Private buffet lunch for a group. Food wonderful, nicely laid out, friendly but respectful staff. I'll be back to try their Sunday roast!

Popped in to try lunch with a friend, first of all the menu is lovely. We wanted to try everything including the lobster mac and cheese. We went for the cheeseburger and fish burger. Delicious!! kudos on those buns chef!! Then had the Eton mess. seriously yummy with the berries and white chocolate perfectly balanced. I have to go back now to try the rest of the menu!

Incredible food, exceptional service and great atmosphere. Food is very tasty all round. From the starter, main and delicious desserts. It's a must try if you're around Caterham. Very spacious as well and family friendly. Highly recommend!

We discovered this pub in summer & been going there every month ever since. Has a good selection of food & drinks plus service is fantastic. Large garden. Big TV screens. Tried many dishes since, all delicious & well presented. The fish & chips is awesome, very tasty & crispy. Top west end standards. Chef Paul is passionate and it shows. Our favourite place to eat Caterham!

What a great time we had. Paul the chef produced a wonderful sharing platter for starter, mouth watering steak for main and lemon posset with homemade clotted cream ice cream with a ginger crumb. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Warm and friendly staff. Definitely recommend and will be going back again soon.

Visited tonight for the first time and was greeted by Paul the chef, who showed us to our table promptly. Very friendly service and food was excellent. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend to anyone.

Fabulous food with friends. Staff were lovely and friendly and we were given 5* treatment by the Cork chef! Delicious starter and main course, with a sublime dessert of lemon posset with seasonal berries and ginger biscuit crumb and home made clotted cream ice cream. Absolutely fabulous. Will be back with the family soon for the carvery. Thank you

We celebrated our niece's birthday at The Caterham Arms and it is a great place to hold a small to medium size party. The staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks are reasonably priced and there is ample parking. Special thanks to Gerry for being so accommodating with our family stop-over.

Visited for the 1st time today with my daughter for lunch. Absolutely outstanding food from chef, very pleasant atmosphere and friendly landlord. Give this place a go you won't regret it.

Other aspects aside, the chef makes The best cheeseburger in the area and it's been so for a while. Well worth a visit just for that !

Was here today to celebrate a christening! We had a BBQ that was organised by family instead of the buffet option. It was lovely. All your usual BBQ meats and a selection of salads. Food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The bouncy castle for the kids in the garden is a great idea as the kids didn't get off of it. Outside seating area was lovely and clean and great having it covered as we did have a bit of rain.

We are from Germany, we were there for dinner 3 times, very friendly staff, the dinner was great. Atmosphere is warmhearted. Really good food, a super nice chef, nice staff, perfect for children

I work in a care home in caterham the people I look after have learning disabilities and some have dysphagia which means they have to have their food blended to a certain consistency It is very difficult to find anywhere that will accommodate this As soon as we arrived the chef came over and asked how we needed the food done he even knew what level it was I was so impressed also the presentation was amazing All the staff where very friendly and engaged with the two people I took there it was one of my people's birthday and they made his day I left feeling so happy I had found somewhere that was accepting of the people I look after I have been to several pubs in caterham and they have refused to make any food Overall an amazing experience

We have just left the caterham arms having had the most amazing burger. The service from the staff was top class and the chef...what a diamond. This is the third time I’ve eaten here recently and each time the food has been outstanding. Loved the curry night with friends , Brought the kids a few weeks back and today with my husband. Chef is really amenable to helping or dietary requests as well. X

I was able to be given the restaurant for my baby shower and it did not disappoint! Gerry and his team were so attentive. They helped myself and my family set up, they got everything we requested, they were so friendly and kind to guests and also put the bouncy castle up for the children. The food and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend having your events here in the future. I definitely will be 😀

This was a last minute decision as we were passing the pub at lunchtime and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and the steak melted in your mouth. It was also well presented and the staff were lovely.

1st time I tried this local pub for work lunch with three people today. It's far exceeded my expectations. Staff were friendly. Good Menu selection. Food was well presented & taste as good as it looks. Whole Cherry tomatoes on vine was used. The dessert is also homemade, & delicious! Welcome to the chef Its like being in a high standard West End restaurant . Try to load photos but its didn't work from my mobile. Will definitely be back.

We chose The Caterham Arms for the wake after our mum's funeral this week and are extremely happy with our choice The food was quite simply incredible & very reasonably priced The staff could not have been more helpful & were genuinely interested in making sure the evening went well for us At the end of the night I could not thank them enough and I know many of us are hoping to go back there for dinner very soon I cannot recommend them highly enough And, to Brian, Paul & the others, if you see this, thanks very much again! 👍

Stopped in here for a late lunch. It was pretty empty, but the pub is really well laid out with a lovely garden and plenty of seating options. We ordered their cheeseburger meal. I can honestly say that the wait whilst the chef cooked everything from scratch, was well worth it. The burger was so so tasty and the chips nice and fresh, fluffy in inside and nice and crispy on outside...GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY TOO! As it that wasn't enough on it's own, we were served a complimentary Mango Smoothie with a BlackBerry and strawberry on the side. This Smoothie was so smooth, creamy and tasty......it was an excellent chance find and we will certainly be back. Thank you for an awesome meal chef!!

My name is Steve Mountford and on Monday we held my wife's wake there the owners were fantastic guys the staff were fantastic to and chef Paul was amazing he covered 2 wakes at the same time given great food plus he covered people' with eating difficulties and even more than all that he covered small children's special foods as well I can not thank the Caterham Arms enough for what was a very difficult day for me and thanks to the owners staff and the chef Paul I just wish to say thank you and I will definitely be back soon god bless

What a Pub and amazing Chef. It's been a while since I thoroughly enjoyed a pub meal. Being a veggie choices can be slim however this is my second time here and I've had 2 outstanding meals. The chef Paul is on another level of service. He literally comes and speaks to me to inquire about my tastes and knocks up an amazing meal. The carvery on a Sunday is great on its own however Paul knocked up an extra special dish. Today I had a falafel burger with feta cheese and chips. My wife had fish and chips which she enjoyed. Paul is an asset to this pub and I highly recommend this place. All staff are attentive and the pub itself is big with plenty of outside space. Can't fault it.

We have been to the Caterham Arms twice in the last month. The chef is great! Super attentive, produces great tasting food, lovely little touches in terms of presentation. Very impressed

Large party of 22 - mixture of adults and children. Food was amazing, children portions were massive and brilliant value. Burger was best burger I’ve tasted locally and beautiful. Server was very friendly and very attentive. Brilliant place for families with a bouncy castle in the garden. Will definitely be our new place to go for food and celebrations. Thank you!

Visited on Tuesday. Spoke to chef the day before to confirm they did curry. Very good curry followed by excellent lemon posset. Very friendly staff and chef went out of his way to keep us happy. Menu looks good. Will definitely visit again.

I don't usually write reviews, but our visit to The Caterham Arms a month ago or so ago was great. A group of five of us dined here midweek and we were all really impressed with the food. The menu is fantastic, offering a wide range of options beyond the usual pub fare. As someone with coeliac disease, finding good gluten-free options can be challenging, but this place had plenty to choose from. The chef even came out to speak with me personally, which was incredibly reassuring. He even suggested additional dishes he could adapt to make them gluten-free dishes. The food itself was outstanding—beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. I have nothing but praise. We'll definitely be returning soon. Even just for the lemon posset! It was a bit dead when we went in there (midweek lunchtime), so not much atmosphere. That can be changed once people know how good the food is ;) Thanks

I brought my son and his friend for a lunch, the staff made the children feel special and the kids menu was delicious: ) I am vegan and the chef went out of his way to made me the most amazing vegan salad and pudding. Highly recommended!

Had an 85th party. Approx 80 guests. The staff could not do enough for us, so polite and helpful. We had a buffet which was amazing and plenty. My guests all commented on how nice it all tasted. The service was fantastic. Would highly recommend for all your party celebrations, big or small.

Brilliant! On arrival clean and beautiful pub and lush garden , staff Shannon and co had loads of lunch options enjoyed a chicken and chips such a wonderful crew chef paul introduced us to the prawn cocktail and this was so plump and fresh had me wanting to lick the glass! To finish we had lemon possset with cherry compote I am sold on this place and I'll be telling everyone to make a effort to stop by and enjoy it as much as I did. well done caterham arms 😁🥳💕

Absolutely love this place a real traditional English pub That provide outstanding food , including the best roast dinner on Sundays just like you mum would make . Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff that are always happy to help. Family friendly ❤️

Travelled up from Somerset to see some family and popped in for some lunch. We ordered a carvery and some burgers. We were told at the time of placing the orders that the burgers would take a little longer. Admittedly, it was a while, but you cannot fault the food we were served and the way the situation was handled. Fantastic! The carvery was really delicious, and the burgers were fantastic also. Credit to them. So please, if you're in the area, seriously think about going here. You won't be disappointed. ☺️☺️☺️

The cottage pie croquettes were absolutely amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover such delicious sauce in a Surrey pub.

Had a Sunday lunch here today. The carvery was well cooked with a good variety and the vegetable paella was absolutely delicious. The Service was helpful and friendly and it was reasonably priced. Would recommend.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The chef was absolutely brilliant. Made sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious. The chef went out of his way and even had desert on the house. Will definitely be one of my favourite places.

Attended a family 90th birthday celebration at the restaurant at the Caterham Arms on Easter Monday. There was a large party of attendees and the food was delicious. The chef was wonderful in putting a menu together for the guests to chose from in advance and the quality of the food was very good. I look forward to going back to sample the new menu.

Had a family get together. Must say staff were very attentive and welcoming. Food was excellent despite it being a very large group. Chef and his team were flexible and spot on with everything.

We had been let down by original booking ( kitchen closed due to staff shortages) so trying to find a suitable place to eat bang in the middle of Sunday lunchtime was going to be tricky, to the rescue The Caterham Arms , was meet by a member of staff on the decking area and was told they could fit us in ,if we didn't mind waiting at the bar whilst they cleaned a table, time we walked through to the bar was lead straight to our table where we were greeted by our server , who took our drinks order and pointed the way to the food Can't fault a thing , chef was happy and gave good servings,the different servers, polite ,who checked everything was ok, clean tables and reasonably priced too for what we had , happy to visit again

We came in over the weekend with the children and I must say the service was absolutely incredible. We ordered meals for the children and the chef was very accommodating to our needs. Us adults aswell as the children ate all of our food and once finishing the chef came out personally to ask if the children would like a dessert of their choice. Both men behind the bar were absolutely amazing with the service. Would definitely recommend and we will be eating here a lot more from now on ☺️

The pub was virtually empty but the Doom bar was in good condition and the lady running the bar very welcoming. Lots of screens and clearly a popular pub in normal hours.

This was a big family celebration that had been booked for months. WHAT A SHAMBLES! No menus no cutlery and even worse no food! We ordered on the app to be told it wasn’t working and had to re order. That meant paying twice. Literally more then half the menu was unavailable. They knew we were coming yet they weren’t prepared. Beware. It sounds lovely.. bouncy castle, sports tv etc it was sheer chaos.

A lovely carvery at a reasonable rate. Cold beer , effective quick table cleaning, the sport on TV visible everywhere. Lamb, pork, chicken, beef all included and well prepared along with the vegetables. Nice dessert to boot. Who can fault this. It was my first visit but definitely not my last. Looking forward to the summer braais.

I had steak and kidney pudding and it was full of gristle, they tried to charge us for drinks we didn't have

I came here with my family on Christmas day and was greeted immediately and was seated down at a table. I was asked for drinks and was given them swiftly. The starter was exemplary, i had the duck which was very nice which was brought in perfect time. the waiter constantly checked on me and my table which was perfect. The waiter was polite and managed the restaurant very well; removing used plates etc. The main was a carvery for Christmas dinner. the potatoes were lovely, crisp, flavourful and the meat was delicious and moist. Vegetables were perfect and the whole meal was perfect. For dessert i had the floating island which was new to me and was nice again. The meal and service was top notch and the young lad waitering was very polite and welcoming from the start, also the bar lady was polite and helpful. i will be returning with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the meal especially on christmas. thankyou for a brilliant meal

Fantastic customer service, we arranged to meet at The Caterham Arms for our Christmas football celebrations. On arrival we was given the private dinning area which was perfect. All staff very friendly. Definitely recommend.

WMelt in the mouth beef, delicious Vegetables, the cauliflower cheese is the best I had for a long time. Couldn't fault it. The chef brought Gluten free gravy when we asked for it. SERVICE IS TOP CLASS. WE EAT HERE ALMOST EVERY WEEK. Lovely pub.

Called in for Sunday carvery. Food mediocre, only two choices of meat as lamb finished, poor selection of vegetables, carrots (overcooked), peas and cabbage. Expensive too for what was on offer.

Nowhere to sit inside and one half shut

We ate at this carvery yesterday 16th October 2022 and had booked in advance asking for gluten free meals. The man who served us had no real idea of what was gluten free and eventually said that the Yorkshire pudding and the macaroni cheese would not be. There was no lamb left so we had beef, but the joint was tough as it was only cooked on the outside but raw in the middle. There were no potatoes left but he insisted on serving us the small remains of them still in the dish with a promise to bring more to our table later. We then asked for gluten free gravy, and he stated that it was in the jug. However, that proved not to be true. By the end of the meal, we both began to feel strange, and got home as soon as possible. Once there, we were very ill, shaky, and just collapsed into bed. For people like us whose lives depend upon eating food that is safe to us, the attitude in this carvery is very poor, so we warn you about eating there!

A beautiful pub serving delicious food! I went with the family for a BBQ and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, nothing seemed too much for them. The pub has a reasonably sized car park and the property is tastefully decorated and is well maintained.

Went for the carvery on a Sunday. Was horrible. None of us liked the food. Pudding was yuck. Did complain but made no difference. Not cheap in there either. Sorry, won't be going back.

After being let down short notice by another venue we held our sons first birthday party here. We hired the covered decking area and it was absolutely perfect. Gerry and the team let us decorate and move tables around as we pleased. We pre ordered pizzas and added a few more on last minute - they were so good and went down very well with our adults and children guests. We would definitely recommend The Caterham Arms for a party venue. The only (very small) negative comment we could make is that the garden at the rear was a little messy, being a bank holiday Monday we assumed a busy Sunday evening had been had! This didn’t take away from the brilliant time we had!
