Very sadly this pub now seems to be closed. It was shut on Thursday evening when we came past. And there was a large SOLD sign on the building. :(. (Hopefully it will be reopened as a pub someone soon )

Small, intimate friendly pub. Superb Sunday roast. Shame it doesn't open until late afternoons. Really missed the garden last summer. Good quiz.

Not many of these left now. Unpretentious, cosy and well-run traditional boozer. In the evenings, hot food is laid out for free. The food is very good here, fresh, homemade and much better than most gastro pubs in Folkestone. Two good local ales on the pumps. The garden has sea views.

A welcoming low key pub that served one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve enjoyed in ages. Perfectly cooked meats, more trimmings than expected, all deliciously seasoned and plenty of everything. I’d like more of a selection of beers and wines but there is a decent choice on the whole.

Great pub, great staff, great food and good drinks.

Had lunch today, chicken wings, scampi and whitebait, generous portions, very reasonably priced and delicious and well cooked, great service and friendly too. Great outside seating area with sea views. Will definitely be going back regularly. Very good value for money, worth trying.

Lived in Folkestone all my life and embarrassed to say first time I've been. But great traditional old school pub.

Decking was lovely to sit on with a view to the sea. Service great and good range of beers. We had a pleasant and relaxing visit there.

Booked for a roast after hearing how lovely they were. Got to say was the best roast dinner I’ve ever eaten out . Fantastic choice of meats , food was piping hot , which was great as eating outside. Great value for money and lovely friendly staff . Will definitely be going back for more.

Lovely little locals pub, where everyone, staff and customers alike were very friendly and accepting of new faces. The warm welcome from staff and management - particularly Becky, Maddi and Paula - was greatly appreciated. Food was excellent, with large portions, all served with a pleasant smile. I would recommend the pub for drinks and/or food to anyone and will definitely revisit next time I'm in the area. Live performances in the garden (Paul May and Dune Acoustic) was a fantastic bonus for the end of the summer season.

Excellent as always great food, friendly staff and locals. Prices reasonable too. A nice pub that does all it can in these uncertain times and clean and social distances well maintained

This little tucked away pub is just a few steps away from the harbour. The food is homemade and very tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff and management are very welcoming and friendly. I love the garden and the weekend live music. Thank you Becky and team ( my new local )

Reasonable checks and precautions re Covid but social distancing out of the window - it is a small place. Good beer/food/service. Was made to feel very welcome.

This is a fantastically improved pub since the new management came in. 7 of us had dinner and drinks there earlier this month with the food being so good that the kids ordered extra (and probably ate them out of mussels!). Very generous food portions, great quality, fantastic value and a really good selection of drinks. Well worth a visit!

Revisited a pub today as the roast dinner I had last time was AMAZING. Once again, this lovely little pub did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection, the meal come out piping hot and brought to us by very friendly and polite staff. The landlady herself popped over to check all was ok with the meal and with a mouthful of broccoli and Cauliflower cheese all I could do was grin and nod like a crazed fool! Hands down the best roast I've had.

Cosy Friendly boozer. I have been trying various pubs/Restaurant's for a good Sunday Roast. This is the best by far so far. Great price for the Roast and proper Roast Potatoes.

I like this little traditional pub and have eaten here before. Had family down from London and like to use the local places so booked here. We arrived at 1.20 for our 1.30 booking. The reception in the bar was to say the least a bit cool. We found our own table, by deduction of places laid out and sat down. Husband went to order drinks and the woman behind the bar struggled to serve? No draught beer ...in a pub! What is that and then to give a 74yrs old man a bottle of Newcastle Brown with no glass expecting him to drink from the bottle..what is that! Husband NEVER complains but actually said she's not up to it. Then the same lady took our order, one dinner was not feeling the best and wanted just a starter..but no starters so he decided not to eat we then ordered 2 beef and 1 pork which she wrote down but then confirmed 2 porks and 1 beef! But the food itself was plentiful, well cooked, except for the soggy pork scratching, and tasty. We did order a bottle of rose but non available from the fridge. Luckily it's cold in the storage area, glad it wasn't summer! Then to be advised we had to vacate the table before 3pm so no puddings..if there are any! So although very reasonably priced not sure we will risk eating here for Sunday lunch again would prefer to pay more for something a bit more professional. Shame as we do like to support local places.

Really good pub with good selection of real ale

This place is a traditional, warm and friendly pub which serves a great ploughmans lunch, Sunday dinner and has great party nights. We decided to have an afternoon celebration here for friends and family for a diamond wedding anniversary and the owner is always willing to go the extra mile and made it special. Great little pub.

What a great pub to watch the Rugby especially after the result today. Free breakfast and tea and coffee for those not wanting an early beer. A traditional pub is the heart of the community and this is as close as you get now to a traditional pub with a friendly lot of locals and visitors Thank you for a lovely morning ( the result helped!!)

We moved in to the area back in March and have been coming to the Lifeboat ever since. Fab local, great beers, a lovely roast and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Love it.

On suggestion from a friend popped in for a Sunday roast with the family. Great food, friendly staff and made a fuss of my little girl. Really recommend

Fresh, cheap and plenty of it. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Book early as it’s busy Wine is a good price for a full bottle and a good quality for a house wine.

Popped in here for a beer recently and was served a beer so cloudy it was undrinkable and the barmaid didn't have a clue that it was off. This pub was once renowned for the quality and choice of beer but sadly it seems to have gone badly downhill.

We don't visit pubs very often but when we do this is one of our first choices. It's a proper old pub, nice people and atmosphere. Not many of these places left but an absolute gem in Folkestone.

Such a tasty Ploughmans and great price! Sunday lunch is also fab!

The Sunday roast in this pub is very good. Best to book early as it does get busy and the veg is better at the start of lunch.

We had lunch sitting outside in the sun, it really is a sun trap. I had brie and bacon panini, husband had ploughmans. The portions are enormous and the food was very nicely prepared and presented. The only negative is the very steep stairs to go back to the bar or as we did go outside and walk down the hill. But a very enjoyable lunch.

I could not have a trip to Folkestone without popping in this great little boozer.

Fantastic little pub slightly off the beaten track, really great engaging staff and a standard but decent selection of alcohol.

Have been visiting this little pub for Sunday Roast many times and it never fails to deliver. The food is all cooked from scratch and fresh ingredients used. The portion sizes are good with a choice of meats and at £8.95 it is worth every penny. Friendly new owners and staff and well worth a visit.

Came here for roast dinner after reading some review. Roast amazing, one vege whom opted for additional vegetables instead of waiting for the pie (takes 40 mins too cook)- only because we were all starving. All food was amazing and really cheap at 8.95! We will deffinately be back!

A friendly pub just a short walk away from the harbour. The Sunday roast was lovely. A selection of real Ales on hand pump. Well worth a visit.

I’ve been coming to this pub for years. Since the new owners have taken over its the best pub in the area. The Sunday lunch is the best I have had ever!!! It’s a lovely little , clean, friendly pub . It’s a hidden gem. Please give this place a try .

I went with a party of 12 including children and I was so impressed! The roast was the best roast I've ever had in a pub! ( I'm a vegetarian and they had no problem catering for me) It was full of flavour, huge and really well priced. The staff are lovely and made us all feel really welcome. I would definitely recommend eating there. I know its definitely going to be my regular Sunday dinner place from now on. I give it 10 out of 10!

Not sure why we have not visited this little pub on our way back from town. It's a great little bar with friendly staff and regulars. And it has a really good juke box. Not tried the food but the wine and beer were good.

Went to this lovely traditional pub on a Sunday to celebrate two birthdays. We was a party of six adults, the Staff were very polite & welcoming, lovely ambiance & good ales on tap. We all had a roast dinner & we all agreed that this was the best roast we have had locally. Everything about the dish was cooked to perfection, & amazing unique taste the vegetables had.

Great night open mic 2nd wed of the month, good music, soloist, trios,affro style, brilliant, night come along.

Great local pub with cracking Sunday roast and snacks throughout the week. Live entertainment as the locals request from bands to comedy.. This pub has really turned round and is on the way up. Real Ales on pump too.

A new must visit pub in Folkestone Harbour.. This was always a decent pub which has new owners.. They are breathing a new lease of life into it and will only be a better venue for live music and comedy.. Support them as much as possible.. 😀

Could do with the landlady being there more often

I visited this pub after reading the earlier reviews, but on this occasion I wish I hadn't. Visited the pub in the afternoon, but found the pub very old fashioned and would walk pass it on future occasions,

i had read some very good reviews on line. very disappointing when i visited definately would not want to eat there very dingy

Si no te importa subir las escaleras, este es un gran lugar para tomar el sol y beber una pinta. Ayer fue bastante soleado y con mi paseando, me encontré con la lancha. El patio es básico, pero con mesas y un montón de cerveza abajo, me gustó mucho.

Uno de mis pubs locales, tenía el domingo asados unas cuantas veces siempre encantador, especialmente la casa budines caseros. Tan contentos, ahora tienen un menú a mediados de la semana, teníamos el plato de pescado compartir era precioso y tan buena relación calidad-precio, un ambiente fantástico de nuevo, es agradable ir a un niño pub amable

WOW!! I live locally and was meeting up with some friends so wanted some great food and atmosphere for great company, I was NOT disappointed, amazing quality homemade food and lovely friendly staff, the desserts are to die for too!! I woke up still full!!

Este es un pequeño y acogedor pub escondido detrás del puerto de Folkestone. Normalmente tiene dos o tres cervezas de barril, así como el típico cervezas, vinos y licores. La comida es de muy buena calidad y hay una pequeña terraza en la parte trasera, que es precioso en un día soleado. Los perros son bienvenidos.

This is a a nice friendly little pub, it was the perfect place to see in the new year, the staff and locals alike were friendly and made us feel very welcome, definitely go back soon to sample their lunches and real ales.

Los cuatro nos decidimos darnos un pub crawl mini de los tres anteriores, sólo he visitado hace muchos años con estos chicos en la industria de la construcción. Bien, gratamente sorprendido por todo, tanto con ale y menús en pantalla. Todas tienen áreas de restaurante, una ventaja, nos gusta un ambiente tranquilo al comer.

A traditional English pub. A wide selection of local ales available. Can highly recommend the food, all freshly prepared and cooked very generous portions. We had the Sunday roast, very nice indeed. Well worth a visit.
