Wonderful pub in Oxted. Smiley staff, beautiful location and child friendly. I had fish and chips and it was such a delicious batter. I took a picture after I started as it looked mouth watering.

This historic venue in the country with great pasture views boasts hosting one of the former monarchs. I can understand why he paid a visit...the service is fit for royalty and the food didn't disappoint either.

Sat in the garden which was lovely. Staff very helpful family member on crutches so set up a table for us especially. Food was delicious and the staff amazing. This is one of our favourite places as you can always rely on excellent food and service.

We visit the Grumpy Mole on a regular basis and one of the great things about it is the consistency- of food, of service- so you know you are always going to get value for money. Today we tried the Filet steak on the stone, a lovely treat. The steak keeps cooking so that you can get it to exactly your preference. It's a beautiful setting too, and today we sat outside looking across the fields in the sunshine: glorious!

Always guaranteed good food and very friendly welcome from the manager Jack. Great choice, stunning beer garden. Book a Sunday lunch, you'll never go anywhere else.

Nice food and pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. Couple of menu items not available but not a problem really as lots of other choices. Another nice meal with good portions.

What a wonderful pub with fantastic food for an impromptu lunch stop. We had a Caeser Salad and the Cajun Wrap, which were both wonderful. Service was excellent and we shall certainly return for the main menu. Would certainly recommend a visit.

It was a sunny day so we had pre dinner drinks outside followed by a delicious meal inside. It wasn't too busy on a Thursday. We had to book, but no-one booked later so we stayed at our table all evening. I love this place and we're going to the Tamworth 'Mole' next week!

Stumbled upon this place by accident really. Large car parks (2) and an interesting menu. This was an afternoon treat in the outside garden, surrounded by fields. The service was good and the ice cream was fabulous. Recommended for a more extensive visit! Inside, lots of covers in "niche corners" rather than one large restaurant.

Arrived at 2.57pm to be told the kitchen closed at 3pm. Others still able to order as arrived earlier. Garden has lovely views but smells like a toilet.

Over cooked chewy food chips so cooked could not eat them fish watery and batter over cooked full of oil and beef chewy tagliatelle stuck together

Fabulous pub. Went for Sunday lunch. Did book as it was a nice day and know it gets busy. Fab service. Delicious food. Looking forward to my next visit.

Trying to book a table is virtually impossible. The phone message is complete rubbish. When you try and book on-line, it says you have to read the terms and conditions but you still can’t book a table. You just lost a customer!!!

Just come home from a birthday dinner at The Grumpy Mole. Absolutely loved the decor inside and the views from the back terrace are beautiful. Service and food, both very good. Will definitely be back

Brilliant lunch snack menu. The brie, bacon and chutney toasted panini which I had was superb which was accompanied with a lovely outlook.

Lunch here was fantastic, the food was delicious and expertly presented. It's a lovely setting and the interior is also really nice. Based on what our table ordered, the lamb, pie and sea bass were favourites. A special nod to the gooey meringue!

It was a little early so we were the only couple eating, hence the 3 star for atmosphere. Its a lovely venue for eating and reasonable food.

We went to the Grumpy Mole as it was located on out walk. The pub is a bit dates and the way the tables are arranged is not the best, but otherwise it's a good pub. The food was quite tasty, good vegan and gluten free options. Overall, it was ok but I wasn't impressed.

This was our first time at this pub/restaurant. We will certainly go again. The staff were very friendly and the food was great.Good location and great outside view of countryside. Parking was easy and plentifull.

I had an amazing experience at this award-winning gastropub in the UK. The setting is incredible, nestled in nature, which enhances the delightful atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We sampled the Moules Marinières, Roasted French-Trimmed Supreme of Chicken, and Classic Beef Stroganoff, all of which were outstanding. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-quality food and a welcoming environment!

Everything was great. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Asked for three lamb roast dinners and the lamb came out looking like bacon it was very thin and wasn't very warm not one to leave a review but wasn't impressed at all.

Stopped in this lovely place for a pint. Enjoyed their Surrey Hills Cask Ale. Garden presented nicely and had spectacular views. Beer was tasty and staff friendly. Would definitely visit again. Gentle suggestion, if you can sort the smell from the drain in the corner of the garden would make the experience even better. (Doesn't notice if there's no wind)

Delicious food Great atmosphere

Never had a bad experience at the Grumpy Mole. It has become family tradition to eat here when all together. We have had summer meals here, Christmas meals, everything! Ceaser salad is insane. I have tried hundreds of ceaser salads across the world and nothing has come close to the grumpy moles one. With bacon, jammy egg and avocado added to it, nothing compares. I compare every ceaser salad i eat with this one but nothing comes even close.

Atmosphere and location were excellent. Food was tasty and as a gluten free they had a wide range of food and this was the first place i have been in where they have a seperate fryer for gluten free.. will definitely visit again

We stopped here unexpectedly. From the get go the staff were lovely and welcoming, very polite and friendly. The food was delicious (date and hinger cske is an absolute MUST). Views were beautiful out into the countryside. Was a lovely lunch and reasonably priced.

I came here after hearing only postive vibes from my mum whoem vists once a week. I had the homemade pie. All i can say is wow wow wow !!! Without doubt the best pie i have ever tasted it was huge as well. Service was very polite and quick and was so relaxed by the fire on a cold spring evening. We will definitely be back

We booked a table for 8 people. The table was in a corner of the restaurant with no room to get to your seat. The service was very poor. On one occasion, we went to the bar ourselves, and on another, all eight of us had to waive to get someone's attention.

We enjoyed our evening celebrating a birthday. Our waitress was new and not quite up to speed yet. Food exceptional.

My first visit to this recommended pub. Nice setting, nice menu, a bit on the high side price wise. The food looks great but I can't tell as I came for a drink, I haven't eaten there yet. I'll add more reviews as I'll probably come back in the near future.

Great place for us because they have a really good snack menu for lunch time. However, the main menu is excellent. The service is great and the place has a buzz. Excellent place

Attentive service. Ambience was spot on. We went on a Sunday 3pm, so was busy. Booked in advanced. Portions were huge and roast very nice. Only grumble is the coffee machine wasn't working so had to have instant coffee at £8 a cup, I thought it was over the top.

Booked for lunch and found the two staff members serving us on the abrupt side. Menu was fairly expensive for what it is - £9-£10 for a starter or dessert.

Great spot for lunch with both a full menu and lunchtime snack menu, loads of options!! Dog friendly in the bar (though we only just squeezed in so maybe book ahead) loads of parking too.

Really nice pub overall, friendly and very welcoming. We just finished ourSunday Lunch, and it was fantastic. We had a few starters too, all were good. Stand out was the Calamari for sure. Group for 10 adults and 10 kids under 5, and they were also well looked after, kids portion sizes were huge, and it was nice that all the food was not just deep fried from a bag. Showed that the kids meals were as equally as important to them as the adults. Will definitely be returning and recommending.

Our first visit. Delicious food. Smoked salmon to start followed by steak and kidney pudding beetroot wellington also a good choice. We shall be returning.

What a lovely pub with really, really, I gotta say it again, REALLY good food!!! Check out the menu before you go and you’ll be happily surprised as there some old favourites on the menu. Loved it! We will be back ♥️

my husband and I have been at this restaurant twice and the food has been amazing both times! very well cooked, genuine and tasty ingredients and with an attentive staff. We are local and have tried many of the local gastro pubs but the Grumpy Ole stands head and shoulders over all the others. We will be back for sure!

Classic British pub but some special and less standard options on the menu. Great vegan options and lovely roast! Cosy in winter, gorgeous views in summer.

A very bland Sunday roast! Lovely pub although we were sat right at the back in The Dining Room which was by the back door so chilly and smelly (next to the toilets). We ordered a beef and a lamb roast. Very disappointing for the price. Nicely presented but the beef was overcooked, potatoes dry and not crispy, veg completely unseasoned and I got one measley floret of cauliflower cheese. Most of this might have been saved by a decent gravy but it was watery and tasteless. I have eaten at a Grumpy Mole before and had some great food so this was unexpected and a real shame.

Nice panino and sweet potato fries. Decent ale too. Friendly staff and happy to accept walk ins.

We had afternoon tea and can thoroughly recommend it. Warm freshly made scones,varied finger sandwiches and cakes plus prosecco. Will definitely come again!

Lovely food (my 10yr old son started eating the "delicious" ice cream stuffed pancake before I could take the pic 😆), excellent portion of Sunday roast with good selection of well cooked veg. Nice sized kids portion, he still had room for garlic bread and an adult sized pud!! 13yr old enjoyed cooking his own steak to his liking (meal adjusted for his dairy allergy no problem) and he loved the dairy free chocolate cake dessert, good sized portion too. My creme brulée was also excellent. Good value, good service, good atmosphere. Will happily return, thank you!!

We had a fantastic family meal ( there were 14 of us) in the alcove which is perfect for large groups. Everyone loved their meals, ranging from Fish Pie, Sri Lankan curry, burger, Roast Beef, steak and ale pie and fish and chips. The service, food and atmosphere were brilliant and thanks to the whole Grumpy Mole team!

We went to the Grumpy Mole for my father-in-laws 80th birthday. Food was great and excellent service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to return.

We did not stay to eat as only outside tables available, however on looking at the menu there was a over powering sewage smell Advise don’t eat in garden. I’m sure the food would have been nice however, but not with that smell in the air

Lovely country pub but we were sat in the garden (with a lovely view) but the occasional whiff of sewage ☹️. We could have moved but we’d already given the table number and weren’t advised of the problem. Food was ok - I had the fish pie and I asked whether it contained spinach. I was advised it didn’t but that turned out to be wrong. It also had capers in.

Pub was too warm inside, could have done with air conditioning or windows being open. Not enough parking outside for the amount of customers attending for Sunday lunch. On the positive side, staff very friendly and food very good.

Very nice venue for a treat or special do. Could have more GF options, or even GF specific menu (as the place in Birmingham were going to try this week has). Have the lovely pies shrunk?

For £19, you'd expect a roast lunch to be pretty good. But the beef and lamb were both over-cooked and leathery. It's a nice enough place, but don't understand why places feel they can charge this much for something below par.

Excellent food lovely staff had a lovely young lady serving us . Thought the table setting was poor no table cloth just a horrid plastic looking table 🤔 which let the quality of the afternoon tea down .
