Wagamama - Guildford in Guildford

Calla was absolutely amazing when I came with 9 others, after massively failings with another restaurant in town before visiting Wagamamas. Calla was extremely accommodating with our group with drinks and our food. Great atmosphere, great food and customer service was great!

The wait time was rather extensive. The noise level was quite high. The food was exorbitantly priced and excessively salty. The seating was very uncomfortable.

Miso soup was white tofu all smashed up, gyozo raw, yaki soba very dry, brownies hard. The manager changed the gyozo but brought the wrong one. On the whole very disappointing. The server was very pleasant. I am a regular customer, I hope it is a one off!

Arrived just before it got busy. Seated quickly and not with loads of people either side. Food was delicious… Firecracker Chicken Bites were delicious as was the beef ramen

Didn't realise we were rationing katsu sauce like it was WW2, can get one for a tenner at Spoons plus it comes with a drink. It's a Monday and it's ruined my week. Good delivery thou 👌

We tried the waga brunch! Took a while to get served even though we were the only group in there. I enjoyed the vegan sausage bao but it was meant to be vegan sausage WITH mushrooms and egg, but did not come. Luckily, was not charged and I was too hungry to ask. French toast was not as sweet as I would like to my taste but my friend got the big breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly!

Today we had booked for a pre theatre dinner for 6 people .we have been to Wagamama several times over the year as it’s a firm favourite of the family.however the last 2 occasions the service has been well below standard with orders missed .this visit we were constrained by time and 1 persons order was completely missed the food did not arrive .which meant that person who had not eaten all day had to go hungry. It was too late to reorder due to the time constraints for the theatre which meant that one person had no food and had to leave after being in the restaurant for at least 45min. This is not an except able level of service we normally expect from Wagamama.its a terrible shame you have not trained your staff to double check orders .the problem lies with you kitchen .maybe you need more staff in the kitchen .really disappointed.we will be in tomorrow to complain to the management personally .do better.

Worst food poisoning I've ever had. My food took two and a half hours to arrive, and when it did, it was strangely dry even though it was hot. I suspect that it was reheated after two hours, because I've had terrible food poisoning since eating it which has lasted days. Avoid this restaurant.

Lovely Ramen , warmed us up. Although the girl who was welcoming us , after asking for a different place to sit( with no people around), she had rolled her eyes on us like teenager... found that really rude.

I love treating myself to Wagamama from time to time. The food is nice, though perhaps a bit overpriced. Overall, it’s just nice to have something different to eat. Although I had to wait a little longer than expected for my food, Dominic was fantastic at keeping us informed and apologising for the delay. We are often quick to point out bad service, but we tend to forget to appreciate the good experiences. So, thank you Dominic!

Great lunch yesterday at Wagamama. Lots of vegan options, enjoyed the new pulled oyster mushroom dish. Excellent service. Manager and staff doing a very good job. Front foor needs a soft close mechanism or bit of foam to stop it banging.

Honestly one of my favorite places to eat out. I had such a lovely waiter called Calla, she was so talkative friendly and just made my friend and I’s day. We’re definitely going to be back in the hopes she’ll be there ☺️!

Really great meal. Arrived just before 5pm on a Saturday which is a slightly odd time. Can often get slightly loud in this restaurant, but was still able to have a conversation today, which was great. Plenty of choice for tables. Zachu (hope that’s right!) was a brilliant server, attentive and kind but not overbearing. Food was great, best wagamamas we’ve had in a while. All piping hot and really tasty. Decent value for money for an impromptu date night. Thank you!

The food and atmosphere was good. We were a big table and our waitress meli is what made the experience fantastic. Handle us well, talkative, efficient and very charismatic.

Food was exceptional - service was good, although being asked every minute or so if we are ready to order as soon as we enter was a bit much. Very loud and a lot of kids/babies screaming. But good food!

We haven’t been to Wagamamas in over 9 years! I got a recommendation of yaki soba from our server. My other half had the beef brisket Raman and we shared a duck bao bun. All the food was very nice. We did both say we’d try something different next time. What made our evening was our server, Ktrinny. She was friendly, helpful, answered all our questions. Thank you!

Atmosphere was really good, service good as well but the food tasted like nothing. I got the salmon teriyaki soba and I genuinely could not taste anything. I had to cover it in a layer of salt to get any flavour out of it. Severely disappointed

Wagamama, one of my favorite restaurants. So I tried this one from Guildford; Everything OK. Friendly staff, attentive to food allergies. They gave me the gluten free menu. Fantastic! At least you don't have to try to read all the ingredients. Quick service. Satisfied.

Food was good. Service friendly. But they muddled the order, ending with the waiter arguing with the cooks. Ended up having to wait half an hour for the meal we ordered. Otherwise good.

Let me share pros and cons for this restaurant: Pros : Good warm welcome from manager and food allergy explained. Cons : very worst service once order taken your food will delivered after 30mins No proper follow up on customer order I asked 2 glass of water when I ordered food .Till end of food over no one delivered in between I reminded my Glass of water he said he will but he didn’t serve. Finally I stepped into kitchen and asked glass water .So without water I finished my entire food. 2. Prices are high when compare to Rosa Thai ,Yo sushi and Nando’s . 3.Finally I won’t recommend this restaurant for Chinese food lovers . 4.I would I recommend Rosa Thai restaurant for Chinese and Japanese food lovers ❤️ 5. I won’t visit again in my life time to Wagamama.

Always loved Wagamama. Tasty food, interesting variety, reasonably priced, good service. Two complaints however. Where is the Yasai cha Han? And more importantly what the hell has happened to the coconut reika!? If you're a fan of it be warned, it has changed. It's now more like a coconut flavoured ice cream and a watery one at that. And the passion fruit coolis was colourless sugar syrup with a hint of passion fruit flavour. The only thing I enjoyed were the toasted coconut chips which were very few, hardly a 'shower'. The ice cream looses a star. The second issue is perhaps more of a sign of the times but I can not afford the prices anymore. My main was great however and the staff performed really well.

Lovely place, I was new to wagamama style communal restaurant. Food was ok, loved the teas, remember that your food will not come at the same time as everyone's in your party. It will come when it's ready lol. Great ordering system and easy pay by phone via scanning the qrcode on your placemat.

This is the worse pad Thai I have ever had. I am being robbed of my the outrageous thirteen pounds I paid. It came lukewarm and there was no taste of per pad Thai expected. It didn’t look appetising. Shameful.

Really unhelpful staff. I asked for a simple side of extra salad dressing and the guy responded by saying ‘it’s staff policy that we can’t modify your order…..’ this place used to have me under the thumb, I was ordering 3-4 times a week, and because of this I will never order again. How can staff have such a policy. You need to be inclusive and adaptive not tight and stingy. Yeah I’m done with waggas. Don’t expect to be treated like a ‘customer’ more like a patient in a ward

Love it, the chef i think his name is tato fantastic made my order special because i don't like slicy food. And the waiter will such a young man with the best actitud and care. Big thank you. They all are amazing.

Wagamama formula working well on a busy restaurant in the centre of Guildford. Delicious.

Went for a family lunch. Enjoyed the food. The kids activity and kids chopsticks was something different and special for the kids. Service was great and food was nice. If you like spicy food make sure to mention it explicitly so that you can enjoy extra spicy food

I can’t recommend this Wagamama enough, the food always comes out looking amazing and the staff are very friendly and attentive.

Had to wait a little bit before being seated. Friendly staff and food came very quickly and was delicious! Pay via QR code which speeds up the whole process. Very busy all the time which slowed down takeout delivery one time.

The staff allowed my friend to wait about an hour for us all to arrive for dinner!! I’d like to extend a special thank you to Mia, our lovely waitress. She was very attentive and friendly. The food was yummy. Thank you for a nice evening.

i am a big fan of katsu curry. I have been to wagamama for fews branched and never been disappointed on food until I tried Guildford branch… first time I tried the ramen was super salty. Second time have tried chicken katsu curry was so bad… i am sorry to say. Starting with the curry tasted bitter and follow by fried chicken also. There was no check back with our food. Staffs seem to be only get ready for closing the restaurant but not to looking after customers..

Very busy but got a table very quickly as there was only 2 of us. Waitress was lovely, food was very good 👍

Poor quality food, service just about ok for a fast food type of restaurant (which this is, don't expect tasty flavoursome fresh dishes) The food is reminiscent of a "Cook" style oven meal but not actually as tasty. Presume most of the ingredients are centrally prepared.

Fairly large, light setting with the usual wagamama bench seating etc. Staff were attentive & friendly & service was very quick. Food was very tasty.

Wagamama is fantastic anyway, but the staff at this one are so helpful and attentive. Shoutout to Chirag who has served us multiple times and is always lovely. The food is always exceptional too with loads of veggie and vegan options.

This can be a particularly busy branch. It offers the usual offerings that can be found in their other branches.

What can you say. We needed a quick and not too big savoury bite and stopped at Wagamama. Quick and friendly service, a plate and a bowl of nice noodles, two Sauvignon Blanc and we left satisfied. Good, but very much like other Wagamamas.

I used to work at this Wagamama when it first opened, therefore understand the concept behind their service model, and absolutely loved the whole experience. So one thing I expected was efficient service. Sadly every aspect of the service took too long, to order drinks, to get our drinks, to get our food, even looking for staff members to ask questions on where our drinks or food were was a challenge. We wanted more dishes, but didn't order them as we couldn't find someone, and check back happened when we'd finished the food! We established the staff were all standing around a service area at the back, which we discovered when unable to get through to the changing room. Only once a manager physically moved them did they allow us past. The food was really poor, katzu prawns stuck together, duck gyoza over cooked, seaweed so chewy we couldn't actually bite through it when it's meant to be crispy. Manager totally uninterested in our issues, when trying to explain was just talked over with an apology and told the manager was another person, so not actually noting what the issues were and nothing done to compensate. It was NYE, we were off to the pantomime, so not wanting to spoil the evening we just left feeling disappointed. Definitely a far cry from the wagamamas I remember and such a shame, as we won't be going back any time soon.

Went out for dinner during Christmas Eve with my wife and my little 2 year old daughter. As soon as we entered l the resturant, we were approached by selina and the manager who was very friendly,attentive . Having a child with buggy going to a restaurant is always daunting however both selina & manager helped us and ensured that we were comfortable. She explained the menu and recommended dishes and drink with a smile. Selina as well as the manager is definitely an asset to Wagamama. Thank you for making our dining experience world class, unforgettable.

Went Christmas eve. Staff very polite. Was dealt with by the lady manager as my friend has food allergy. Top marks she was very attentive and friendly. Food was fresh, colourful and delicious as always.

A Japanese chain restaurant in Guildford that is always very busy. Good service and delicious food. Nice atmosphere, open kitchen, many families with children, large selection of food and drinks, free Wi-Fi. 😋We had a great time and will definitely be back. I recommend!

SHRINKFLATION - I remember the glory years when a Kastu curry was a majestic dinner, enough grub for any person. They have hiked up the price and reduced the portion. The chicken is now thinner than the panko that covers it. When queried they stated, they had received complains that the chicken was under cooked so they made it thinner by compressing it. Nonsense, as if you compress or tenderise meat, it gets wider like an escalope. It’s excuses for shrinkflation, pay more get less, I have ended my relationship with Waggas and will never frequent you ever again. Gaslighting staff, telling me I was wrong, have a look at that picture and tell me that’s a reasonable portion of chicken, screw you Waggas.

had not been to wagamamas for a while didn't like the long school bench type eats but they appear to have changed and are now much better. Food up to usual good standard

We have been here a lot of times but yesterday was so disappointing. My kare burosu ramen was seemingly ok but I ate it anyway cos of hunger but I was been in the toilet all night, definitely something was off (am suspecting some cross contamination with the mushrooms as they smelt a but funky but I brushed it off). Really terrible experience, shame as this branch has excellent service and seating.

Definitely a dine in spot. I’ve had multiple issues ordering through them for collection over the last year or so, specifically losing my order multiple times. Otherwise definitely be choosey about what you want as the value - portion is quite off, the katsu curry is a ripoff. Personally I’d rather Kokoro or Itsu for consistency and value.

Asian fusion at its best! Portioning the main dish is the way to go and order lots of appetisers. I’ll drop by again in my next visit to Guildford.

My friend needs GF food and they went to a lot of trouble making sure his food was cooked safely for him even scrubbing down that part of the kitchen before starting to cook and the manager was assigned as his cook. Top quality.

I am never disappointed by Wagamama's. The food is consistently lovely no matter what I try. The vegan options have changed over the years and I've enjoyed trying them all, but kare burosu remains my favourite! I love the free green tea and the service is always good. The desserts are nice, the cocktails are nice, I've never had a bad meal at Wagamama's and I've been a good 15 times. I also love the takeaway pots because I tend to get two servings out of the ramen dishes. Great for any dietary requirements.

Delivery portions are a lot smaller than portions served at restaurants. Taking the piss as many customers are complaining about this.

A large group of us came here Sunday evening and had a lovely experience. Despite being a large, spontaneous party, the service we received was excellent - special mention to B and the manager on shift at the time. The staff were also very accommodating for our visit being a birthday. Overall, it was a pleasant evening with great service

The server was repeatedly thown by the allergy named, whether to take either guest's order. Granted he knew a manager had to take the allergy order. She was less than supportive and both we're told DAIRY and repeated back GLUTEN. I'd presume the same person should be taking both dinner's order, neither server or manager seemed sure of the process. The food was medicocre, and the manager's sarcasm unappreciated.

Great food, quick service and food comes out quick too. My only negative is that where seating is packed in, it can get loud and hard to hear what people are saying

For a Friday evening was seated quickly and the waitress was polite. Food came in phases (but this is the theme of the restaurant) but we didn't see our waitress again. This was a shame as it was a hot night and extra drinks were needed.
