Balance Bar in Shepway

Something different & refreshing for New Romney town. A nice looking bar, plenty of drink options, good music & comfortable seating. When I visited it was mid week and basically empty, but still a good atmosphere. A nice young lady was serving our drinks, hello on arrival, goodbye on leaving. Reasonably priced, would visit again.

We arrived late afternoon when the place was still being cleaned from the day before. Ales and service was good but it seemed more of a restaurant/night club with a bar. Food menu looked interesting and at reasonable prices.

Food is amazing chips crispy food tastes stunning.

Great location great staff. What's not to like?

Amazing Family Dinner here tonight. Highly recommend the balance platter. Meat was so flavourful and tender. Everything was cooked to perfection. Served so quickly. Service was great too. Amazing!! Thank you.

All our beer under £5 under new management now we do kebabs 4.30 to close every night eat in or delivery we have reduce all the price every one is welcome

Wow! We attended Balance whilst on holiday to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and we were blown away. The atmosphere makes you feel like your in a really stylish expensive restaurant the large gold chair is at the entrance was a big hit with my children! We was greeted by B. She has amazing customer service skills and is great at making you feel welcome and relaxed. We sat in a booth with a screen. We ordered 3 burgers, a 2 person share platter a kids meal and some sides. The wait was a little long on the food but we didn't mind because when the food arrive WOW! It was melt in the mouth delicious every bite was a flavour explosion to the palette. All the meat was cooked perfectly none of it was chewy or tough. Honestly beats any restaurants we have been to in London (we're we are from). Just want to say a Big shout out to B she really is fantastic at her job and her customer service skills are top quality.

Must be new owners as gone downhill, used to frequent place but something has changed and is not as good as it was when it first opened, Never Again, prices have got extortionately ridiculous you would think you are in Chelsea, food has become average shame the prices haven’t.

Been using this bar quite regularly since it opened.Been a bit of a roller coaster ride.Still can't work out what it is, sports bar, night club, restaurant????? Now it appears to be the most expensive bar in New Romney!!!!! No dogs allowed!!

Just had a takeaway delivered and ..... OH MY GOD it was amazing!!!!! Would highly recommend. 30 early and delish!!!!! Thanks guys

Had such a good night with friends here on Friday. Really welcoming and helpful staff. Great atmosphere and music . New to the area so great little find . We will definitely be back .

How much? 😶 Four pounds ninety pence for a pint of Amstel 😶 Crikey! Nice modern bar but a bit too dear for us. Would I visit again? Unlikely but then I don't think we were their target clientele...

Great place for a night out. Had a private event here which was great and we were well looked after. Aside note: The bouncer was somewhat unhelpful to guests that were invited but got turned away. Not great on a private event and you know the people you are inviting...

Great lunch, the bacon was very lean in the omelette and a large portion. Beautifully presented cappuccino. Highly recommend Balance.

Went for breakfast . My daughter had a good one there the week before so decided to take me there . Long wait for food and when it arrived presentation was good but food was cold

Really great to see such a lively bar doing so well in New Romney and for a good cause. Staff were great, food was good and atmosphere was just right. Can't wait to go again and get involved with the menu some more. And....dog friendly that goes a long way with us . Thanks Balance Bar

I have a caravan local to this bar so use it quite regularly at weekends , staff, service drinks choices and prices all really good but what I’ve noticed is they have the same djs every weekend playing the same music every weekend. It’d be nice if they would mix it up a little bit.

Absolutely awesome! Never had a bad experience. The staff are all extremely professional and friendly, to the point my 80+year old mother in law feels happy and comfortable enough to visit on her own. The food is first class and without a doubt the best I have ever had.

Great looking bar, good door staff, friendly but firm but so they should be ! Good vibes in side great djs good management and staff ! Always have great time . Though the cocktails could be better for the price and food could be better ! Needs more toilet space ! Other than that a good 8 out of 10 hot spot in town .

Warm Welcome given by the bar staff on arrival. Choice of beers, wines and cocktails good. Decor really good although not to keen on the sports bar TV’s everywhere. Would we visit again, yes certainly.

We were so looking forward to this cocktail bar opening, we thought it would be quite exclusive and up market with profits going to a charity which is wonderful. Unfortunately it is a sports bar really, and is just full of men drinking, it’s a shame we thought it would be more like The Waterfront in Hythe, as a woman I would be very unlikely to frequent it as it just feels quite ‘lad ish’ On the plus point the wine was nice as were the staff

Popped in yesterday for a drink with friends. Very disorganised, not welcoming & when we asked for a cocktail menu we were told 'they are all muddled up at the minute'. Other people were sending there drinks back. Won't bother again.

I do not normally go to sports bars but one morning in New Romney my mum in law suggested we have breakfast there. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all the staff were warm and welcoming, accommodated my son's large special need pushchair with no problem and were quick to serve us. Secondly the breakfast was brilliant, we had the full English and it was cooked perfectly. The price was more than reasonable and the service was great. I felt both the atmosphere and staff made the place warm and welcoming and next time I am in the area I think I will have to go back.

Absolutely love it, cocktails are superb highly recommend Long Island Ice Tea its perfection in a glass. Really modern inside with booths you can sit and relax in. The food is fantastic and is more like art on a plate, very tasty I would recommend the scallops they are to die for. Staff are very friendly welcoming and attentive, happy to please smart uniforms. Also been of a night time, it's not crowded, door staff are friendly. If you go out for a smoke you get given a blanket! Bearing in mind all profits go to charity the owner deserve a medal. Thank you for bringing this bar to New Romney its ideal for older people too. Would highly recommend day or night its well worth the trip out...love it.😊

Iam truly upset !!!! We have been to The Balance Bar in New Romney Kent before, but only for drinks and we had a really good time , we were made to feel welcome by the staff and thought what what a lovely place. So we decided to go there for Mother’s Day evening meal, It was a set meal of 2 or 3 courses. Which all sounded great, and we ordered our meals when they came the meat was cold the roast potatoes were Luke warm the Yorkshire was cold. Vegetables came out hot, and I complained about the coldness of the rest. She offered me a replacement, to which I declined and just asked for some hot gravy. We ordered drinks and 20 mins went by and they had not arrived, so I asked again and the lady got them. When we got our deserts, the plate was warm but the fudge cake was cold and the ice cream had started to melt. I was so upset with the whole thing that I couldn’t wait to leave. I won’t be revisiting there again for drinks or food, and I am now aware that we are not the only people to complain.

First of all our booking wasn't right , after a few weeks of booking , then had lovley started chicken selects . Had gammon and rest of family beef all the roast was cold had to be reheated then not enough veg for 5 . Cauliflower cheese was stone cold and like rock ! The pudding was ok but my crumble was soggy must of been in microwave very disappointed as have had drunk in here and always fine for that .complained and not offered even another pudding or money back . Was then rushed off our table as someone else apparently waiting had to leave drinks and go . They didn't even care

Went here for a meal for mother's day and I wouldn't go back the starters were lovely I cannit fault that however the roast was really cold they did take it away and reheat it but the veg was also hard and cold as well the meat was tender however my mum had the apple crumble desert and it was awful I told the lady that she didn't like it she just brushed it off like oh okay did not offer to change it or even remove off bill then they rushed us although they took a while getting our food they was like we need your seat for the next people I really like what the balence bar stands for but very dissatisfied with food the pudding was defo a microwave meal

We had the Balance breakfast and it was great. Staff are super friendly. Looking forward to attending a few of the DJ events.

Such a fab bar! New Romney was crying out for something like this! Went for a roast on Sunday and it was delicious, will definitely be returning and definitely recommend.

First time visitors, welcoming as you entered, seated quickly and served but not rushed. A nice breakfast but a poor cup of Tea, I would recommend to anyone.

Great little place on the High Street in New Romney. It used to be a bank. It Sells plenty of drinks, just started doing food. I have not tried one, but they have loads of cocktails. The staff are very friendly. All profits go to a charity. Open in the day too for coffee and cakes, etc.

Comfortable and excellent service.

Awesome little place. Reasonable prices for drinks. Comfy booth seating with a Tv for every one. And the nice feeling that all the profits go to a brain charity.

Went in on a Sunday evening with my wife and two boxer dogs and had great time. Lovely staff and beautiful place.

We went to the ‘soft opening’ of this new venue at the weekend. The bar gives all the profits to charity which is unique in itself. The bar is superb inside with amazing attention to detail and all the booths have their own TV screen....
