With a walking group of fifteen, the service was excellent, the staff friendly and the food and coffee highly rated, none of us were disappointed and would return. Certainly worth a visit.

We were 15 ladies out on an Autumn walk who stopped at the Tutti Pole for brunch. We booked ahead and our tables were ready when we arrived. We ordered a selection of food & drinks, a highlight being the cream tea. I have been to the cafe several times and it was a pleasure to bring everyone and know that they were as delighted as I always am with the choice & quality of food and excellent service - thank you!

This cafe is amazing and I fully recommend it. My mum and I went there for lunch today. We were greeted by warm and friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we had good food and drink. An example would be, my mum ordered a pot of tea and it came with extra hot water to top up the pot of tea and a warmed cup to pour the tea into to drink. I have never had a warmed cup before and my mum really appreciated it. Definitely worth a visit.

It’s exactly what it describes itself as, a down to earth eatery that sits at the centre of a real community. The single thing that was a standout, that was so simple, but brilliant, was the provision of a pair of scissors to open the sauce sachet. The thoughtfulness of that was charming. There was a mix of clientele, one group of disabled/special needs were cherished and obviously regular visitors. Others like ourselves, passing visitors, were welcomed and chatted to. If you like good, basic, inexpensive cooking and a great staff who obviously enjoy people, this is a go to in Hungerford.

I felt I must write to say how much I thoroughly enjoyed lunch at The Tutti Pole recently. Two friends joined me, where they opted for toasted sandwiches - delicious I'm sure, but I'd spent a few hours in the garden, and had worked up a huge appetite. As such, a full English breakfast was required to fully satisfy my hunger (and it certainly did) Everything was beautifully presented, and most importantly, my fried eggs were cooked to perfection ! Ice creams were enjoyed for dessert, ending a wonderful lunch. I hear this family run business has been serving customers for 43 years. My goodness, 43 years - now that's impressive, but in a way it's hardly surprising, because when you have a lovely team of friendly staff who greet you with a warm welcome, plus offer a tempting assortment of scrumptious food, then you can expect that business to flourish, and have a long and healthy future. Good old fashioned service, combined with a pleasurable eating experience are the hallmarks of the Tutti Pole (more than 4 decades in business confirms this)

A lovely place for a lunch stop, post Cruise on Kennet & Avon canal. We popped in at lunchtime, the place was reasonably busy. We ordered sandwiches and a bowl of chips. The food arrived promptly, was lovely and fresh, well presented and both tasty, and welcome. There is much history attached to this place, it's family-run, and very worth finding out more about post-visit. A lovely little place, and seems very popular, and I recommend a visit, to try it out. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, many thanks!

Perfect café for a light meal, or a full scoff. Mrs had toastie & chips and I had beef stew and dumplings off the Specials Board. Both meals excellent. Was welcomed in and seated by Rose, who was pleasant, engaging and informative without being intrusive. Mrs had diet coke and I had a pot of tea (2 tea bags, so NOT weak). Top-up jug of water comes as standard and was impressed to get 6 cups out of 1 pot. Took a take away ice-cream cone for pudding - good choice of flavours (although my particular favourite Rum & Raisin was absent). £35 was excellent value. Great café.

A really disappointing lunch here today. Coffee was weak, and the food was sparse. A toasted sandwich with the thinnest layer of tuna made in a home toastie maker, an un buttered bacon baguette, and some tasteless soup. Small portions and the salad was one slice of tomatoe, one bit of cucumber four small leaves and cress. We used to come here a lot many years ago but won’t be back again.

Visited the Tutti Pole on a Sunday morning when passing through Hungerford to grab some breakfast / brunch. There were no free tables in the cafe so I opted for a take-away bacon baguette. As bacon butties go it was very good, nice fresh baguette and a generous filling of quality bacon. Price was £6.75 and service was friendly and efficient. The cafe is located right by the canal and so a good spot for a refreshments before or after a walk by the water.

Right by the bridge of the Kennett & Avon canal with all round scenery. We were on a family meet up which was central for all of us. Our daughter in law was so well catered for lunch being a coeliac which often poses a problem. Rose our waitress was so kind and considerate and full of historical information which was a bonus to us. The food was plentiful and very enjoyable and will certainly visit again when in the area. Visited recently for the first time and was impressed, no long queues after placing your order like in Costa etc, all staff are young and very helpful & pleasant. This is how a cafe should be run, Yesterday visited the Reading Cafe, same level of service received, we had to amend our order after sitting down, it was no problem for them at all and we were made to feel again nothing is too much trouble. Got home and looked into the Company, they focus on employing the right people & training them. Well done for doing this, your doing the right thing from the top down to the shop floor, If there’s a Boswells near me wherever I am that’s where I will be spending my money. 🙏😁

Excellent service from a very enthusiastic young man. Unfortunately several dishes were not up to the usual standard. The pork rib eye and beef feather were very good and presented well. The tandoori prawns on Naan bread were a poor substitute for the old garlic prawns and more reminiscent of a TV dinner. The chicken schnitzel presentation was poor. It came without the coronation mayonnaise and there could be more imagination with the salad which was just little gem cut up. Flavour, however, was good. The hot drink with small pudding was a winner as usual and delicious.

Have been a few times and it’s been nice but today it seems the owner was around for the first time that I’ve seen him. His attitude was something I can’t explain, rude to say the least! Comes across very intimidating and only seems to favour his regulars… after speaking to other regulars they all said he’s not been around for a while and that he likes to push his weight around when he’s on site. Definitely will not be going again. Shame really….. typical Irish

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. After checking in and dropping our bags in our room we returned to the property after-hours and followed the instructions to enter via back of the building. We only had a key for the room but the back door had been locked and we were unable to enter. After ringing the doorbell non stop, phoning and banging on the door for 1 hour in the freezing cold we gave up and paid for a taxi to sleep on a friend’s sofa. Returned in the morning (after paying for a second taxi) to staff who were not apologetic or empathic to our awful experience. They said we would get a refund but it has been 3 weeks and they are avoiding our calls and we are having to resolve this via booking.com. I feel the hotel should have given us a full refund AND paid for our taxis! Avoid avoid avoid.
