Lovely local family business close to us! We go there during the week and also on Sunday’s! Food is always good and staff very friendly, they blow us away as the cost per person is excellent and we cannot complain as we are always looked after in every way.

Came here for lunch staff are very friendly Phil was amazing serving us and making us feel very welcome, we had breaded mushrooms and a beef roast I couldn't fit the pudding in also great value for money too, 2 courses all for under £ 15, would highly recommend it here there is a pic of the pudding Xmas pud with custard that my dad had but none of the main or starter as I ate it before thinking of taking pictures,

Felt very uncomfortable eating our lunch whilst hoards of mourners passed to and fro the bar for drinks. Really wished we had known there would be a wake at the same time as would have booked elsewhere. To make matters worse I witnessed the bar staff being very rude and unprofessional to one of the wake party. I really felt this was in bad taste. All the customer wanted was a clean glass bit was met with ‘well you don’t do the washing up do you’ just awful. I won’t be be returning

My first time visiting this pub, however my partner has very fond family memories. The landlady and the restaurant team were welcoming and friendly, and the pub itself had a lovely vibe. The food was delicious and extremely reasonably priced. Each course was beautifully cooked; nicely presented, and served hot. The fish was moist inside but crispy on the outside, and the nut roast was tasty, with the roast potatoes being divinely crispy! We would thoroughly recommend this establishment, and look forward to our next visit! Lastly but by no means least, congratulations on being CAMRA Pub of the Year!!

Took my Mum who walks with a zimmer my Sister who is elderly and very uneasy on her feet who has learning disabilities and my 89 year old aunt also quite imobile. Probably the warmest welcome in Sussex! Nice beer, (3 Acres IPA) warm and inviting bar with a huge wood fire. Landlady was a keen beer enthusiast, highly recommended😊

Looking for somewhere dog friendly after visiting Rye. Saw the Robin Hood was a Greene King establishment which is always a good sign. As we had a dog with us we had to eat in the bar, which is to be expected. Between us we had the lasagne and the hunters chicken. Both meals were home made, tasty and filling. What made it more pleasing for a veteran is the clear support for the Royal British Legion. Will definitely be going back in the future.

Came for Remembrance Day Tea. Food good and plentiful. Music fun. Most of all the atmosphere created by family hosting was great. A friendly welcoming environment. Want to return for a Sunday roast.

The team at the Robin Hood Inn went above and beyond to make a surprise birthday lunch for 27 guests a moment to treasure. Their Sunday roast was delicious - generous portions with a selection of fresh veg and perfect batter puddings. Great options on their Sunday lunch menu for children and vegetarians. Leave room for dessert though! Would definitely recommend them for large groups, families with young children, those who loves a traditional Sunday roast and anyone who loves good home cooked food. The service was faultless.

Would only go back for a drink. This is the third time I've been for food. First time half the menu wasn't available, second time was covid so it was a takeaway and only received half the dinner I paid for and my most recent visit, I had a roast dinner, potatoes were hard and burnt, veg wasn't cooked and the gammon was extremely salty. Think I've given them enough chances so definitely wouldn't go back for food.

What a fabulous place with a most outstanding roast dinners! Fantastic, friendly staff. The roast turkey is by far the most delicious in the United Kingdom. A massive variety of desserts, catering foe both gluten and vegan options. Highly recommended. A++++++++

Happened upon this delightful pub when our usual place was suddenly closed. We hadn't booked and although they were busy, plus a coach load of arrivals, we were made extremely welcome. A table was found for us, lovely coffee while we chose from an extensive menu. Individual requests for slight changes to meals , peas instead of salad etc , were eagerly agreed to and staff were great, food arrived quickly and was very tasty. We spent a lovely lunchtime in good company. This is now going to be our regular meeting place with our friends.

My Grandad celebrated his 90th Birthday here yesterday and I cannot begin to tell you how fantastic it was! Firstly they made it their priority to ensure that my Grandad was cool enough during the heat before setting anything up! The food was phenomenal and constantly flowing - everyone took a doggy bag home! There were no paper plates, beautiful fine China was provided. The waitresses frequently offered cooling refreshing treats like sorbets and jelly and ice cream to ensure people were not getting too hot. I made the cake for the event and Carly was so helpful and kind ensuring I had everything I needed to set up and present the cake with. She was so kind and caring, making sure Grandad blew out a candle on his cake to make a wish and that the sparklers finally worked 🤪 I don’t think I can fit my entire thoughts of this venue into this review - but take my word for it. The Robin Hood Icklesham is outstanding!!! Carly and her family run this pub and have been for over 20 years! Long May it contain to provide such a fantastic service, welcoming atmosphere and smile!

Came in here today for lunch and immediately we could tell it wasn’t going to be a good one. There is a very hostile atmosphere in the place. Staff are rude, condescending and patronising. The food was absolutely terrible - a pie with little or no taste to it and a burger (the worst I’ve ever had). Basically a badly cooked beef patty shoved into a raw, non cooked burger bun (so just cold bread) with no butter or sauce - dry as a bone with a tiny amount of tasteless salad. The chips were ok ish but no effort was made to make the food to an even remotely below average level. Very bad. No smiles from the staff, just argumentative and hostile. Also, you have to go to the bar and order, pay for and collect drinks separately to the meal. Do you not think it's a good idea to let people eating to have a running ticket for food and drinks? Just makes it that much more inconvenient as it is. Save yourself the bother of going out - buy a £2 pizza or something from the shop and cook it at home. You’ll get a more polite welcome from your oven when you open it and the food will be better. 0/10

We regularly visit The Robin Hood, Icklesham. Alway’s great service and lovely wholesome food. Such a little family run gem of a place. I can highly recommend but will say book before when you decide to visit as it very busy over the weekends.

The Robin Hood looked like a reasonable place to stop for lunch on a day trip along the coast from Hythe to Hastings, and it was a brilliant choice!The staff, all family I think, were very welcoming, and they have a great menu to choose from. Breaded mushrooms to start after which wife had the fish cakes with new potatoes and salad and I had a chicken madras with salad, rice and poppadom. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The madras curry (made by the hosts wife) was better than I get from my local Indian takeaway, and about the same price - Absolutely gorgeous!!Good sized portions, well presented and tasty and, in a world where prices are rising rapidly, very reasonably priced.A great team at The Robin Hood made us feel welcome and valued as customers. Ive driven past this pub many times never tried it.Anyway my mother and i had been down to rye harbour and decided to give this place a try.The guy who greeted and served was very friendly and polite we were seated in the covered rear decking area with lovely views of green fields and the garden area.We both had prawn coctail to start i had the 4 meat roast but omitted the turkey my mother opted for hunters chicken my roast was lovely i couldnt see the bottom of my plate as it was covered in meat with lovely roast potatoes veg yorkshire pudding stuffing a big jug of gravy and horseradish sauce was good.My mothers hunters chicken came in an oven dish the breast was huge and came with fries and salad decor of pub was lovely toilets were clean and fresh im coming here again!!

This Family run pub always ensures that you have a friendly welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The food is good traditional pub food and is very tasty and fresh at a great price. After seeing this pub pop up on my Wife's FB page, we decided to come and try their roast..We were met by a very organized pub/restaurant, who took great pride in making us feel welcome, understood and at home (but with more organization).We both had the four meat roast, and can honestly say that this was the closest pub roast to a home cooked roast that we have ever had. Having tried many pub roasts over the years, no one has ever come close on home cooked roast tattys until now!!!!Fantastic meal, great staff, we felt safe, we were well fed and are so pleased to have found this gem of a pub with both amazing food, beautiful views and very affordable prices!We will be back, regularly.

We had just completed a wet, muddy but highly enjoyable Boxing Day walk. What we really wanted was a comfortable seat, pint of beer and a packet of crisps.Sadly there was no room at the inn.The landlord was kind enough to then look at a spare table in the restaurant, cleared it and offered it to us.We were so grateful. To sit in a warm friendly pub, with our son, who was only with us for 3 days was very special.Thank you Robin Hood for offering good old fashioned pub hospitality.

What can I say except fantastic. All the staff were friendly, especially Carley who interacted with all of the diners making the experience even more special. We had our office Christmas meal at the Robin Hood last night and had a lovely time. We got a very warm and friendly welcome. The food was amazing, I can thoroughly recommend the rump steak in a port and mushroom gravy, it was absolutely delicious. How they do it for a mere £17 per head I have no idea. There were no complaints from any of my party, just a lot of empty plates!

Walked into this pub to find a beautiful open fire and Christmas lights and decorations and a great welcome by the barman . We was seated by a gentleman called Phil who explained the different menus to my party . The pub was busy with other tables but Phil managed to give us his full attention . We all enjoyed the food and the cosy atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place and we look forward to returning in the new year .

Firstly we held my daughter's wedding here on 26th October. You went out of your way above and beyond to help us for this and we will be forever thankful. It was amazing , amazing food , amazing service . My daughter and son in law had a fabulous day so thank you .We have just attended an afternoon tea . Such a fantastic time was had by all . Never been disappointed here! Huge fabulous menu and amazing value for money. Best to book as it’s always packed.We love the garden in the summer with gorgeous views and space for the kids to play then in the winter it’s so cosy inside for a roast.We had an amazing roast dinner with drinks and puddings for under £50 for a family of 4!!I don’t know anywhere else nearby that we could do that! The kids roasts were free with a paying adult! What more could you want - especially with the added bonus of live music in the bar.Great atmosphere. Will be back soon. Thanks

My granddaughters wedding reception was held here yesterday 26th October. It was all absolutely perfect the food wonderful and lots of it, puddings to die for. The room looked beautiful tooWe were so happy with everything thank you Carly, Sue, Phil and all the lovely staff in the background who kept things running smoothly.
