Uskudar in Bromley

Ordered a takeaway for first time last night, Lamb Shish, overcooked and really chewy, Chicken nice, salad not salad just a load of leaves nothing else, no cucumber, tomato etc, no selection of sauces/dips provided, just a pot of hot sauce, came with only 1 bit of bread for 5 people, very expensive for what it was, won't be ordering from again, very dissapointed

Great Turkish restaurant. Very cosy, good for a date. Nice view through to the kitchen to see the staff working. Food is fresh and full of flavour. Portions are generous so if you want pudding skip the starters.

As soon as we walked in the waiter was arguing with chefs very vocally. We were then served by an unbothered waitress who was tall and has a cross knecklace on her. She walked away whilst taking our order. And made an issue over chilli flakes, and said there was no chilli flakes, we were then presented with a started that had chilli flakes on it. We were served bread that was rock hard. And ordered an ezme salad which was meant to be spicy but came out as a normal salad. Worst place we've been in ages. Should shut down if they continue to run it like this.

Food was OK but not great, the shish kebab was fatty. Overall it was a lot more expensive than I was expecting. They offered us a shot after we had paid but literally only as we had stood up to go, too little too late. Only three stars from me, there are other Turkish restaurants I'd rather try than go back.

Not bad at all. It was about £30.00 a head for three main courses and some drinks. My grilled lamb was absolutely excellent and super tasty. The other two dishes very good. Excellent service. Generos portions. Packed-issimo on mother's day.

The staff do their job . Pleasant . Starter was bland . I had a lamb kebab . Served with a dollop of plain rice and some rocket salad. Rice was tasteless , rocket , not even a bit of dressing and about eight lumps of grissle lamb . When I said the lamb was really tough , I was told it’s the cut of the lamb! Really poor meal . Small starter each , main course if you can call it that and a bottle of wine £110 ! Really don’t waste your money

Uskudar has always been my favourite restaurant. Celebrated my 50th there. Staff and food are amazing.

Visited yesterday for dinner with no reservation ahead, I have to admin we haven't been in for ages. Table for 2 next to the window was great. We didn't have starters, had only main and salad this time around. We had mix grill and vegetarian musakka- both great. My other half have mentioned that the portion looked on the small side for the price. I was very pleased with my vegetarian option. We also had desserts - both baklava and the pistachio dessert were great, thank you. Service was quite attentive, polite and quick. I like the atmosphere, was pretty chilled. Visited again witha friend and all was great again. My friend was impressed with service and food, her first visit. If you follow me already know with me is all about the dessert- had the pistachio ice cream, and it was amazing .

Lovely food and lovely experience. I went with a group of friends. Very tasty and fresh food with a good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Wow! Never been here before although friends had. Took me ages to choose what to have because so much of the menu looked great - selection eventually made and I wasn't disappointed. The chicken in my main course just melted, and don't get me started on the Sicilian lemon pudding! Service was excellent too. We will be back!

Honestly the best restaurant in petts wood. Great atmosphere, amazing food, great cocktails. And reasonable for the quality of the food and service.

It was okay but I wouldn't be eager to go back. Food was on the whole quite plain and dry. Have had much fresher, more authentic turkish food, it's not really worth the money. The restaurant looks nice from the outside but is quite worn inside not the best atmosphere

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious wedding anniversary lunch here today. Three courses for us both, one cocktail, one mocktail and one soft drink between us came to just over £50, which we thought was very reasonably priced. The service was excellent, the food was cooked to perfection and generously portioned and the restaurant was clean and well presented. We were the only people in the restaurant, which was a shame for the business, but we really enjoyed the peace and quiet of private dining! I would definitely recommend Üsküdar to friends/family and no doubt we will be back for a second visit soon.

I really love Turkish food and have been to plenty of places all over London. I have got to say this place is well up there! Friendly staff, tasty food, good portions and lovely wine and ambience. Will go back.

Went here with a friend on a Friday evening. Ordered a chicken shish, it arrived with a few chips and a small handful of salad that was dry and very obviously straight out of a bag of salad from the supermarket. Very disappointing given that many good Turkish restaurants make amazing salads with great dressings. There was no bread at all which is most unusual for a Turkish restaurant. We also ordered a mixed kebab which arrived in a small clay bowl on a plate, again very small portion size. These meals were around £18 and £20 each so definitely NOT VALUE for MONEY! Desert was a sticky toffee pudding which had been microwaved and overbooked and was dry, crispy and burnt inside. A VERY average meal and definitely OVERPRICED! Seems to be the new trend post Covid to put prices up but reduce portion sizes or food quality. A bad move by the restaurant as I will NOT be returning any time soon. Such a shame as this could have been a much better experience all for the sake of some bread and better portion sizes and a real salad instead of cheap salad out of a bag without any dressing. If scoring out of ten I’d give this place a 5!

Booked table for 7 on recommendation to celebrate a birthday as a pre meal before travelling to London. Received a call day before to say they were not serving set menu due to fact it was mother’s day weekend and they were fully booked all weekend. When we arrived we were immediately told “no confetti” before we even sat down. There were only 3 tables taken up during our visit so NOT fully booked as they said. I asked again why we couldn’t eat from set menu and was given the same reply! Waitress was miserable and service was poor. Food lacked flavour - vegetarian option was like watery boiled tasteless veg served with plain rice 🤮. The lamb kebab was chewy and overall not a great experience. Wouldn’t recommend!

The food was good and tasty. But the waiting staff were not very friendly and abrupt which spoilt the meal.

The table was booked for 7 and everyone was on time. The waiter took the orders after 20 minutes. Some ordered a starter, which arrived in reasonable time. The rest of us had to wait for one and a half hours before our orders arrived, and that after having to ask how much longer. I had ordered sea bass, and it arrived almost inedible it was so dried out. No sauces were offered. The salad had obviously been sitting on the plate for some time, and half the plate was covered with chips. I could not finish the meal. We had to wait until gone 10pm for the bill. Very very disappointing.

My friends and I went to the restaurant on Thursday for lunch. It was a lovely and laid back. The set lunch menu was brilliant with plenty of choice. The staff were very friendly and the food was perfect.

What you would expect in a Turkish restaurant, food was ok and the venue was smoky. The waiters were rude, selective and rough whilst serving food/drinks and clearing the table. Unfortunately our little birthday celebration wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been.

Our first visit to this Turkish Resteraunt in Petts Wood, and it was well worth it on a cold December evening. Receiving a warm welcome from the staff is always going to impress me, however, it’s even more impressive when the same theme is maintained by all the staff you encounter on your visit and not just those who are dedicated to the “meet and greet” part of your visit. The food was excellent and provided us all with a choice of traditional Turkish food. The Resteraunt was warm and provided a fits class ambience for us all. A word of special praise for the staff who served us including a gentleman called “Maj” (I think), some humour and banter always adds to an evening and that’s what we engaged in. Whist,we were “children free” this evening, the couple we were with, who are local, made a point of saying that they have been in the Resteraunt with there grandchildren and they have always made them welcome.

Great food, great prices excellent service

There are a few good Turkish restaurants around Bromley, but having tried several, this is me and my family's favourite and is well worth the drive to Petts Wood. We got takeaway early in the lockdown and they handled it so well. Their straight-up kebabs are always grilled exactly right, while the slightly more complex offerings, like iskender (with yoghurt and tomato sauce), Uskudar special (with matchstick potatoes) and tavuk beyti (minced chicken in bread with sauces) are possibly even better. Uskudar's been established in Petts Wood for years now; here's to many more.

One of my children is an experienced chef. I hear from him how hard this work is. Ate here tonight under the Government EatOut deal. Bad move. Uskudar was heaving. They had filled the place to 100% or near. I felt it claustrophobic, and so, dangerous. Main course was OK, but not 5 star. We didn't have to wait too long, but neither were we rushed. Dessert was a Baclava that had no character and was v likely to have been bought in. It was not "brightened up" in any way. Staff were rushing around trying to get everyone served, billed and out, in 120 mins. Sorry folks. But the management needs to treat customers and staff better. Trying to recoup losses - I understand. But it won't be with my money ever again.

Lovely food and staff with a smile, every time we go to this restaurant, which has a lovely ambient setting and you can see the kitchen which is always a bonus. Take away food also excellent.

Have been going to Uskudar for years. The food is always delicious and I've never once been disappointed. Service can be a little slow but it's always worth it for the incredible food that comes out of that kitchen. Tonight for the first time I tried their take away service and it blew my mind. It was like having the restaurant here in my home. Food tasted just as good, was well presented (which I didnt expect but was a nice surprise) and tasted gorgeous. Thank you to for my lovely meal!

Six of us visited for dinner on Saturday night and had a wonderful time. Staff were very attentive and accommodating and the food was first rate. We will be visiting again within the next couple of months.

Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food, equals a good experience. Took a trip here with the family and quite impressed with some of the food on offer. The interior is cozy, and rustic and combined with the staff makes for an inviting and chilled environment. Starting with the bad, the drinks are a little on the small side and don't really match the price well and that's all. As for the food no complaints. My family tried the following starters calamari rings which where really good, fresh by the tastes of it and the batter was nice fluffy and crispy. Homous (my brother described as satisfying which paired well with the bread, which itself was delicious and made the humous even better), falafel (light and moist in the middle) and the lamb with almonds (also pretty nice). As for mains these where all really good, personally for someone like myself the portions could have been just a tad bigger, but as we came during the lunchtime and got these on offer they where worth the price tag. I myself tried the sea bass which was crispy on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside. My brother had the chicken minced kebab which was nice and you could tell it was flame grilled which gave that extra something. As for the parents I think they picked the real winner which was the lamb ribs, despite the slightly small portion was easily the tastiest thing on the table. Good seasoning and cooked just right on the grills these are what I recommend to a first time visitor. Overall a solid experience and worth dropping by.

However, decided to try again as had heard better things.Booked a table last minute, and were told they needed it back by a certain time. On arrival we were told this was no longer necessary so we could take our time.Drink & food order taken quickly, staff were friendly and polite. Food was excellent and good sized portions, and good value for money.

Acabo de regresar de una excelente cena seleccionada del menú especial de dos o tres platos. Había muchas opciones de cada una de las secciones de entrantes, entrantes y postres. Mi esposa y yo compartimos los tiernos calamares recubiertos como entrante. Elegí el escallope de cordero a la parrilla a la perfección y mi esposa eligió los filetes de lubina. Terminé con el muy buen tiramisú. Esta resultó ser una de las mejores comidas que hemos tenido durante nuestros recientes viajes por Gran Bretaña e Irlanda.Decoración bien restringida con una amplia vista a la cocina desde nuestro banquete. El personal fue atento y amable también. En general, una velada muy agradable.
