Working away from home as job I visit a lot of place for food so decided to come here. The bar staff were friendly and the locals greeted you and made the effort to have a chat. For food I ordered the lamb shank with veg and mashed potato, the lamb was seasoned perfectly with salt, cracked black pepper and thyme, it fell off the bone and melted in your mouth, the mash was creamy and smooth and the veg was cooked perfectly, I've been all over the UK and visited some lovely places and this is up there with best. Would highly recommend

Sixty two of us were met by the Landlady her largest group since taking over. She showed us where would be seated then she said that she had a male singer booked for us, turned out it was one we have at our club.. We were promised a good meal by the chef All the food was to served piping hot to every one on each individual table I had the fish pie which was very good. The desserts were done the the ,same way ,I had the bread and butter pudding to die for. When the meal finished every one was dancing to the music. Well we didn't know what to expect as we had not been there before everyone was saying what a great meal it was. We would like to thank the Landlady Sam , the Chef and the service staff.

Great venue with great staff who are always pleased to help and make sure you’re well fed and watered. Sunday roasts are one of the best in Ashford, if not Kent and the entertainment is second to none compared to other venues in the area.

We came here after seeing it highly recommended on a local Ashford group. Our family came to visit and we chose here for lunch. We were seated in the bar area itself for lunch and couldn't hear eachother over the shouting going on around us. Trying to have a nice lunch and a good catch up with family wasn't going to plan, but when I spoke with the lady at the bar, she was helpful and offered a separate area for us to sit and eat. It was very cold in the room we moved to, the lady commented herself more than once about how cold it was but we managed. The food was lovely, great sized portions and a menu to suit everyone. I'm hoping it's a case of bad timing today as I read mostly great things. The lady did say they were working on the pub to make it more comfortable for people lunching. The barn is a lovely area and given the bit of tlc it needs and maybe a heater or two, I could make a lovely meal space. I love going to a pub for some 'pub grub' but you definitely need that separation from the loud punters there to drink. I am put off coming back from the atmosphere we were in, but the good was brilliant and we may give it another go in the future.

Quite possibly the worst pub I’ve ever been into, smelt like damp throughout, when we entered there were two people in the garden and 4 people inside the Venue we asked to order food and he said can we wait 10 minutes until the kitchen is ready - we said no problem. We then proceeded to order a cheese baguette and a ham baguette only - we waited an hour patiently and then had to leave to be somewhere with still no food in sight, we went to the bar to say we had to leave and we were happy to just leave, he said the food was ready and would we like it takeaway we said yeah of course, 5 MORE minutes passed and someone from the kitchen arrived to say it wasn’t ready at this point we weren’t surprised. We left without even a hint of an apology, on the plus side the red stripe was only a little bit flat not fully 👍 Atmosphere 1 Service 1 Food - couldn’t tell you

Lived in the area for a couple of years now and finally gave myself time to check this pub out with the wife. A couple of alcoholic drinks, a couple of lunch time meals and a little something sweet to finish us off and was rather impressed. Decent price for an Ashford pub. Decor a little dated and needed a little retouch but that's the only minor negative. Staff were friendly & attentive when needed. Will visit again.

Avoid at all costs. My partner & I stopped off for a drink on Sunday afternoon after we had been shopping at the ashford designer outlet. Ambience was awful. Vibe was off - We walked into the pub was looked straight through - the barmaid was extremely rude, and carried on her conversation over the bar whilst we stood there waiting. No warm welcome & very very dated inside. We ordered a drink each - £22!! Needless to say we drank our drinks and left. Will not be going back & do not recommend.

What you say has nothing to do with the other people counciling on us. It was to do with booking a hall to late. We was asked to leave not even 2 mins after the music was turned down n yet we had brought drinks not even 2 mins before because we was told we was aloud by your husband? So what he expects us to finish our fulll drinks in 4 mins does he? How ridiculous. You never called the police because no1 was at the pub at quater past 12 😅🤣 how many lies that have come out your mouth is amazing. We paid for a hall that was dirty and ridiculously small... you shouldn't have to read our minds to know weather we want the furniture take out? It's a party not a get together for 60 years old that want to sit down. It's not exactly common sense is it. And to top it off at the end of the night we had you out the windows abusing us calling us C U Next Tuesday telling us to go home n get of your property when we was on the main road? (Not your property) and then you continue to abuse us as we are leaving? You wonder why we told you to F off as well? 😅🤣 absolute joke you and your whole pub. Bar staff was rude. LANDLADY was RUDE wouldn't advise to go there at all not even for food or a drink. Gobsmacked absolutely gobsmacked.

We booked the hall attached to the pub .. Never again. ! Not only was the hall full of furniture that we had to rearrange and take out of the hall ourselves ( 200 cost for the hall ) It was dirty . floor had not been mopped or swept from the last people who booked. Some decs were still up from the last people.. We were then told we had to stop the music at 11. which we did.. but then got told we had to leave straight away noone was allowed to finish there drinks ! and he expected us to clear the hall aswell . ( dunno how we was meant to do this in 5 mins ! ) Then to top it off we were walking past the pub as we were leaving and got abused by the landlady .. She shouted out her window at us . called us drunk c u next Tuesdays and told us to shut the F up! After we just spent 100's of pounds I there pub! Disappointing food and service. Highlights were the chickens outside. I made contact before making a booking to ask about gluten free options. I was told they have gf bread and can exchange bread in the menu items for gf. I then booked a table for lunchtime on a Saturday. When we sat down I mentioned that I'd sent an email and just wanted to check I could swap for gf bread. She went off to check with the kitchen and came back and said they'd run out of gf bread and were waiting for a delivery (there's a big tesco minutes away, gf bread is quite readily available...). Had I been there with just my partner I'd have left and found somewhere else but I was having lunch with my elderly relatives and we'd travelled over an hour to get there. I had a burger and asked for no bun and it was fairly dull and tasteless overall. It was meant to be served with onion rings but none were served with it. I asked the waitress and she merely said "oh weren't there any?" and then shrugged as if there was nothing she could do. For a veggie burger and a bit of salad, £16.50 is extortionate. The price doesn't suit the quality of the food, menu options or location. Other food we had was dry chicken burger and cold custard with dessert (we'd asked for it hot) and all quite disappointing and expensive overall. Glad we saw the chickens outside but we won't visit again for the food.

Lovely pub but extortionate prices! Double gin with lemonade £12.25. So £5.40 per shot of gin, no deal on 2nd shot, £1.45 for the shot of lemonade. So you can buy a bottle of Schweppes lemonade for £1.20 & a bottle of Whitley Neil for £26. Fair enough the pub has to make money but when you compare to other local pubs, the beaver inn £6.50 & the Albion £6.40 I think it’s a bit too much it’s not London after all. Landlords response when we inquired why was the rising fuel costs. Well all pubs have the same high costs & with the queens head making almost £200 per bottle of gin I just can’t warrant it & won’t be returning when there are plenty of other lovely pubs nearby that care more about their customers.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the food here. Chef must have been on holiday. Menu completely different to that advertised on the website. Service was mediocre & some of the food was inedible. Very over priced too. £18 for a tiny very overcooked and dry chicken breast, 4 50p sized potatoes and a pot of peas that should have been asparagus!! Batter on the fish was soggy, chips were very dry. I hate leaving bad reviews yet even after clearing away 4 mostly full plates we weren't even asked if the food was okay. This was my second visit, the last time was before COVID started. Enjoyed the visit last time which is why we went there on Saturday. Lovely pub, only problem was that we were in the garden and there is a Triumph franchise next door so it was quite noisy. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. In the evening would probably be a better time to visit Having said that, I cannot fault the pub, the service, the quality and quantity, and the general ambience. Ordered 3 adult meals and two kids. For my wife and myself we had a ploughman's, cheese for her, ham for me. Wow, talk about fully loaded I reckon I had about the biggest serving of thick cut ham in my life, and my wife had the same with cheese. Salad, two chutneys, Picallili, onions, grapes, apple and 4 tomatoes. Plus bread focaccia, and butter. Usually my wife and I eat everything but this defeated us both. My wife committed a cardinal sin for her, being a cheese lover. She left about 200g of cheese on her plate. A true first for her. My daughter had an onion and steak sandwich, about the size of a halfpounder with fries. Smelt beautiful and she tells me it was lovely. My grand daughters had pizza, 1 gluten free and one normal. Well done to the staff who asked about gluten and dairy free rather than us mentioning it first. The staff were very friendly and checked that we were happy throughout. If you are in the area, and feeling hungry, I'd say get in and enjoy.

Unfortunately for me this was not a good experience. We arrived the barmaid was very friendly but the gentleman didn't seem to know alot. Advised of a long wait for the pepper 'pie' and we advised that all meals would be better coming out together. So after 50 mins a young girl asked what potatoes would two of the diners like (this should have been done at the Time of order, along with bread and butter that came with the meal which would have been ideal for someone who had an hours wait it wasn’t busy so there was no excuse.. When our food arrived over an hour after time of order it was very mediocre for the price charged. My lamb cutlets were two extremely tiny overcooked bits of lamb. With the plate being filled with veg. The pie that takes an hour was peppers and mash?wheres the pie that takes a big preparation? This was all in all a bad and overpriced experience and i definitely wont recommend the restaurant. I eat out a lot and this is not the standard reflected in the prices charged. I wont be returning… not sure why people would eat there but it was very quiet for a Saturday and i can definitely see why as the poor food quality, rip off prices and slow service.

A great dog friendly pub, they have made a real effort in the garden area with lots of lovely gazebo outside. Clean with friendly staff.

We had a lovely meal cooked to perfection, starter brie enough to share for 3 of us. All had the sea bass with scallops, so tasty. Could not resist an ice-cream for sweet, lovely. Staff friendly and attentive and wore masks. Met the chef and...

Very poor standard food, had the nachos as just a bar snack, an hour later and violently unwell, called pub to tell them. Had homemade soup last time and it was tinned soup so I sent it back. I won't be eating here ever again. I only gave it a chance as was told new owners. Appalling

Unfortunately they were only serving a reduced menu. We had looked at the menu online so already had an idea of what we wanted. The food we did have was ok but nothing special. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Always greeted with smiling faces and, very often, they remember what you are wanting to order.

Singleton Barn is a very accommodating and welcoming place to be, as well as accessible and disability-friendly. There is level access, double doors for wheelchairs and buggies, and a disabled toilet that is sizable enough to fit a wheelchair and assistance dog if needed. Disposable hand towels for autistic children etc in lieu of a hand dryer too. Sight-loss educated staff who pointed out where the card reader, cutlery and food items were without being made to feel othered etc. Kind, polite and helpful. The food quality is phenomenal, with generous portions for a hearty pub meal after a walk on a cold winter’s day. Photo attached to give a general impression of the interior. Calm ambiance, warming decor, family friendly atmosphere.

Never been here before pulled in on the off chance on a Saturday afternoon fantastic welcome by the landlady. My wife had a Ploughman. I had a ham, egg and chips. My wife said it was the best PLANS she’d ever had and my ham and chips was spot on give it a try you won’t be disappointed and great value for money.
