Lovely hotel, staff friendly and welcoming gteat food lovely atmosphere

Another great lunch here , excellent food and service , the staff are very attentive and accommodating.

Didn't want to eat there but unfortunately. After waiting 15 minutes and trying to get the attention of the staff 4 times, I left.

We are three guys "retired" and have formed the £20 club - where we each buy a round of drinks within that price range - this is one bar that is on our go to venues with great service and atmosphere

On bright days, this is a lovely little sun trap. Comfy seating inside & out. Nice relaxing atmosphere.

I liked! Good service! Cold beer! Nice food! I'm staying at the hotel next door, but the beer was out of ice. We changed restaurants. I don't like draft beer without ice. Congratulations to whoever decorated this place! I loved the wallpapers.

Being part of a hotel this venue meets high standards of cleanliness, accessibility etc. It has a good restaurant and bar food often with "deals". It is convenienlty situated on the Leas so is handy for walking around Folkestone.

Great venue for our Sunday morning coffee after relaxing tai chi. Welcomed by the lovely Phillippa and served by Maj in the lounge over looking the sea 🌞

The food (club sandwich and salmon and soft cheese sandwich) and drinks were spot on, the service was a little slow. But will definitely be back.

Scotch egg starter was delightful, main course of rump steak cooked to my liking and for dessert I had apple crumble this was OK but not as good as the first 2 courses. Atmosphere was great for dining with friends. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. Overall a nice meal.

What a treat. Tea in the outside pod, nice and warm despite the rain. Wonderful service by sanjit. Recommended and did not break the bank.

Popped in for a drink and to look around the hotel with a view to staying later in the year. Lovely staff and a very nice bar and setting.

Part of having a pleasant time in a hotel bar are the nibbles which are offered when one has cocktails. This hotel does not offer such. When asked the waiter said he had checked other bars in Folkestone and none offered nibbles with cocktails (or equivalent). And thereby tells you the difference between struggling to survive as a bar and hotel as this place seems to be, or owning a successful bar that people want to visit any time. It's not just the nibbles, it's the prevailing attitude.

I thought as a restaurant owner and chef of some respect over the years,I enjoy my chicken pie. Some had lamb that was not tender enough and was left. Other food was lacking in reel flavour expected for the amount of money paid? The survice was good and repor and friendly attitude by staff was good. It would have been nice to be given more green and properly cooked veg with the main item's 😋 thank you for your good intentions and I look forward to coming again..thank you PJ.

Cocktails are good but a little bit expensive - as expected for cocktails. The staff are good and friendly and we have been a few times now. Food is from the attached Marco Pierre White so is good but there can be a bit of a wait time involved if there are unexpected parties.

Very good atmosphere and service, they can do great Cream Teas.

Very comfortable, it has been refurbished throughout the ground floor, the bedrooms all need updating (which they are doing) as they are very old fashioned.

Nice atmosphere for a quiet drink or cocktail, looking over the channel to France, early ish midnight bar close was a shame.

We used this for lunch whilst having a stay. The food was very enjoyable and good value for money and good range of drinks.

Great afternoon tea. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good selection of sandwiches. Lovely selection of cakes. Scones were so big, we couldn't eat them all. Really tasty. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and would definitely go again.

Presently surprisingly. The soup was only.okay but the service was very good.

Bedrooms need redecorating and bath room. Lounge and bar area is great. And we had good service, food was good to.

Visited the glorious Folkestone seafront, and stopped at this good looking bar/restaurant/hotel for lunch on a busy Saturday. Didn’t have a booking and was told restaurant is fully booked. Fair enough. However, Bar area was serving snacks and fish & chips. Ordered the later at 1:30pm. After chasing five waiter/manager, food was served one hour later. The service is poor and the staff show no interest in customer service and never ever smile... very disappointing.

Had a great gourmet vegeburger with trimmings for a reasonable price. Bar was sort of shabby chic, staff were attentive. It always has people there so it is kind of a location people know and enjoy.

Bardzo dobre jedzenie, śniadanie Szwecki stół, kolacja synhowana Michel Pierre.. Pięknie podane i bardzo smaczne. Pokój czysty, dość duży jak na 4 osoby. Łaźnie ka z wanną, dość obszerna. Piękny widok z okna na morze.

Nice decor,polite staff, great view, bar service a bit slow, toilets often a mess, needs a bit more attention to detail by the staff, good otherwise.

Visited Ocean Bleu on an overnight stay today and we were waited on by Alecia who was fantastic. A credit to the hotel! She was engaging and enthusiastic. Can’t fault the place. Well worth a visit if you’re passing through.

No problem with cocktails but problem with service. I asked for gin and tonic and i wanted to see the menu. I have learnt to check prices before ordering. Its my habit and very useful one. Some asian woman told me all gin is on the display. I asked for menu again, then she gave me a look and started to tell in bad manner to other member of staff look she needs a menu for gin and tonic. Its not only my perception as my partner has noticed her look as well. Like i came to her home uninvited. I am a very easy to please customer but its really got on my nerves. I am wasting my time in this review only for sake of the management to be aware about how their customers are treated for their money

Visited Saturday evening for a drink and some snacks. Ordered sandwiches at 8:30 as food finished at 9, had to continuously chase and finally got two sandwiches at 10 o’clock in the evening which looked like they had just been chucked together. Order drinks and after 45 min wait gave up. Manager told us food has been refunded but this never happened and I have still been charged. Very poor customer service and I won’t be back.

Very poor afternoon tea. Very much a tired Clifton hotel item and certainly not the Marco Pierre White one that I paid for and expected. Old crumbly dry scones, only strawberry jam and a miniscule ramekin of cream, sandwiches straight from the fridge and pretty poor cakes, nothing was special. It turned out to be an embarrassment for me as it appeared that I had ordered and paid for a cheap afternoon tea. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

We were staying at the Hotel and were just having a drink in the bar. The tables were spaced out to allow social distancing which I suspect meant that the look and atmosphere were not what they intended. Of course this also meant that everyone had to wait to be seated, and have table service. This in my opinion (as a customer service trainer) is where the service fell down a little. I appreciate that the staff are now busier serving to table and they were also having to service the requirements of the restaurant. But when someone is waiting to be seated, they should be acknowledged and told something like "sorry to keep you, someone will be with you shortly" Instead they tended to focus on whatever task they were engaged in and were clearly avoiding making eye contact. This was repeated when customers were sat at tables waiting to be served. At one point there seemed to be 3 bar staff working on one restaurant order. Having said all that, once you got their attention the were polite and friendly. The bar was very well stocked and as well as all the usual drinks they were able to provide a wide variety of cocktails. As this bar is pitching itself at the higher end, it does need to improve its customer service a little.

The seniors tea we had was lovely and good value for money. It was clean and our table looked over The Leas. Great.

Best and friendliest hotel in Folkestone.

Great atmosphere but the food not the best , been seated and the waiter's ask me to wear a face mask , I did let her know no one is wearing one and I'm here to have dinner... anyway the pizza look like they got it from sainsbury and fish was undercooked let not meantion the calamari came out cold. Not worth the money.

Great bar great prices and staff look after you. Bar menu 😋.

Small lounge bar but excellent staff and service.. very friendly and attentive and was made to very welcome throughout my stay.. This venue has completely changed over the past 4 years to be one of the go top bars in the south east Great cocktails, fantastic decor and friendly staff If you feel hungry they have the Marco Pierre white restaurant in the building too

Well decorated bar with classy decor. Ordered the ocean blue cocktail and a mojito Best i’ve ever had! Some friends ordered other cocktails and they all look so yum too! Staff are polite, accommodating and knowledgable of the things they do. Don’t hesitate to try this bar you wont get disappointed.

Choices include burger, pizza and pasta but after being turned away from the Steakhouse which closed its kitchen early, I had the rump steak to compensate and paid £18.50 with a handful of sweet potato chips, salad leaves and sautéed button mushrooms. The steak was nicely cooked medium rare but obviously not the tenderest of meat and the chips nice and crispy if only it didn’t leave the slight taste of reused cooking oil. For bar food, this is pretty good but for the price I should hope so.

Lovely place to sit and enjoy the Ambiance

My wife & I had a few enjoyable drinks and afternoon tea at the Ocean Bleu in Folkestone today. We used to go to the Carlton Hotel for drinks for many years but haven't been there for quite sometime. We were pleasantly surprised with the new relaxed atmosphere in the place. The sandwiches and hot scones were excellent and the staff consisting of Zaida & Zofia were both very pleasant and efficient. We will be back!

Lovely ambience, friendly and attentive staff and fabulous food. What more could you ask for?

Good service, lots of choice with the drinks, slightly wild prices but I guess that is standard for a hotel. Not a huge amount of choice on the bar menu but when we ate there, the food was cooked properly and presented well. The decor is beautiful and the staff are friendly.

The all day breakfast was generous and good value. The tuna sandwich could have been more generously filled. The triple cooked chips were very greasy.

We stopped here for a lunch. The service was efficient and the food was extremely well presented and served piping hot. The bar has wonderful views and makes the setting ideal. The food was extremely tasty and was enjoyed.

Upon arrival we were greeted at reception and shown through to the restaurant.We were then shown to our prepared table and offered tea or coffee .Our cream tea then arrived within a few minutes which consisted of a mixture of small sandwiches, 2 fruit and 2 Devon scones with cream and strawberry jam and a selection of cakes.We were also asked if more tea was required.Overall efficient service with a smile and a tasty cream tea which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent food we will return nice bits of unusual things on the menu. N3xt time we will visit the Marco Pierre White restaurant

Very good service here in a pleasantly updated building. We did find the lighting in the bar a little too bright. However, the service made up for it. Zakinah, the cocktail lady behind the bar was outstanding. Very nice service. Thank you.

Have visited this bar twice now and both times have been very pleased. Service is good and staff friendly. Food served her was of good quality and the afternoon teas look very good.

A lovely space to eat, but my Belguim beer was cloudy. People were enjoying what looked like a very nice afternoon tea. Our club sandwiches were tasty but huge and served with chips.

Beautifully renovated bar lounge, the service and food were excellent.. The staff are terrific, so friendly and helpful. Pay them a visit, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Tasty food, amazing service and atmosphere. Manos, the bar manager, showed us excellent bar skills and he made some special cocktails for us. Really lovely guy. Definitely coming back😊

How can a chef allow the hot food bins to run out, fruit bowls to be empty, and to run out of bread on a SUnday morning?

Good service and a great location, shame about the food. Not familiar with 1920s prawn cocktail but if it’s stale bread, tiny frozen prawns, and very little sauce, they nailed it. The fillet steak was a poor cut and over cooked, not good enough for the price. Soon to become a Marco Pierre White, let’s hope the food improves when it does.
