Yesterday me n my family visited for the frist time.. what a gorgeous beer garden with a bouncy castle n decking areas .. lots of screens to watch the football. The staff where very friendly. I ordered the steak which was on point juicy n well presented .. definitely going back very soon highly recommended !

First time going, staff were really lovely. The pub had an amazing atmosphere. The garden area is beautiful, they even had a bouncy castle for kids ! I ordered the smash burger and it was honestly the best burger ive tried 10/10 my partner got the steak which I tried, again 10/10 Food was amazing ! Will deffo be returning for their lunch time special

Very nostalgic after returning over 15 years after hosting our 18th here. Gladly, a lot has changed since then and the garden is under construction but looking great already. Lovely chilled atmosphere anf friendly staff.

We booked for 4 people to have a carvery on Easter Sunday. This was our first visit. I’m sorry to say that the carvery was really not worth £20 per person, and we were all very disappointed. Whilst there were 3 choices of meat, there was scraps of turkey and when we asked if there was any more since all of us wanted it, we were told that was the last. This was at 3pm and there was only one other party dining at the time. The meat was dry, the potato’s were barely cooked, bland and unseasoned. The cauliflower cheese was so salty, the gravy was like water and the selection of trimmings was very limited. Whilst the staff were friendly and welcoming, I’m afraid we wouldn’t return. Had the whole menu been running, perhaps we would have been more honest with staff when they asked how the meal was. But unfortunately, we felt awkward as the place was so quiet and we were half way through the meal already. Just cannot justify the price for what we got, quality and quantity not great.

One of the most awfull meals Ive ever had. The good had no flavour whatever. The owner is incredible rude. The only thing good about this pub was the beer.

Had my graduation party here on Saturday March 29th Highly recomended for party hire. Private Area lovely, child frendly Staff amazing, food great. Will defo 100% be booking again as soon as i can think of an excuse to have another party x

We just stopped off for a carvery, we paid for four adult carverys and one child, there wasn't any vegetarian options so settled for just the veg, which we are okay paying for, but found only dried up potatoes, carrots, peas, Yorkshire pudding and cold gravy. We paid almost £100 for this. The two adult meat eaters in our party said that the meat was dry, we gave it to the dog! We mentioned our concerns to a member of staff and was told she would pass on our complaints. The chicken nuggets and chips were good though. In response. Thank you for replying, I understand you'd had a busy day, but that's not really an excuse. Yes, we were 30 minutes late, I apologise for that, the website does state that food is served until 10.30 . We wasn't offered a discount, we paid £98 for 4 adult roasts, 1 child's roast and I child's chicken nuggets. Seriously, the carvery was substandard, even your staff seemed embarrassed when we asked where the food was. Luckily, we were in good spirits as we'd had a good day out walking, so although we left hungry, the pooch was well fed 😋

I was here at the Caterham Arms about two months ago and the food was amazing but when we went to a do last Saturday the food was very disappointing we won’t be going again

I am over the moon with the staff here, having a particular requirement when it comes to food I was shy about asking for something off menu, having spoke to the bar staff and explaining my predicament they spoke to the chef who was more than happy to accommodate my request and produced a plate of food that was outstanding. It is very rare that I can find a place that is willing to go off menu and si I don't go out much, but this has made my day and I will definately be coming back here again.

Amazing fish and chips! so fresh and delicious! Pub staff were excellent and so welcoming! Will definitely be back! Chef was lovely and delivered us an extra desert, which was exceptional

Firstly we were sat, not given any menus. We had no idea how much the carvery was but assumed (stupidly) that it wasn’t going to be that much, due to the new staff and basic set up. Food was very average, no better than Toby carvery, no seasoning on the veg options, brown peas mixed with fresh ones, watery cauli, burnt Yorkies and watery gravy in a jug on the side. Partner said the meat was ok. Overall it was terrible. Our waiter read the desserts from a scrap of paper. We had 2 carvery, 1 drink each and shared a pudding and it came to over £60. I nearly fell off my seat. I understand it’s recently been taken over by new management and chef, this is why we went as we’d heard good things, but the carvery was shocking. I am also veggie and there were no veggie option, so I just had the poor veg selection and my partner took my meat as extra for himself. In addition, the staff are under trained and the atmosphere was non existent. I also saw staff cutting bits of meat from the carvery and eating it behind the bar, that was when they wasn’t crowded round the till point chatting. I wouldn’t mind one of the elements being off, what with the new changes, but there was nothing good about the visit and the business should reflect the teething process in their pricing. For £20, I expect much more, if I’d known I would have rather paid a few more quid and had a proper a la carte roast dinner somewhere better.

Hired the function room for my 60th. Absolutely fantastic evening. The staff were friendly and good at their job. The food was fabulous. All of my 60+ guests kept remarking how good the food was. I was so impressed by not only the amount and quality of the food but the presentation looked so inviting and professional way beyond my expectations of my local pub. Nothing was too much trouble which made my party go without a hitch. We all had a great time and came away with goody bags full of tasty food. Thank you Caterham Arms and Paul the chef for making my 60th birthday party so enjoyable .

I can’t praise this Pub/ restaurant enough. From their amazing food, (Sunday roast is a favourite of ours) to their fantastic bar area which has a great atmosphere. I have also had my wife’s 40th birthday here and everything was on point, the staff cannot do enough for you. 10/10

We had a 60th birthday held here this week and have to say the venue was superb. The food was delicious, the chef was continually out in the servers area making sure everything was ok. The owner was very attentive and again was our side of the bar checking we were ok and everything was running smoothly. Thanks for a great time!

We had a milestone birthday party this Saturday. The care, presentation, quality and taste of the food exceeded all my expectations. No wonder as the man in charge of the food is Mr. Paul O'Brien, an excellent award winning chef. What a gem! I can't wait to return to the restaurant for dinner or carvery! The bar staff were so accommodating and helpful too. Always on the ball with things. We had use of the room all day. Layout of the restaurant was arranged to our requirements, it allowed us to decorate exactly as we wanted! An area was set up for live music too. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the way our party was handled. They just took care of everything. So stress free which was a relief and we could concentrate on just having such a good time! 👍🏻 Highly recommended. Our guests have been texting us all day to say how wonderful everything was. Thanks to you all. Fabulous team work.

I haven't ordered food as we had the Christmas party there and we had a buffet, but I can recommend the chicken. The staff was very friendly and they provided amazing service.

Came here with my family. Was a lovely environment and friendly, the food was lush and delicious. Staff was helpful to, has son is in wheelchair staff accommodate for him every sweet head Chef Paul was very kind and helpful with my fussy little ones palette 🫣

It was my first time dining at The Caterham Arms, and I had a delightful experience. I went for lunch with a friend, and the food was absolutely delicious. I even had the pleasure of meeting the chef, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming, as well as the manager. I highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be returning in the future.

Big shout out to George and his team at the Caterham Arms. We had a 40th birthday party at the Caterham Arms last week and what a great night we had. George went out of his way to accommodate us, Paul cooked the best party food we've ever had and the bar staff were fantastic. Thank you all. We would highly recommend having a function here.

Absolutely amazing food with then friendliest service. Stopped over in Caterham on a Monday night and stopped for a drink, to start with. Beer was great and ended out stopping for dinner. The food was top quality restaurant food at pub prices. Really wish we’d taken some photos just for the review. Such a great experience.

Popped in to try lunch with a friend, first of all the menu is lovely. We wanted to try everything including the lobster mac and cheese. We went for the cheeseburger and fish burger. Delicious!! kudos on those buns chef!! Then had the Eton mess. seriously yummy with the berries and white chocolate perfectly balanced. I have to go back now to try the rest of the menu!

We discovered this pub in summer & been going there every month ever since. Has a good selection of food & drinks plus service is fantastic. Large garden. Big TV screens. Tried many dishes since, all delicious & well presented. The fish & chips is awesome, very tasty & crispy. Top west end standards. Chef Paul is passionate and it shows. Our favourite place to eat Caterham!

Incredible food, exceptional service and great atmosphere. Food is very tasty all round. From the starter, main and delicious desserts. It's a must try if you're around Caterham. Very spacious as well and family friendly. Highly recommend!

What a great time we had. Paul the chef produced a wonderful sharing platter for starter, mouth watering steak for main and lemon posset with homemade clotted cream ice cream with a ginger crumb. Fabulous food with friends. Staff were lovely and friendly and we were given 5* treatment by the Cork chef! Delicious starter and main course, with a sublime dessert of lemon posset with seasonal berries and ginger biscuit crumb and home made clotted cream ice cream. Absolutely fabulous. We celebrated our niece's birthday at The Caterham Arms and it is a great place to hold a small to medium size party. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is ample parking. Special thanks to Gerry for being so accommodating with our family stop-over.

Visited for the 1st time today with my daughter for lunch. Absolutely outstanding food from chef, very pleasant atmosphere and friendly landlord. Give this place a go you won't regret it.

Other aspects aside, the chef makes The best cheeseburger in the area and it's been so for a while. Well worth a visit just for that !

Was here today to celebrate a christening! We had a BBQ that was organised by family instead of the buffet option. It was lovely. All your usual BBQ meats and a selection of salads. Food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bouncy castle for the kids in the garden is a great idea as the kids didn't get off of it. Outside seating area was lovely and clean and great having it covered as we did have a bit of rain.

We are from Germany, we were there for dinner 3 times, very friendly staff, the dinner was great. Atmosphere is warmhearted. Really good food, a super nice chef, nice staff, perfect for children

I work in a care home in caterham the people I look after have learning disabilities and some have dysphagia which means they have to have their food blended to a certain consistency It is very difficult to find anywhere that will accommodate this As soon as we arrived the chef came over and asked how we needed the food done he even knew what level it was I was so impressed also the presentation was amazing All the staff where very friendly and engaged with the two people I took there it was one of my people's birthday and they made his day I left feeling so happy I had found somewhere that was accepting of the people I look after I have been to several pubs in caterham and they have refused to make any food Overall an amazing experience

We have just left the caterham arms having had the most amazing burger. The service from the staff was top class and the chef...what a diamond. This is the third time I’ve eaten here recently and each time the food has been outstanding. Loved the curry night with friends , Brought the kids a few weeks back and today with my husband. Chef is really amenable to helping or dietary requests as well. X

I was able to be given the restaurant for my baby shower and it did not disappoint! Gerry and his team were so attentive. They helped myself and my family set up, they got everything we requested, they were so friendly and kind to guests and also put the bouncy castle up for the children. The food and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend having your events here in the future. I definitely will be 😀

This was a last minute decision as we were passing the pub at lunchtime and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and the steak melted in your mouth. It was also well presented and the staff were lovely.

1st time I tried this local pub for work lunch with three people today. It's far exceeded my expectations. Staff were friendly. Good Menu selection. Food was well presented & taste as good as it looks. Whole Cherry tomatoes on vine was used. The dessert is also homemade, & delicious! Welcome to the chef Its like being in a high standard West End restaurant . Try to load photos but its didn't work from my mobile. Will definitely be back.

We chose The Caterham Arms for the wake after our mum's funeral this week and are extremely happy with our choice The food was quite simply incredible & very reasonably priced The staff could not have been more helpful & were genuinely interested in making sure the evening went well for us At the end of the night I could not thank them enough and I know many of us are hoping to go back there for dinner very soon I cannot recommend them highly enough And, to Brian, Paul & the others, if you see this, thanks very much again! 👍

Stopped in here for a late lunch. It was pretty empty, but the pub is really well laid out with a lovely garden and plenty of seating options. We ordered their cheeseburger meal. I can honestly say that the wait whilst the chef cooked everything from scratch, was well worth it. The burger was so so tasty and the chips nice and fresh, fluffy in inside and nice and crispy on outside...GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY TOO! As it that wasn't enough on it's own, we were served a complimentary Mango Smoothie with a BlackBerry and strawberry on the side. This Smoothie was so smooth, creamy and tasty......it was an excellent chance find and we will certainly be back. Thank you for an awesome meal chef!!

What a Pub and amazing Chef. It's been a while since I thoroughly enjoyed a pub meal. Being a veggie choices can be slim however this is my second time here and I've had 2 outstanding meals. The chef Paul is on another level of service. He literally comes and speaks to me to inquire about my tastes and knocks up an amazing meal. The carvery on a Sunday is great on its own however Paul knocked up an extra special dish. Today I had a falafel burger with feta cheese and chips. My wife had fish and chips which she enjoyed. Paul is an asset to this pub and I highly recommend this place. All staff are attentive and the pub itself is big with plenty of outside space. Can't fault it.

Large party of 22 - mixture of adults and children. Food was amazing, children portions were massive and brilliant value. Burger was best burger I’ve tasted locally and beautiful. Visited on Tuesday. Spoke to chef the day before to confirm they did curry. Very good curry followed by excellent lemon posset. Very friendly staff and chef went out of his way to keep us happy. Menu looks good. Will definitely visit again.

I don't usually write reviews, but our visit to The Caterham Arms a month ago or so ago was great. A group of five of us dined here midweek and we were all really impressed with the food. The menu is fantastic, offering a wide range of options beyond the usual pub fare. As someone with coeliac disease, finding good gluten-free options can be challenging, but this place had plenty to choose from. The chef even came out to speak with me personally, which was incredibly reassuring. He even suggested additional dishes he could adapt to make them gluten-free dishes. The food itself was outstanding—beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. I have nothing but praise. We'll definitely be returning soon. Even just for the lemon posset! It was a bit dead when we went in there (midweek lunchtime), so not much atmosphere. That can be changed once people know how good the food is ;) Thanks

I brought my son and his friend for a lunch, the staff made the children feel special and the kids menu was delicious: ) I am vegan and the chef went out of his way to made me the most amazing vegan salad and pudding. Highly recommended!

Had an 85th party. Approx 80 guests. The staff could not do enough for us, so polite and helpful. We had a buffet which was amazing and plenty. My guests all commented on how nice it all tasted. The service was fantastic. Would highly recommend for all your party celebrations, big or small.

Brilliant! On arrival clean and beautiful pub and lush garden , staff Shannon and co had loads of lunch options enjoyed a chicken and chips such a wonderful crew chef paul introduced us to the prawn cocktail and this was so plump and fresh had me wanting to lick the glass! To finish we had lemon possset with cherry compote I am sold on this place and I'll be telling everyone to make a effort to stop by and enjoy it as much as I did. well done caterham arms 😁🥳💕

Travelled up from Somerset to see some family and popped in for some lunch. We ordered a carvery and some burgers. We were told at the time of placing the orders that the burgers would take a little longer. Admittedly, it was a while, but you cannot fault the food we were served and the way the situation was handled. Fantastic! The carvery was really delicious, and the burgers were fantastic also. Credit to them. So please, if you're in the area, seriously think about going here. You won't be disappointed. ☺️☺️☺️

The cottage pie croquettes were absolutely amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover such delicious sauce in a Surrey pub.

Had a Sunday lunch here today. The carvery was well cooked with a good variety and the vegetable paella was absolutely delicious. The Service was helpful and friendly and it was reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Attended a family 90th birthday celebration at the restaurant at the Caterham Arms on Easter Monday. There was a large party of attendees and the food was delicious. The chef was wonderful in putting a menu together for the guests to chose from in advance and the quality of the food was very good. I look forward to going back to sample the new menu.

Had a family get together. Must say staff were very attentive and welcoming. Food was excellent despite it being a very large group. Chef and his team were flexible and spot on with everything.

We had been let down by original booking ( kitchen closed due to staff shortages) so trying to find a suitable place to eat bang in the middle of Sunday lunchtime was going to be tricky, to the rescue The Caterham Arms , was meet by a member of staff on the decking area and was told they could fit us in ,if we didn't mind waiting at the bar whilst they cleaned a table, time we walked through to the bar was lead straight to our table where we were greeted by our server , who took our drinks order and pointed the way to the food Can't fault a thing , chef was happy and gave good servings,the different servers, polite ,who checked everything was ok, clean tables and reasonably priced too for what we had , happy to visit again

We came in over the weekend with the children and I must say the service was absolutely incredible. We ordered meals for the children and the chef was very accommodating to our needs. Us adults aswell as the children ate all of our food and once finishing the chef came out personally to ask if the children would like a dessert of their choice. Both men behind the bar were absolutely amazing with the service. Would definitely recommend and we will be eating here a lot more from now on ☺️

The pub was virtually empty but the Doom bar was in good condition and the lady running the bar very welcoming. Lots of screens and clearly a popular pub in normal hours.
