The Stag and Hounds Harvester in Basingstoke and Deane

We popped in for a usual pint and catch up with regulars on Saturday. The car park reguster is still positioned in its usual place right by the area people wait to be seated for food . This means that it can not be easily seen by people and is difficult to get to it would be better positioned either in the main entrance hall way area or somewhere that it can be seen and accessed without having to ask people to move so as you can use it. The bar was so busy, lots of confusion and the Landlady had to take over bar service, with people waiting for over 10 minutes to be served some (like us) were overlooked Some of the tables in the bar area were not cleared with dirty plates and glasses and some had not been wiped down. Since the refurbishment more tables have been added to the bar area so it is cramped and no way accessible for a disabled person. Whilst I appreciate you can never predict how many staff you need each day it was clear to see on the day we visited it was chaos and not the usual service we have enjoyed. Sadly, after waiting and waiting to be served or even acknowledged at the bar with a ' I'll be with you in a moment ' we left and went else where. What a shame as the refurbishment looks nice.

It was our first visit back since the brand new refurbishment and the Stag and Hounds is looking very smart, fresh, modern and comfortable, great new menu and new look Thank you Josie, Claire and the team for looking after us so well when we visited Saturday Lunchtime, especially thank you Josie for checking allergen information so thoroughly for me, and bringing me an extra gravy. Also, Claire, I love the powerful new hand dryer in the ladies. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be back again soon!

We had a random visit to this restaurant and really enjoyed the great food. Salad bar is clean and fresh and every order was hot and well cooked. Our waitress was excellent polite and here to serve us very quickly. A great evening out.

Had a lovely dinner with the family here tonight. The food was delicious with their updated menu and the service was impeccable from Josie! Always a smiley face and was very happy to help with any questions we had. Would recommend anyone to go!

Welcoming.....bright & clean...... friendly staff...... accomodating a table quickly advised due to a large party..... ordered drinks & swiftly received menus......food order placed......well stocked salad bar...main meal arrived swiftly & hot &lots of it... Few drinks & relaxed well in the surrounding... highly recommend

I did not enter the building nor would I - but I sat in my car for 45 minutes at the EV charger but the despicable sharks who own the site have fined my for sitting in an EV charging bay? So now you have to pay to park apparently to charge your car. Even though I wasn't in a car park bay I was in the only EV charging bay that I was directed to. There was no signage near the charger to ask for parking payment. It is all a dishonest odious scam. No wonder the criminal who owns the company is worth 85 million - it is called day light robbery

Only popped in for a drink but soon found out there was no chilled beers on tap and they could only serve drinks that were in the fridges behind the bar! Tables and seating area were very scruffy, dirty and certainly put us off having anything to eat there so we left 🤨

Staying at the Travel Lodge next door we booked dinner for that evening which proved to be excellent, and well presented we were impressed by the customer care afforded us, from the time of booking while enjoying a drink in bar during the afternoon to having our meal in evening. All the staff were attentive and in particular our server, Imogen, who both my wife and I commented on at the time was undoubtedly an asset to your business. Based on our experience we would recommend this establishment to our family and friends.

The whole experience was ruined by the fact they now have ANPR in the car park. This captures your arrival and exit and if you don't type in your car registration inside, they then fine you for parking on private land. I was not told by the staff of this and missed the signs. This was not helped by the fact I have three young children who I was looking after on my own, and were quite distracting. However there was ample opportunity for the waitress who seated us at the front of house, to tell us about the parking situation. I have tried to appeal but it's been rejected and I might face court action if I don't pay. What a way to treat a young family of paying customers! Disgusting. I'll never go back here again and will warn all others not to go here.

Avoid if you are eating outside, very obvious nothing gets cleaned but we had the puppy with us so couldn't go inside. Food spills on the tables, so much rubbish on the floor. We had to go in search of our drinks which were just sat on the end of the bar. The meal arrived luke warm so I can only assume that gad been sat out for some time and then we had to go in search of some cultery. The ice cream desert took half an hour to arrive after being chased up twice..... You are NOT a valued customer if you sit outside.

You know what to expectfrom a harvester so a regular visitor here. Fab salad bar which is my favoutite part. The chicken was nice and tasty. I never bother with the puddings as theyare all ice cream sundaes which is not my type of dessert, however that is just my Personal preference. The ones i saw going to other tables looked very good.

We stayed at the o site hotel for a night prior to a long cruise. The Stag and Hounds used to be our local when we lived in Basistoke. We had booked a meal at 6.45pm, but as we arrived early we decided to go in for a drink. Oh dear, most tables had left over plates and glasses on. There was a wait at the bar, and when we found somewhere to sit there was an obnoxious smell. There was a group of men who appeared to be locals whose language was disgraceful. Lots of F's and C's. However, it was good to see that the bar staff we quite happy to laugh along with it. We tried to move, but there was food on the floor and the upholstery was either dirty or ripped. When we arrived for the 6.45pm booking there was a sign on the door saying that the pub was closing for staff training. They did honour the booking, but the food was nothing special, and we were asked to leave after 2 hours. This place is in decline, and is only a shadow of the restaurant it used to be in the past. Will never visit again, and have mentioned this to many of our friends in Basingstoke

This was our first visit since the Covid Epidemic. It was excellent then, and we weren't disappointed this time. The level of customer service was exemplary from the two members of staff we encountered - Imogen and Ella. We were very impressed how they helped with dietary requirements - very important when considering allergies and intolerances. The two course deal we had was excellent value for money and the food was great too. We didn't feel rushed during our meal even though we'd booked a table at the last minute. We had a lovely evening and a valuable stop-off on our journey north. Fabulous!

Great food. Best service from Iona! She gets five stars all by herself. Had ribs and chips, have to advise you get them, apple pie and custard for dessert all the way.

Six of us booked a table here last night. The table was booked for 8:00 pm. When we arrived we were shown to our table, which was clean spacious and well laid out. The waiter arrived and took our drinks order and gave us the menu’s. At the same time we were told that nothing was available from the rotisserie menu, which on a Friday night was disappointing. By the time our drinks arrived we were ready to order food. Four of us ordered Rib Eye Steaks. After our order was taken the waiter returned to tell us only one Rib Eye Steak was available! In general I was quite dissatisfied with the kitchen staff at this venue. For them to offer very limited choice from the menu on a Friday night shows poor management, especially when only one Rib Eye Steak was available! The rest of us settled on the Sirloin. The food that we did receive was good, even if the kitchen staff couldn’t get the steaks cooked as asked - the Rib Eye was rare rather than well done and my Sirloin well done rather than rare! Overall we had a reasonably good meal but I think the kitchen needs to get its act together here. Doubtful if we will return in a hurry !

Service - Slow / Food - rubbish , cold , reheated microwave rubbish. Visited today , 2 of 4 meals were cold. The hottest part of the whole 4 of us was the warm sticky toffee pudding Don’t bother. Go Morrisons cafe instead. That’s how bad it is

5pm on a Sunday. We were a larger group, 6 adults and two young children, but we were ably served by the very capable Ella, who handled everything wonderfully. Our food was good. We were impressed when the manager came over to tell us that he wasn’t happy with one of our dishes that was being sent out from the kitchen, so he’d asked for another to be made fresh. This did mean that one of us had to wait a little longer, but it’s encouraging that quality control is in place. The salad bar was clean and tidy and replenished as needed. We were also impressed with the children’s menu offering, and the portions were quite generous. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved her build your own ice-cream, messy but fun. The 6 year old instantly regretted her choice of the ice lolly - on her first taste declared it ‘disgusting’, and eyed up her sister’s plate enviously. Such is life! (I tasted it, and I wasn’t too keen either) We don’t have a Harvester near where we live, so don’t visit one often. Pleasantly surprised, and an online discount voucher made it even better.

Huge harvester, much as expected, staff friendly and quick service for our main meals. Salad bar was fresh and tasty. Kids pizza was average , I had the maple chicken and bacon waffle, would have been better without the goujons being southern fried, the extra spice wasn’t necessary. Overall not a bad place to stop for food

We was visiting from portsmouth on a spa weekend and 6 of us booked to visit on a saturday night and was greeted by the manager on arrival had to wait 5mins for table to be cleared this was not a problem. On being seated we was told john was going to be lookin after us and he certainly did very friendly and funny made us feel.welcome interacted throughout nothing was too much trouble food good hot and all good - if we ever visit basingstoke again wel definitly be back 😁 ots not often these days you get a smiley funny waiter but today weve had faith restored johns a credit to the harvester company thank you for a good night

Nice breakfast with large portions. It was not very busy when we were there at around 10.00am but the service was quite slow. Also had drinks there the day before and that was good.

Had Dinner on Friday evening. They done a deal 3 Courses for £22.99 over the Easter. And very nice it was. Also we had Breakfast on Sunday and that was nice too. The Staff are Friendly and helpful and nothing to much trouble to ask. We shall be back.

We had dinner here tonight. Last time we ate here it wasn't great. The food was lovely but the service was pants. What an improvement tonight. We were greeted immediately on arrival. No hanging around waiting for someone this time. There was someone waiting for us at our table to take our drinks orders and our lovely waitress Josie couldn't do enough for us. What an absolute star she is. She took extra special care with my food when I mentioned I had a food intolerance and she was just lovely. Food was lovely. Service was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Special thanks to the Amazing Josie.

This is a great place to visit for family and friends! After receiving a few emails for discount off of meals, I finally decided to take the family and I for dinner and the Harvesters in Basingstoke did not disappoint! Very personal service and very attentive staff! Good to see the manager getting stuck in with the team and restocking the salad bar whilst also checking on his customers! We went during a busy period where most restaurants fail to provide good service however this is where Jamie and the team succeeded! Thanks again guys! Will be back again soon!

An old pub wrecked by modernisation. No trace of its origin - had hoped to see some pictures maybe? So dirty! The carpet in the bar area is so filthy you can’t see the pattern! We sat in a window and could smell the drains. Next to us was a staff door - absolutely filthy. I needed to park in a disabled space but it was so overgrown you couldn’t see the lines.

The title says it all really. We were in Basingstoke by chance. My partner and I had each had long days and my partner had had a truly difficult day with a 'challenging' colleague. On entry we were met by the barmaid who was lively and friendly. My partner was very happy to have her hair, nails and outfit (all co-ordinated) complimented. When our waitress (Josie) arrived she carried on the compliments to my partner. Unlike some Harvesters that are tired and/or rushed this place was ticking along efficiently and was very clean and tidy. Josie is the first Harvester waitress to report that the oil used to deep fry what may partner had ordered is also used for fish. Whether this is a normal dual use of the oil or a Basingstoke speciality I cannot know but that news allowed my partner, with a serious seafood allergy, to change her order and remain safe. The food was hot on arrival and exactly as ordered. The friendly atmosphere remained throughout. My partner left far happier than she had arrived and I even got the benefit of a voucher so dinner was not full price. 🙂🙂

It's handy because it's next to a Travelodge which doesn't have a Bar/Cafe. I went there during the winter, but I imagine it would be a great place to go to the summer.

A little surprised by some of the reviews to be honest, but many seem to forget, it's a Harvester.... It has Harvester prices... And therefore people should expect....a Harvester... With that in mind, after a poor start to a Monday morning with plumbing issues and needing to get some things from the homebase next door.. Decided to "risk" the Harvester despite the negative reviews. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff ( I think called John?) who made conversation while he showed us to a table that was clean and tidy.. The place is decorated in a clean and pleasant way and he very quickly sorted drinks and orders without fuss, breakfast turned up a little while later and was hot and tasty and of a decent quality for the money. I'd randomly got a code for signing up to the app (thinking that was the way of ordering.. It wasn't) and unlike so many other places that almost seem put out if you even suggest using a code, the gent was very happy to try for us and it saved us 25%... We left feeling happy, not hungry and it costing us less than £10 a head including a coffee.. was it the greatest 5* breakfast I've ever had.. No... But I've had shed loads worse for far more money.

We visited Harvester for the SEN breakfast with Santa event. The staff had done an excellent job of preparing the venue; no music, low lighting and tables spaced out to minimise noise / distractions. The two members of staff we dealt with (including our waiter Louie) were absolutely excellent and interacted well with my children. They seemed to have a good understanding of SEN and I didn't feel that we were at all judged, which made me feel more relaxed. The kids were each given an activity pack to keep them entertained which was much appreciated. The food was delicious, we had pancakes which were great and it was a filling meal. Santa was great too, good interactions with my children and he made sure we got some photos as well. A little gift pack was included. All in all a really positive, feel-good morning and my children left really happy, what more can I ask for?! Thank you Harvester for including the SEN community and I hope you will continue with this event each year as we would love to come again.

We booked the Santa breakfast, food was delicious and staff went above and beyond to make our morning special. Would highly recommend.

Don't expect any thrills and spills here at this harvester. This had always been our local but things have got so awful that we don't visit our local one here. Everything is put on they act nice but it's all put on, the atmosphere between the waitresses and kitchen staff is horrendous, do not expect them to customise your meal to suit you if you do not like chicken on the bone for example and want to swap it for a chicken Breast instead it simply will not happen the waitresses attitude are terrible towards you and you will have to settle for second best, this shouldn't be the case you should want to satisfy and please your customers. You can tell there is a click between everyone there, making it a totally awful experience especially for the money you pay as well

The food is top notch and the service is really good! Manager is a lovely guy! Would reccomend this place to anyone!

This place is shocking! The prices are now the same as everywhere else but the food is nowhere near as good as other places. The service is slow and the food takes ages to come out. The restaurant is dark and really cold. The toilets smell awful and there are only two locks that actually work in the ladies. I would definitely not recommend this place! Also if you don’t give the staff your registration number you get a £60 parking fine from a company called Euro car parks!

We avoided coming here for many years after slow service, often having to return food. But we have been a couple of times recently and can definitely say the place is massively improving. Service speeds have improved, food quality has improved, portion sizes are great....

From ringing to enquire to leaving, we(group of 3 adults) could not fault the service in any way. Jamie the General Manager was exceptional in his customer care. My wife has allergies and nothing was too much trouble, enquiries with the kitchen team were quick...

We had a great experience! Santa and his Elf were friendly and welcoming and made a huge effort with our (suddenly) shy 3 year old! He was given colouring, a puzzle pack, a colour in 'hat' and some magic reindeer food. Santa and his elf tried several different ways to keep him engaged and we were really impressed with the amount if face time we had with them! The Elf also visited our table a few times and my son was really excited to see her! Our breakfast was lovely and was served quickly, waiting for food with a 3 year old is never easy! We were impressed with the wide choice of food and the prices, and the portion sizes are great! Our waitress was attentive and friendly also making sure our son was having a good time. We will definitely go again next year!

Worst breakfast. Cold food. Long wait to be acknowledged at the door and shown to a table. Staff distracted and unwelcoming. We didn’t feel we could raise any issues with our server due to her unapproachable manner. I’d never go back and would certainly not recommend. To add insult to injury we were also overcharged.

My family visited for breakfast with Santa this morning. Seven children and two adults, can be stressful at times but this morning was far from stressful. The children loved the new menu, it's changed a lot since last Christmas. Pancakes were a top favourite of ours. And of course they loved meeting the big man himself. First ever Santa visit for our youngest. Thank you Stag and Hounds for welcoming us for breakfast.

My partner was not informed that when he left harvester that he was barred so when we went for a lunchtime meal for my birthday after we were seated we were then asked to leave! If this is how they treat past employees I don’t want to give them my money and I urge everyone to not work for them or eat with them. I won’t be returning or ordering take away and I’m glad my partner doesn’t work for such a petty company

me and my wife with my son and his girlfriend went for a meal here I was expecting a good Sunday roast at the Harvester but sadly they didn't do it which was one of the reasons I booked into the hotel next door so we can have a nice Sunday lunch.I expected they do something traditional as it was Remembrance Sunday and everybody was going out unfortunately I was wrong there's no Sunday lunch menu whatsoever on a Sunday I cannot believe it there was no cavalry no substitutes just a basic menu that be quite honest with you was well and truly overpriced the cheapest thing on the menu was some kind of wrap I had some kind of steak with a salad and my son had a burger and his girlfriend had some kind of barbecue skewer but I will give them this it was very well cooked nice tasting but it's a shame about the Sunday lunch.I would I go back to the harvester and would only recommend it if you had a really good job or if you just won the lottery and what amazes me is this was actually the cheap menu and main changes and goes up in the evening

booked a table, arrived on time, ignored by the 3 or 4 staff members working, no welcome or hello, asked to be seated- still waited! staff that served the table were very pleasant and polite. food was almost acceptable, half of my main dish was edible, price of dining out was average.

We will not be returning until the salad bar is self service, we all used to really enjoy helping ourselves to the salad bar and now someone is doing it for you so it’s difficult to get the exact quantity of something you want in your bowl, this is completely off putting and the salad bar is what used to make harvester unique- now it’s just a bog standard grill house. If Pizza Hut can allow self service salad bar, why can’t you??

I had Bethany as my waitress and she was very polite and friendly with a very welcoming smile, service was quick and excellent and I was pleased with the food and service. Would definitely go again!! 10/10 recommend.

This was £14.99! Add the three small prawn already eaten this was the “surf and turf” skewer. Management said nothing could be done when we complained. This skewer was 60% peppers. Tiny amount of steak and 4 prawns. Surf and Turf indeed. Should have been peppers with a few other bits.

We had booked a table for 10 in the bar for a work reunion in honour of a work colleague that had sadly died 2 weeks ago. We arrived and ordered drinks, no problems. We went on the app and ordered some bar food. After an hour of waiting we went to the bar to ask where our food was and were told that they were not doing bar food and that our money had been refunded. We were told that a member of our party knew this and we should have been told. We stated that they should have come to tell us as we would have moved to the restaurant area to eat. They said there was no space in the restaurant and we could not have food. The duty manager and bar staff were extremely rude and rolled their eyes when we said we were honouring a friend who had died. We asked to see the general manager who came out and was actually shaking with rage. We asked for the names of staff so we could complain officially and he refused to give us this information. We were polite at all times and just confused as to why a restaurant would not serve us food. The manager became extremely angry with us and told us to finish our drinks and leave. We were absolutely astounded. If we had been rude I could have understood it but we were not, we were just absolutely baffled by their attitude and rudeness. We left and went to McDonalds down the road where we received a 5* service. I will never go to this 'restaurant' (very loose term) again.

Not only did we wait forever for our burnt starters I then received raw chicken. Awful service in general to top it off! Would never come back.

The evening started with a table of 6, we popped a couple of hours prior due to the phone not being answered over 15 times. We asked our table could be amended to 7, the lady rudely stated this wasn’t possible due to us being in a booth and it was far to busy which we understood. A couple hours later we turned up to our table at which the same women mentioned that we was not allowed 7 and only 6 we said we knew. We got taken over to our table at which is was set up for a 7, this became a problem and throughout the night there was numerous empty tables.We moved along with the evening and our two waitresses Beth and Emma were amazing, they brung our food out no worries but my sister was the one that visited earlier that day when she was spoken to rudely. This same lady made a point of bringing her food out with a comment of “they moved from you from the booth anyway” walking into the kitchen rather proud herself. We continued to eat no problems the food was good with no complaints, I raised this problem with Olly the manager on duty and he was so apologetic and took our drinks or the bill. Without Emma, Beth and Olly our review would have been much different. There was still no apology from this lady and I couldn’t tell you her name as she wasn’t wearing a badge. We aren’t people to complain and the whole situation ruined our night.

Most of the menu was unavailable.My wife’s jacket potato was inedible as it must have been kept warm all day. We swapped it for chips that weren’t much better. No apology and when we got home we realised that we were charged for sour cream on a jacket potato we never had. I didn’t know they charged extra for sour crap

We visited here on Wednesday evening for dinner. We were a little disappointed to find they had no fish or rotisserie chicken and no ice-cream so the sundaes were off the menu too but these are challenging times for all of us right now and every effort was made to offer alternative choices and our waitress Claire P was really lovely and friendly. I was impressed with the salad bar and the fact that the staff have to accompany you and serve the food for you to avoid people spreading germs with dirty hands. I hope they keep this and hopefully there will be all the sprinkles available next time. Our food was delicious with generous portions and the reduced menu forced us to try something different for a change. A good effort in challenging times. Will definitely come back.

Table booked online for 17.30pm. We arrived and we’re left for nearly 10 minutes waiting to be seated, drinks order taken promptly but took AGES to come. Advised by poor waitress there were only 2 of them working that evening. Food order couldn’t be fulfilled as no burgers or chicken available. Food arrived and has obviously been sat for ages, skin on all sauces and kids meals really hot. Felt really sorry for the waitress

We visited one Saturday lunch time and our waitress was Claire. The food and service was excellent. Very pleased with our experience, happy we choose to come here as a family treat of the start off the summer holidays.Recommend the steak Sandwich and my dad said the chocolate fudge cake is a must!

Had another lovely meal. Great food and great service. Bread rolls from the salad bar were really good and the spitroast chicken was yummy. Our waitress was called Kay, and although she had a really busy section of the restaurant, she checked in on us regularly.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!Where do I even begin, if I could put 0 star I would because this place doesn't doesn't deserve a 1 star! First of all, majority of the staff were gathered around the bar area talking about non work related things where customers such as myself could over hear their conversation( for example talking about house parties) which in my eyes isn't very professional considering we over heard the whole conversation. We were served promptly by a young member of staff, however when taking us to the salad bar, we felt rushed and the salad looked like it had been sat there for a good week. Our experience went dramatically down Hill from here, we both ordered chicken burgers, half way through eating these we noticed both of our chicken burgers were under cooked and raw around the edges - a major hazard for my girlfriend who is pregnant!! we addressed the situation immediately to a member of staff who was passing and she didn't seem interested at all, although she replaced our meals with beef burgers instead and told us that there would be a wait for this. We could see the kitchen from our table and saw our burgers waiting for a good 5 minutes for a member of staff to bring them to us - this didn't happen, the staff were so busy chatting, the chef herself had to bring them to our table. We couldn't manage eating the burgers so left majority of the meal as we were so put off from the raw chicken. We were offered the bill to which we asked if we could have any sort of discount, to which the young waitress said she'd check with the manager although we didn't see him once through our dreadful experience. We were only offered free desserts no discount, so basically we paid for raw chicken!! We will not be returning here again, and have taken this further to head office.

Drunk a mouthful of a Guinness seved to me in the bar, which contained line cleaner, spent 3 further days in Salisbury hospital as a result, and could be left with further health problems. Better training and management could have seen this avoided.

Fantastic food new rolls are big and soft and our waitress Shannon gave brilliant service. Would be glad to visit again all staff were friendly

Had a table of 6 booked for a family birthday meal. Server sat us down and made no mention of there being any issue and it didn’t look particularly busy. After 20 minutes of no one even talking to us let alone asking if we wanted a drink, alongside other people warning us there was staff shortages in the kitchen we asked 4 servers stood around if there was a problem and could we have a drink please? After it became very apparent not one of them had a clue what was going on we got up and left. Won’t be returning.

I visited the Stag and hounds for lunch with my family, I thought I should book ahead as it was summer holiday but there were plenty of tables, however the atmosphere was still fantastic. All the staff were well presented and happy. I received a very nice welcome from Scott who seated us and helped us out throughout our visit. Jack also checked on us in our time in the restaurant. Both were a pleasure to be served by and both an asset to the team.

We were served by Katie and had a really nice time and the food was amazing very clean table to come to and just in general was really clean would recommended to any family

When we go out with the family we tend to go to a harvester as everyone likes something on the menu and we have always had good service until today, started when we arrived and we waited and waited to be seated, so long my husband says “come on we will go somewhere else “ I said give it another minute, shouldn’t have, eventually the drinks and the food order was taken and we waited and waited while others were being seated, eventually I went to the bar and asked what was happening and our check was not on order, the drinks were ordered so I asked if our food check had gone through, when we eventually got our food and drinks our table was not cleared and I had to go to the bar to pay our bill, we would have all loved a sundae I think we would still be there this time tomorrow We never go out and want to be rushed there are limits though!!!

Had an amazing dinner at this restaurant! Service was amazing and everyone was constantly busy due to full restaurant.

Have about 22 adults wanting breakfast and you do not open until 11.30am We are fully booked and a good cooked breakfast would help both our business Can you start opening earlyer as I eat your meal and they have improved alot Sharoñ

Two of us dropped in unbooked and given a booth. Service was quick, food tasty, the waitress (Katie) polite, chatty and cheerful - what's not to like?!

Arrived 9.00pm and ordered reasonably priced drinks. The lady let us order nibbles from the menu which were fine. Few minutes wait and hot. Asked for another drink at 10.10pm to be told they were shut. No last order warnings and sarcastic waitress. Asked to order breakfast to be told they don’t do it, yet it said on the web site they were open. Disappointed but typical chain.

Lovely meal and menu recommendations by Brooke. She was very kind and helpful especially with the younger members of our group. Will definitely come back and will ask for a table with waitress Brooke

Came in for a dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food was lovely and the service from our waitress Kirsty was amazing. She went above and beyond for all of us. Was super happy and will definitely be back soon

Visited the harvester stag and hounds Basingstoke Winchester road, I can tell you what a lovely service and really friendly environment. The waitress Brooke was absolutely AMAZING!! She helped us by offering the 3 course meal. But from the moment we sat down to when we left it was fantastic. Highly recommend! Big thank you too Brooke for a fun enthusiastic service. We will definitely be back.

Had a lovely meal at the Harvester today. Waitress very friendly and food was fantastic. Will definitely be back very soon.

Line cleaner fluid taste in Stella that we were really looking forward to. My partner and I bought two pints here today and retuned them as there was a clear taste of line fluid. No apology or even a sign of concern as line fluid is extremely dangerous. We were offered a bottled beer instead at an over inflates price. This pub never fails to disappoint what a shame. Oh and my partner is now feeling unwell as a result, thanks Stag and Hounds!!

Went for a drink on the Sunday bank holiday at the end of May as it was a nice day. Arrived to find absolutely no customers inside and two members of staff at the bar, maybe a few other staff members pottering about elsewhereAfter being seated outside - which was also empty minus two other tables - we waited ten minutes before the waiter came to take our drinks orders. By this time, one of the other two tables had left, leaving us and one other coupleWe waited over twenty minutes and our drinks never arrived, so we left. Not sure if our drinks ever made it to the table, but I’m glad we didn’t pay up front and I’m glad we didn’t order food. One of the most laughable experiences I’ve ever had at an empty pub and the staff should quite frankly be embarrassed. I definitely won’t be going back

Went today, got a table, tried to order drinks at bar, was told its table service, sat there 15 mins then walked out, Won't return.

Today I visited with my partner, the staff as always were helpful and very considerate when we asked to be moved. The food was tasty and delicious. Keep up the good work! Happy Christmas

4 of us and my granddaughter went for breakfast with santa and we had a great breakfast and the waiter was very helpful

My two granddaughters,one great granddaughter and her father had a very good meal at the Stag and hounds yesterday afternoon.The food was excellent,even though really shouldn’t have had dessert,not good for the diet.But really worth it.The staff were very understanding about a 2year old,who really wanted to go and talk to everyone in sight.My first visit but not the last.

Unable to accommodate us at first but Kirsty managed to squeeze us in and give us great service throughout the evening! Definitely deserves a promotion! We have booked again for tomorrow lunch and will give her another £20 tip!

Just want to say Thank you to Sinead for the lovely service. She was really friendly, prompt and made an effort with my niece and nephew. I work in Hospitality and know how hard it is with the new standards.Unfortunately she had a table who were hard-work, complaining about everything and anything and was criticising her service and using fowl language. It looked like she handled it very well, but there's just no pleasing some people!! Food was lovely, no complaints whatsoever! :)

Visited on 29 September for a family birthday meal. Service was absolutely brilliant, very clean and staff excellent in dealing with customers with the new restrictions in place. Would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who successfully embarrassed my daughter on her 21st birthday, bringing her pudding out with candles and singing happy birthday, it was a lovely gesture and I am very thankful to all involved. Thanks again.

A great meal - the restaurant was quiet (as it is Wednesday evening) so no problems with social distancing, the salad cart is served to you, but you still pick what you want.Friendly staff and quick service, everything you want from a local restaurant.Will definitely be back soon !

Everyone likes to complain.. but no one takes the time to give credit.. Ryan is a very polite young man, customer service was on point.. this young man needs some credit.. so i would like to ensure that he gets some form or recognition. I live locally so will pop in to ensure that someone from head office has made a point to reach out and say well done..RYAN keep up the good work.

Lovely pub, always a good vibe and the food is great. The real highlight however on our visit was Jack, a young lad behind the bar. Brilliant service with a smile, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! We opted for bar service, when we asked for sauces he brought over our own tray with all the sauces and salt and pepper. Could not compliment him more! Perfect example of customer service and a credit to the company. Keep doing what you’re doing Jack.

I came to this restaurant with my family whilst on a visit last week. We were served by a very polite and professionalet barman called 'Jack' at the bar then seen to our table by who I believe to be the boss. Service all evening was courteous and professional and the food was spot on.
