Best fish and chips I've ever had 10/10 for everything would definitely recommend.

The scampi is to die for!! Great value for money and would definitely reccomend to anybody thinking of giving this place a try 😍😍😍

The normal place we use whilst on holiday was closed on Sunday so found the Proper Fish and chips shop and glad we did good size portions and perfectly cooked Fish with crispy oil free batter and a chicken burger cooked perfectly and not overcooked, the chips were Proper chip shop chips. We will return when we come back later this year.

The best gluten free fish and chips in Exmouth! And ever! They even have cider vinegar which still gives you the tasty chip-shop chips. Great staff and always fresh.

Tried this place for the first time, we are local to exmouth. Didnt like the fish or chips-, greasy fat on fish, no flavour. Chips nearly edible..no flavour, felt like they had been cooked ages ago, soggy and didnt finish the portion cos of the unpleasant taste. One good point, the bag was quite colourful!

Nice little place but Portion size of the large chips and fish need looking at for £11 the same size as the more popular medium offering down the road. Maybe get it right next time. Update... Portion sizes still not up to scratch. £3.50 for large chips. Not large, definitely medium, and as for those white boxes they now come in? Make the food smell. Cardboard or paper next time 🙄

Love this place, definitely the best fish and chips in Exmouth. Great menu, locally sourced fish and spuds and they do their best to be eco friendly. (No plastic etc.) the chips are much less greasy than other places too

Great fish and chips, but the additional bits were what made it 5 star. The fish was good for the most part (flavoursome and tender) but with a large fish by the time you got to the end the underneath batter was all soggy and oily. However the chips were good, and the mixed seafood platter was spectacular! I'd go back just for that platter. The salt and pepper squid was terrific.

The large chip portion wasn’t really large and of the 5 pieces of fish I ordered not one came with tartare sauce as per the menu. Quite disappointing for what I paid for such a large order. However the food was tasty at least.

GF food always available, it is tasty and always cooked well, and the staff are friendly. What more do you need!

Fantastic fish and chips! I'm not a huge fan of it usually as some are usually super greasy and with hardly any fish with too much battered. It's fresh! I have to say it's banging fish and chips! The whole family enjoyed 👌🙌 We ate everything, didn't even managed to take any pics 😆

Very disappointing. It's expensive and the chips were luke-warm, no need to be charging those prices, you can still make a profit.

After spending many years holidaying in Devon we have at last found the perfect fish and chip shop. Our family had two takeaway meals last week comprising of, Cod, Cod roe, Chicken breast, Sausage, Onion rings and chips and both times everything was cooked to perfection, white fish, crispy batter, succulent chicken, soft roe and proper chips. Some of the best fish 'n chips we have ever had. Even better they were gluten free!!! Lrage sized fish, wondeful GF batter, really tasty and 'thick' chips. Homemade Tartar sauce. Ab-so-lute-ly brilliant and at great prices. Staff so friendly too. We travel from North Devon down to Exmouth twice a year and we always stop off here for our Gluten Free fish and chips.

Have been having fish and chips from here for several years, however the last few times the standard has dropped. Last week we had fish, chips and mushy peas and the fish was of a very poor standard. The actual fish was grey and thin, and was very dry. The batter was extremely hard and almost orange in colour. It was almost brittle on the outside but still uncooked on the inside! It was actually inedible. The chips were OK, not great.

Some of the best fish and chips around.. cooked to order and good size .. service is very good and teamwork by them all is great .would highly recommend

Tasty Fish n chips. Even better as they offered gluetin free batter. Cooked to order. By a main road so outside eating a bit noisy. Not really anywhere to takeaway too. Unless obviously taking home. Not near the beach.

Probably the best chippy I've been to. The food was gorgeous, the fish was perfectly cooked (and massive!!). The service was outstanding. We arrived as a party of 12 and the person serving us didn't even flinch!! He took everyone's order and served us at the tables. One of our party is gluten and dairy intolerant and she was easily catered for. I would highly recommend a visit to this place if you're in the area.

Best fish and chip Ive been too I don't like comparing but when it comes to customer service and the quality of food easily go for proper fish than others In Exmouth. As a vegetarian I always go for the veggie burger toasted bun and full of flavour this is the best veggie burger I've had in a long time. Family always have classic fish and chips it's never too greasy. Always recommend going here if you want the best fish and chips 🙂

We live localy, and use this place regularly every Friday for the excelent quality, service, and value; So many places over-cook resulting in very dry fish; these guys have got it spot on with moist, flakey cod every time. Having tried every chippy in Exmouth over the last few years, this is absolutely the best in the area by a mile. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious! The cod was very well cooked and great quality. There’s also veggie options and the battered veggie sausage was great. The curry sauce is the best I’ve ever had too

We ordered, cod and chips and chips on there own. When I opened the cod and chips I was dunfounded to see the cod. It was about 5inches long and I'd paid over £7 for the cod. It was a total disgrace. Im originally from the North of England and ive never been given anything that small. Because Exmouth is a tourist town these companies think they can get away with it. Well you won't be getting our custom again, or our family and friends, and as many people I can tell.

Another Fantastic Find. I can see why they have won awards. We called in to see if they did Gluten Free Food which they did. Because one of our Friends was Celiac. They told us that they cook the food totally separate from the other foods. We had fish and chips which was accompanied by individual Tarre Tarre Sauce with one of their burgers. Being given wooden type knives and forks plus serviettes We enjoyed them all very much. The Two chaps Serving were very helpful and friendly. We now know where to go for next time.👍👍😁😁.

The best customer service I have in in a very long time, better than a lot of restaurants I have been to. Staff are friendly, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in, the environment is great and the food was lovely, served to us at the table on a nice tray. Thankyou so much to the staff, you are outstanding.

Had some lovely food from here, Did a big order for four of us. All done quick and was awesome food. The calamari was spot on.

If you are in exmouth take a 5 min drive off the seafront and have an amazing fish and chips. Crispy batter and the fish just fell apart. Was excellent. They also provide homemade tartare sauce. We had a side of curry sauce which was the best curry sauce we have had with fish and chips. Top quality. My daughter ordered a cheese burger which isn't your standard burger. The beef patty was top quality and my daughter loved it. We actually went back to thank the two fellas who were working there as it was so good. When we are back in exmouth we are definitely going back!

Absolutely love this place, had the cod and chips with the homemade tartare sauce, my daughter had the haddock. The portion sizes were excellent and the quality of the food was some of the best I’ve had.. It’s great to see a small independent Chippy thriving.

This place is hit n miss we been few times had lovely food but this week went and when we got to sea front looks like a child portion and for £22 for 2 fish n chips coukdnt be bothered to go all way back so went back today to have a word and was met with what do you want us to do as if I was lying and was offered a free curry sauce il go back to krispies down road as customer service is awful

My mum and I went here when we were starving. The staff were really nice and our food was quick to make. Good old fashioned chips. However, the burger was very hard to eat without salad (they didn't have any at the time and we didn't know since we ordered online). Had I known I probably would have gotten something else. It is a tad bit expensive which is a down side as I feel you could get it cheaper elsewhere for the same quality or even better. Overall though, it is a good place to go and the portions were huge.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had. How on earth do you mess up fish and chips. Chips were soggy, bland and we're like they were in the box for over an hour. Even though we got there 30.kinutes after opening. The fish also were like it was in the box for 30 minutes. even though we saw them cook it fresh. Also tasteless and dry. Tare tare sauce is mainly mayo and gerkins. There is a taste but not really tare tare sauce .

Nothing special here, decided to give them a try but not worth a second visit, need to go back to Crispies.

Since my last visit the ordering and queueing didn't seem to be as manic as my last visit. The food was cooked fresh and the batter was light and not greasy. Good size portions

Possibly the best gluten free fish and chips I've had. Friendly staff that all seemed to be quite aware of gluten. Reasonably priced for a seaside chip shop and to top it off, my 2 year old that never eats chips or any form of potato for that matter was happily eating my chips!

Absolutely incredible gluten free fish and chips. Separate fryer out the back for the fish! We've visited quite a few GF chip shops across the country and this is by far the best yet! We had the most amazing gluten free fish and chips on Tuesday night. The best we have had. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The portions of fish are large, but chips cost extra and portions are small. Also they handed us enormous takeaway bags and when we opened them there were no tartar sauce, paper napkins, or cutlery. The sign even specifically says fish & chips come with sauce... Shopfront small and more fume-y than other fish & chips places.

Great little place, hidden away from the high street or the beach front. The prices were reasonable and the batter was thin and crispy. Fish was freshly fried to order and it tasted amazing. They even have eco friendly sustainability theme going on with the knives and forks and also the containers for sauces which were made from plant based materials
