I bought a medium size portion of chips, they were fresh out of the fryer and cooked just the way they should be - nice and crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. Three of us had cod and chips in the cafe. The place was clean and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was well presented and my first impression was that this was a very large portion of fish, however, it soon became apparent that this was a large portion of batter with the thinnest piece of cod I have ever had. The chips were well cooked but tasteless, the salad was also bland not to mention unwanted with fish and chips. Will back to Papas in Folkestone and the Mermaid in Broadstairs but not here unfortunately.

Disgusting service from the older Lady at the till. Extremely rude . Food was terrible , I actually had to return part of the order which was inedible , to be met with a sarcastic reply from the Staff. Chips were tasteless and a shockingly small portion for the price. Would never eat here again. Complete rip off and up there with some of the rudest service I have ever encountered .

We visit Deal a number of times during the year and pop into the Sea View every so often. the fish and chips have never disappointed us and are always freshly cooked, hot and tasty, with nice big chunks of fish being found under the batter, showing a proper haddock fish. We take away and often eat opposite looking out to the sea and pier. Staff are always friendly and polite and it's always nice to see the food cooked to order.

Visited here on bank holiday Monday with no hope of eating in the restaurant but was pleasantly surprised to be accommodated! From being helped in with a wheelchair user on arrival, to having 7 lovely, fresh, prompt meals served up to us and nothing being any trouble for the lovely lady serving in the restaurant. Cannot recommend this place highly enough! (& my husband said you do the BEST curry sauce he's ever had!)

First time visit with family and friends. Lovely meal and great service. Was very busy but quickly seated and food arrived in good time also. Curry sauce is delicious and the batter was fresh and crispy. Would recommend!

I am wheat gluten and lactose free but you can get scampi and chips which is lovely and the service is so good missed the young lady with dark hair but everyone has to have a night off, looking forward to going back

Lovely chips and location and service, but no good for vegans in particular Gluten Free Vegans. Excellent polite and efficient service. Would love to see Beyond Burgers and Gluten Free buns or Gluten Free battered onion rings/mushrooms etc.

Waited over 25 minutes for our order, but when we came to Eaton, the chips were rockhard very disappointing

We have used this chip shop many times but today 13th August 2024 the fish was o/k butt the worst part was the chips they were flavourless and so crispy that they were hard to eat and tasted awful (worst chips ever). We will never be using this shop again and its a pity that this was once the best place in Deal for fish and chips but not any more.

When we ate here we had my grandson with us Felix is autistic & when he is excited or distressed he can be quite loud . I not only found the food & service excellent but the staff were so nice & understanding . We were visiting from Reading i wish they were local 2 me & i would eat there all the time . I can't recommend them highly enough

We've been regulars at this fish and chip restaurant for about four years, and it's always been excellent. However, we were disappointed when we went there on Sunday after driving for 2 hours from Hertfordshire for our anniversary. The portions were noticeably smaller, and the chips looked almost white, as if undercooked, however, they weren't. The worst part was the taste and texture; the chips were flavourless and so crispy that they were hard to eat and tasted awful (worst chips ever). I voiced my concerns to one of the female staff members, mentioning how many times we've dined there and how disappointing this experience was. I asked them to inform the manager, as our meal was far from enjoyable. I doubt she did. When the second staff member brought the bill, I reiterated my complaint, but she barely responded before taking our £43, which we felt was a steep price for such a subpar meal. To make matters worse, she and the other staff member stood near the fryer, watching us and giggling. We get better takeaway fish and chips from our local fish and chip shop, larger and tastier portions of fish and much better chips that taste nice. We won't be returning in the future to this restaurant.

One of our favourites in Deal. Great fish, chips and battered sausage. My only ask would be that they put gravy on the menu.

We had to wait a little while for a table, but it was lunchtime and obviously busy. Well worth the wait! The Haddock and chips were delicious. Not greasy, just perfect. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Friendly service too.

As frequent visitors to Deal we have been to Sea View fish and chip shop on many occasions. Unfortunately, on our last couple of visits there has been a noticeable decline in the quality of the food. On a recent visit we were shocked by the small size of the piece of fish my husband ordered and the tiny bits of scampi (and not many of them) that I ordered. The portions of chips were a reasonable size but not over generous and were ok but that’s all. A few days later we decided to try the fish and chip shop in Walmer a short distance away and it was fantastic! The fish was much bigger and beautifully fresh and the scampi pieces were much larger and delicious. This is now our “go to” chippy in the area.

Absolutely dreadful service and the waitress couldn't add up 2 meals and 2 drinks even with a calculator! got it wrong again when I queried it and asked to see the menu and added it up again. came down from £33 to .£25 SO BE CAREFUL. she undercharged my brother in law for his meal and then had the cheek to follow him to the toilet to askfor more money! he paid but I know what I'd have said!

We came across this astonishingly good fish and chip place by chance. The food was the best of its type we’ve had in years. Piping hot, crispy and delicious. Excellent friendly service and very clean and fresh surroundings. And a sea view for good measure!

Gosh! The former staff member review speaks volumes!! I came to get a cod and chips a couple of months ago. I always ask for medium (or large) cod and small chips. I've never had a problem in any other shop in New Malden or Folkestone. Or anywhere actually. When I asked for small chips, the chap said they couldn't do that. But that he'd charge me medium and then give me small. HUH?!!! I was so shocked, that I stood there dumbfounded. Stupidly I paid and left with the food. I should have just walked out. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Fantastic gluten free scampi and chips. They also had gluten free sausage and fish cakes.

They offered gluten free options which we were delighted by, the scampi had lots of filling and were tasty. The staff were really nice too

Amazing fish and chips restaurant .We ordered large haddock and chips also drinks, spent less than £20 per person. Everything was so fresh and tasty, staff polite and friendly very helpful. If U'll visit Deal don't miss them strongly recommend

Earlier today me and my family came in for lunch. There was only 5 of us and we waited patiently to be seated, an older women with short hair and glasses asked us how many of us there was and we said 5. And then told us to follow her into a different room which we did then she proceeded to say “ it told you to wait out there” in a very harsh tone. we thought this was very rude and left instantly. Was very disappointed as was looking forward to some fish and chips for lunch.

This very busy and friendly family run fish and chip shop makes wonderfully fresh and tasty fish and chips at a fair price. We have visited before and it is consistently good. If you're visiting Deal, then you must try Sea View.

I mostly use sea view for fish and chips, however I’ve noticed the price is going up (yes I know the price of everything is going up) but the portion size is going down. It’s a real shame as I’ve always like the quality but I also need some level of quantity. I will have to do a a price and portion comparison soon with another local fish and chip shop which I feel is on par quality wise and see who wins. I suspect the other business.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! We shared two cod and haddock traditional plates with extra mushy peas and pickled onions. Totally faultless and we were lucky to get a table in the window too! Would thoroughly recommend and would certainly go there again.

Very disappointing food. Ordered the cod and the whole thing was just white mush/mulch, no actual fish meat at all and half of the chips were just flat crisps that were too hard to eat. Definitely not worth £13. My children didn't manage to eat much of theirs either. Total of £40, could have gone on much better food elsewhere.

I wanted our children to experience proper British chips and Sea View Fish Restaurant were able to provide these for us. The service was friendly and the chips were delicious. The restaurant offers an eat in restaurant and a takeaway and specialises in Seafood from the local area. Food was reasonably priced and I recommend Sea View Restaurant.

We have been to the Sea View Restaurant many times during our Kingsdown Camping trips and their Fish and Chip meals have always been superb. As we had spent a few days in Dover post Christmas we thought we would pop over to Deal for a walk and have a late eat-in lunch at the Sea View. Sadly this time we left rather disappointed as we were served Fried Frozen Chips! What’s going on? May have been a temporary measure by Sea View to get over some short term problem (who knows) but would have liked to have been informed first. Fresh Fish and Chips is what we were looking for and expecting- not use of Frozen chips thank you! Staff were still friendly and efficient as usual though.

Hi, We visited Deal pier today, Dec 8th 2023 and afterwards popped in the Sea View restaurant for some lunch. We hadn't booked, walked in off the street and were greeted by friendly chatty staff and were made to feel welcome. I had the large haddock and chips, mushy peas and a pickled egg. My wife had the Large Cod and chips. Our meals were cooked to perfection. The batter was light and crisp, the fish was superb on both meals and revealed fresh white flakes as you cut into the good sized fillets and the chips were crisp and tasty. Both meals were presented with accompanying salad. It was a fantastic fish and chip meal. The resteraunt was smart and very clean and the staff were great. Mugs of tea were good too. Definitely worth a visit.

All in all a great place for a fish and chips dinner, we have been coming here for years and do recommend to guests. Cod was fantastic tonight, chips great but we did feel the halloumi starter was a bit small. After a lovely day out looking at properties and visiting Walmer Castle Christmas 🎅🏼 Experience going home to cook was not looking appealing 😉 Our only other down side is one of our three children wanted a large meal (under 12) and the other (who is over 12) wanted a large meal but we were told we had to order both large meals no exceptions which when you have a child who hardly eats and then most of the adult portion was left is a little frustrating. I felt a little bit of leniency could have been more helpful. All in all 5 dinners, a couple of sides, drinks came in at £73, good value in the current day and decent portions.

The food here is amazing and delicious, the staff here are very friendly and nice. We was served by 2 lovely and kind waiters, who made sure to check on us and provided excellent customer service. The portions of the food was great. I highly recommend this place😊

Got takeaway fish and chips. Very poor quality fish, looked like it came from a box out the freezer and considering this is a seaside town you expect to get freshly caught freshly battered fish. What I got was certainly NOT freshly caught or freshly battered more like Iceland supermarket. Chips were not good either. Extremely disappointed. Do not recommend a takeaway here at all.

On our two day trip to Deal, we are here twice. Best fish and chips we have had in a long time. Fresh fish, batter to die for. The service was brilliant and the staff are very friendly. Will definitely return!

The best fish and chips we’ve had in a long while!! It was quickly cooked to order making it super fresh. We decided to have them open so was able to eat in the sunshine, across the road and on the beach - perfect!

Former employee review: I had a mixed experience working at Sea View. While the food quality was commendable, there were certain issues that left me disappointed. The management's policy of deducting staff tips for mistakes was disheartening, and I found it unprofessional when I was asked to pursue a customer who left without paying—an action that is both illegal and goes against common hospitality practices. Additionally, I was expected to cover the customer's unpaid bill from my own wages, which seemed unfair. Overall, the work environment left room for improvement in terms of ethical and professional standards.

Rude old fish face who works here. We only asked if there was any tables and she was so rude, she said no and practically rushed us out the door right behind us and slammed the door, I mean how rude seemed like she Couldn’t wait to get rid of us. disgusting customer service she has what a rude abrupt ignorant person and thats what they have working at this place Serving customers. Disgraceful. She looks like a battered old fish so miserable.

Had a fish and chip lunch and it’s the best I’ve had in a very long time. Everything about it was good quality, hot and very well cooked. It’s nice crispy batter and not greasy. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and spacious. The staff are very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

This is our go to fish restaurant by deal beach it turns out we know the owners family from dimchurch where my partner is from. Friendly service never wait long for food despite it being busy. Our favorite is the haddock delicious, portion size is ample for a hungry man. We usually follow it up with an ice cream sat on the sea front. Its usually windy so nice on the hot days.

This my second visit to Seaview Restaurant. My partner and I enjoyed haddock and chips. The fish is fresh, the batter is delicious. Highly recommend. 😋

This sea front place offers both eat in and take away, the latter being slightly cheaper. A medium Cod & Chips in the restaurant was £12.95. The fish was fine; the chips a little disappointing (rather pale and slightly underdone); and the salad garnish excellent (top quality ingredients very freshly prepared).

Went to Sea View with our son, daughter in law and granddaughter’s. They had visited previously and were raving about how yummy the food was in Sea View. Well, we cannot disagree. Two of us had cod and chips, 2 Rock and chips, and two scampi and chips. What can we say but......the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. We live in Bournemouth and have plenty of fish and chips restaurants, some boasting about the freshness of newly caught fish, but Sea View was above and beyond. Every meal was great. The staff were attentive without being over the top and hopefully we will be back again for another delicious meal.
