Amazing Service would 100% recommend going if you want good pub food

We booked for lunch yesterday & after a delay we were shown to our table. We then waited for around twenty minutes for someone to take a drink order & before the drinks arrived we were asked to place our food order! Drinks finally arrived about 30 minutes after sitting down, swiftly followed by our starters. Just minutes after our starters arrived so did our main course, but as we had just had minutes to eat our starters the young waitress took the mains away again. Starters were removed & four plates of dried up looking food arrived ( having been kept under a heat lamp , which the young waitress admitted.) I had asked for rare beef but the beef was brown & over cooked. When I asked for it to be replaced with some rare beef that request was refused as I was told they “ don’t serve rare beef!” Looking at other diners plates & photos on their website I know this is NOT the case! When we pointed out that we had been waiting a long time for drink orders etc to be taken we were told that the long waiting time was due to staff shortages! Would I return? NO! I have visited before & the waiting time to be served again was ridiculously long, but for me to be denied the food that I had ordered & to be told an untruth as obviously the chef couldn’t be bothered to actually produce what had been ordered was for me the last straw. We didn’t complain yesterday as we were celebrating a belated birthday & therefore didn’t want to spoil the day, but also we felt it was unfair on the young waitress who were very pleasant & just trying to do their job.

We had a great time at The White Hart. The Sunday roast was fantastic, and Chelsea and Dan took such good care of us with their friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. We’ll definitely be back! 🥰🤗

Served by Daniel - lovely chap, made us feel right at home. Great knowledge of the menu, and most importantly the ales on tap. Delicious food, as per usual. Has to be said, there's another pub down the road but frankly its overpriced and the service just isn't the same. Can highly recommend the White Hart if you're visiting Pirbright. Their recent renovation has added an extra bit of class and ambience too.

A friend and I meet every 2-3 months at The White Hart. Would certainly recommend the lunch menu, we were spoilt for choice. See you again soon!

Easy to find, easy parking, friendly staff. Overpriced lager and food however. No vegan main course was available, so I had to choose a couple of side orders of which the potatoes were luke warm. Plus no table service, so it was a case of keep getting up and down. This was a table in an area of the pub I was asked to sit when I came in and said I was alone, I may add. Definitely won't be returning which is a shame as the interior looks very nice. The toilets are up some stairs which walk pass a dining table rather too closely. I wouldn't want to sit there when it's busy !

This was an awful dining experience. After ordering 2 mojitos we waited around 15 minutes and still no drinks, chased them up and the waitress hadn't actually placed the order (she didn't write down our order when asking what we would like so it doesn't surprise me) The pub wasn't busy that night and there were many servers so unsure what happened. The manager then heard us complain about the drinks but didn't acknowledge us, the mojitos were awful, just poured out of a bottle rather than a proper cocktail, for example no ice in the mojito. We left these drinks. We both ordered the lamp rump one of us had a nice meal the other wasn't edible it really was purely fat, we had to send this back we were offered another but it was too late as we should be eating together not us eating separately. This was my friends birthday meal so a shame as she ended up with no meal (I did write this on our booking but no one acknowledged this). So I ate my meal and my friend didn't have one. She then ordered a pudding which was meant to have raspberries but it turned up without the candied raspberries and just plain blueberries. No one advised this or acknowledged, when we raised this she just said yes that happens if they run out. The pudding was £9.50 which is an outrageous price for such a small pudding cream Brulé. Terrible from start to finish sadly and no one seemed to care about this.

Absolutely fantastic evening. Food was divine, service exemplary and ambience charming. Certainly worth another visit or two or three……

The menu is amazing, the garden is really nice. Chelsea and Daniel, especially gave us great recommendations and prompt service. Overall, a great place to grab some nice food and a beer.

I recently visited The White Hart and had a great experience, thanks to Chelsea and Dan. Chelsea was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Dan, working the bar, recommended some excellent drinks and clearly knows his craft. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and their excellent service made the visit even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Came here for a Sunday lunch. Nice location good atmosphere ordered scallops and goats tea starters both of these were absolutely brilliant. Presentation was phenomenal. However, for mains ordered the pork belly and seabass, The pork was dry. Crispy veg was overcooked and the additional tenders and broccoli was overcooked. The roast was overly flavour. Perfection again let down the veg and the additional serving the meal was presentation was nice. Nice venue, just recommend you avoid the roast on Sunday.

The food was average but service was appalling. Totally ignored by the waiter I went to the bar to get my own drinks. Food arrived and wasn't what we ordered! Just don't bother !

A super pub " on the corner" the food and menu on Sunday is good and fabulous for family and friends. Service was a little slow but fine in the end (just). The service was good overall if also a little slow probably die to the number of people and the kitchen unable to keep up. A good sized car park to ensure you can get there and out easily and the outside area is great

We've just had a Friday night here. It has changed. It wasn't bad before, but this time it was excellent. The place has changed for the better. Everything was perfect. We arrived early evening to a thriving, throbbing bar. Lots of people chatting. We were shown to our table and the noisy bar could hardly be heard. What a great start. The waiter was witty, relaxed and very pleasant. Nothing was a problem. He was great. The food and drink were just excellent too. We'll be back for sure. About 2 years previously I wrote ...Book ahead! It's easy to do by phone. A very enjoyable experience, with a tiny niggle - the busy waiting staff were very quick with everything, but did give us time to settle and read the menu at the beginning and for dessert, but they were too quick at interjecting when we were talking. Having said that our food was delivered and enjoyed and we'll certainly be going back!

We'd driven past The White Hart countless times and we finally decided to visit. We were incredibly impressed by the quality inside the venue. It had so much character and was beautifully decorated. The menu was interesting, varied and exciting. The food was well prepared and the service was great. It was a lovely evening out and we'll definitely be returning soon!

Had the most fantastic lunch at the White Hart today. Service was excellent and very COVID conscious. But still friendly and entertaining. Food was the best also that I’ve had We were a group of 6 with varied tastes and all loved it. Thank you very much to all the team at the White Hart!

Often come here to eat a late lunch. Food avaliable all afternoon & it's very nice. Sit in or eat outside in the spacious garden. Would thoroughly recommend.

Lovely visit on Sunday for a birthday meal. Starters, mains and a couple of desserts, all delicious. Restaurant was busy but attention and service by staff was excellent. Great outside terrace and grassy area to sit on either rattan furniture or picnic benches. Toilets were up 6 or 7 steps but there is an accessible toilet downstairs next to the bar. Plenty of parking available next to pub. Great lunch out.

Great recommendation We are staying in the area due to my daughter being in a competition, but it was also her birthday. The white hart was recommended by the lady on reception at the hotel, as I was looking for somewhere nice to take her. Lovely welcome, from the staff. Food was really tasty, we took our puddings outside as it was a lovely evening.

Would just like to thank the staff today. Maya was so attentive and couldn’t have gone more above and beyond. I had a challenge with the wine I ordered but the male manager couldn’t have been more accommodating to ensure I was happy with the end result. I appreciate it is very easy to leave negative reviews as you feel the need to complain. But equally, credit where credit is due. This place is run by lovely staff, and topped off with beautiful food. Thank you

We had a brilliant time here last weekend for my birthday party. The team were so accomodating and we reserved a space in the garden for 40 people! Such great service, seemless, thanks to all the team!

Good quality food, but not the top that I have had. Would be 4.5 if that was allowed.

Service was okay but things asked for three times and forgotten-mushrooms overdone on pizza, took a while for the drinks to come.

Really beautiful gastro pub in the heart of Pirbright village. We stopped here whilst on a walk around the area and we're surprised at how lovely the pub was. A great outside beer garden plus beautifully decorated indoor seating area. Would visit again.

My friend and I went for lunch today. It's not my first time here but it was hers and she loved it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, I had the prawn, crab and chorizo linguini and it was delicious. My friend had macaroni cheese and fries and said likewise. Plenty of choice on the main menu and a 2 or 3 course lunchtime menu as well. Plenty of space outdoors and indoors and reasonable prices. Definately worth a visit.

Such a gem of a place! It's the ideal gastropub. Beautiful decor, but cosy. Delicious food, but not pretentious. Simple food done extremely well. Welcoming and friendly staff, but not officious or overbearing. A special shout out to our waiter, Ollie. He was brilliant. Fast, friendly service with a charming smile. When there was a slight issue with the custard (served at room temperature and not very much of it) he went quickly to the kitchen and returned with lashings of proper hot custard that made my friend very happy indeed. We shall return soon and with great pleasure recommended this place to everyone.

I have known the White Hart since 1974 and have seen many changes in ownership and structure. A very nice little pub! Just undergone another change. Got rid of all the low tables and chairs, now sit on high chair and have high round tables! More tables in Garden. This time (June) last year had our beers in the garden - where is our Summer?

Food was not up to standard. Pork belly 60% fat with very small portions. Went home still hungry.

Absolutely fabulous birthday meal. Service was great didn't wait long for any of our orders. First time here will certainly return.

Had a absolute horrible experience Waited 15 mins to get a table after having it reserved Booked two tables of 4 people each and then tried to tell me I only booked one table after having two text messages from them to say I had two reservations booked , asked for a fillet steak I was asked did I want a 7oz or 10oz I said I would have the 10oz medium well , to only receive a ribeye steak rare after over a hour waiting on the food , when I had asked the waiter to see what was going on I then had to wait for a manager to come to explain this was the wrong steak I then had to wait for a general manager to then get the most rude service I’ve ever had in my life that a general manager was raising his voice at me trying to tell me it was my fault . I definitely will never step foot back in the restaurant again HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Never felt Under threat in my life in a restaurant until now.

A wonderful evening out last night at the White Hart 30/05/24. The food was excellent, service fantastic and a great atmosphere. All in all a very enjoyable evening for a family of three. Will be going back very soon.

Food is hugely overpriced and very very average. Starter of ‘rustic breads’ was 4 bits of toast and some butter etc £7! Service was good and staff were pleasant.

After a trip to Guildford we decided to visit the White Hart in Pirbright the first time for about five years or so. We couldn’t remember why we stopped going there. Our spur of the moment choice was a good one because ( for a Monday lunch time) it has great atmosphere, friendly welcome and service from staff and really good food with value for money. We will not leave it five years this time, we are going back as soon as possible.

Second time here since their refurbishment and as well as a real good new look, the staff and food excelled! The friendliness of staff could not go without being mentioned. Super attentive and kind in their manner. The food was sublime and extras added or removed at our request was never an issue! Back again 7th May!

Really disappointing experience at my local :( has the management and chef changed?!? Food was poor - watery battered fish and had to take desserts back they were so badly microwaved. And then to top it off we ordered coffee with the dessert. The coffee never came after 4 times of asking...

We arrived as a party of seven without a prior booking and were accommodated in the dining area. The food was good and we were particularly pleased to have a couple of vegan option, I highly recommend the vegan lasagna, adequate sized portion for me but add a side or two for bigger appetites.

Our server was excellent, polite, courteous and returned to check we were happy, great service and welcoming staff. Cannot fault the food or the service. Highly reccomend.
