Staff was really welcoming and friendly. Easy to order, clear displays of the menu. Food was relatively quick to be served. Their food is amazing, and their milkshakes are even better!

Got a bacon sandwich and a flat white for takeaway. The bacon sandwich was quite unimpressive, with just untoasted white bread, some bacon and sauce. The coffee cup had a wrong lid, which fell off when I started drinking the hot coffee. Not necessarily all bad about this place, but my experience for takeaway in particular wasn't that great.

Always come here for a breakfast. Top quality sausages and great friendly service.

Is there a pattern to when you’re open ? Banging cafe but you’re always closed on random weekends

Good quality sausages. Eggs nicely cooked. Bit heavy handed on the butter/margarine. Unfortunately I visited the first day back after their holiday. Consequently despite paying for mushrooms I was told 10 min later that they didn't have any. They asked what I wanted instead and I said bubble but that also wasn't ready yet. Nice warm friendly service.

Visited for a breakfast this morning, food piping hot and fresh with huge portions! The veggie breakfast was one of the best I had, loved the bubble and squeak. This will definitely be our local cafe from now on.

Slow service , very average breakfast with over cooked toast and undercooked sausages again , I asked for well done sausages just so they cook the skin properly, only thing that let's this place down . A good vet could bring it back to life.

I'm a regular customer here. The food is always cooked fresh and is always very tasty. Staff are very nice as I have now got to know them. Currently open only for takeaway until we are unlocked.

Carriages cafe is a lovely clean environment with meat, eggs, ham and cheese all from the butchers all the bread comes fresh from the bakery everyday. The staff are kind and efficient, it’s lovely place to take the whole family, open 7 days a week and they do all breakfast to takeaway, Highly recommend!!

We’ve visited Carriages twice in the last month for takeaway weekend breakfasts during Covid whilst cycling in the area and the food has been great both times. The staff are really friendly, and service quick. There has always been an order in ahead of ours but we were able to give our order, pay and get our coffees whilst waiting for our food. Everything is freshly cooked and the meats are of really good quality which makes all the difference to the breakfast. We’ve been trying out a few cafes in the area during Covid to help support local businesses and the cheap sausages and bacon at other places are what draws them back. Can’t say that about Carriages where the sausages are very good and bacon thick, but prices just as reasonable as other cafes. Everything is freshly cooked and served hot. We have had bacon & egg / sausage & egg baguettes on both visits but can’t wait to try the full breakfasts once the cafe is open for normal service again. It’s also worth mentioning that they do deliver currently and their Facebook page gives good updates on this. Great work Carriages, we will be back.

When it’s open which is hardly ever, don’t expect any service, it’s like they cannot be bothered. Some people just don’t seem to want to work anymore, if you don’t like your job then go do something else rather than let customers feel your negativity

Worst cafe experience I have had ever! Dirty tables, terrible attitude from staff, food was horrible. There is something wrong with this place. Much better cafe 1 mile down the road.

Probably the best cafe locally the girls are great food is great and the service is amazing.

the food is good and decent price, but all to often the place is closed so have to go somewhere else. No pattern to it, random days it is just closed for no reason? I have heard it has staffing issues?

I use the cafe at least once a week for breakfast meetings with my team. The food is always cooked perfectly, staff super polite and the Cafe is very well kept.

I work 2 doors up from this cafe, I see they keep a very clean cafe, all food is fresh and the meat is delivered by Wood’s butchers a very highly respected local butcher. Good value breakfast and lovely staff, I highly recommend.

Often use this cafe as takeaway, sandwiches etc whilst waiting for onward train journeys, staff always efficient friendly. Today time for a breakfast. Plenty of seating, clean environment, friendly service. Loads of choice for breakfast. Pleased with my selection food freshly made and heartily recommended. A nice cafe good food.

I’ve been here many times and never been disappointed. The breakfast I just had was really good. They cook everything fresh with good ingredients. Great clean place and crazy value. Treat your self it’s good for a weekend treat for the family too.

Popped in for breakfast early-doors. A nice café with parking outside and an extensive menu to choose from. It was clean and tidy. The service was excellent, pleasant and came with a smile. The food was plentiful, well cooked as well as being at a reasonable price. Free tea top-ups with a numbered breakfast - always a bonus. The tea was good too. All in all a wonderful start to the day.

What a wonderful discovery! If you need a breakfast ( morning after the night before !) then this is the place ! Great options to choose from and the staff are happy to accommodate if you want to change things about! Breakfast for the peckish, the hungry , the starving and the haven’t eaten for a while !! There is even a massive breakfast challenge not for the faint hearted!! Clean, tidy, lovely staff ! Breakfast is cooked fresh, so you may have to wait but you won’t be disappointed! Decent sausages, decent bacon, not your nasty cheap ingredients. Just a lovely lovely place !

All the regular English breakfast stuff, in pleasant surroundings great value and friendly service. What more can you say.
