Went for sunday lunch. The staff were very helpful and friendly, also can say this for the locals. The sunday lunch menu had a good choice of "carvery" style meals plus you could order from the full menu. Enjoyed it so much we are considering a return for an evening meal.

We were lucky enough to stumble across the Star when searching for somewhere mid--point for a family meet-up. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us...........even with 8 adults and 5 children. The food was home-cooked and delicious with lots of choice. The prices were also very reasonable. We'll definitely be beak.

So grateful to the staff for fitting us in to watch the England semi final when we were visiting Kent and staying nearby. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, as were the regulars. Food was from a reduced menu due to the football, but they kindly made me a veggie burger, which wasn’t on the menu. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we really appreciated their kindness.

With so many licensed premises attempting to turn themselves into ‘gastro pubs’, it is really refreshing to find The Star succeeding at being a real local village pub serving excellent quality traditional pub food at very attractive prices. Weekend breakfasts are superb, with a variety of set dishes and ‘build your own’. Prices include tea or coffee and toast. It’s nice to be served with hot rather than luke warm food, the latter becoming a seemingly common practice in many establishments. Anti-Covid precautions are taken seriously. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Parking space on the road outside is usually plentiful. A must to try.

We live in local villages (the 3 couples) to Rolvenden and wanted to kick off the Christmas season with a classic pub meal and a few decent beers (and some refreshing G&T's) in a real pub.It was great. Good quality, simple (ie not messed about) fresh, home cooked food and really attentive (but not sycophantic) service at a very reasonable price. (6 of us, including a reasonable tip was £240 for a full 3 course meal and plenty of drinks).

Staying locally and wanted a relaxed meal with a few beers. Well looked after by Lynn & Yvonne who wrote out a few extra veggie options before we arrived (had mentioned I was veggie when booking) and served up some delicious food, Amy keeping us topped on the beers and Mick putting up with our (presumably a little drunken by this stage) ramblings! Just what we wanted, home cooked food in a cosy environment. Rounded off a lovely day perfectly. Thanks folks!

Popped into the Star for a Sunday lunch with my 6 and 3 year olds. Was pleased to be told by the bar worker that toys and games were available to the children which is most helpful in keeping them entertained during the short wait for food. Children’s menu was good, and varied. Smaller sized roasts were also available. The food was great, the staff were attentive and nothing felt like too much trouble. The landladies were welcoming too. There was a real sense of community within then Star, and I felt like the children were valued as much as the adults. A great little pub to visit with the family , and without.

We visited The Star with our two boys and we had a great time. The pub was busy which I believe to be a good thing. Best of all it was filled with individuals from the community and some working in the area. We opted to sit in the back with a great view of the valley beyond the corn field and the wind mill. We grabbed a menu from the counter as it was busy and opted to help out. One of the hostesses came out to take our order. She was great, chatted up the boys and made us all feel very welcome. The food came in a reasonable time, it was fresh, hot and well portioned. Every ate their fill and had enough to give each other a taste.

The Star at Rolvenden is a good example of a friendly, typically English, country Pub. The dartboard, in one corner,,is probably a clue as to why there are a collection of trophies on show. It has a wide selection of craft/real ale beers, ciders and lagers on sale including a tasty drop of Bitter brewed in the village (Dairy). This is the second time that my wife and I have stopped here for lunch, and on both occasions the food has been superb, plentiful and excellent value for money. On this occasion I chose Liver and Bacon, a favorite of mine, that I have eaten in various eating establishments.I have not tasted better since my mother's version sixty odd years ago! The Liver and smokey bacon literally melted in the mouth, it was so tender. The creamed mash was also a delight and the gravy plentiful and a fantastic flavour. The Star provides an extensive menu, with a choice of vegetarian dishes and salads, as well as the the usual chicken, steak, ham and eggs etc. Roasts are also served with all the trimmings daily. I would strongly recommend any visitors to the picturesque Kent village of Rolvenden to be sure to seek refreshment at the Star..

Great little pub, with average food, spoiled by rather grey vegetables obviously not freshly cooked but reheated. Staff very friendly, but the tables were sticky, obviously had not been wiped with a damp cloth, especially the outside tables. Neighbouring table customers had to ask for the table to be wiped, which should be done between each customer. Good place for a quick snack if you are passing through. Called in tonight on our way back from a birthday day out for my lovely lady in Brighton. Good, well-kept beer (CAMRA Member) food was excellent and, sad to say, so underpriced! I had the the Seafood Starter (for 2) at £5 for which I payed £12.95 for an almost identical dish in Margate last weekend and thought that good value! My partner had Sausage And Mash which she reported as being 'delish' - extra gravy boat supplied at no cost!! We really wish Yvonne and her team all the best for the future.
