Not really somewhere I'd go again. Food quality left much to be desired.... Staff overworked ... Not their fault, but meant for a lengthy delay. And not enough staff led to a dirty looking environment ...

Quality beer & spirit selection, good quick food & service. Enjoyed a large breakfast and a pint of Brains SA. Very nice lunchtime

I asked for the mix grill, I didn't want lamb, they say that they cannot put another instead 🙄🙄... Well can you not put lamb in my plate, please?? an odyssey to make this happen.... The waiter fed up to live.... 0 simphaty and the woman that brings me plate, almost throw in the table, 0 customer support... 4 chips in the plate and very poorly... But a lot of peas🤮🤮.... The meats was cooked before yesterday. So bad.. The only good the free coffee, and plenty space.. But you know now why🤗

The breakfasts aren’t half bad considering they are cheap as hell.

Weatherspoon’s are great it’s just a shame, people who have no morals are decorum use them. We all know they are cheap as chips, so why do people come in and drink own drinks, buy mixers and add the sports from the rucksack not the first time.

Good all-around food at really good prices. Normally, drinks are included as well, so you know you're getting all you need when ordering. I have not had a bad meal from here, and I eat here a lot with my partner. Also, I come here with my older kids and my grandkids.

Rubbish. Not a soul in the place.

Tables were dirty , asked staff to clean the table , told too busy . 6 chips do not constitute a portion complaint was met with a shrug .

Pensioner landlady told me & my hot date we were not aloud to kiss in public this is Basingstoke love not the Middle East she just seemed very dry & jealous #durexlube

Not very busy on New Year’s Day. Bar staff clearly bored and having inane conversations with each other. Funniest moment was when the kitchen staff was speaking very loudly on the bar staff’s receiver asking what the vegan burger was. Doesn’t fill you with confidence! It’s clean enough in here but somehow feels grubby. Perhaps it’s the 1970s coloured decor.

The manager was a strange individual. I catch up with my mate twice a year. We are nearly 40. He deemed us too drunk and told security to remove us. Very weird. We asked for an explanation and his name. Both which he declined. Would love to hear from higher regional management on the matter

An OK branch of Spoons, however much of the pizza had already run out at 13:00 on a weekday so I had to retreat to the Angel for my lunch. Only consumed a half pint to tick it off, then walked over the way.

Main selling point here is the price. Tea/coffee at £1.05 with free refills! But because of that it feels like a glorified soup kitchen!

Worst Wetherspoon we've been in. Will not return. Saturday lunchtime out of stock on do much, nearly gave them their drinks back and left. Bar staff/ servers friendly and competent, managers didn't seem to care.

Staff absolutely useless. Ordered food that came with a drink he wanted to charge extra for the drink charged me but didn’t order the food when I check they wanted to charge me extra. Also had to wait for someone to serve they were too busy talking to friends

It's a Wetherspoons. Nothing more to say. Sometimes the food arrives hot and sometimes not. Reasonably priced and staff very pleasant. Ideal as a starter pub on a night out on the beer.

It was extremely dirty and very very tired looking inside. The toilets were filthy, and felt like needing a good scrub after using the bathroom. They were clearly understaffed as the wait at the bar seemed like a lifetime... In the whole, one of the tackiest, dirty pubs I've visited. Avoid going there at all costs unless you have very low hygiene and standards

Decent beer, typical spoons. I would sit downstairs for a slightly quieter drink. The staff are always helpful but there's not really a big enough outside area and in summer the tables are quickly full.

Its a wetherspoons you know what your getting

Wonderful little spoons over three levels going back to a beer garden near the car park. The place was fairly busy when I was there and there didn't seem to be that many staff as they were constantly running around clearing, cleaning and serving, only to start all over again. They were pretty relaxed and cheerful- again with the smiling. Unfortunately they were out of Guinness, but the Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dragon was an excellent replacement.

Located just away from town center. On multiple levels. Menu like evey Wetherspoons and it is good. Team and helpful and pleasant.

Don't get me wrong, I love wetherspoons. But this branch not so much. The food wasn't as good as other branches but the service and atmosphere was great

I've recently been visiting this Spoons in the morning for a Vegan breakfast and coffee. It's very good value for money (less than £5 including the free refill hot drinks) and consists of 2 sausages, 1 tomato, 2 mushrooms, 2 hash browns, baked beans, 1 slice of toast and margarine. You can help yourself to condiments such as salt, pepper and HP sauce. A glass of cold water with ice and a slice is free. Serve yourself free refill hot drinks are also available at two machines. Oat milk sachets are now available. The quality and presentation of the breakfast is usually good. It would be nicer if the food arrived on a hotter plate so the food arrives at the table at a higher temperature. Recently there was no vegan spread available for the toast. The staff are friendly and efficient but they don't usually check if everything is okay with your meal. So if there is an issue you would have to approach staff behind the bar. I've been visiting this Spoons on and off for about 11 years. It has a more cosier feel to it than The Angel Wetherspoons in Basingstoke. In my opinion, the interior decor of this place is well overdue for a freshen up it and looks tired and worn. It's been like this since I started going there. I don't recall ever having an issue with the ladies toilets. There is always toilet paper and soap and a working hand dryer.

Probably the most run down spoons I've been in. The toilets were in a shocking state . One was full of faeces and the other was completely flooded. I heard the bar being informed of this and I went in to toilet 20 minutes later and nothing had been done to rectify the bad situation. Health and safety nightmare. An elderly or someone not steady on their feet could have had a serious accident. A warning sign and locking the flooded cubicle to prevent people entering should have been an immediate action. I won't be going here again.

Came down on monday evening..Very rude staff...i dont know her name but she was rude, loud no customer service and always roll her eyes when we order a drink..

Return trip to this spoons and this time the place was let down by staff the place was not busy but the staff seemed stressed drinks were slammed on table when delivered We did not order food but food looked okay those who were eating never got asked if food was okay I ordered a drink on app when it came it was wrong when I went to bar was told I must have ordered wrong drink I hadn't as had my virtual receipt so correct drink was slammed in front of me no apology!!!! Also loads of tables not being cleared !! Did go back this morning and what a difference ordered food from an older lady who was very friendly she also delivered food and came back 5 minutes to check everything okay. I would give this lady 5/5 Last night team monday I would score 0/5

Incredibly cheap food in fairly good quantity as well as drinks or deals including drinks. Conveniently order via app, indoor and outdoor seating, generally very chilled atmosphere with super friendly staff. Food was delicious also. My main concern are toilets or their quite bad situation to be precise (not sure if unlucky during my visit, still should be looked into more), otherwise would be more eager to recommend.

Slow service when pub wasn't busy. Our Table & surrounding tables were not cleared for more than 3hrs. Servers brought stuff yet walked away empty handed rather than take glasses n plates with them. Disabled toilet out of use

Not sure we asked for massive jugs of cocktails but the price was good. Pub seems pretty decent for its location and clientele. Staff were friendly, I would return.

Went for lunch here and to watch Wimbledon final. Friendly service. Reasonable price. Don't miss chicken wings.. Mouth watering.. very 😋 yum.

Down here for 2 nights with work. Had the steak. Definitely good for the price. Lad behind the bar was really good. Ate my meal then went to the bar for another pint. Back to my table where id left a third of a glass of Stella and it had been cleared. Spoke to the blond lady in the golden rimmed glasses who just said 'Well there wasn't much left' and walked away! Really? So am i coming back tomorrow? Erm no. Lots of other pubs around here!

Barely any food due to fridge breakdown shame as normally good

Disgusting service. Didn't get a name but an old lady who was working last night served me a pint which was messy and went everywhere. I kindly asked if she could clean my pint up as I can't possibly a pint running down my clothes. She rudely ignored me and told me I'm not to be served again. I felt incredibly degraded and I've never had service as bad as her before. Wouldn't recommend this place and therefore won't spend money there again.

Had the misfortune of eating here twice while working in the area. First night order was wrong and instead of an apology the woman demanded who served us at the bar and stormed off. She did bring me the food in the end. So we thought we woukd risk it the second night. On asking a waiter where our desert was as been over 40 mins instead dof apologising he told my husband off for leaning back on his chair....like a little kid. My kids found it funny. The chair was threadbare and seen better days but ok...seriously need to chill out. Its a wetherspoons....act accordingly....or maybe you did 🤷😆 The lady with the cool back tattoo was very nice though.

Good food, abd everything at a reasonable price.

Service was very good, staff were friendly and pleasant,which for a spoons is a rarity, food was ok , typical spoons if I'm being totally honest, potion sizes have definitely got smaller , but hey it was an afternoon out.

I am a long term shareholder in Spoons and visit them in many different cities. This being my local, I am fond of it, more so than the Angel at the other end of town. Always find the food is quick, very rarely poor and staff are always great. It can take ages to get table service in the evenings so it can be better to go up to the bar. Always like trying different areas to sit in and find the downstairs always our preferred. I wish they could offer more plug sockets for workers in the day perhaps but it is what it is, perhaps in need of some modernisation but that would just increase the prices. Overall, better than the Angel, better than most spoons, busy in the evening and a good atmosphere with quick and tasty food.

Absolutely terrible service 2 grey haired women serving this morning stood at the bar was completely ignored then about 8 people came in walked up and got served straight away! That's the staff paying no attention at all a miserable place go to the angel instead

Was really nice pub would go again

Terrible service. Ordered table service for food and drink at 1301. Had to ask for table to be cleaned. Drink for previous occupant of the table arrived at 1315. Went to the bar to enquire when our drinks would be served at 1325, was met with rude responce told they'd get to it as soon as they could. Asked a waiter as he was passing at 1340 if there was any chance of receiving our order as waiting for drinks for 40.minutes was in my opinion excessive. Drinks arrived at 1345, food at 1350..the order was incorrect, I explained and 10 minutes later was given a tablespoon of mushy peas in a bowl. My friends meal was cold. Appalling service, and customer care.

A great local feel and great staff. It is a Wetherspoon pub so the usual food and beer value. This pub goes above and beyond to give great customer service. 5 stars.

Rating based on breakfasts being outstanding value for money and the staff being polite (on the rare occasion I go in).

Ran out of bread at 11.30.. not a good start. While waiting the 40 minutes for my meal the people around me got theirs with various items missing on numerous tables. When it finally arrived with the burger bun burnt black the waitresses said she hadn't even noticed.. took it away and never appeared again for 20 minutes...

Very busy Friday and Saturday night because of the club's at the top of town everybody go's in for the cheaper drinks before heading to the club's mostly quite the rest of the time food is cheap but ok you get what you pay for at the end of the day. Bouncer's on the doors at the weekend

Very poor service and food ,we went for a breakfast ,order came out with items missing also a number of dishes when they did arrive were cold, then sent back ,I person never received her food ,when we were finished ,was told food had run out ,we got a full refund,not a very good experience

Been waiting for a simple full English for over half an hour, still don’t have a drink or anything. I understand it’s a spoons, but it’s not busy and you’re not serving 5* food

Feel sorry for the 2 staff on a sunday morning.. waited 40 mins only to be told no food. No managment people queing for redunds. 1 person behind the bar looking streesed sort it out mangers and get more staff or work the floor yourseld instead of hiding.
