This is my first visit to this establishment. It is well maintained but has minimal footfall and zero atmosphere. There were no other customers during the Tuesday evening I visited (for a short business meeting), so parking wasn't a problem. The last orders were called at 8.40pm! I understand it doesn't open on Mondays. It may be that Master Brewer management has some statistics that show this pub is worth retaining. The small off-licence opposite seemed to be doing a reasonable trade! This should be the social hub for the surrounding community, but I fear it could end up being demolished and replaced with housing, which would be a great shame.😭

Oh dear what a dissapointment. Sunday lunch. The vegetables ( carrots, peas, green beans, cauliflower) were overcooked, soggy & full of water. Roast potatoes were hard and very dry. The meat & Yorkshire pud was nice.

Had a delivery of roast Pork and one of roast Beef, both were accompanied by plenty of vegetables and came with gravy and yorkshire puddings as well as cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets as extras. Very impressive meals, speedy delivery and what a lovely meal. Thank you 😊.

Very loud and busy when we visited. Tables were a bit cramped. Had some kind of event going on in the main bar which took up most of the space. Didn't stay as too busy for me.

Food was awful, undercooked potatoes, overcooked beef one meal was missed off. All meals arrived virtually cold and had to be sent back twice to be reheated, gravy was also cold. It was meant to be a father's day celebration we were glad to get out.

After good reviews on food etc, what a complete disappointment !! Order was attempted to be taken after 10mins, explained we’ve had no menu given.. after that waited & waited for Dinner (Father’s Day Roast) after 1 hr from order, it arrived (3x meals) cold & veggies crunchy (under cooked) we were not the only ones, table beside us got up & left after waiting 1hr too.. staff were running around apologising for delays, they had no organisation at all & it wasn’t even busy !! After eating half a plate, we got up to leave, to the bar for bill (not to mention young children running behind the bar) the bill came to £90- + for 3x set meals & 1 round of drinks… when contested, the barmaid had added on 3x extra rounds of drinks plus deserts.. What !! Then finally brought down to £41- ?? Total chaos from start to finish, please owners sort this out !! Was totally embarrassing for all to see, sad though as I’ve used that pub since it opened in Dec 85.. won’t return…

Booked a table for 2pm for a roast, we had to order our drinks at the bar as no one came over to us. Ended up leaving after nearly an hour and a half with no food, even with chasing multiple times. They came back to us after 80 minutes asking again what our order was, as there was a “mix up” in the kitchen. Poor service, would put 0 stars if I had the option. The table next to us sent their food back as it was cold also.

I am only posting this as I would not want anyone else to have to eat and drink in a place that has a dog roaming free behind the bar. I’m not a dog person, and I appreciate that other people don’t care about this, but I think it’s unacceptable that people working there would put their preferences before a customer. It was jumping up on the glasses and going round the back where the kitchen is. I really hope it wasn’t allowed in there. Such a shame as the food was ok, but that really put me off and dogs should not be allowed anywhere near places where you are going to eat and drink from. I thought this would be a given. 0 stars for hygiene.

Friendly staff and ok customer service. The available menu was really limited at the time of the visit. The food was just ok.

I was excited to try the West Indian food here. Unfortunately it missed the mark by a long chalk. Tasteless and gristly poor quality meat, it was barely edible. When I complained the owner and the chef were so aggressive and so rude. I would definitely not recommend this place. If I could give no stars I would. Awful experience, no wonder the place was almost empty. I certainly won't be returning.

Food here is absolutely shocking. I was ill for 48 hours after my visit. Their hygiene certificate needs to be looked in to! Owners were so rude too. I would avoid this place at all costs

Had a take away roast for 2 l cannot believe what was sent out absolutely disgusting even the dogs wouldn’t eat it all in bin no stars NEVER AGAIN emailed but no response…… NO STARS

First time having a Sunday roast. Heard good things about it so thought we would come along. I must say it was delicious I had the lamb and pork belly very yummy and thank you all very welcoming.

Friendly people but very limited menu and carribbean food. Limited beers available too and time of visit.

We had a takeaway roast dinner. Always lovely and generous portions. Had the lamb and pork. Extra roast potatoes were included. Hubby and I are completely full up. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Amazing place good food good beer

Food was great. Lovely roast lamb and beef. Ordered extra roasties and cauliflower cheese. However, my eyes were obviously bigger than my belly as the meal was large enough without the extras. Dogs were very happy after! Will definitely be ordering again.

What a lovely friendly local pub, who make you very welcome. Unfortunately, no food after 3 on sunday, but we could still enjoy a drink as they do motorhome stop overs. Nicely situated for ports.

We stayed with our motohome. On way back from France. Manager friendly and so is the staff. Will be going back. Would recommend it.

Gemütliche Kneipe, leckeres Bier und sehr freundliche Besitzer.

We stayed overnight in the car park in our motor home, it is free when you have a drink or a meal in the pub. It is only 14 minutes to the the tunnel. We stayed on a Monday night, the pub didn’t open on a Monday but the owners kindly allowed us to stay anyway nice people👍

This is an ok place for a beer and something to eat not the most liveliest but is friendly

Gezellige pub met hartelijke ontvangst door pubeigenaar. Netjes geholpen bij het plek krijgen van de camper op de parkeerplaats van de pub. Nu lekker biertje aan het drinken met mijn vriendin. Gezellig zo.

The people behind the bar who were standing in for the landlord who was on holiday were helpful. But generally this pub is very very tiered and should be very busy as in the middle of a large housing estate. But its not . Shame as it could be nice

Excellent roast lunch We had lamb, with a range of vegetables, from the choice of beef, lamb or turkey. Good size portions served very hot. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I have eaten here a few times and the food is always good.

It's a lovely place in Broadmead Village which is well kept and beautiful. The staff there are lovely and it was such an enjoyable experience to be there.

Had a lovely Sunday roast here...and it was just as good as you would have at home.. beautiful slices of beef...and plenty of gravy....great desserts as well.

Rough pub in a nice area. Some of the customers let it down. The beer garden is too small, shame they cant expand into the green area next to it.

Quiet bar with pool table and darts. Was a sunny day and the small garden was been used. I would say 4-5 tables. Staff were friendly average £5 a pint. Unfortunately I never seen any food menu, would be nice if they did do food. As its local to me and would be ideal for my family to have evening tea etc there. Barring that I liked it.

Nice beer. Only the second time of paying more than a fiver a pint. (perhaps I'm tight). Thought it was a bit expensive.

Great to be back in the pub for Sunday lunch. We both had roast lamb with all the trimmings. The lamb was tender and there was lots of it, and plenty of gravy. I still managed to tuck away a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. No draught real ale at the moment, but understandable given the number customers in pubs. Great selection of bottled beers. Very good value, 2 roasts, 3 pints and a pudding for just under £30.

In this pub there is always a sincere atmosphere and interesting people gather, thanks to the talents of the owners of this institution, Pavel and Irina. Here you can enjoy lunches in the style of traditional English cuisine on Thursdays from 16.00 and Sundays from 12.00

Rude and intimidating customers and landlord

Landlord could have been a bit more cheerful, landlady could have made a bit more effort with her attire as it was a funeral wake, but buffet was good

Food - meat, undercooked, still pink in the middle... Potatoes were cooked to the point you could use them on a coconut shy. Drinks weren't very nice either. Won't be going back.

Did not know what to expect but on arrival our party of 7 was warmly welcomed and the meal was great plenty of food typically a village style pub which could do with a little make over but great

We stayed overnight in the pub car park in our motorhome (which they allow if you call ahead) we were on route to France via Eurotunnel. We ate in the pub, food was good and very cheap! 3 adults and 2 kids ate for £26. Staff were friendly. Would visit again if travelling that way in the future.

We made our way to this pub by walking through what looked like a really posh and expensive estate so I was really surprised by what I experienced when we went in. It was a bit run down and scruffy and all of the locals seemed to look at us when we entered so I never really felt at ease during our stay. The menu was also very limited and the other issue was that we were asked to move as we were sat in someone’s seat who was taking part in the quiz (I’m sure it is the first time I’ve ever been asked to move after finding a seat in a pub?) The food was cheap and it was ok however not somewhere I would return to if back in the area at any time.

I was here for a Wake. Standard buffet and the ale just ordinary at best but the pub was very friendly and we felt most welcome. If i lived local I would call in again.

Took my parents out on Sunday for a lovely roast dinner at the Master Brewer. We had a choice of lamb, turkey or beef; having chosen the lamb, it was beautifully cooked with a very generous portion; the vegetables and roast potatoes were all excellent too Great choice of desserts - would recommend the spotted dick!! Excellent service and really good value!

Leuke en gezellige plek, we hebben een overnachting hier gehad voor de terugreis naar Nederland. Twintig minuten rijden naar Dover. Eten was goed en de pub was heel gezellig.

We were on our second night in our hired motorhome and decided to give this pub a go. It was great; the food good as well with home cooking. They even let us stay the night in their carpark and so a win/win for us.

Nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal! Wir waren auf unserer England Reise hier als erste Station nach dem durchqueren des Tunnels. Man versorgte uns mit guten Getränken und Informationen für unsere Reise!
