We wanted to experience the roast dinner and it was truly delicious and so was the starters and dessert. Staff are friendly, have a garden for kids to run around. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in for lunch on Sunday afternoon (about 3pm). Food served till 5pm. Had the Beef / Gammon dual roast and it was amazing. Apologies for no pics of plates, but as soon as they hit the table they were eaten without thought. Great selection of drinks, we had the non alcoholic as driving. Still about 4 options for non alc beers etc. lovely service and great atmosphere. Check ahead for live music too! Will certainly be returning often.

A real let down to the beautiful village of Tatsfield;; residents and visitors deserve more. Drinks are overpriced, prices that are not justified considering the severe lack of atmosphere and ambience. The lighting is terrible and the indoors shabby and uncomfortable. The staff are rude and lack any warmth or customer services. No wonder the majority of local residents still flock in preference to the quality of The Bakery or the warmth and friendly nature of the village club, with realistic and respectful prices that do not take the p*** thus often leaving The Old Ship embarrassingly empty on a Friday and Saturday night, especially during the winter months when the garden is out of use. As a family we would prefer to pay for a cab to any other pub than have to suffer the poor service, appalling ambiance and overpriced food and drink served in our local. What a shame!

Great little local pub, very cosy with the stove burning furiously in the corner. Nice friendly staff, great selection of beers and Ales. The food is really good traditional pub grub and they have a good selection of vegan options too which is great for me. The atmosphere is very nice too, very family friendly and there's a playground in the garden for the kids. What more could you ask for???

Moved to area recently and thought we would try pub for a quick lunch whilst working from home - not terribly impressed - pub smells of old oil due to lack of extraction or filters not cleaned - sat in garden with our dog and as there were only 4 people in garden (no sun shade on any tables) we let him off lead - he’s a 14 year old Westie (so of course terrifying to others) - he wandered over to the dog bowl and we were immediately told to put him back on lead - by this time we were the only people in the garden - everyone locally we have spoken to warned us off this pub and we wanted to give them benefit of the doubt, but with the lack of sparkling water (acted like this was a weird thing to ask for in 2023) and the food menu being circa 1982 we will not be returning - nor will our dog - this community pub has all the bones of a great pub, fab sized garden, centre of the village but it needs a shake up and a move to modern pub culture - it could be amazing and the heart of this village - but it’s far from it and it’s very disappointing.

Tipped up to try the place for the first time and sample the Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and a reasonable price. Staff where very happy and helpful. In the back there is a decent garden and a decent size play set for small kids to vent some energy on. Definitely a recommendation and one we shall return too.

Really lovely friendly pub with good service and good food. In pretty location by the village green. Well worth a regular visit! Also, excellent live music on some Sunday afternoons.

I recently visited this establishment with my Aunt, we went to celebrate my birthday. We had lunch in the garden and were so impressed by the whole place. We spoke at length to the landlady, her and her staff were so accommodating. My Aunt & I are both disabled and everything is usually ordered at the bar, however we were given exclusive table service without question. The food was delicious and great quality and all the pub regulars were friendly, polite and really respectful. Ye Old Ship & it's staff are a wonderful edition to the village. Thank you

Beautiful setting for a refreshing drink on a warm summer's evening. Spacious beer garden with play equipment for children. Excellent range of alcoholic drinks and non-alcoholic alternatives. Food too (but I didn't eat on this occasion).

Visited here a few years ago and it was dire - gloomy, depressing and grubby- quite a transformation on my recent visit. It’s clearly had a refurb and it’s now really nice. Particularly pleasing is the outside area with plenty of space, well-organised tables and a sweet children’s play area. Staff are friendly and helpful-it’s a good place .

Popped in for lunch and cannot reccomend the pizza here enough, obviously home made and lush.

Great beer, superb service, fantastic food.

Met a friend for lunch. I had Ham & poached eggs, my friend had egg n chips. Tina was great, lovely lunch, coffee and tea to follow.

We visited the pub as a family group and were some what disappointed by the service. Whilst the space and greenery within the garden area were lovely and the accuracy of our order fulfilment spot on, the friendliness of the bar staff left a lot to be desired. The head Bar lady seemed to be inconvenienced by our presence - going through the motions, we the air of letting us know she would prefer it if we were not there - certainly far from warm, friendly and welcoming. Having readily served members of our group, she then waited until we were leaving to challenge whether or not they had id, which seemed like a contradiction and as if she was relishing the opportunity to humiliate, rather than follow licensing laws and check id at point of sale. Ultimately a real shame - we are all desperate for a local pub that offers a warm welcome to the local community, but this is clearly not it. Instead we were met with mediocre service and and a welcome that lacked warmth and authenticity and was more hostile than welcoming. If you want to last, do better...

We visited here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised; the two ladies who served us were friendly, helpful, had a sense of humour and made us feel very welcome. The gin selection was huge and I was very spoilt for choice; the menu was small but varied. The stone baked pizza I had was delicious and the burger my fiancé had was good quality and very tender. Because we enjoyed our main so much, we couldn’t leave without having dessert! Again, no complaints, the waffle was lovely and so was the brownie sundae. The prices charged were very reasonable and worth every penny; I highly recommended coming here, you won’t regret it!

Out walking (London Borough of Bromley Biggin Hill Circular) having already had lunch. Reached Tatsfield just after 3, glad to find the pub open till 4. Friendly staff happy to oblige, and making sure I got my bikkie too. Noticed on the board outside that they do pre-ordered food on a bring-your-own-plate basis. Great idea: saves packaging and time. May well take them up on it sometime if I can.

This is such a lovely, friendly pub to visit. The food was lovely, served up very hot 😋 The ladies behind the bar were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We were in the village because my daughter wanted to buy a chicken to replace a much loved pet. (Local chicken farm had the breed she was looking for). We ended up with two! We were allowed to take them into the bar with us whilst we had a drink before returning to Crayford and Grays respectively. Such a friendly atmosphere. Staff and regulars a like were so chatty with us. Lovely village to visit. Lots of hills though!

Not from the area so not familiar with the pub, but so glad I called in. It was pretty busy so I expected a bit of a wait. Pleasantly surprised when my roast beef dinner arrived within 10 mins. It was fantastic!! Rare beef, crispy potato's. and fresh veg, all served with piping hot gravy. Very filling so I couldn't manage a pudding. Would definitely recommend it.

Spent an hour or so here last week, on the off-chance. Visitors will discover an attractive range of beers, a pleasant welcome, and a clean and scrubbed interior. For those who like the great outdoors, The Ship has and a surprisingly large beer garden, which we were pleased to be able to use.

Sunday roast and scampi and chips, roast was ok, did not like the vegetarian stuffing, tasted of nothing really, too dry, Yorkshire was ok but I did not think that it was home made, pork loin was lean and succulent. Had crackling which was good, overall was just ok, cannot comment on the scampi. Very limited menu, not really a good choice, no burgers, curry, lasagne fish and chips, you know the usual things. Dessert was expensive for pub grub, have been here around five times, do not think we will be going back. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

We stumbled recently on this lovely pub and went back yesterday evening for a meal, taking a friend with us. It's a proper pub with an area to have a drink, a cosy restaurant and a great garden with kids' play area. The landlady, Tina, was friendly, as were the locals and their dogs. We had a lovely and very reasonable meal. We'll definitely be back soon

Great local pub with with good selection of beers, lagers and gins. Great Sunday roast at competitive prices with children free roast with every adult. We hired this venue for my wife's birthday which everyone enjoyed.

We stopped in to the Ye Old Ship for lunch on a very wet Friday. It’s a traditional friendly pub, with some great beers, that have been looked after properly. Very friendly staff made us feel welcome, the menu was good traditional pub grub, but we thought we would give the pizza a try and by god we were so glad we did, we haven’t had pizza taste so good since we were in Italy, a real surprise for a pub in a little English village. If you are passing Tatsfield make sure you pop in and try the pizza with a good beer.

We attended pub for family meal x all had roast all different. Food was yummy and gorgeous plus they catered for our 2yr old. The manager is a lovely lady and even provided extra gravy x x

The food was all home made and was delicious had no faults what so ever.food and drink was reasonably priced. And we was worried we was going into a local pub and would feel out of placed but that wasn't the case at all. It was very welcoming. The garden area is massive with a kids play area and will 100% come back with my little one when the weather is nicer

Great little pub in the heart of the village. Good range of beers, including craft ales. Reasonably priced menu - the pizzas are really tasty (not served on Sundays) and the Sunday roast is excellent value, particularly for families as one child eats free with every adult main meal. Good sizes beer garden too and very friendly staff.

A great pub. Staff really friendly. Garden nice. Food menu really good. It’s a great place to go for a drink plenty of bar stools as well as nice eating area. It’s has a nice balance In that respect.Even on quiet days the atmosphere is warm and friendly.Nice walks nearby or simply take the bus which stops right outside.

We went to Ye Old Ship a couple of weeks back and ordered our Sunday lunch, the pub were very welcoming to us including our little pooch, the dinners were very good, having ordered the roast pork with extra crackling, also ordered was the steak pie and the nut roast, nut roast was rather disappointing, texture was good but it did taste like the stuffing you have with chicken. The puddings were lovely although they did appear pre made and heated in a microwave.

We had a lovely lunch on Saturday. Great improvement on past ownership. We will be returning for Sunday lunch in a week's time for my birthday.
