The Terrace Restaurant in Windsor and Maidenhead

Always a pleasure to be at Oakley Court. Faultless customer service, stunning setting and all round luxury treat. Would recommend a Baileys Coffee too!

1st post lockdown lunch today. Beautiful sunny day along the river. Staff very good we were served by Lauren who was attentive but not over bearing throughout our visit. Starters of flatbread and roasted feta which was lovely. We had pizzas as mains and very disappointed as they were very greasy and soggy. Mixed leaf salad was very good but beetroot was warm in the feta salad which was not mentioned in menu and not great. A male staff member (didn’t get name possibly manager) took our plates he asked how they were and we mentioned they were not great as we left at least 1/3 of pizzas. His response was ‘well that’s probably the oil or the cheese’ so a little disappointed that he didn’t actually take on board our feedback. I was also not impressed that he brought our bill and immediately took our credit card without us even taking time to check it, this is a fundamental courtesy surely. I then asked him to remove service charge and left cash for Lauren. Will return as apparently new menu in next week or so.

We spent the weekend at the hotel for a special birthday milestone. Delicious food on the Terrace Restaurant menu. I thoroughly recommend the Herb Marinated Chicken Paillarde, Lemon, Shaved Parmesan & Dressed Rocket for a main dish. Really lovely produce, the vegetables come from the hotels very large source of home grown food.

First time to Oakley Court and first time to The Terrace Restaurant today. The setting is stunning, however when you arrive you are not greeted at all, all of the staff look miserable and clearly do not like working there, we were there for 3 hours, and not one of them smiled during that time, they were all very unwelcoming. The food was good, not for the price, but I guess it's the views and setting that you are paying for. If they could get the staff to even pretend to be happy and train them in basic skills of how to build rapport and make guests feel welcome, it would be ace. We wouldn't go back purely based on the service., You honestly get better service in McDonald's.

Booked online for supper a couple of evening as ago. Arrived and had a temperature check by the man on the gate. Easy to park. Small signs saying which way to go. It was a balmy summers evening and a magical setting to meet friends at The Terrace. Bistro style menu (check online) and we all enjoyed our meals. Decent selection of wines too and also available by the glass. Staff were very good and it felt ‘covid’ safe.

We were staying in the hotel so decided to eat at The Terrace . Was glad we did . It was a great atmosphere sitting outdoors under the large parasols, lit by twinkling lights and lamp heaters as it went dark . The setting is stunning , right on the banks of the River Thames . The staff were very attentive and the set up felt covid secure . The menu wasn’t huge but the items they did have offered a good range of choice . The food we had was delicious, made with quality locally sourced ingredients. My husband had Bream and I had an artichoke pizza , both were cooked perfectly. There was a good wine list if you asked for it and they also did beers and a few cocktails . A massive plus got us too , was that it was dog friendly , with well behaved dogs allowed .

Beautiful grounds with a lovely view of the river, and a pretty terrace in front of the main house - with excellent food too (great grilled selection, desserts very good). I've seen some negative comments about precautions for covid in the hotel itself, but it was handled well for non-residents - clear marking of where to go, separation of guests, clean WCs, etc, etc. Expensive, but it's worth the money for a great lunch spot.

We visited the terrace outdoor restaurant and wanted to say thank you for the amazing service my friends and I received. I had a ‘big’ birthday last weekend, one with a ‘0’ in it, and due to the restrictions due to Covid I wasn’t able to have the party I planned. So like the Queen, I am having several birthdays with friends. Our table was booked by my friend for 12 o’clock and would like to mention the incredible waitress who served us. She had overhead it was my birthday and produced a wonderful decorated plate with a belated birthday greeting which was so lovely! Unfortunately I cannot remember her name but am sure you will be able to find out who it was. So again, thank you so much, we are in difficult times at the moment so these gestures mean a lot! We stayed at the Oakley Court overnight and had a late dinner at the Terrace Restaurant. We had a lovely South African waitress (forgot her name unfortunately) who made our experience very special! She advised that she will only be serving from one side due to COVID guidelines and she will keep her distance as much as possible and will try to make us feel safe - which we did. They had a special on some red wines which was 50% which we were told right away so we had a couple of lovely Barolo bottles for £70 in total. We then had the Burrata and Foccacia followed by the steak (we ordered it rare) and Chicken Paillard. Both meats were unbelievable! SO tender and tasty. the starters were also delicious! Our waitress kept coming over to ask if all was good and was incredible attentive and lovely! We were given a little complementary desert as we had our 1 year anniversary. Overall, great food!! Lovely staff and with £159 for 2 bottles of fantastic wine, 2 starters and exquisite meat, really not a bad deal! If we would live closer, we would definitely come more often but it's worth travelling from London just for the view and the food. Breakfast was OK. It was a la carte due to COVID and it was all fresh ingredients and lovely presented but I guess their usual breakfast is a little more special. Not their fault though. First day of reopening and they did a remarkable job

A truly lovely spot by the river to have dinner; great service by friendly staff; and good food. Pretty much a winner all round. Food is pizza/burger type stuff but very well done. It's not cheap - we paid about £150 for dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids. But, we left happy. We are going again next week. Tip. I possibly should have dressed up a little better having got off the boat in shorts and T shirt. This is quite a smart place.

Good choice of food on the menu, Chef was excellent with special dietary needs. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Me alojé / comí aquí recientemente y no tengo nada malo que decir sobre el servicio y el precio de la comida. ! ! Si bien la comida está en el mejor de los casos, los cargos son ridículos. 20 + GBP por un pan de pollo muy simple sin acompañamiento y alrededor de 30 GBP por un robo muy promedio no tiene sentido. La ubicación es buena y es por eso que obtiene el 1 * elevado. También pregunté si podían mostrar un poco de flexibilidad y dar brócoli al vapor para mi hijo de 3 años y no se permitía la opción de "brócoli a la brasa" (¡qué niño comerá eso!!). El menú es extraordinariamente limitado y los camareros eran muy groseros. Si esto no tuviera un lugar para atrapar a la multitud, sería el peor restaurante al que haya asistido. Al plantear mis inquietudes al gerente y a los servicios para huéspedes, me encontré con respuestas muy útiles y limítrofes. En cuanto a la respuesta esperada y muy estándar / poco sincera de los servicios para huéspedes Sr. Alistair G, consérvela. Tan insatisfecho en todos los sentidos. Sería una broma si realmente no sucediera.

The food was good for most of us, although 2 persons got overcooked meat. The price tag is quite high for the quality

We had a lovely dinner here on the final night of our anniversary trip. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They even provided a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate. We witnessed the staff being infinitely patient with a very rude diner, and I truly appreciate their professionalism. Highly recommended!

There was no running water - so the toilets were out of action - and this in the midst of a busy Rock Horror Show convention. No one knew why the water was turned off or when it would be back on. Suppose it saved the hotel some pennies. Ordered the chocolate fudge cake which actually looked like a thin slice of a Yule Log (see photo) with a tiny dolop of ice cream for £8+! The staff were friendly enough but forgot the tea spoons with the hot drinks and then forgot the sugar. The coffee was warm when it arrived. The bill was £22+ for 2 hot drinks and the aforementioned “chocolate fudge cake”. Very High prices/below average product. Very annoyed to have endured such a poor experience. Avoid.

We had a meal at this restaurant a few days ago. Magnificent setting let down by bad food and indifferent service. The staff are young and friendly BUT HAVE BEEN POORLY TRAINED. They did not explain the menu, have no idea about service, do not make eye contact and are just not bothered....BUT ITS NOT THEIR FAULT....THEY HAVE BEEN TRAINED BADLY. The chef needs training in how to cook and present his food......a Greek salad without olives.....where did you learn to cook chef? We kept the service charge on the bill......just because the service was poor.....its not their fault....POOR TRAINING. Wake up management. You have a great establishment....don't spoil things by not training your staff.

Nos alojamos en el hotel. No reservamos para el té de la tarde con antelación ya que no estábamos seguros de nuestra hora de llegada , planes, etc. Al llegar no nos preguntó si nos gustaría reservar té de la tarde y no nos dimos cuenta que sería un recurso escaso, por lo que no informen , lett la tarde tome su curso natural.Más tarde en la tarde nos preguntó si nos podía tomar té queremos o almuerzo tarde en el bar o en el salón. Estábamos escourted a una mesa de la ventana en la cercanía a otra pareja disfrutar el té de la tarde en una mesa bien puesta. Nuestra mesa no cubren, etc, el camarero nos trajo un menú, pero no había té de la tarde, pregunté si podía tomar el té de la tarde y me dijo que probablemente no que ya habían establecido dos mesas extra esa tarde. Quería decir, pero se puede ver pero no lo hicieron ; como. Así que tuvimos un almuerzo ligero, que era muy agradable, pero la mesa nunca fue establecido con un mantel y así que nos sentimos como si nos hubiera recibido un servicio cargaran experiencia/que algunos clientes. Había un montón de mesas presentadas que no te acostumbras mientras estábamos allí y lo que parecía una pena que no estábamos alojados. El té de la tarde los otros huéspedes tenía aspecto encantador.

We went to this hotel for large reunion and were not disappointed. The lunch was splendid despite the 60 covers being served at the same time. Food was really well prepared and both the meat, fish and vegetarian options were all praised.

The service here is amazing - this is 5 star fab - all the staff make you feel so welcome - we came as a small group in the evening for a drink and a dessert and the experience was perfect from start to end. We walked around the amazing gardens with sculptures...then sat on the terrace for drinks....they were very happy to serve us with just drinks and desserts (well, one of the group went for fries instead!)....it's quite pricey but so lovely it's worth it.
