Oh wow! gorgeous food, lovely service and beautiful setting. We came for Sunday roast and were really impressed. Locally sourced meat - the waiter was knowledgeable when we asked about their suppliers. I had the pork belly and my partner had the chicken. We loved the way they served the cabbage and the cauliflower cheese was delicious. The pork and chicken were beautifully cooked. Very generous portions - I couldn’t eat lol my roast potatoes. We had the pannacotta for dessert. One of the best I’ve had

My daughter took us out for my 60th Birthday on Sunday for lunch. We all had the chicken and pork roast’s which were delicious. We had desserts and because it was my birthday I had a special plate presented to me which was a nice touch. The staff were very attentive and the waitress we had was bubbly and friendly. Well worth a visit.

We had a lovely lunch today at the Tiger. The mussels were gorgeous and the liquor delicious. My partner had the pork bites which he loved. The dessert was also gorgeous and really well presented . I had the cherry cheesecake and cherry ice cream and could have eaten it again in Thea’s so delicious. My partner doesn’t usually have a dessert but he has the pancetta and thought it was delicious. I tried their Kentish kiss cider that I hadn’t seen before, also lovely and the waitress Sophie was friendly polite and really worth her weight in gold We shall definitely go there again and recommend to friends and family Thank you

Our wonderful local has been going a few years now since the new owners took over. So often quality suffers after the initial high of getting going. Not at The Tiger. An off-cuff Sunday lunch for the two of us today was just spectacular; service, food, atmosphere just great. Keep going Hugh, Tiegan and team! 👏

Recently re-opened after a major refit. We arrived to an almost full venue, creating a buzzing, welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted on arrival, despite the staff being ultra-busy, and shown to our table.Staff were attentive and our order was taken fairly quickly. The food (bread, oils and olives to start, fish n chips and pulled duck salad mains) was served quickly, so no hanging around waiting for ages (brilliant)!Good choice of beers, wines & spirits to accompany the food.Atmosphere was buzzing all evening - tremendous experience!Dickie the host is the perfect person for this venue; convivial, charming, engaging - brilliant!Only down-side is the limited parking, but the place itself, the staff and the food are amazing and well worth putting up with the parking!Back (very) soon…!

This place has been totally refurbished and looks lovely. The food is great and prices bit high but worth it. Unfortunately the barman has very little in the way of people skills and is somewhat rude and unhelpful by his lack of communication. He appeared to be ignoring us and was unhelpful. Other than that the pub is great.

Had a lovely meal here last week. My husband and I were both very impressed, vast improvements since a couple of years ago; delicious menu and food and excellent service. Only reason for the 4* is that there isn't much parking but there's not too much that can be done about that. All in all, we very much enjoyed ourselves!

We ate here one lunch time , overall looked very nice , friendly staff , nice lay out . Smelt a bit funny but think that might be the hops hanging up . Me and my husband shared the baked Camembert ( as it said a whole one ) they gave us extra bread which was nice , it was lovely ! . Then my husband had the belly pork looked amazing big potion too ! He couldn’t eat it all . I had the fish n chips omg the dish was huge and so many said home made chips but they weren’t couldn’t eat them all fish was nice but didn’t know where to start as it was plonked on top of all these chips got a side plate and put the peas on there , was lovely but disappointed at the home made not home made chips but other then this was nice , couldn’t fit a pudding in but the person opposite us had cheese cake n it was like HUGE ! .

We seems to come here every few years when we are staying nearby. It is a wonderful, dog friendly, country pub, tucked away in a quiet valley. The food was good rather than excellent. My wife enjoyed her waffle desert but I felt my cheesecake felt the same as I could get in a chain pub just about anywhere. I expect better when I am paying more than average. However all in all a pleasant pub with good food and beer.

It was the first time my partner and I had dined here and everything was excellent. Lovely greeting on the windiest day of the year and we were offered drinks at the bar prior to dinner so there's no rush to get to the table. That means you're not going to be rushed through your meal for another booking. There's a choice of three real ales and the wine list is extensive enough to include English wine. We both opted for the mixed meat roast and boy what a serving! Four different meats and a lovely seperate dish of mixed vegetables to share. Sort of glad I didnt order a starter because I would never have eaten as much of my main meal as I did. Desserts looked good but couldn't fit one of those in either. We'll definitely be back as The Tiger Inn has been put firmly at the top of our best Sunday lunch list.

We went for a family today as my sister was visiting. It was a bit of a last minute booking as we were struggling to find a nice country pub that catered for vegans but then I remembered the Tiger Inn was always very good although a few years since my last visit. I checked their website and the menu had dishes marked as vegan friendly - awesome but will have a table - luckily yes.On arrival we were given a warm welcome and given a choice of tables. The service was friendly and informative but not rushed. We ordered a local bitter and a decent Chablis before then ordering our food.Three of us had starters and all were good. Again good service but not rushed so after finishing our starters and a short break the mains arrived - sea bass, seafood platter, belly pork and vegetable pie - all delicious and good sizes portions.Unfortunately we were too full to fit in a desert!Well done and thank you to all the team there - you're doing a stellar job. Will certainly be back again.

Went here on a Friday evening for an end of the week night out with friends. We ate from the Christmas menu and were not disappointed. All the courses were well presented and tasty. The prawn starter that one of us had was amazing and the Turkey dinner that three of us had was hot and really lovely. No complaints at all about the food or the service. Supported this place many times & always had good food... But yesterdays christmas lunch with my Dad was awful!Asked for Crayfish cocktail..Got rubbery Prawn cocktail floating in sauce on a manky bit of lettuce served in a desert bowl2 roast turkey main courses were not much better than a school lunch! Yorkshires were dry & like cardboard.. Roasts were dry & over cooked.. Turkey tasteless.. Dad had scallops which the presentation was not great.. looked like Scallop Soup! Dad said chips were awful again dry some not cooked through. What i dont understand is that we were there by 1230 midday so surely our roast turkeys would have been freshly out of the oven not been left under a heat warmer as ours had clearly been! One postive note Staff always friendly & attentive.. Our son took us for a lovely meal at the tiger inn, we all had mussels to share as a starter and it was so good....always a must at the tiger, my husband and son both had the porterhouse steak which was cooked to perfection, I had the fillet which sadly was overcooked and a bit tough, the lovely Mille couldn't have been any kinder about the situation (even though the kitchen tried to blame her which was very unfair) what a wonderful waitress, she said that she Hope's this had not left a bad taste and hoped that the this would not put us off from coming back, which because of how lovely and professional she was will definitely not be the case, if only all waitresses would be as wonderful as Mille....we will be back very soon. I don’t normally tend to use trip advisor but what I witnessed on Friday afternoon was shocking. My partner and I had just come in for a quick drink to hear an argument happening in the bar by what seemed a rather frustrated customer about a comment made to one of the young ladies working in the bar. The gentleman stood on the bar seemed to be rather arrogant and up himself, refusing to apologise. About 30 minutes later, a young girl comes out the door absolutely distraught! The pub itself is a gorgeous place and the food is exceptional. However, if this is how staff are treated here, I will seriously contemplate coming back.

My hubby and I decided to visit the Tiger Inn (a lovely village local) for Sunday Lunch after walking the dog across the North Downs. Unfortunately it didn't live up to it's reputation. The staff were friendly enough but the food and the service were sadly lacking especially as it didn't appear to be that busy. We waited quite a while for our food so expected it to be freshly cooked however when it arrived my hubby was so disappointed with his Lamb Roast. The meat (had dried out) and potatoes (if you could call them potatoes and not rocks, hubby nearly broke a tooth on one of them which meant the rest got left on the plate) turned up first with a 10 min wait for veg!! When the veg arrived it was mushy and tepid, had seen better days and had obviously been standing for a while before being brought to the table. Following our meal, we ordered coffee, hubby went to the bar to order and also mentioned the problem with the roasties and the veg which had been left on his plate, he was met with a non-committal shrug of the shoulders and a conciliatory "I'm sorry about that sir". We waited 15 mins for coffee, then went and checked where it was... it arrived 5 mins later, luke warm!!! On a happier note, I ordered a meat platter that didn't need cooking so when it arrived it was fine. It's such a shame, when I read reviews I try to look at it from both the side of the customer and the establishment and I'll make a judgement decision before deciding to go or not (we all know that some bad reviews are over-inflated for dramatic effect). Unfortunately, we decided to ignore the reviews and go the Tiger Inn, which turned our to be the wrong decision.

We came for a get together yesterday after another restaurant had cancelled on us so came here after hearing really good reviews. Disappointed to say I dont share the same views. Only after many of us ordered the pork belly did the waitress forget to tell us that it had changed with the menu and came with kale. She couldn't tell us really what was in it. We ordered some more bread with the camembert which came after we had finished our starters. The special was much to creamy for many to eat I'm sure that's personal taste however one steak was not nearly as nice as the other even though both cooked rare. Had to wait a long time for the sauce to come out with the steak and other simple sauces such as ketchup. Side of chips was forgotten which we then had to wait again a long time for (granted these were taken off the bill) but dinner was nearly over by the time they came out. The burgers were very lovely however no salad in the burger not asked if wanted salad or pickles just assumed salad which looked like it had better days no sauce in the burger literally just a plain cheese burger and chips but as stayed as above the burger meat itself was lovely however the only main that got compliments. The chicken pate tasted more of tuna and most people agreed couldn't taste any chorizo in. The waitress kept admitting she was very tired and keeps forgetting things not very professional I must add! Overall had high hopes for this place but unfortunately would probably not return due to many mistakes and the food I would say not above average. Shame really

Both meals were really nicely presented and freshly cooked - lovely light batter. The children’s menu had a good selection of ‘proper’ food - my son had the haddock and chips, which was just a smaller version of my husbands - nice to see properly home-cooked kids meals rather than frozen things! The menu is very reasonably priced for the quality and service was excellent. We really enjoyed our meal and will return .

I came in on Thursday with my family, we came in for a late lunch. The pub is such a lovely building, as soon as we came through the door we got a beaming smile from the waitress who then sat us down at our table, which was laid very lovely. The young waitress told us about what was on today and the specials. Once we settled my son in law decided he wanted to go to the bar to see what he would like to drink. A few minutes later he came back very infuriated and explained to us that he went to the bar and the ‘manager’ was standing there just staring Out the door, he didn’t even acknowledge my son in law was standing there to ask about the drinks, so we waited for the young lady to come back. A few moments later she came back to the table and we explained to her what had happened and she apologised on his behalf and took our food and drink order. Our food came within 15 minutes and we was very impressed by the presentation. The young waitress kept checking to see if we was alright and if we would like anymore drinks or a jug of water for the table, once she came back with the jug of water we asked if she was alone and she said it was just her and the manager behind the bar and we asked her name and I belive it was Deana? The poor young lady was running around catering to other guests aswell as keeping us happy while the ‘manager’ Was just standing behind the bar waving his arms around when he spoke to customers at the bar. Once we finished our food she came within a few minutes to take our plates and once again the manager was standing behind the bar chatting while she was running around alone. I’m feel terrible for the young lady as she has been working very hard and once she walked behind the bar he seemed to give her a bollocking for a glass? (All I could hear) we then got our bill, wished her good luck and Thankyou for ge service and left. The experience was great the management was awful and I won’t be returning is this continues.

Went for a family meal. Staff friendly, venue very nice, but the food was very disappointing. Starters were fine but main courses were a let down. Pork belly was good; but vegetables very overcooked. Fish and chips satisfactory. Nachos tasted good, but once through the whole nachos at the top the rest appeared to be the broken remnants of the bottom of the packet. Worst by far were the ribs from the specials board; cold, tasteless and with extremely overcooked corn on the cob. I cannot actually think of a poorer meal I have been served. Because I tried to eat it, no refund offered. Will not be eating there again... it was just awful.

We came away to Kent for the bank holiday and found this beautiful pub in the village in which we are staying. The menu online looked great, so we immediately booked a table. On arrival, we sat outside for a couple of drinks, before sitting down at our table in the bar. I ordered the tagliatelle with paprika prawns and my daughter and partner shared some garlic bread. I was served 1 1/2 shell on prawns, no paprika in sight and the sauce was clearly just tinned tomatoes with NO seasoning whatsoever. A family dining alongside us had ordered the prawn sizzler from the specials board, as did my partner. On seeing it arrive next to us, the gentleman immediately sent it back- a pile of plain white rice with chilli sauce drizzled round the edge, with a little dish of fried shrimps alongside. I couldn’t allow this to be served to my partner so I immediately cancelled the order, paid for drinks and starters, and left. Still £38 worse off and still needing an evening meal. The only positive is the building itself and the setting, and the FANTASTIC bar tender. I felt sorry for him having to deal with complaints, which he did so very well. The “chef” is, I’m afraid to say, totally incapable of creating anything beyond a very basic offering, and thus the menu and prices should reflect this, or he should be replaced. You would get better food at a Harvester or Wetherspoons.

The food was ok and reasonably priced. However the service really let the place down. Although the staff were nice enough, they really lacked speed, efficiency and an ability to take and deliver orders

Several people I know raved about this so booked a table for my 50th. The setting and venue was amazing. My son had to stir his coffee with a knife as there were no spoons with our coffees (I didn’t realise he had done this until after) the staff didn’t seems to be about much to ask, we also wanted extra gravy but gave up. The vegetables were cold when served and had to ask them to be reheated. My chicken was Luke warm as thought it had been coined and left for the other meals to be ready too. We had a nice time but feel that unfortunately it wasn’t the best meal we had, so sad as thought I would be singing it’s praises.

Really great local pub we discovered via Facebook. Responsive for bookings, accommodated a large group and were sympathetic about a last minute time change. Some amazing beers (try the Tiger Bitter) and some great roast dinners. Brownie was a little dry on the pudding choices but still very chocolaty and the pear tart all considered exceptional.

This is another of my favourite local pubs. On my last visit we had a snack lunch but we have had many other meals here and none has ever diisappointed. Why is it called The Tiger? No idea, but there is a toy tiger near the bar.

Another lovely evening out at the Tiger Inn last night. We took some visiting family members out for drinks and dinner and had a wonderful relaxed evening. Our guests are from London, they wanted to go here after us previously telling them about the place. They loved the location, the building and it’s friendly atmosphere. They are so jealous not to have somewhere like this local to themselves - we guess we will see more of them now!..This evening I had Tomato & Garlic Tagliatelle starter followed by the best Fish and Chips I’ve had in ages. To top off my meal this time I had a chocolate dome! ... Mmm. Can’t wait for our next visit - dinners on our visitors next time. Thank you to the team at the Tiger Inn

I came to the Tiger last night with my family (7 in total) for an evening out. Several members of my family, including myself have intolerances the staff couldn’t have been more helpful when advising us with what to choose. My sister is a vegetarian and was very happy with the vegetarian options. Desserts were lovely and drinks perfect! Definitely will be back again!

Well what a dreadful evening this was a special evening to celebrate two birthdays 6 adults and two children under 4 in the party. Table booked for 7pm whilst two of the party were 10 minutes late the service was appalling. Starters once ordered off the menu we were informed not available as the wrong menu then reordered 30 minutes later 2 starters missing drinks not delivered 2 hours later still no mains and informed another 10 minutes and actually we should have pre ordered as there was 6 off us really! We left at that point albeit there was no charge for the drinks and the starters that were delivered even though they were cold and greasy. The explanations was a new new chef and the Manager was not no duty? So disappointing will not go back again..

It doesn't take much to impress me, I have quite simple tastes. I liked the friendly service and the ambience of the place. And the beer is good. What isn't good is being presented with the lamest ploughman's lunch I've ever had and being charged £12 for it. For starters don't bring my food on a chopping board, put it on a plate. Chopping boards are for preparing food and wooden ones have hygiene issues, how do I know it's clean? A pinch is not a measure for salad. Four tiny wedges of cheddar do not make customers go wow. If I was a ploughman I would have been going back to work very pissed off. The food here is usually excellent to be fair but they definitely need to look at the ploughman's. How hard can it be?

The venue was clean and not too noisy. Food was delicious and came out on time. The spacing between tables was good. Service could be improved as all the staff seemed a little flat. The bill was not bought to the table, we had to get up and pay at the bar. Not the end of the world but definitely an area to improve upon to get an excellent rating.

I've had countless Sunday pub lunches over the years and I can say this place is right up there with the best. Called in at the start of a country walk and booked a table for 3. They were pretty booked up but allocated a table in the front bar. Came back at 3pm and sure enough the place was busy but our table awaited. No sooner had we sat down and the attentive staff were taking our drinks order and explaining the specials. Pan fried Pigeon with black pudding drizzled with honey and balsamic glaze, and the biggest breaded Camembert we had ever seen were the starters. Main was Pan fried fillet of Salmon on crushed new potato cake, roasted lamb fillets with crust on dauphinois potato and a beef roast all accompanied with a lovely selection of veg (cauliflower cheese, swede, mange tout and asparagus)

We came for dinner and it was a really great meal in a real, old-fashioned village pub, with wooden floors and tables. The home-made food was excellent and delicious, whether it was meat or fish (our party had both) and good value for money. The service was very good and the staff friendly and helpful. This was our first visit but I will certainly not be our last.

Lovely meal and friendly staff. We shared the cold meat platter which was very generous and a gorgeous camembert which was nice and gooey. Followed by fish and chips and a seafood platter which was also really good. The only reason we didn't have puds (which sounded delish!) was because we were stuffed! Staff apologised for the wait but we were quite happy in our surroundings and we didn't actually wait that long, especially as the food was freshly cooked. Brilliant country pub - modern but cosy. Highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant for a couples meal. The pub has very countrified decor, with hops in abundance. The outside seating is very pleasant. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere about it. We later visited a second time with our small children for an evening meal and were not disappointed!

I don’t usually review places we visit but the Tiger Inn impressed me so much I felt compelled to - My wife and I were looking for a lovely country pub to relax, have a drink and eat some lunch together. We wanted to find a perfect Kentish country pub so decided to take drive out and see what we could find. Boy we hit the jackpot! We chanced upon this pub finding a really warm welcome from the staff and logs burning on the fire. The pub provides a traditional, friendly and warm environment and staff are very welcoming. We started with a tasting of the local ales on offer - my wife browsed the days papers as I watched the flames dance in the log burner, bliss. We then ordered lunch (a great selection on the menu too - I’d recommend the salmon, potatoes and artichoke - the best I’ve had in a long while), scrummy ! The Tiger Inn strikes me as one of those “best kept secrets” because there were walkers there who had chosen to base their day out around the pub as their start (with a walk) and finish (with a drink and bite to eat) trip, and locals relaxing with a pint. We chatted to a number of them in the bar - clearly people keep going back. It’s so nice to find a lovely clean well kept Kentish pub in such perfect surroundings. We will definitely be going back - and next time we will be taking friends along for evening dinner. Can’t wait!

We were a party of 6 for Christmas dinner. We had generous and tasty cocktails to start. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Iced water arrived without us having to ask. The staff checked with us before serving each course. The food was plentiful and delicious. We all went traditional: prawn cocktails followed by turkey. Everything was perfectly cooked. Puddings were great too - Christmas puddings and cheese cakes. Highly recommend.

Popped into this sweet little cafe in Hythe, really friendly and helpful staff. Made to feel welcome and given a good choice of food and drink. Looked after and not rushed, Will definitely be calling in again.

After taking in some NYD sea air my other half and I decided to drive along from Folkestone to Hythe to see if we could stop by cosy pub for a quick drink. We parked up and wondered along to the Globe Inn. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the Landlady who wished us a Happy New Year and sat us next to the log fire. No food was available but we overheard the owners offering to cook Fish and Chips for a couple who had also popped into the pub. I've never written a review before but this old school proper High Street pub deserves a mention and a reminder to everyone why we need to keep our local pubs alive. An unexpected surprise and a place we will definitely drop by again. Well Done!

Very sadly this pub now seems to be closed. It was shut on Thursday evening when we came past. And there was a large SOLD sign on the building. :(. (Hopefully it will be reopened as a pub someone soon )

Always liked the atmosphere at the master brewer. Nice location with duck pond near by and free parking. Had a really good time for a friend's birthday recently but the only issue is they were running out of drinks... To the point I had a vodka lemonade with more vodka than lemonade because they were running out of mixer. I wasn't complaining but it was a curious situation to be in. Regardless of the lack of supply the bar staff were friendly and accommodating. In the words of Arnie in the terminator... I'll be back
