Loved this little friendly wine bar. My wife and I had hoped this wine bar would be open last night, not realising that it is closed Monday and Tuesday evenings. Nevertheless, as I saw a lady tidying up after the day’s trading I knocked the door hoping she may be able to sign post me to another wine bar. I was greeted by a huge smile from now I know is Pip the owner of the cafe/bar. She opened the door and directed my wife and I to to a pub just a few minutes walk away. She then spent a good 15 minutes telling us where we should consider visiting while in Windsor. We had a pot of tea here this morning and spoke to Pip again and we spoke and chatted about the story of her business, she made us both feel extremely welcome. We will definitely visit again on our next visit in December.

This is one for tourists and locals to avoid. Claiming to be a bar for the community, it felt more like a trap for unsuspecting foreigners with more money than sense. Over £37 for a virtual drip of champagne which didn't even fill half a flute and a large white wine which left me with an horrendously acidic stomach afterwards. This is not a good advert for Windsor.

Lovely, quirky little place with a few tables down and more up. My upstairs seat had a view of the street. Cosy, great service. Came in for a cuppa and a sweet, can recommend the banana bread! It’s substantial, moist and flavourful.

Windsor is dying. This absolute establishment is surrounded by average pubs, empty shops and tourist crap shops. However, this bar is a shining light in a bad-circus. Hamish and Pip, the manger proprietors, are a dynamic duo who actually care about what they do. The wine list is comprehensive, exciting and refreshing. The Riesling slaps. The cocktails are a different ball game. Hamish is a master of his craft. My uncle and I are, medically speaking, alcohol enthusiasts. As a result of this we have drank in the best bars around. Yet, the creativity shown tonight was a different ball game. We were treated like kings, and racked up a significant bar tab. My favourite drink, a Gibson, was perfected with a vermouth that can only be described as sexy. The staff are both impressive and charming. Ellie and Maddison stood out. The venue is quirky, a wonky house. The picky bits are nice and the outdoor furniture is exceptional quality. My reviews might not get seen, but if you happen to be reading this, I have to say; What a lucky chap. You will have a great night and should enjoy what is definitively the best bar this town has ever had.

The Shambles Bar has filled a much needed gap in Windsor for world-class cocktails, fantastic wines, great coffee and snacks too. Family run, this is a real find for anyone visiting this most regal of towns.

Nice little wine bar, menu was a little lacking as they offered charcuterie board on the menu but it wasn’t available, so we ended up moving on for the evening which was a shame. I think it will continue to improve. Would recommend the fig old fashioned cocktail was very good.

We are so lucky to have Shambles in Windsor. The extensive selection of wines and drinks is impressive, but what truly sets this place apart is the outstanding hospitality from owners Pip and Hamish. Their recommendations and knowledge of wines, champagne, and cocktails are next level and always on hand to give very good advice on what tipple to have! And the quirky building itself makes for a fabulous experience from start to finish. Don't miss out on trying their new food menu, especially the veggie sandwich with whipped feta....to die for! A five-star gem for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike.

James and I moved to Windsor around a year ago and we were SO thrilled when The Shambles opened! Great independent coffee shops seem to be hard to come by here… The building is so characterful, the staff are wonderful and they definitely serve the best coffee in town! We pop in with everyone that comes to visit us and can’t wait to come back soon!

Came across this wonderful place while visiting Windsor with a friend. Not only is the venue charming, the staff friendly and service impeccable, but I also ate the best bacon sandwich I have ever had. The rest of the food and drinks menu reads brilliantly also. I will be back to try it out, I recommend you do also.

We enjoyed a cheeseboard and glass of wine in the mid afternoon, following our walk along the Long Walk in Windsor Great Park. This is a very historic spot and quirky. The building is very old and interesting. The food and wine were perfect and the service was very good. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Stumbled across this little bar set in a quaint little cobbled area of town. Shambles is a great name for this bar. There isn’t a straight wall or door in the place. It’s a great little place though. We had a bottle of wine and some little nibbles to go with. Very nice simple but tasty stuff. Good oil, bread, olives, meat selection etc. Very friendly hosts too. Didn’t see upstairs but quite small downstairs. A steady stream of people waiting to be seated which is always a good sign. Probably need one more staff member to cover both floors. Lots of people from upstairs coming down and asking for their bill. Minor issue. If I lived here I would use it a lot. 100% will return.

I recently popped into The Shambles with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for some coffee and cake. This historic building has had many iterations over the years and I was interested to see what the new owner/management had done with it. It now takes the form of a cosy cafe-cum-wine bar. We were seated upstairs and attended to by a friendly waitress. I wanted something sweet so ordered the salted caramel chocolate brownie. This was marked on the menu as gluten free and I am not gluten intolerant so I did hesitate before ordering it but oh my goodness it is was probably one of the best brownies I’ve ever eaten! The building is higgledy piggledy which is great aesthetically but getting up to the toilet located on the top floor was an experience. All I can say is that I’m glad I hadn’t had any wine! All in all, a lovely little place and as I live locally I’m sure I will be back.

First time here and what a lovely place! So welcoming when we walked in - immediately showed us to a table upstairs, and such friendly and nice wait staff, even indulging/tolerating our rather silly questions! The interior was lovely from the fresh herbs on the table to the antique chairs and tables. The service couldn't have been better, and having just come from an awful experience at The Cobbles, we were thrilled to finally be somewhere that clearly cared about the customer. They immediately noticed my balloon and said happy birthday - really lovely end to my birthday :)

It's amazing that an independent cocktail / wine bar opened in Windsor and the owners are super friendly. Unfortunately, we have been going 3 times now and 3 times we were super disappointed by the cocktails and drinks in general. Last time was the last time... We reluctantly left leaving our drinks untouched they were so bad. Went to the Ivy instead where the bar was super cool, the cocktails amazing and prices the same. I would normally avoid chains. I hope Shambles up their standards and continue to bring some much needed independent stores in Windsor.

The service here is always amazing and the food is lovely and great variety on the menu. The best part for me though is the dessert trolley which always has yummy puddings on it if you have space! Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get too.

Lemon chicken salad £8.25 with only greens and 3 pieces of chicken - maximum of 30 gr. Service behind the counter is ok, constantly upselling. Good selection of cakes and pastry - in the past i tried they were good but today i was put off by the salad experience Probably wont be back for a long time

First visit on a whim after a visit to Sunninghill High Street. absolutely loved it. Very tasty tea, cakes and milkshakes. They had a lot of vegan offerings as well. Looking forward to coming back.
