This is a somewhat unappealing pub on Newbury market place. The barmaid stated she was new and hadn't a clue where anything was. It was clean but there are better options close by. Sport was shown on the TV

Not too keen on the canal bar at the rear but love the front bar. Great bar staff and a good atmosphere. A few decent ales on tap plus Guinness. We're hooked.

Management are terrible Thursday night rude and I would rather take my money else where so should anyone that wants a nice night out stay away from this place!

Last year we went to the rear of this pub for the canalside seating. That was ok but we didn't like the rear bar and area. This year we went to the front bar and what a difference. Great atmosphere and service, almost like 2 pubs. We returned a few times during our visit.

Best pub in Newbury, very friendly bar staff, great manager and a wide selection of beers. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in Newbury.

As the “costa training centre” if this one ain’t good then you ain’t going to get any better. It was a massive building with beautiful views of the canal in the back areas. Two outdoor seating areas on the main town road and down in the water side. Very busy but helpful and efficient staff with lots of space inside.

Great breakfast; opening before the park at 8:30, so a civilised start to my working day some distance away. Traditional English breakfast with the food locally sourced - even the baked beans were home made! Good food served by nice people; many thanks.

Raw randimly chopped vegetables mixed with few cuts of beef. Thai food must be full of spices and fish sauce bit used rocks of salt sprinkled on eveeything even the rice! Nasty food, not even suitable for my dog. And restaurant has a foul stench smell of wet socks

I visited here in two separate occasions, one with my sister-in-law and the daughter (age 13) this visit was primarily to do the pottery painting? I can thoroughly recommend this, brilliant activity if you’re into arts and craft. The second occasion was with my husband and my dog to visit the garden centre. This we find it to be a well equipped garden centre which is not overpriced. Some lovely ideas for gifts, outdoor clothing, garden furniture, plants and a pet shop. The Garden centre is dog friendly with a few areas around which does not allow dogs. There’s quite a lot to do at this location , especially if you have a YoungFamily, butterfly, soft play, petting zoo, pottery painting etcetera. There are two cafés at this location, one of them being dog friendly with a segregated area for dogs and the owners. The café is okay, not great. We ordered a sandwich, cheese scone and a pot of tea. The sandwich took 45 minutes to make, It was a nice sandwich although 45 minutes to wait for a sandwich was a bit of a joke. In summary: dog friendly garden centre, children activities, location easy to get to, free parking and a cafe. We will revisit.

Nice place to visit, shame there is not a restaurant, just a café.
