A delightful cosy and slightly quirky pub.I was intrigued by the menu tapas,flatbread,and some traditional pub food.Our room was large with a very individualistic stylish decor and a spacious shower.Getting a feel for the place we anticipated a touch of style with the food.Alas this is why it does not get 5 stars as it was the usual pub "out of a packet"fare.The tapas was encased in little ramekins one of us had fish and chips and supermarket came to mind.Another had the pie which was ok it is that the pub and menu promise so much but is everyday.Dont misunderstand me there was nothing really wrong just it promised so much.Cazz our waitress night and morning was a delight and was sorry that a expresso martini we ordered was just a syrupy sweet concoction that did not resemble in any way a cocktail and after a few sips had to be returned. Apparently the brewery are to blame guessing it's a syrup base that does not see vodka or coffee liqueur. Breakfast menu is good and the scrambled eggs soft and buttery tried the sausage cheese muffin with packet hash browns it was interesting .Thanks again to Cazz for her friendly and helpful attitude

February 2024 visit, stuck to lunch menu. Just the job. Again circular walk. Warm welcome good service. Pretty much perfect. Lovely setting. Lunch with friends after a local strut from the pub car park. Warm welcome from the landlady, open fire, excellent selection of beers on draught. Quality, tasty food, much enjoyed. Just maybe would have preferred some ‘crackling’ on the pork chop and maybe some apple sauce… personal preference. Incase you’re wondering my friend did order the steak 🥩’well done’ 😳. Lovely crumble and custard to finish off. Highly recommend, we will undoubtedly return.

Nice rooms and nice location. Pub service good but food was just OK, not superb.

Good service, but the Menu had a few items which were not available, which was strange for a Saturday evening. On the positive side they accommodated a party of 14 at very short notice.

Really need to sort out order taking at the bar. Ordering a bacon sandwich and a coffee is painfully slow especially with seven in the group

Book table for 8 turned up with 13 .you sorted extra spaces food all arrived to table prompt and hot and we all enjoyed are meals.will come again thanks John l

We stayed just one night before after a long late flight into Heathrow. Despite arriving late and leaving early we were welcomed by the friendly staff and made to feel at home. The room was really well furnished and equipped, with a really comfortable bed. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast (at a cost) in the lovely pub the next day. Highly recommended.

We obviously visited on a busy night (although it didn't seem that full) as they'd run out of some dishes. The waiter seemed to be a new starter and wasn't as confident as he might have been but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it soon.

Beautiful roast dinner. Lovely service. Very dog friendly and patient with cheeky toddlers.

Made a large booking of 28, and for some reason (despite being told we would be spread over 5 tables) come the day we were all shoved onto a table no where near big enough in a cramped space. Made the whole meal extremely uncomfortable. On top of that, the food was rubbish and the service mediocre. I would not recommend this place.

We were in the restaurant on the evening of 30th December as a party of 10 for an 18th birthday celebration. The food was first class, delivered as promised, portion sizes were just right and it was hot and very tasty. We loved the food. Our waiter was polite but clearly not comfortable with what he was doing - I got the impression that this wasn't his normal role. The service from the bar was awful though, we were in the venue for 3 hours (we were booked to stay longer) and managed 3 rounds of drinks to the table, the average wait for drinks from order to delivery was 30 minutes. For context, there were total 18 guests in the pub, my 10, another table of 6 and a table of 2. There were 3 members of staff on duty, our waiter/food runner and 2 members of bar staff. So there clearly was not a staffing issue causing the delays. At one point we went to investigate why our drinks were taking so long and found the bar staff were setting up the breakfast section for the next morning. I finally ran out of patience when our waiter poured coffee over my sister in law and could only manage to mumble something about napkins, so we asked our taxi to come and get us. There were no apologies for delays in service, no offers of money off or taking some drinks off the bill - we did get given some scratch cards to 'win' between 15% - 25% off our next visit - which felt like an ironic gesture given the circumstances. We won't be returning, back of house did a fantastic job, front of house let them down.

Arrived at 7.15 and seated in a corridor to the rest of the restaurant. No communication, no drink offered, no menu. Waited 10 minutes and stopped a guy and asked for a drink. It eventually came and then we had to ask someone again for a menu. To cut a very long story short, we had a taxi booked for 9.15 and with only a main course ordered we ran out of time for a dessert! £72 for just the two of us and absolutely terrible service and average bland food - won’t be going back in a hurry!

Manager is clearly not very experienced and just plain odd. I look forward to going back when he's gone which won't be long as the staff seem to move on every 12-18 months.

We came here for 1 night this weekend just gone to celebrate my partners birthday, my birthday and the pooch's birthday. From the moment we arrived we were very excited as the welcome was very friendly from our lovely dark haired hostess lady (so sorry can't remember her name as we were too busy discussing dogs), she made a real fuss of Biggie the dog and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely lunch straight after and everything was delicious food and drink wise... the only complaint was my Chicken Schnitzel didn't come with the chips that it should have done and when I questioned it i was told it didn't come with chips but on the menu it said otherwise. We didn't want to cause a fuss so we left it at that and we knew it was a new menu that obviously all staff are getting used to. The room was lovely, very spacious, bed was soo comfy and the shower was brilliant, the only issue we had was the light pull falling off in my hand when pulled so we had to shower in the dark but only a minor issue. The dinner was incredible, would highly recommend the ribeye steak and the Mr Goose white wine went down a treat, sticky toffee pud was very moreish too. Again our lovely hostess was very welcoming even though my partner was suffering from his pet allergy (she advised him where to get some tablets). Check out was easy and the breakfast was nice... the full english you get a lot for your money but my smoked salmon and scrambled egg was delicious but I could have done with more of it it was lovely. Our lovely hostess even gave our dog a big cuddle goodbye and gave him a pack of treats to take away. We were very impressed with the service and the accommodation and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others or stay again. Perfect for dog lovers! Sorry we were unable to leave a cash tip, we discussed on the way home we wish we had taken some cash with us to say thank you to our hostess and the team but hopefully the review will suffice and we will come better prepared next time. Our hostess lady definitely deserves a pay increase! Looking forward to a return trip in the future :-) !

We booked a bit last minute for an unexpected date night :-)It has been a long time since we last ate here as the previous Management weren't quite for us, but the Bunk is back to being a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with great food.The reduced menu is straight forward but has variety. THE BEST calamari I have had outside of Greece, Sea Bass with crayfish tails, romantica sauce & saute potatoes was out of this world! The only negative of the evening was having to drink up and leave before 10pm.

We booked the Bunk to overnight and break a journey to the South West both outward and on the way home. Had the same room each time. The room was very comfortable apart from several blown light bulbs (the same ones were out on the return journey). Bathroom had a fantastic shower and a dog bed was provided for our pooch. Food was of a very decent standard, if the menu was a little limited - possibly due to Covid ? - beer very good.The hotel is very keen on imposing Covid rules. I'm not criticising that, but a small point to make: The sugar for teas and coffees comes in a miniature Kilner jar and is in lumps. Under the current circumstances, sugar in a bowl with tongs might have been more practical.The dog was made very welcome which always helps.One item to note: The tariff includes breakfast, but it is continental breakfast. If you want a cooked breakfast, it is £10 extra, but well worth the money

The rooms were spacious although quite dusty. We put the fan on and dust flew everywhere. Friends had 2 other rooms and they said the same. Service was a little slow but quite friendly. The food was nicely presented and plenty of it but mostly deep fried. Probably wouldn’t stay again but good value for money.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Sat in the garden. Waited for 25 minutes & then had to go & ask for service. All had roast beef & vegetables & potatoes were ok but the roast beef was the fattiest, chewy beef I have ever had. Would have complained but was with friends we didn’t know very well. In fact would have suggested a large amount off of the bill. Will certainly not be going back!!!

Booked a family meal through Trip Advisor. The atmosphere was lovely and there was plenty of space for us all to relax with the Covid precautions in place. The food was plentiful - good pub grub, especially the sharing plates for starters. Service was friendly. I would recommend this place for a family or group of friends.

Searched trip advisor for a lunch venue, laid back, near Newbury with good food and atmosphere, and was able to book online, and came up with The Bunk Inn, which fulfilled everything.Tucked away in Curridge, a lovely pub restaurant. Friendly staff from the outset that continued until we left. Not too pushy on the service, and gappy to return each time we were not quite ready to order. All the food was tasty, only the soup was warm whereas everything else hot and seemed freshly cooked. Great pies and lovely battered fish. Desserts menu small but great food. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Worth the trip and would go again. Enjoy

We received a wonderful welcome and our poodle was greeted like an old and much loved friend on this, our first visit. The CV19 precautions were comprehensive without being intrusive. The staff were absolutely lovely and the food was great. We visited on spec, would certainly recommend The Bunk Inn very highly and can't wait to find an excuse to visit again. Was greeted very warmly by Chris and was told about the contactless check in which was simple and straightforward. Both rooms that were booked were perfect and had everything in we needed (could perhaps have done with a full size ironing board but there was a mini one provided in the room). All of the staff were so helpful and friendly and Amy definitely needs a mention - a credit to the team. She even came out into the garden especially to say goodbye to us before she went off shift! The food in the restaurant was very tasty and nothing too much trouble. Was wondering how the procedures for social distancing and anti-baccing/cleaning would be dealt with. We needn’t have worried as their protocols were such that it made you feel very safe. It it a one way system for entry and exit, sanitiser is provided at both and all service is table service. There is someone dedicated to looking after outside, all tables and chairs are well spaced and every one is sanitised after someone leaves. Inside the restaurant the tables that are in use have been reduced so that social distancing is observed. Tins of anti bac spray are provided in each room so as well as their own cleaning regime you can spray touch points again yourself which was a nice attention to detail and just added that extra layer of feeling safe. Would I recommend - absolutely!

My husband and I stayed here Frday night and also ate in he restaurantThe room we were allocated was lovely ( Room 4 ) we were reeted by a lovely friendly lady who showed us to our room ... The room itself was light and airy and had fresh cut flowers in a vase which i personaaly thought was a lovely touchWe ate in the restaurant in the evening nd the food was just delicious as was the breakfast in he morning We cannot fault our stay will be returning soon !

Totally delicious food! A wide range to choose from, freshly good and presented well. Staff very friendly and attentive. The guy signing and playing the guitar was an added bonus. Already booked to go again!

Alternate months we make the 250 mile round trip from South Wales to meet family making a similar length trip from the South East. We very much rely on the reviews posted on this platform to make our selection of eatery and have always found them to be an excellent guide, hence we had booked with confidence, only to be very badly let down by the quality of the food.We each ordered a Sunday Roast and had expected the quality to match the relatively high price tag of £15.50 and £16.50 per main but this was far from the case. One lamb meal was hard to cut with the knife, let alone chew, and was tasteless. The quality of the beef was fair, definitely not exceptional. The wrong type of potatoes had been used for roasting as they were waxy, rather than fluffy, and the vegetables were not served on a platter but in a 6" layered turreen hence it depended on the order in which you dipped in whether you got a minute over-roasted baby parsnip, a tiny carrot, a chunk of leek or something green! Definitely not a practical serving dish! Thank heavens there was also small dish of cauliflower cheese which each of us could have an equal stab at. The other great disappointment was all of the meals were served "lukewarm" at best.We did complain about the lamb and it was not charged for and we also mentioned the food temperature which earnt us all a choice off the dessert menu free of charge, which was appreciated, even though the cinnamon crème brulès served would have been better described as a cinnamon flavoured grainy mousse with a brulè topping! and we are not sure what happened to the biscuits which should have accompanied them!Normally we would have finished off our meals with a coffee and perhaps a port for the non drivers but, by this stage, we were so disillusioned that we paid up and walked away wondering whether the chef had rung in sick that day or there was some other explanation for very substandard meals.

Turned up at the hotel tonight, only to be informed that the 2 rooms I that I had booked directly with the "Bunk Inn" had not been resevered. "we are full and can not fit you in". She said.The lady on reception was adamant I had not booked, as she was the only one working on Sunday at 4pm and did not take any bookings. Funny how I managed to see my restaurant booking for 7.30pm tonight on the computer screen, made at the same time as my room booking.NO APOLOGY for their cock up.Very poor attitude and bad customer service.

Just got back from our meal at the Bunk Inn, which we booked as part of a weekend away. The menu options were fantastic and we opted for all vegetarian or vegan since there were so many great choices. We were so impressed with the quality and flavour of the vegan meals and the staff were all very friendly and efficient. We will definitely come back here again, perhaps for a stay as well next time.

We spent our Christmas at the Bunk Inn. The service was spectacular and couldn't fault it one little bit. All the staff were friendly and attentive.The food was exquisite. Thank you so much :-)

We've been here twice for lunch, each time as a break on quite a long journey. Even though it means a little diversion for us, it's our 'go to' place & we can be sure of a nice welcome, friendly & efficient staff, & great food. A few different things to standard pub menus, & a varied selection, from snacks to full meals. Nice wine (I wasn't driving) good coffee, & nice atmosphere. Dog friendly and comfy. Can't fault it.

We have been regulars at the Bunk for many years but the service we received tonight was so poor. Seated by a general menu with a ‘here’s your menus’. No drinks offered. After 15 minutes had to ask for drinks. Then had to ask for wine glasses. Then had to ask for water glasses. Then had to ask for the bill. Food was ok. General managers need to roll up their sleeves if they don’t have enough well trained staff.

Food was poor, service appalling. I had to ask for service 3 times during our meal, my steak was dry and overdone (ordered as medium). I can’t think of anything good to add so that will do.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The evening meal was delicious. There was a good selection of wines too! Live music that evening was a pleasant surprise. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast menu had an excellent variety of dishes. Although we didn't have our dog with us, it was nice to know that they are very dog friendly. We'll drop by again!

Arranged to meet family for a midweek lunch. It was quiet, so it would be nice to see it when it’s busier & livelier. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. The food was good. It was dog friendly and they did accommodate a vegan.

Got this place recommended by a local taxi driver and simply was the best pub food we have ever had. Seasonal, honest and simply superb. And what great service also. 6 stars all round.

Visited with family and friends for a birthday lunch - everyone's food was good and all requests catered for (particularly for the two 4-year-olds we had in our party). Unfortunately the service was so laid back that it was more like we'd been forgotten! Would still revisit as it has been a "go to" for a long time

Went here with a group of friends and all our children. Apart from initial being told they didn't have our reservation(under the wrong name) everything was sorted in a polite and cheery way. The food was great and all brought out in a timely manner. The Beef was superb! I don't think there was anything left at the end which normally tells a good story. Would recommend and will be returning again soon

Went here for a roast recently and I was pleasantly surprised, I am usually hard to please if its not my Mum's roast but it was delicious (and you can even order extra Yorkshire puds!). I would say the only thing that let it down was perhaps the venue is looking a tad tired and could do with a bit of a refresh.

Come in for Sunday lunch to see the restaurant was very busy, the staff was really friendly and helpful and explained they were fully booked and there would seat us at are booked time.

Booked for 4 so we could take my daughter and her friend out of school for lunch. After 1 and a half hours still no main course even after several requests to check on it’s whereabouts.

Went for a late lunch and although busy the service was top notch. Food well presented and tasty. Dog friendly and a great find. Highly recommended x

An unexpected trip to Berkshire found me staying here for four nights and I couldn't have asked for a better temporary home. Lovely newly renovated room, professional and friendly team, comfy bar (open all day) to hang out in and a very talented chef in the restaurant where I enjoyed a succession of some of the best meals I've had for a long time. Breakfast was spot on too, and the setting is delightful - leafy hamlet a short distance from Newbury station. Really look forward to returning.

Visited The Bunk Inn today with some friends. We always meet there as it’s always been a pleasant country pub in a nice setting with good food ........... until today. The food was nothing like we had experienced in the past. We opted for the ‘healthy option’ and have the Superfood bowl which we have had before. What was presented was what can only be described as a bowl of wet leaves with no dressing in a pool of water with no mint etc or anything as described, which would lend any kind of flavour to it whatsoever.

Our expectation was of a super lovely roast in our fairly local village and long time pub. I dont live in the area anymore but had come to visit my Mum. We managed to order a roast albeit late in the day so roast beef was all gone. We had a choice of half a chicken or pork. We were seated straight away but the service overall was terrible. Two young girls who were not that busy but restaurant a quarter full perhaps. It took them a long while to deliver the bottle of wine we had ordered after the water. The table was really sticky and we requested it wiped but the young girl kept spraying the table but without elbow grease and it still seemed sticky although the previous sticky drink marks had disappeared. The owner came and asked if we'd like to move tables but we opted to stay put for convenience as all other tables were large and we were two people, and just lean on the menus as the table was just too sticky to lean on. Apparantely the table had been varnished recently.

Our two nights staying at The Bunk Inn gave us some of the best food we'd had in our three week visit. We were traveling with our three-year old daughter and all of us enjoyed fresh, healthy and interesting meals. With a menu with daily changing specials the fare is always fresh and seasonal. My gosh the sausages, the duck breast, the triple cooked chips, the asparagus and duck egg, the Eton Mess - all brilliant. The kitchen staff were so accommodating to our daughter and we finally found a restaurant that served a side of steamed and raw vegetables - that had been really tough to find! The Bunk Inn also has a fun pub with board games and a cosy atmosphere which we really enjoyed on our final day where we were just too tired to venture far. I'd thoroughly recommend The Bunk Inn to stay and definitely to eat. Thanks so much!

Living locally but not having been here for several years I was interested to see what the Bunk was like these days. Two of us decided to have a late lunch and were able to eat outside as it was pleasantly warm weather. The choice of beers on hand pumps is very good, as is the food. The staff and the very pleasant interior also make it a worthwhile place to visit. We will definitely not leave it so long before visiting again and trying the dinner menu as well.

We went for dinner and stayed over for a friends Birthday. We went up to our room to find the shower cubicle actually in the room!! So there was the bed about an 8 inch gap to the shower - the oddest thing. There was a separate toilet and sink which was fine but to have a shower in your room is bizarre. The glass wasnt even frosted!!

Great pub. On arrival we were told dining room was full so were a little disappointed. However a lovely round table was reserved for us in the bar area which was great and the pub was buzzing with locals. Food was good. Service excellent. Beds were very comfortable and towels fluffy. Room 8 was lovely and spacious except the shower head was very low so you couldn't stand under it! Breakfast was tasty except we all found the sausage rather dense. Would definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful restaurant from the dogs or allows to lounge at the bar to the games lying around for you to play

Welcoming. We were half an hour late for our Sunday lunch booking. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and the lunch was delicious. We will make this our stop off of choice between London and Bristol. Our dog enjoyed his doggy sausage too!

We booked for dinner on a Sunday evening. The menu is small anyway but they had ran out of over half of the starters and two of the mains. I understand they had a busy lunch service but the staff told us with a bit of a carefree attitude and didn’t offer any sort of apology or goodwill gesture, we wouldn’t have gone if we knew the menu was so limited so they should have called us earlier to let us know. For starter, we had a sharing platter between three and it was a very boring platter - very plain and basic and small for three people. Plates were also cleared before everyone had finished. For main the vegetarian lentil bake roast didn’t taste of lentils at all and was very bland, the gravy was far too rich and meat based so not great on a vegetarian dish. Others had the pork which was okay but average and same for the risotto. So not great overall, sorry

I was looking for myself a gf vegan and daughters to lunch near Newbury and this came up. Was not disappointed, we arrived early and our table was ready, the staff were charming and soon we were ready to order, I had a salad which was probably a little over priced with a lack of avacardo, but beautifully presented. My daughters had the Sunday roast and a chicken burger. Yorkshire pudding was splendid as were the chips. The decor was delightful with little corners to hide away in throughout the pub.

Having not booked previously, they were very accommodating and managed to seat us for Dinner. The menu although not extensive,was varied and a two course meal for two plus a very good NZ sauvignon blanc was reasonably priced at just over £60. Very friendly staff and a good selection of Gins !! Well worth a visit.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here tonight .. best food in a long time .. very friendly staff .. warm ambience .. stylish decor .. we can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Nett eingerichtete aber etwas kleine Zimmer. Sauber und gut in Schuss. Highlight ist das Frühstück. Sehr lecker. Klare Empfehlung.

We have been here a few times, it was excellent for a while, then we had a couple of less good visits, and didn't return for some time.

Really great food and good value Roasts at £15 per head. friendly helpful staff, nice venue. Very impressed, will be back.

I had a friend over from Australia and I pre-warned him that the food was usually good but the beer was not great. (Aussies love their beer) So how wrong could I be!

We arrived with our Westie and our friend arrived with her two dogs on a cold, rainy day. We sat round a lovely fire and enjoyed Beef Stroganoff and Chicken and Mushroom Pies. The food was excellent but the welcome we receieved was even better. The owners showed us photos of their dog and even allowed our Westie to try on a waterprooof doggie coat they recommended. We will certainly return having had such an enjoyable visit and really good food.

Me and my wife have just bought a house in the area and have been visiting local pubs. My wife is celiac and we have to be so careful with eating out but I spoke to the new managers who were really helpful and reassuring around their food and preparation. Service was first class, will definetly be back

We had not stayed here before, but had made the reservation some months prior, which was before the hotel changed hands.

13 of us stayed here (4 couples and 5 singles), it was the mens annual fishing weekend and the girls spa morning in the area! Booked a while ago before it changed hands and were a little concerned having read some of the reviews but we shouldn’t have worried! The staff, accommodation and food (good and varied menu and nicely presented) were all superb, so much so we’re already planning to return!

The food was fresh and local with herbs out of their own garden.

Came to Newbury for the day with my family and decided to stop at The Bunk Inn. We have friends that live in the area that recommended it. Unfortunately, we had one of the WORST dining experiences ever. We waited nearly an hour for our food, our server kept forgetting about us, and the managers seemed to have their heads in the clouds. The pub was dirty, food presentation was sloppy and overall it seemed like there was no pride in their work across the board. We don't know if it is the recent change in management or what, but we will certainly not be returning to or recommending this place to anyone.

There was about 30 of us, we had placed our orders weeks ago but we still waited about 40 minutes for our starters and another delay for mains. When the food arrived is was not hot and not very tasty. I can only assume that half the kitchen staff didn't turn up for work that day.

The worst pie ever, and they have a "week pie"....

Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was really good for the price and the whole evening was excellent. I would recommend this country pub /restaurant if you want a quiet drink or a good meal in the restaurant.

Visited on Good Friday. Booked a room and dinner for our wedding anniversary. Perfect setti g for a country walk and drink in the garden before dinner. Staff friendly and helpful, food was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. I especially liked the grapefruit gin recommended by the barman and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The only downside was the piped music from the bar seemed louder in our room than in the bar!

Have eaten here both lunchtimes and evenings and the food is definitely good. The only disappointment we have had with food was with my partner's fish course once where the portion size looked like a sprat on a diet.

Family of five adults and two small children. Pub in a lovely setting. Very warm welcome. Lovely interior. Decent food and reasonably priced

The welcome was warm and efficient. Unfortunately that was the best bit. The pub itself is large with plenty of seating but it need a thorough clean. Old food on the floor ,sticky carpets and tables that needed a good scrub.The lunchtime menu was small with an imbalance between vegetarian dishes and the rest.

Zach and Georgie helped us arrange a party to celebrate our joint 50th birthdays. They were happy for us to invite a local band (in fact they recommended Sam and his band who had played here on New Year's Eve!) to perform in the bar area, and we filled the pub with our friends. We served a curry feast (including a vegetarian option, homemade onion bhajis, naan breads, popadoms, salads and the trimmings) to our guests, followed by a sticky toffee pudding - there was plenty of food and our guests told us they'd really enjoyed the evening. We had a fabulous evening - thanks to the team for keeping the drinks flowing!

Had a mothers day meal with two sides of the family.

I stayed here for the best part of a working week. The room was comfortable and had a reasonable desk surface for working. If I had one criticism about the room it would be the energy saving bulbs. They are a bit dim for my liking.

After seeing the menu I was really looking forward to this meal and the starter was great but it soon went downhill. For main I went with a steak that was cooked on a Himalayan salt block and requested it to be cooked rare. I honestly can’t remember the last time I sent food back but this time I had to. My steak was well done at a minimum with no pink and charcoal on the edges. That’s no problem for me as I know how these things can happen. The waiter then started to argue with me saying he could see some blood on my plate and asked me to cut into my steak, quite embarrassing in front of some work customers. Once I sliced the steak he just took the plate as there was no pink whatsoever. Within a matter of minutes a new steak was presented but chips and veg were cold now. I like my steak raw but I couldn’t help but think this was petulance as this steak was blue. I felt they undercooked on purpose just to wind me up. I ate it as I was so hungry but two of the people I was with commented it made them feel sick.

Attached to a village pub. Nice, clean room with everything you need. Friendly staff. Stayed with my sister so had a twin room. Comfy beds. Nice outlook with horses in field outside.

Looked for a pub or restaurant to meet my colleague in that worked for both of us and The Bunk Inn seemed the best location, as it is just off the M4/A34.

We were 6 for lunch and the food was excellent. We all ordered main courses and the steak and ale suet pie was to die for!

Stopped at the Bunk Inn in Curridge with our dog, Daisy for lunch on our way to South Wales. What a lovely welcoming pub, all the staff were so friendly, chatty and really helpful. I had the most delicious gluten free toastie (best I’ve ever had) and my partner had the Scotch egg with some triple cooked chips...amazing!

Lovely food & nice atmosphere, it was very quiet so we ate in the bar as they’d closed the restaurant off , we didn’t mind , lovely staff

I went to have Sunday lunch at the Bunk yesterday with my family.

We were asked to pre-order due to the size of the party and did so, sat in the large dining room to the front of the building which is a great spot for a larger group. Everything was spot on to what we ordered, including a gluten free option, kids meal and a high chair.

Booked a room as we had stayed before 4 years ago and loved it . Unfortunately things have changed . Our booking did not include breakfast and we only found this out when we sat down for breakfast. Hair dryer in bathroom didn't work and tv in room didn't work. When I mentioned this I was told hair dryer in drawer works . Why not just fix hair dryer in bathroom or tell guest there is one in a drawer ? .on line menu looked lovely but on sitting down to dinner we were given a completely different menu . When I pointed this out I was told online menu was only a guide and hadn't been updated for a month . All in all very disappointing and certainly will not return

Last min dinner on a Friday night been here before, and we pop in - was busy with Christmas party but accommodated is for dinner, had my fav wine Gavi De Gavi and the meals were all wonderfully put together - plated and taste amazing , staff was helpful and accommodating a must try

Booked a room by telephone on the 29th of November, 9 days before arrival.

On checking the greeted with the most rudest receptionist ever in my life the room had no heating to electric heaters the noise from the room above every Creek of the bed every footstep every visit to the toilet couldn’t sleep all night for £109 it was despicable we were told by the rude receptionist the restaurant was fully booked so could only take are order between 6:15 to 45 even though the restaurant only had six people the bar at one group and the rest of the pub was empty ordered two glasses of wine which they had run out of social automatically gave us two glasses of a much more expensive without offering us a alternative first we actually wanted the bottle and was told that we couldn’t if we did she’d charge us for the bottle plus the two glass’s of wine. The meal talk I want two ours service was poor and overpriced , after waiting sometime to pay the bill we was approached by a member of staff asked “what do you want” RUDE

We were last here 3 years ago. It was good then and it hasn’t changed.

The Bunk has changed hands since I last visited (a long time ago) and we thought it would be good to take a walk from Newbury with lunch in the middle in Curridge.
