Booked a room for a birthday party today but got there and no booking on their records therefore no food to feed guests as a Sunday. This is the 2nd time that we have had an issue here. If you are going to book for an event here then you need to double check then check again. Fortunately we found another pub that could accommodate us all for dinner and hold my grandson’s birthday party.

I've visited the pub a few times now, the bar staff are always friendly, we always feel welcome and they are great with our little boy. There is a good selection of core and local beers and the food is fantastic (Try the roast on a Sunday) very good food for a very reasonable price, well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Sat outside in the garden area where there was a great atmosphere. Although pretty full the service was good and the staff were pleasant and friendly . We all enjoyed the light snacks we order which included fries, scotch eggs and steak rolls. A pleasant outing.

We went for a drink here a few years ago and were not that impressed. However it was definitely worth giving it a second chance. We wanted a light lunch after a long walk and we're impressed with the menu. Reasonably priced with a good selection of food We shared a pizza and a large salad and it was really lovely. Thin base and delicious topping. We ate outside but the inside of the pub is cosy but smart. Really friendly staff. There were obviously locals in there but it was welcoming. We will definitely go back - especially to try the Sunday Roasts. It's a shame it's on the outskirts of the village but it is a very good alternative to the pricier Belgium Arms and George on the Green.

Living fairly local, only came here for second time. This time with a group of friends, all local families. Kids enjoyed a great time in the snug area. Food was very good, most of us eating the burgers, hot dogs and pizza's. The prawns are a good starter as well as the nachos to share. Cosy atmosphere, pleasant service, great local to meet up and socialise.

We ordered the Cajun Chicken Salad....they brought us a chicken caesar salad but had forgotten the croutons and the anchovies. We also ordered a lamb burger, it was not cooked at all in the middle, this is fine with a steak because the bacteria is only on the outside...not with a burger!! We sent it back at the risk of becoming seriously ill from it, when we got it back it was still pink on the inside. So not only had we not received what we ordered but it wasn't cooked properly either.

Wonderful staff, very attentive. A good selection of wines which come in decent glasses. The pizza was immense, and the burger was also good but I would ask for it slightly pink next time. Can't wait to go back for Sunday lunch. Lovely atmosphere, so glad we found this ( almost ) new local

Two Sundays ago our youngest granddaughter invited us to eat pizza with her on her birthday at the Jolly Gardener. This smartly-presented pub stands proud and tall on the corner in Moneyrow Green, Holyport, On entering, the first impression is of how high and spacious it is inside. There's also a glowing, real fire and a long, polished bar with stools, where discerning regulars sit over their beer and chat. (I'm told that the beer is always well kept here.) The "shabby chic" furniture matches the pub and the ambiance is warm and welcoming for clients across the age range. Whether you're seeking a 3-course meal, a snack or simply a drink and a chat, you'll find it here. The menu is not large but this inn knows its three-generational clientele so the range caters for everyone from the smallest burger-eater to the most mature lover of proper puddings! There are cosmopolitan dishes as well as traditional English roasts. We began the meal with a spicy Mexican touch - a sharing plate of nachos covered in a cheese sauce with salsa. This was followed, for four of us, by pizzas, which are very special because the Jolly Gardener has its own pizza oven and offers 5 different types which you can vary by adding or subtracting eg chilli flakes, garlic etc. The delicious pizza base is the thinnest and crispest I've ever tasted. We shared a superbly-dressed side salad between the four of us. The pizzas were too large to finish, so they were packed up for us to take away and eaten with great pleasure next day by the senior members of the party! From the other choices on the menu, one of our party had roast beef and Yorkshire pud, and one chose roast pork (+ again Yorkshire pud), with lashings of crispy crackling. The fresh veg served with the roasts looked lovely and al dente. To follow, we even managed scrumptious puddings. The wines - a crisp prosecco and a smooth and warming House red (Merlot) - were excellent and well-priced. Jolly staff served the meal with care, attention to detail and lovely smiles! The birthday cake (provided by the parents - no pub surcharge for serving!) entered, and the 9 candles were promptly blown out. Then, happy and replete, the table was cleared and we stayed there and "en famille" played "The Game of Life", - a blend of Monopoly and Snakes and Ladders computer game for an hour, in which no one hurried us away. The Jolly Gardener is, as its name suggests, jolly and welcoming in atmosphere; offering a thoroughly modern menu at very reasonable prices. Its young management team has built up a strong family clientele, making it a real asset to the village community. Our visit to the Jolly Gardener was really enjoyable and we'll be back. If you're looking for a new place to eat out that combines the best qualities of a traditional pub with the stimulus of a new approach, we do recommend that you try the splendid Jolly Gardener.

Had lunch with a friend at the Jolly Gardener today. It has obviously had a make over and is now a warm welcoming pub with a friendly barman. The choice of food was good and varied and at a reasonable price which is not easy to find in this part of Berkshire.Well worth a visit. Money Row Green is a road off Holyport Green which is on the outskirts of Maidenhead.

I went to The Jolly Gardener for the first time on Sunday for lunch. I ordered the roast pork with crackling, yorkshire pudding, veg, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and gravy. It was cooked to perfection. The meat was tasty, the crackling was perfect and crispy, a lovely homemade Yorkshire and succulent gravy. For £12, I thought it was good value due to the quality. My friend ordered the roast beef which looked tender, juicy and medium rare. The staff could not do enough for you. The clientele all seemed to be locals and friendly. The pub is open plan and has a great atmosphere. I noticed some tables had a big pizza in the centre of the table. They make their own and look good. I can't wait to return one Friday night and share a pizza with friends. This is a must try!

The break I needed. After 2 and a half years of constant upheaval I knew where to come. Originally booking for the Wagyu I espied the specials board and went for the delicious apple and coriander soup, followed by a fantastic Beef Wellington, which I recommended to other diners and they did not need a second invitation. The pastry fell away from a beautiful cut of meat, and this all with super mash and so tasty gravy. Full, I thought, I needed a little time before I could tackle the 5 cheeses board all accompanied by appropriate red wine, LBV port and a liqueur coffee, Superb preparation for my 4 day holiday in Devon - I could not have asked for a better preparation. Thank you!
