Found the place to be very hot with central heating so I left. Part from that always a good pub

Extreme friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortable but needs decorating. Food was good and breakfast outstanding.

Great hotel , very friendly staff especially Shakira , who throughout my stay , made me feel very welcome , always had a smile on her face , locations spot on as lots to do in the area ,would highly recommend, keep up the good work , would definitely use again 👍👌

I stayed over whilst my husband was in QAH, the room was warm, comfortable and very clean. I had everything I needed. I would definitely return.

Had breakfast with my family this morning. The manager was so lovely and attentive. Great value and the food was very nice. Definitely recommend coming here.

I have given this 5 stars but they deserve 10+ for service, from the minute we walked in the staff have been amazing, the food was excellent I will certainly recommend them to friends and relatives.

Visited Innkeepers Collection at Edinburgh Toby Carvery a year back, and this was superb so it was an easy decision to make with he same company, or so I thought. There are levels below which standards should not fall despite the costs. The photos tell their own story. The staff were attentive and pleasant, however the room fails on all levels, liquid stains down the walls, stains on the ceiling, hair in the bedding, paintwork needing attention, chipped and scrapped corners, the outside security pathway need jet washing and the bins should be covered in for hygiene.

Just had breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. Well worth the bargain price. Great service too 😁

Brilliant food, Steak and Guinness pie was really good. Weirdly the highlight for me was the kids food. Too often the food served to children is on the ‘cost effective’ side and therefore lacks quality. This could not be said for this food. The gougons are fresh fish and real cod. My 5 year old loved it and I enjoyed what was left. The pizzas are really good too. Service with a smile, friendly environment and dog friendly too.

We enjoyed a very delicious & reasonably priced 3 course meal at the Red Lion Cosham on Boxing Day. We went with an uncle & close family friend. Our table was so attractive decorated with Christmas arrangements & crackers - it made our occasion feel very special. We booked our table & pre ordered our meal from the Festive menu. The choice available was very varied including traditional Christmas Fayre & Asian options - plus vegetarian & vegan. I am not vegetarian or vegan - but the vegan Penang curry is so amazingly tasty I recommended it to my other half - who also thought it delicious. Our deserts were delightful too. All our food was delicious and cooked just right. I would also recommend this pub for food at other times. I go there about once a month with my uncle for lunch & he being local visits every week. The fish & chips is really good. Generous & nicely cooked - hot & crispy chips & batter - with tender fish. There are of course other tasty choices. On top of this the staff are friendly helpful & attentive. Well done Red Lion & thanks for our special meal.

I've lived here 40 Yrs seen all staff over the years. Today was very stressful for me and my daughter who suffers anxiety nearly left as so busy. The staff today were amazing service was quick calm very helpful. Miles sarha and Paul have made red lion proud dealing with busy stressful time of Yr. Staff definitely worth holding on to and I feel could really grow in hospitality. My dad had great meal for his birthday. Thank u to the staff .x

We stayed here overnight after arriving on the ferry. Very welcoming pub! Room very clean and comfortable, excellent breakfast to fuel us for the next stage of the journey. Would definitely stay again.

Had the Christmas menu, all food was very nice. If there was a small complaint, it would be lack of vegetables with the meal, only peas. It could have done with carrots, parsnips or sprouts. However, all dishes were delicious and served hot. Atmosphere was nice and all staff were friendly.

Just had lunch today. I had the chicken melt ciabatta. The chicken was so succulent, as was the smothered chicken that my mother in law had. My husband had a rump steak which he said was 1 of the best he'd had. The service was quick and all staff were very friendly. Will definitely come next time we visit.

I can’t say enough good things about the Red Lion. The pub is well located near the QA hospital, the rooms are clean, comfortable and the pub serves great food(the chicken tikka masala was outstanding). Mostly though, it comes down to the staff. They were amazing and made the stay something pleasant during a difficult time. If you need somewhere near the hospital, you really should check them out. A massive thumbs up from me.

Stopped by for a coffee mid morning Ended up getting breakfast with unlimited tea /coffee 3 different size of full English, excellent idea We had med 7:50 was fresh cooked and very tasty especially the sausage and with 2 rounds of thick toast ( white or brown) Also seriously good service,from the front of house staff especially the lady that served us .. We will definitely be back,to try the evening menu and hubby said the Guinness was exactly how it should be Well done all

The food was fantastic, very tasty, didn't have to wait long and it came hot unlike some places I've been too. Plus as much coffee as I want, staff were very friendly and polite and the price was amazing. Plus free parking so good all round.

Wow, wow, WOW! What service, and delicious food! Family lunch out, the most amazing garlic bread to start. Bread so light, didn't feel full which l was thankful for! I had the fish, which was beautiful. Batter light, and salad was fresh and tasty - asked for salad 🥗 instead of chips, no trouble at all. Pizza awesome, and you can take home any you don't finish! Would definitely come back, going to check out their breakfast menu next time!!

This restaurant offers some excellent variety in meals. The service was certainly outstanding, lovely staff and great food. I highly recommend this venue for all occasions. Money well spent !!

The service here was fantastic they were so talkative and the food was delicious not to mention the presentation!!

I made the booking at 6 PM and checked in online at 6:30 PM and arrived at the hotel at 8 PM. The hotel staff (also bar staff) didn't know anything about the booking itself and there was no place to park the car. Plus, I had specifically booked for a twin bed room, and the hotel staff had no idea if the room allotted was in a twin bed format or a double bed format. I was quite tired and with my dad, so accepted the state of affairs, but the staff was unnecessarily bullish, though not overtly rude. The booking personnel asked me to go to the room and said that in case the room was in double bed format to then let him know and then he would come and change the configuration to twin bed, and that I would have to allow him some time as he was also working as the bar staff, which I understand, but it should not be the case in the first place. The bathroom had no clothes hangars, and the lock of the room literally did not work. The room was unlocked when I arrived and was left in the same state when I left the next morning at 6:45 AM. The location was convenient for me to travel to my destination. However, the room was literally not worth £90 a night and the overall experience was very poor.

Wow!! What a wonderful lunch we had at The Red Lion, Cosham! Service was fantastic, fabulous and friendly. The menu choice was great and full of options. The lunch and drink for £8.25 deal was really good. We had a Diet Pepsi with a really tasty Gammon steak and a pint of lager with a huge fish and chips (extra £1 for alcohol) Generous portions and delicious!! Lovely place and we will be back!

Food average but cheap so it seems not to matter too much. Ordered a few bits to share between the family on a busy football night, the food was as warm as the beer glasses. A pint of Asahi was nice but a pint of Madri in a hot glass is not pleasant. All food barely like warm but couldn't really say anything as the bar staff were under real pressure. Would I visit again? No. But they were showing the football so points for that.

The breakfast is outstanding and excellent value for money! I can highly recommend the Hearty Irish Breakfast!! I’m looking forward to next Thursday’s breakfast club!!

Everything you need and nothing you don't. Nice clean double room with comfortable bed and a decent sized shower. Breakfast served until midday with great options and very reasonably priced. I had the Mega Irish breakfast. The sausages are a cut above the usual breakfast fare and it kept me going until dinner..... delicious.

The rooms are basic and quite dated. The walls were paper thin I could hear the people in the room next door chatting. The overall stay was fine aside from a few hairs on the bedding, which was off putting but the main reason I wouldn’t stay again is because of the food served in the pub. I ordered gammon and was violently ill all night. I didn’t eat anything else all day, so I know it was this that gave me food poisoning. The food came out within 5 minutes of ordering so I think it’s was reheated which breeds bacteria. Very disappointing and completely ruined my stay. I’m still ill two days later.

We visited the area due to a family occasion. The staff, especially Amanda, who was an absolute star! We would recommend the Red Lion Cosham for both food and accommodation!

Situated near Motorway and Ferry Port makes it a good location. Lots of local history with Forts Museums and Dockyard. Great shopping and Cocktail bars in Gunwharf Quays. Big Hospital behind and local shops post office and banks in the High Street. Great find!

Great location for our visit to the historic dockyards. Room was clean and very tidy. Well equipped and the staff were spot on. The food in the evening was very good and great value. The breakfast was good quality and quite large. Great value breakfast.

Fantastic local pub. Situated in perfect location of Cosham Town Centre. Food is great, good selection on the menu, all reasonably priced and catered to all dietary needs. Food was lovely 3 parties. Come here when we meet up for our regular catch up.

I’m from Portsmouth but moved away, need a central location to see old friends. The accommodation was great, a good shower and comfortable bed, rooms were a good size, nice and clean, I’d choose to stay again. As for the pub, spot on; food amazing, atmosphere friendly, staff were friendly, helpful and professional and a short walk to bed. Thank for a good weekend 🙏

The staff are very friendly and helpful and supportive and understanding and patient and kind and the food is delicious and it is very good value for money and service is quick and the toilets are clean and I will definitely be eating here again. I recommend it to anyone.

A hotel pub, a surprise for us. The rooms were redone recently. The pub atmosphere is terrible, very lively. We were on the second level of rooms and we had no noise disturbance. The breakfasts are gargantuan. Be careful, some dishes are very spicy, it is indicated but surprise.... the hotel has a small parking lot.

Near the port if you leave the ferry by car, free parking (provided you have a room), comfortable and spotless rooms, pub/restaurant with a warm atmosphere and very reasonable prices, but above all extremely friendly and pleasant staff ! 5 stars without hesitation

I probably had the worst start to anyone when it came to staying here. Turned up early and sat in my car, carried all my bags down to be told my company had booked but not paid. Paul was amazing. He said pop your bags down. Make a phone call. Do you want a coffee. When your working away from home and you need that calm voice that says, your ok. Don't worry. Paul at the Red lion is the man. I have travelled the world and finding myself stressed on the eve of a new job is something that is very alien to me. The room needs work, as does the WiFi, but staff and service was second to non. With Paul the assistant manager at the helm, I felt that whatever issues I had. They were mute. He was there to solve them. Well played that guy. Even if he was Welsh. Lol.

The room was nicely decorated and modern, same with the bathroom. The food was good as well. The location is great, only a few minutes walk from the Cosham station. Overall, perfect place to stay for couple of nights.

Had come here for my interview a month back. They are extremely accommodating, love the food,the rooms are sound proof and the owners and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed for a night as working in the area. Great food and just in time for happy hour. Staff happy and helpful especially Rosie and michael. Which is a pleasant surprise it this day and age.

We did not use the hotel but the four of us went in for a breakfast and we were met by the very lovely Wendy. We were shown to our table as if it were a 5* restaurant. The breakfast was delicious and free unlimited tea & coffee with one glass of fresh juice was included in the price. All in all this is probably the best value breakfast anywhere in the area when considering the price, service, location and facilities. Thank you to Wendy and her very polite staff.

Received a warm welcome. Room was cosy and had quality toiletries on hand 👌 Staff went over and above to solve a minor issue with a food menu in the room. All food was good quality and plentiful...I've never known DH be defeated by breakfast but this one did! 🤣 Enjoyed our stay immensely and will return if in the area...thank you!
