Giggling Squid in Guildford

It’s a lovely area and this place defiantly looks the part and is a nice cosy Thai spot. Unfortunately the food was very bland and lacked flavour, I had plenty of dishes however none of them stood out as being very nice.

The best service possible (by Andi). All smiles! The best duck confit I’ve ever had. Presentation was perfect. Very cosy atmosphere with flower wallpaper and ceilings!

It was a lovely atmosphere here, I ordered the green Thai curry when it arrived and I tasted I realized it was the red Thai curry that I preferred . The manager was so nice and insisted they change it for me to get the Red Thai curry instead and it was delicious. Excellent service.

We dined in today for Valentine's day. It was a great experience. Food was amazing - highly recommend pork belly. We were served by Gracie - she was bubbly, polite, efficient and fast.

Service was friendly. Environment is pretty. The seating goes back very close to the toilets which I find unpleasant while eating so if you are like that too - be sure to request a table away from them. Food was a little cold when it arrived at our table but no big deal. 9 year old foodie devoured all his favourites in tapas form; s&p squid, skewered meats & different sauces, sweet battered prawns etc. Pad Thai was quite bland; it was on par with ready made Pad Thai meals from the supermarket which aren't that bad but it's not the real deal. Overall, nice enough. I'd go back as my kids love it and it's a nice change from burgers or pizza.

On a Thursday, we visited this establishment and found it to be quite relaxing. Unlike our previous attempt on a weekend, when we had to wait approximately an hour for our meal due to the significant crowd, the establishment was not excessively crowded on this occasion. The establishment itself is characterized by its simplicity, yet it exudes a pleasant ambiance. The staff demonstrated exceptional friendliness and warmth in welcoming us. However, the culinary offerings are the primary highlight of this establishment. The meat was exceptionally tender, and the sauces complemented the rice perfectly with their exquisite flavors. Although the pricing is slightly higher than average, the overall experience warrants a return visit.

I was in Guildford for the weekend with family and visited the Giggling Squid for dinner. The food was absolutly delicious, service was on point and the ambiance was perfect. When i'm in Guildford again I will be revisiting the Giggling Squid.

My wife was very keen to visit Giggling Quid, we opted to book a table at the Guildford branch. Great venue tucked away a road with lots of other restaurants. Food was fantastic and I particularly liked that there is a lunch tapas that suits me in that I can sample different starters and mains without ordering too much. Just the right amount! Lovely smiling and attentive staff that made the experience even more enjoyable. My wife particularly liked the rose on offer! I found Chang beer too "fizzy" to go with the meals we had (Cobra may have been a little more suited for my tastes). All in all, a great restaurant. Will I visit again....absolutely!!

Sorry but they don’t even deserve one star , I was there last night they served us cocktails in 1 and 1/2 hour and food came so late and I couldn’t believe that we had to wait 2 hours just for appetisers LOL and honestly I didn’t like the food .

We had a lovely time at Giggling Squid today for lunch. We were served by Gracie who was super helpful and friendly, she also recommended dishes that we absolutely loved. We had some lovely drinks too made by Nicole, very talented bartender. Would definitely recommend to friends and family in the future.

The Thai green curry is simply stupendous on deliveroo. Ordered many times never let us down.

Wife and I each had a lunchtime Tapas Set menu, and we shared an extra Pad Thai (chicken). Washed down with a Pino Grigio. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Sat in the section adjacent to the windows which is bright and airy; the lower section is too cramped.

Really disappointed with this restaurant. My first visit was Norwich, my second Farnham, my third time lucky was the most disappointing experience of all. Venue wasn’t at all as expected. Food was cold and personally I was embarrassed as I had brought my friend here from the USA. I wouldn’t have dined here again as it really put me off but the Manager saw my review and asked me to drop them a line. I did so and received a response immediately. I didn’t expect anything more but later that day received a voucher which covered more than enough for me to go back and try another venue. I do appreciate that they have read the review and listened to my issue, I didn’t expect a voucher but truly appreciate it so thank you very much to Dom and the Area Manager that decided to offer me this to regain my custom. Thank you.

Even 2 of the meals received were still wrong, I ordered beef penang, received chicken (I paid addition for the beef), I ordered chicken pad Thai, received with tofu.Really disappointed that the restaurant would not help, deliveroo was also not helpful to proceed with the refund. I will not be ordering or visiting their restaurant anymore.

I had dinner at Giggling Squid recently, and my experience was good. Some dishes, like the Tangy and Spicy Prawn, were quite spicy, but I enjoyed the Sea Bass Green Curry, which had a good portion size. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the food presentation was nice. The staff was friendly and quick. Overall, it's a decent spot to dine in Guildford.

Don’t ever go there , horrible service. From the beginning because I had a child and a buggy, they put me in the back in a lonely room. There was absolutely no service even to ask anything. Basically I had to go the other way and call them to order food. Couldn’t eat sticky rice ( don’t ever order ) Moreover, when it came the bills, they asked me for a service charge. Of course I didn’t pay.

The food was OK, but lacked the "zing" I associate with Thai food. I was disappointed.

An absolutely amazing evening out at Giggling Squid. Food here was very nice and the service provided by your waitress, Amber, was absolutely flawless. We had one of the starter sharing dishes, the Chiang Mai one, which was really nice. The Paneang curry and coconut rice was also great. Only small thing they could improve on is to have some more Thai deserts (e.g. mango sticky rice, Thai red rubies), but this definitely wouldn’t justify the removal of a star from the overall rating. I recently visited the Giggling Squid in Guildford for my friends birthday. Having been to the same restaurant back home, I definitely had some expectations. All staff offered friendly smiles and were happy to assist with any questions we had regarding the menu. The food was lovely too, and came pretty soon after ordering. Definitely something for veggies/ vegans - Will for sure be back soon!

My partner and I decided to spend our anniversary meal at the giggling squid and we are so glad we did, the service and food was absolutely fantastic, we felt very well looked after by Koy and the rest of the team, the cocktails were perfect and the food was the best Thai food in guilford ! We ordered take away last night, it was very average indeed, the chicken satay was a long way away from what one imagines when ordering. It was dry, char burnt chicken with a weird colour and texture with the weakest satay sauce I've ever encountered.. My wife's starter was so greasy. The main chicken curry was hot spicy as requested, but the ingredients though were bland and over cooked my wife found a fish bone in hers!! The side vegetables had given up long ago swimming limp in watery soy sauce. Overall very disappointing.

Great little find for lunch. Lovely decor & atmosphere. We had the Scrummy Squid & Royal Squid from the Tapas Sets. Both were delicious & plenty for a lunch. We also had amazing service from Emerson…couldn’t fault. Will definitely be going again.

Had my 40th Birthday meal here this evening. Everything was fabulous, the venue was beautifully decorated, the food was absolutely delicious and catered perfectly for myself and my nephew's coeliac dietary requirements, the staff were brilliant and very attentive to our party of 14. Staff so rude and lie to you. I used to love this place but the staff are now intimidating and lie. The food has gone down hill too. Needs someone to step in and sort them all out before they have no customers left.

Our very first visit to Giggling Squid and we loved it. The staff were so gorgeous and the food just delicious 😋. Although a bank holiday Sunday it was fairly quiet but the ambience was lovely. Fab food with fab cocktails. Thank you Giggling Squid.

I ordered a take away via Deliveroo and it arrived about 10 mins past the delivery time. The food was in boxes and not containers, and was cold. It did not look freshly cooked, the sticky chicken looked more like chicken nuggets and not stir...

Food was nice as usual, it is quite a narrow restaurant so can be a bit close to other tables - service was mediocre at best, felt like it was a hardship for them us being there.

A fantastic lunch once again at the Giggling Squid, the calamari was amazing as was the fish curry. We received fantastic service from all of the staff especially Nis. The booking was easy to make on line, I had to change it, and it was so simple to do. Try ye atmosphere was really good, all the diners were all at ease and enjoying their lunch. A must visit.

Came here with my mum and sister before going out for a party and had an amazing time! The young gentleman who was serving us was incredibly nice, helpful and had a bit of banter as well. The food was absolutely off the scale good (I had the salt and pepper squid) and the whole place had a lovely vibe. Wasn't too bad either price wise (about £100 for 3 people to have main courses, bottle of wine and a few beers) Would love to go back

Spontaneously booked and very pleased i did. Delicious virgin cocktails and food delicious. Some items we ordered werent available sadly but everything was top notch and service staff were a credit to the restaurant!!
