Friendly staff and quick service. Didn't have food as very busy and tables already reserved.

Somewhere to watch the football before Guildhall concert. Looking tired already. Barmaid upstairs and front of house very friendly.

LITERALLY BEST PLACE EVER! I had my 18th birthday here (you can hire out the top) and the staff were incredible so accommodating and so friendly. I had the games package which was so fun highly recommend and the pizza buffet. The food is so good as well as the drinks. There is a bar upstairs in the venue as well as toilets and tvs (we got to watch the england game finish). You can put your own music on and there are tables and chairs too. They also moved some so my friends and I had room to dance. I had around 60 something people and there was more than enough room everyone had an amazing time! Massive thank you to the Guildhall Village and all the staff! Made my 18th the best thing I could’ve imagined.

Hired upstairs for 21st birthday. Added a games package, which was a nice touch. Staff were super friendly and so accommodating when we were decorating and setting up a balloon wall. Drinks priced ok too. Would definitely recommend and will be going back for lunch and games. Hope you all enjoyed the cake 🎂

Badly organised. Visited for a friend’s birthday. Can’t expect being served like the ritz at a casual pub but there was effectively no service at all. We went to the bar and asked if we could order food, the staff member said yes as long as we were ordering chips as the kitchen was closing soon (but was not yet closed). We ordered two lots of chips and waited, but after a while they hadn’t arrived. Asked the same staff member to check on the chips, and after five minutes the manager came upstairs looking panicked and rushing about asking who ordered the chips. Ourselves and another person who had ordered after us were then told that the kitchen was ‘now’ closed so we wouldn’t be getting any food, and were offered refunds (which would be the bare minimum requirement considering otherwise we would have been paying for goods we never received). Ultimately, the frustration comes in because all of this could have been avoided if the kitchen and bar staff communicated better and the organisation of the venue was better all around. Additionally, telling us the kitchen was ‘now’ closed was pointless as we put the order in when the kitchen was still open, as confirmed by the bar staff. However, the two bar staff acted like they didn’t want to be there and that serving drinks was an inconvenience to them, so perhaps we should have seen the warning signs and taken what they assured us with a pinch of salt. Place is decorated okay and there are good activities but the service is just not there. Outside of the food issues there was a constant wait for drinks even when we were the only people at the bar. If you want to spend your evening queueing for drinks or waiting for food that doesn’t come rather than with the people you are visiting, this would be the place to do that.

I may have just been unlucky but every time I go into this pub the level of service has been awful. There seems to be enough staff in and around the bar but in my experience only one ever seems to be serving. The last time I was in there I was on my own and the only bar person went and spoke to a friend in the bar for two minutes before serving me. Prior to this me and my better half have been turfed off a table we have been sitting at for 20 minutes because it was reserved but nothing on the table to indicate this. The visit before that we ordered food before going to a gig in the Guildhall but it took so long to come we ended up just having the chips and cancelling the rest of it. Its a shame because the actual pub has a good atmosphere but the management need to get a grip of the service ethos here as more people will just go elsewhere.

I really enjoyed my evening at Guildhall Village with my family and friends. The atmosphere was really lively and fun, the pub was clean and well lit, and had a diversified menu that is sure to make your party happy. We enjoyed the pizzas, burgers, wings, cauliflower wings too! Everything we ate in our large party was perfectly made and very tasty. The beer menu has many choices, as does the cocktail and mocktail menu, both made expertly. Well done to the management, amazing kitchen staff and the bartenders for talking such great care of our group, thank you!

Dart boards are an absolute no-go. £20 per hour and the shots mostly don't even register. Completely pointless system. Had 4 sets of darts with us, and even used the house darts. Trebble 19 registering as single 3 constantly. set up simply does not work.

Vi tog ett besök här för en hamburgare och blev inte besvikna. Den var hemgjord och vällagad med en god hamburgerdressing till. Det fanns flera att välja på. Vi valde smaken ranch med en mild rök smak. Gott! Trevlig personal och snabb service! Puben hade också ett stort sortiment av öl. Här kunde man få det mesta av engelska öl. Bitter,lager och ale.

Management and team went above and beyond to accommodate a late booking due to another venue Double Booking!!!... Also provided us with takeaway boxes to make our buffet with us and provide bags to get them home....

Had an absolutely amazing time went with the marketing society and had the most amazing service. Especially Gee was incredible and introduced me to my new favourite drink!

DON’T DO THE DARTS, most cramped space, missing numbers and the machine not picking up on half the throws. Waste of money.

Oh dear venue for my Christmas office lunch and think that was the worst meal out in Portsmouth I have ever been served . One girl serving behind bar upstairs really did her best all on her own to also distribute food two plates at a time . Starter was burnt Brie cranberry parcels , just hard overcooked bread with no filling and a pot of mayo. The chicken burger so hard and over cooked small piece of chicken swamped in some kind of dressing . Chips were edible. Literally looked nothing like the menu offering online. So I’m not sure if precooked , understaffing issue but a complete waste of money. The only food that seemed ok were pigs in blankets and the pizzas and the ice creams. Drinks fine and some people enjoyed the games which I believe cost £100 for 3hours hire. Honestly I am staggered by the very poor quality and my expectations weren’t high to begin with .

been here with my partner multiple times, the staff is so kind and welcoming, all accommodating to any needs. the cocktails here are definitely the best around (and a good price). the drinks are made very quickly and are always great! food is amazing too, it came out very quickly and exceeded all expectations. a lot of variety and even a good selection of veggie and gluten free options. would definitely recommend!

Can't comment on food as we couldn't get a table, so we couldn't be served food... Had a drink, but had an extremely long wait! Service was awful! Maybe we were stood in the wrong place but the 2 bar staff that were serving seemed to serve everyone else before us including people that came to the bar after us... I could understand if it was busy and they had genuinely missed us .. but it was relatively quiet... Actually begrudged buying a drink with my hard earnt money will never visit again!!!!!!

Made an enquiry to book the downstairs for a small function. The manager, Brennan, and his team were all really helpful and incredibly accommodating throughout. Have had previous functions here and the atmosphere, service and food and beverages are always fantastic. Highly recommend.

Midweek afternoon, relaxed and quiet atmosphere. Quick food and drink service, I'd recommend the burger menu and wings!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon there was A loud stag party crowd in on our visit , very noisy. Good selection of beers , food was ok , a little slow service.

Our food took over 45 minutes despite it being quiet. Burgers were dry and small portions.

My son held his wedding reception here. Food was fab. The barman Lewis was brilliant all though he should have had some help at times Sadly the Landlord left alot to be disired and did spoil what had been a fabulous day and night.

We were a table of 6 that was booked in advance. We were going to an event at the Guildhall so we booked with plenty of time to eat, drink and okay some games. Having positive experiences at every visit to The Southsea Village, we elected to book a table here to have pizza before the show. The venue is nice, it wasn't too busy and our table was upstairs as we also reserved the shuffleboard. The staff were friendly, the place was presented nicely and seemed clean but from there it went downhill for us. Many of the items on the menu were out of stock. Several beers weren't available too. We almost left because as we ordered drinks, staff said they didn't have dough for pizza, which is what we'd all planned to order, they were out at 6pm on a Wednesday. As we were relaying the food and drink availability info to our friends, staff came to inform us they found they had enough to make just two pizzas, so we compromised and 4 of us ordered something else. The staff were sorry and were trying to cobble together something for us so that's why we stayed. Other menu items were also out of stock though, including vegan wings, onion rings and frickles. The food came out in parts so one couple had finished before the last meals had come out and some of the food came out wrong or had missing items in the burgers, and regular fries served instead of curly. It was all ok, and we had to get to a show so none of it was sent back but it was just disappointing that there was a delay and issues with all 6 meals and so much of the menu was not available when it wasn't even busy and we'd booked in advance. We also hired the shuffleboard, but that was awkward because they'd not seated us next to it so we had issues with people using it while we'd be near our table having our drinks as we had nowhere near the game to put them, or we were getting annoyed looks from the people that sat right next to it as we played (we weren't being too rowdy) which all took the fun out of it a bit. I do feel bad for the low score but it was a fairly awful visit. I don't think it is hard to imagine that others in our situation could have walked out, demanded a refund or been difficult after having dinner plans messed up so much. None of us would return for food or shuffleboard in a hurry but the staff were friendly and it is a pleasant enough bar to stop in for a drink

Best cat friendly pub. They have 2 pub cats which you can ask to see if they aren't already downstairs, if the owner is in they'll bring them down, and you can bring your own cat! (Has to be on lead/in a cat backpack and no cat feet on tables!) Also great food and drinks and friendly staff, good music, nice atmosphere and clean

Come here quite often with my partner for drinks and food. The staff are all always absolutely lovely. Only reason for 4 stars are not 5 is because they took Nachos off the menu!!! please bring them back <3

The pizza is baked in a stone oven, it's very hot, the sauce is plentiful, the portion is large, and the crust is very thick, making it very suitable for vegetarians.

Huge thanks to the lovely Alice for all her time and help. She went out of her way to answer my questions. Illbe sure to send my parents to your pub, when they visit in May. Alice is a superstar 🌟

After hosting a large event for 60 students here I cannot recommend this venue enough. Alice, Lewis, Ciara & Bee all went above and beyond from initial planning right up until the event finished, to help and make all our guests feel comfortable. Great communication is a big plus too. Hiring the upstairs area gave us private access to the Jäger Bar, all games and a lovely and welcoming space. We will definitely be returning for future events. Thank you once again for such a lovely evening :)

Booked the downstairs area for a private function, from start to finish the service was excellent and I can highly recommend this venue for your celebration. Alice the assistant manager is brilliant and very helpful in helping us the plan the venue. The evening was as we had hoped Alice and her team were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Alice was off that evening but came in to make sure everything was ok and to congratulate the happy couple. Food was excellent and plenty of it which was great. We will be back when we need to celebrate again. Thanks Alice to you and your team!

Good selection of food (some which they 'don't do' any more) - very sticky table. Take your own wipes. We sat upstairs and browsed the menu. The fact that the table was stickier than Gorilla glue should have been enough for me to leave and find somewhere else. My friend went down to the bar to order, we had decided on pizza. She phoned me from the bar to say 'they have no pizza dough' so we decided on 'Let us Wrap Fajita chicken' but, no, she was told 'We don't do those any more' !! We decided on something 'simple' - cheeseburger and fries, Ordered at 6.15pm and mentioned when ordering we need to leave 7pm to get to the Guildhall for a show. Was told 'We will do our best but if it's not ready in time we will refund you'. We noticed the people who ordered infront all got their food about 6.45pm so we thought ours would be imminent. My friend went down to ask and was told it would be another 20-30 minutes. She told them we couldn't wait and got a refund. We bought sandwiches from Sainsburys (I had a BLT) so all was not lost. If there is such a backlog in the kitchen I think orders should be REFUSED to give people a chance to go somewhere else rather than be on tenterhooks watching the time,. But, really, how could there be another 20-40 minute wait after the people infront got their food ?! I think if we have any other events at Guildhall we'll drive to Gunwharf Quays and eat there before parking for the show.

Excellent pub near to The Guildhall (hence the name) and Portsmouth and Southsea railway station I didn't try the food but it looked good.

Tip top pub with a great selection of drinks and food. The bogof pizzas and burgers are always a winner on a night out. The app can be a pain and paying to use the dartboard is annoying but when you're getting a huge decent pizza for £6 how can you complain.

We visited this pub as it has BT Sport and we wanted to watch a football match and have an evening meal. Asked if they were showing the match. I was told yes. Asked 4 times for the channel to be changed. A few minutes before kick off I asked again and was told they were waiting for the manager as he was the only one who could change the channel. They eventually changed the channel. Just after kick off. In the first 10 minutes of the match, the channel was changed 3 times. The food we ordered arrived. The Chin Dribbler burger wasn't too bad. My son enjoyed it. I had the Elvis pizza, described as a burger on a pizza. A more accurate description would be 1/8 of a burger on a pizza. I've had better pizza's from my freezer. We ordered a Banoffee waffle. The menu said; Waffle, Toffee Sauce, Banana & Honeycomb Ice Cream. They had no toffee sauce, offered Nutella instead. It arrived and it was a waffle, with a dollop of nuttella and a banana sliced on top. When I asked about the missing honeycomb ice cream, I was told that the cook was new and hadn't realised it came with ice cream. They brought 1 scoop of ice cream in a cup! It was turning into a farce, I half expected a film crew to suddenly appear at our table and say it had all been a practical joke.

Such an amazing place, the interactive darts and shuffleboard is such fun and the staff are wicked! Great for students with some good deals and family friendly too! The bar staff is absolutely great ❤️

Booked a table the day before and they'd placed us in a location which was nice and airy. Staff were friendly and attentive. My Wife's burger was well presented and tasty, My Grand Fromage pizza fully lived up to expectations. The honeycomb ice cream that followed was a delight! The Pino Grigiot accompanied the meal delightfully. Thanks to all. Suggestion - please have Parmesan cheese to hand for pizza's.

Had a really good time here, interactive darts is a great time and the drinks selection is great. Sadly let down by the food. Been here on a few occasions for food and always let down. And today was told they were out of pizza only to find people eating pizza a few hours later. Sort out the food issues and you got something going here but 4 attempts to try your pizza without any pizza is enough for me. FYI Imogen was amazing, can't fault her.

We were running late for a Show last night at the Guildhall and wouldn't have had time to eat our pizza so we asked the chef if he could box them up for us to take away which he did and apologised to us. We were not blaming him at all, it was our own fault and would just like to say thank you again to him and my pizza was absolutely delicious, even cold after the show!!

Wonderful drinks and welcoming atmosphere. Run by an amazing manager Brennan, it is relaxed and homely. Their 2 best bartenders, Alice and Lewis, make incredible, high quality and well priced drinks- great for university students or anyone looking for a welcoming family friendly environment. Fully accessible for a transferable wheelchair user (me) and I was outstanded by not only their willingness to help but enthusiasm. I felt fully accomeded and staff have gone out of their way to make it accessible and insure I'm comfortable. Honestly a place where I am not anxious to be who I turely am and get great food and drinks!

Excellent food and drinks. The staff are extra friendly and since coming to Portsmouth almost 3 weeks ago. It has become a firm favourite of mine and my fiancee. It's dog friendly, both inside and outside. Unlike a certain other place I could name. The range of food is excellent and totally original too.

Received incredible service today from the team. Nothing too much for them. Food as always was impeccable. Great beer and great service. What more could you want.

Went where today with my girlfriend, lovely staff and excellent food. Super selection of alcohol, all round sick find

This was easily the worst place we have been. You can't simply order as usual, you have to scan a barcode, slowly download an app, install it, register all your details, get a pin code, enter it, enter your card details before you even order. After 25 minutes we were in disappear, hungry and thirsty. We ordered, only to be told we had ordered the wrong way, ahhhhhh! We had to reorder from the beginning...we just want to eat! If there are a few of you expect to hand around someone's phone and order one at a time, very slowly. Then someone pressed the wrong button and got something else. Then the food was dry and salty, we gave up, left most of it and couldn't be bothered to wait for the pint ordered with the meal that didn't arrive. We walked, we had been beaten, Sainsbury's express sandwiches it was. REPLY: I did ask for table service which was refused by yourselves. If you are so concerned about Covid then why weren't the staff wearing masks or visors? Thanks, the sandwiches were okay.

This is a great pub, lovely and clean with great decor and loads of character The staff are friendly and eager to please. We went to the quiz night and it was hilarious The food is delicious and not like your typical pub grub. Would highly recommend this place.

Give a 3 as they is only so many burgers you can eat in a week. The staff are amazing (bubbley girl) is fantastic. Food is good, beer/is good. Prices are on par for this kind of place. I will eat there again!. So give it a go I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Called in for lunch with my daughter. As time was tight we ordered beforehand and our piping hot food was ready when we arrived which was great! Pizza was too big for my heavily pregnant daughter who took the remainder home with her! Service was great and the food perfect!

Great old fashioned type boozer in a great location across from the Theatre Royal. Excellent selection of cask beers and more on a tap wall. Only there for 90mins but will definitely visit again. Will most likely visit there again next time i am in vicinity. Recommended!!

Popped in for a quick lunch with my heavily pregnant daughter. I had the Margie pizza and my daughter had the Sweet Seoul Burger and chips which was so big she only managed half of it! Fantastic service, great food and lovely environment. Plenty of room for my daughter to sit which makes a change from many pub/restaurants which are a tight squeeze. Excellent value for money too. Will be back!

Place to avoid. It's beautiful but don't try to eat there!!! More than an hour to serve us 4 burnt, reheated burgers and two children's menus, sausages reheated several times in the microwave!!! A shame!!! Beautiful facade but terrible kitchen! It's a shame! Run away!!! Much better elsewhere and for less!
