A wetherspoons which was conceniently situated for my hunger pangs however a lack of chips on the plate left me hungry. Halloumi wrap was nice but just felt a little under fed with the 5 or 6 chips that came with it.

While visiting from up north, having travelled 300+ miles, we where hungry, parked up in street, paid for 2 hours. I ordered a large breakfast, and an Eggs Benedict, we waited some considerable time for our foods, it eventually arrived, my breakfast was OK, although not hot, the real issue was with the Eggs Benedict, at first glance it looked nice, until you cut into the "poached" eggs, they are supposed to be perfectly runny eggs, what we got was 2 real hard boiled eggs, you order this meal so the runny yokes and hollandaise sauce mix, that the taste and favour, meal tottally ruined, the pub was very busy and appeared just one person running the floor, by now my partner was not going to eat anything, the hunger was lost. When I brought it too the attention of the member of staff, I was told ohh I'll get another done, that's not the point, the moment was gone, I asked for a refund of that meal, am still waiting, gave up waiting, and left . STAY CLEAR

This is my regular a friendly pub with happy staff however food constantly arrives cold and has to be sent back

Often come in here with friends for drinks and occasionally a quick bite to eat. The beer and food is always good. The staff are really great and very attentive. If it’s quiet they remember what you are drinking.

Had a lazy afternoon in this cracking pub. Nice beers, reasonable prices and good atmosphere. Highly recommend the ales.

I visit here quite a lot as there is always a nice atmosphere (in the afternoon at least) and there is always a good selection of beer and cider - Black Dragon being my favourite. Staff are great although sometimes there doesn't seem enough to serve at the bar and also clear the tables etc. One of my favourite pubs in town.

To put it bluntly, I was celebrating a friends birthday and we got asked to leave because the bar staff didn't like the fact that my friend has fatigue and health issues. They couldnt even tell us to our faces and had to get security to do it! Yet we were hounded by an absolute moron who kept trying to flirt with another friend who is in a commited relationship. Horrible staff treatment would not advise visiting

While staying at the nearby Travelodge we were advised to go to this establishment for breakfast/brunch. The positives * Good prices The negatives * One of our party immediately sent theirs back as their Big Breakfast was stone cold * My big breakfast -cold beans and the bacon looked like cardboard, I didn't try to confirming it tasted like it * American breakfast - pancakes were tough * An extra side of mushrooms was 3 mushrooms. On our question is that it, we were told yes, mushrooms are very expensive ( they are opposite a Lidls!!) Not a great experience, be aware of you try it.

Had the pizza in here, very nice. Service was slow being a saturday night but they were understaffed. Not bad value for a quick bite. Clean inside

Came here after work to avoid having to cook.......and was impressed with the service at the bar and the staff who replaced one of our dinners with no prompting - even tho we couldn't see anything wrong! Fantastic for a 'spoons' ;)

EXCELLENT ! Very prompt and excellent lady waitress !!!! This is the best meal my mother and myself have ever had in a weather-spoons . The meal was fresh, hot, everything was clean - rose Jacobs creek too . 10/10 well done Waitress fantastic smile credit to the pub Thank you

Been here a few times and always disappointed. The queue at the bar 20 mins to order. They are always short staffed especially at the weekend. Tables that are available or should be available are not cleaned or cleared. Just Very disappointed. Been for breakfast lunch and dinner and it's always the same. Price is cheap as it's a wether spoon but you get what you pay for.

Went here for a meal on Friday 29th December 17 and although it was quite busy the service was very good and the food was delivered in a reasonable time and was good quality, well cooked and piping hot, will go again when back in the area.

Went here for a birthday night out. Two pints and a full bottle of presseco £17 ! Bar staff pleasant and extremely efficient and quick at serving. Will definitely visit again!

Estuve aquí por un bistec el martes después de conocer a algunos amigos y quedé satisfecho con el servicio. Hubo un error con la comida y el personal, el niño y la niña que fueron muy serviciales y dispuestos a ver que el problema había sido resuelto, muy buen ambiente y en general un gran pub. Regresaré

This pub is one of the best I've been in- especially for food. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always clearing up. It's very reasonably priced too. I had the chicken wings with dips and they were superb.

Having stayed overnight locally we came here for breakfast and werent disappointed. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was just what we have come to expect from a Wetherspoons. Good food at a good price.

this is a Wetherspoons pub and as such I found it to be one of the better ones, there were plenty of tables and they were kept clean, which doesn't always happen at other pubs, the staff were friendly and the food was good, there were the usual Wetherspoon drinkers club gathered in the front of the pub and they were quieter than others I've come across, the outside seating was nice to sit and have a drink while people watching, I'd recommend this pub if you're looking for reasonable priced food and drink in a nice pub

Le quartier n'est pas un haut lieu touristique mais Sir John Baker vous désaltérera pour pas cher si d'aventures vous poussez jusqu'à North End. Ambiance tranquille en après midi de semaine autour d'une Newcastle Brown Ale.

Didn't know they do takeaway food also which is great to know. This was a great service as they did a doggy bag of our left over food.

Este Weatherspoon hemos visitado en los últimos tres días para cenas y desayunos. La comida es un menú estándar weatherspoon, pero tengo que decir que siempre fue bueno. No tengo ninguna queja en absoluto con la comida. Las bebidas estaban muy bien con una amplia variedad. El personal tengo que decir que fue excelente! ! Siempre tenía una sonrisa en sus caras, extremadamente educado y servicial. Estuvimos allí durante este puente de mayo y el lunes un grupo de gente que había estado bebiendo mucho eran muy ruidosos con uno (la madre) insultos constantemente. Creemos que alguien hizo una queja y el director se ocupó de la situación de inmediato y tuvimos que hacer que retirarse del edificio. Ella logró convertir una situación que estaba empezando a salir de control en la última vuelta y la paz fue restaurada para el resto de nosotros para disfrutar de nuestras comidas. Ver lo que estos miembros del personal tienen que soportar creo que todos deberian tener un aumento de sueldo! ! Excelente Todo bien hecho.

I use The Sir John Baker as my local, as all Wetherspoons the drinks are very affordable. It get quite busy on a Saturday night because people use it as a stop off before heading on to other places. I've had quite a few meals in here and have no complaint regarding the food or the service.

How is it that a large chain of pubs (Wetherspoons) can for the third week have run out of the popular bitters and lagers. Not only that but the staff without exception need lessons in customer service and speedy delivery as they would rather talk in the kitchen than serve. Get a grip PLEASE

This is a good weatherspoons, can get very busy but have always been able to get a table. Foods always been good. Always go for the burgers. Onion rings better then most places, very tasty indeed. Staff all see friendly too. Toilets always clean.

Basic spoons atmosphere with the old regular boys in for the duration . What was different to normal was the beautiful young lady serving ( the quite short one with the big smile ) I would and can I ?

Party of 6 went for their steak night to be told they only had 2 steaks left .......... Really ......... Steak night and no steak ???? Wonderful planning !!!!!!

Visited during a 'Beer Festival' event it took me four choices before they actually had the ale on tap. Standard wetherspoons range of food.

This is Weatherspoons pub restaurant and is up to the usual high standard of this chain. There is a nice friendly atmosphere and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the breakfasts, they`re scrummy. There is a public car park across the main road ,behind the Co-Op store which costs £1 per hour .Ideal for families as well as there is plenty of room for buggies and puchchairs.

I stayed the night at the Travelodge hotel (10 minuets walk from the pub) to catch the ferry in the morning. This pub was near by and as it is a Wetherspoons pub I knew it would have some good beers and good prices. It was "Curry night" so we had two curries and a few drinks. We took the "large" option on the curry which cost an extra £1 each. The portion was still too small but not bad at all considering the price we paid, about £14 for 2 "large" curries and 2 good pints. I would not recommend the curry as the quality was below average but so was the price bellow average. The popadoms were chewy and not crispy, the small bowl of curry was insufficient, the samosa was small and a bit tasteless, the rice was just ok. If I went again, which I would happily do as the beer was good, then I would choose some standard pub food which they might be able to do a better job of, Steak and chips or whatever. This pub opens at 7am for breakfast. We had to get a ferry too early for that so didn't have time to check the breakfast out. Service was swift and with a smile.

I said I would never come on to complain again but I just had to let people know about my experience today. Well we ordered our meals and sat at our table waited patiently as we were told it would be 20 minutes when it arrived I was given my meal and then my husbands was dropped onto the table spilling gravy allover the table the chap that served us said he would take it and change it I waited a short while because I think it is bad manners to start eating while others are waiting for there food but went ahead which was probably a good job because it was quite a while before a girl appeared with my husbands meal but she then had to go back for a cloth to wipe the table. After all that commotion you would have thought the food would be good but no both meals where cold and and unappetising never before have I been so let down in a Weatherspoons give this place a wide birth.

We came into this Wetherspoons as a last minute thing after a day out. We had our 2 children with us so ordered 2 adult meals and 2 children's menu meals along with drinks. The food was served within a reasonable time and the portions were of a reasonable size. The food was hot and presented well. You get what you pay for at Wetherspoons and we weren't disappointed. We would come again, it ticked the box for us as a family.

This pub is a branch of Wetherspoon's. On the last three occasions I have eaten there I have had to complain that part of the meal has not been hot enough. The pub is handy to where I live and is good value - I also thought after my first two complaints that things would get better.I had mushroom carbonara the first time, this was luke warm. I then had curry on a Thursday night, which was lovely. I ordered apple crumble for dessert, the outside was barely warm and the apples in the middle were still frozen.Last night I decided on the chicken and bacon burger, this was fine but the chips were cold - one was inedible as it was so hard where it was not cooked. I ate around 8pm and the pub was not busy - I also overheard the table behind me complaining about something that was left off their plate.I also visited the ladies last night and both soap dispensers were empty, yet the chart on the wall said the toilets had been checked regularly. I have eaten at various branches of Spoons and have always been happy so come on 'The Sir John Baker' lets have hot food please - it can't be that difficult surely?
