Stopped here on Saturday for a spot of lunch during a visit to the castle, nice location but I have to say our Ploughman’s lunch choice was very poor. Everything was out of a tin, the couple of pickles, some gherkin, one slice of packet ham , so thin it was transparent, and tasteless. For over fifteen pounds a person it was very very poor value for money, my advice don’t go for it, avoid , it’s a rip off!!!

A great location outside the Castle. We visited at lunchtime for drinks and sat outside. The order of 2 pints and 2 soft drinks seemed to overly confuse the bar staff which let down the visit. Not sure what happens when it gets busy......

We always enjoy coming to this cosy pub on our visits to Windsor, and today was no exception! We had a nice friendly welcome, and the staff were very helpful with explaining what a ‘substantial’ meal would be to accompany our drinks - in line with government restrictions at the time of writing. We really loved the carrot soup of the day - a real winter warmer on what was a chilly december day.We also really enjoyed our big chunky tuna sandwiches and tasty salads too - all at a very reasonable price from what was a great menu. The atmosphere was cosy and quiet, with a big log fire in the other bar - and we loved all the christmas decs.Well done whoever chose the music too - it was mainly classic rock music, on at a low volume, and really added to the enjoyment of our visit. It’s great when establishments get this small (but important) thing right. We really enjoyed our visit, and it was great to come back this real jewel in Windsor’s crown - literally on the doorstep of the castle - back open. If you’ve never been, come and see for yourself!

Well where do I start. Firstly the pub it’s self is so dark and grungy it can be easily missed. Then once in bartender “Micheal” took his time to greet us with even so much as a smile. Asked him about the beer and the selection is average at best. (Nothing on the corner house or the Charlotte) table was wobbly, almost lost my pint in the earthquake of sitting down. Food was too filling and tasty and the portions where clearly made for bigger men then I and my partner..... if you have gotten this far then you will see that I’m just being sarcastic. This is of course one of the nicest pubs in Windsor with a beautiful setting and well trained polite staff food was great. Beer was great. Micheal is a diamond. All the beat to the place. Stay beautiful ✌

I have known this place over many years, visiting for a drink and occasionally to eat, decided finally to write a review. Crowded when we arrived, so as we were eating, we were directed upstairs to a restaurant area, seating for around 16 people. Great range of local beers, a proper pub atmosphere, good menu, not extensive but OK for a small place. Only let down, seasonal vegetables in my book does not mean tinned carrots. Would have graded good otherwise. Value, in line with it's location, tourist hot spot in the center of town, overlooking the castle.

Oak beams galore and the most perfect location opposite the castle. The staff were really friendly and I had the cod and chips which was about as good as you can get. White fluffy cod with a crisp batter. To top it all it is dog friendly and they had doggie nibbles for my furry friend. Its footprint is small but there are tables upstairs and we found one next to the window overlooking the castle. It was a great place to begin our holiday. We ordered our food and beer at the bar downstairs. The service was efficient. I ordered the fish and chips and was brought one very large filet served on a bed of fries. It was above average.

Great stop for lunch after a walk around the local area. We just had the open sandwiches which were delicious especially accompanied with some mayo and truffle fries. Hope to come back soon. Thanks for being so welcoming.

La Croisette situated within Daniel's department store. Family run restaurant serving great food all day, whether it's a fulfilling breakfast, scrummy lunch or just a coffee or tea break, call in & have a relaxing meal in a lovely store, you won't be disappointed!
