First time experience, eating at Tony’s great service in this busy little chip shop, and friendly but that’s not good enough, it’s the food that sells a place, and unfortunately food caked in oil and only just warm food with soggy batter, doesn’t cut it with me…. Sadly I won’t be going back

We always order our fish and chips from here but the last couple of times it hasn't been great. The last time wad absolutely awful, we ordered 2x regular chips and they were disgusting, it looked like the potatoes were from the bottom of a very old bag, they were burnt on the edges, cooked in very oil and cold and the overall taste was just rubbish. Ended up where they deserved in the rubbish!

We often order from Tony's but tonight it was an absolute nightmare, the food was cold, the chips looked like they had been dug out of a month old bad and microwaved and the taste was awful. Burnt and black bits throughout. Waste of money as most of it thrown out.

Excellent fish and chips - we asked for small but it was big enough to feed an army!! Great quality, cod was very meaty, batter was super crispy and chips done to perfection!! The staff were fabulously friendly and helpful and the whole place was a buzzing hive of industry - thank you All at Tony’s!! Will definitely visit again when back in Dover!

Wouldn’t go back very disappointed. Doughy batter on poor quality sausages chips so under cooked they fully tasted of raw potato

Great quality fish and very well done chips. Tasty, light batter which really helped compliment the fish. Generous portions sizes. Staff were also very friendly and helpful in what to order, which added to the overall experience. We ordered large cods, chips, curry sauces (again, good portions), mushy peas, scampi and both battered and standard sausage. Highly recommend this traditional fish and chips bar.

In my opinion this is the best tasting fish and chip shop in Dover. Always fresh tasting fish and you can tell the oil is clean. Lovely friendly staff.

Have used Tony's for years. Always pre order and always ready within 5 mins when I get there. Staff are excellent and happy. Been in shop when full of customers who are served promptly and happy. Cod and chips are cook perfectly with my curry sauce as an add on. Misses loves their pickled gherkins(always wrap separately) food of the devil as far as I'm concerned. Would recommend to everyone I know. Well done to you and your staff..

First-rate service with superb fish & chips. The family helped us with 40 portions for a charity evening and every single one was consistent: generous with an excellent piece of fish. And they did this at 6.30 on a Friday evening whilst serving all their other customers! Dover Rotary thank H&H for their suport!

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at "Tony's Fish Bar" before taking the ferry, and it was a delightful experience. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. Not only did he assist us in finding an ATM when we were short on cash, but he also provided excellent service with a touch of humor. The portions were incredibly generous, and we particularly enjoyed the fried pineapple rings – a unique and tasty addition to the classic fish & chips. The prices were incredibly reasonable, making it an affordable and delicious meal. Conveniently, you can park at Aldi nearby, which makes it easily accessible. Highly recommend Tony’s- we were in Dover for a football match and the reviews were good for fish and chips. Ordered cod and chips and happy to wait 7-8 minutes for it to be cooked from fresh. Well worth the wait- cod was moist and cooked to perfection- batter was delicious and not oily. Chips were thick and well cooked. Portion was large and the price was very reasonable. Top marks

Das Geschäft sieht von aussen nicht besonders aus. Der Verkaufsraum ist doch sehr beengt, es gibt auch keine Sitzmöglichkeiten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und sprach sogar einzelne Worte auf Deutsch. Der Fisch und die Pommes wurden beides frisch gemacht. Die Pommes sind selbstgemacht. Der Fisch war sehr saftig unter der Panade. Die Pommes war geschmacklich okay. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und der Preis mehr als günstig für die Menge.

Every other week my daughter has haddock and chips from here. Every week it's spot on. Despite no delivery service we continue to use Tony's as they are worth making the drive for. Best in town.

Lovely fish and chips! We travelled slightly further for these, as our local fish and chip shop isn't as good. The fish was delicious and even 1x large portion of chips was more than 2 of us could eat! Tony's Fish Bar is now our favourite in Dover

Fresh, flavorful, fast, and friendly. The fish and chips were fresh and extremely tasty. We got three cod and two large chips. The large chips are LARGE. This is the place to get fish and chips in Dover!

What this shop lacks in pizazz and showiness, it more than makes up with good straight quality fare. Large cod and chips was exactly that, but the stand out was the quality of the fish and its cooking. Excellent quality fish, in a thin coating that let the fish speak for itself, without any stodge whatsoever. Overall, very good value for what you get, and most importantly, no more shrugging at the end of a fish supper thinking “Oh well, should have been better.”

So.... I've just moved to the area and had tried a few of the chippies in Dover but was not happy at all, their food was disgusting or the fish was greasy... I'd all but given up on finding a chippy we liked 🙏 Then we found Tony's after doing some proper research 😁 OMG this place is the bomb 💣 if you want proper chippy chips, not loaded with grease... Fish cooked fresh each and every time.... Potions bigger than your future and not to mention customer service that goes a long way with a smile then this place is where you want to go 😋!!!!! Fish batter was crispy and fresh, bubbles in all the right places and the chips were so tasty, not dry at all... Best chippy in Dover 👌 Thank you Tony's.... See you soon!!!!

Lovely food always hot and fresh

Delicious piece of Rock, (Huss as it's now known), freshly cooked to order with a light crispy batter, no thick soggy bits that you sometimes get elsewhere, and big thick juicy chips, the lot of it was so delish. Friendly chatty staff too, will defo be back.

Amazing quality fish and chips! Very good price. Turned up wanting three orders of regular chips and medium cod- every single portion was absolutely lush! I'm ashamed to say that 2/3 couldn't tuck it all away- the portions are excellent size. If you don't like the skin on the fillet of fish, this place already removes them prior to battering and frying. As far as I'm aware, this is the only shop in Dover to do it?... Will be seeing you guys again soon!

Lovely fish and chips brought from here. Just a short wait if your order needs to be freshly cooked, packed in a box and bag which keeps the food hot. Service is quick and polite in a clean environment which always seems to be popular and busy.

We keep returning as they do the best fish & chips in town, we have never been let down. Everything we order has been cooked from fresh, you might have to wait around for 5 minutes or so but it’s definitely worth the wait.

Called in for fish and chips supper after shopping. Order 2 large cod, a large plain sausage and 1 large portion of chips. All cooked while we waited so lovely and fresh. The fish portions were really big and very well cooked. Light bubbly batter and soft moist cod inside, perfect. The chips were amazing. Large fluffy chips, hot and golden in colour. Served in separate boxes the food was well worth the money. Would be happy to recommend this takeaway to anyone.

Had fish and chips last night from Tony’s in Dover. Have used this chip shop for over four decades........the quality of the fish was exceptional. Chips great too. Overall, the best fish and chips we have ever tasted.😁 Keep up the good work, staff exceptional.

Just sat down to eat our Fish,battered sausage and Saveloy & chips and what a waste of money! Large cod not cooked throughout with batter slimy and under cooked, battered sausage the same. Chip sandwich it is 🤬

Fish was nice and fresh. But batter too thick. Not cooked long enough resulting in a soggy chewy texture. Same on the sausage. Last few years it has really lost the quality and consistancy. Will be a long time before we try again

Not great haven’t been for over a year and really don’t think we will go again soon. Semi warm chips over cooked burger and as for the battered sausage even the dogs didn’t want it obviously been sat in a warmer

We've recently switched our fish and chip supplier, having become tired of always getting soggy batter from our previous place. Having had three or four visits here now, Tony's is uniformly great, with all the fish coming in separate boxes rather than getting wrapped in paper which causes the sogginess, and the the chip potions are huge - we can order one large and it covers all three of us! Highly recommended.

Second time ive used Tonys and Tonys will definately be my fish and chip shop of choice from now. The portion sizes are great. The batter is crispy and plentiful. Chips and fish tasty. Well packaged and most importantly the couple running the shop and other staff are friendly and clearly proud of their product.

Over the years we’ve tried many fish and chips takeaways in Dover, some more successful than others but recently, well past few months, this has been the ‘go to’ one of choice in our house. The fish is always freshly cooked, sausages are bangin (so my youngest tells me) and the chips are great. Couple this with very good portion size and a price that is very good, it all makes sense why we come here on a regular basis. The staff serving are brilliant, friendly and always have a smile. Top takeaway, will continue to use and we will continue to recommend.
