Popped in here for a quick bite to eat and drink. We were greeted by a warm and friendly man. He was very pleasant, polite and happy to serve his customers. There are a couple of tables and chairs out the front of the Càfe so you can sit outside and watch the world go by. The Càfe does have an older feel to it, but it was clean and well looked after. The elderly couple who own it work very hard day in and day out. I couldn't fault the service. The prices were very good for a city centre Càfe. It is in a good location, along the seafront. There is lots of choice for something to eat here (a full english, sandwiches, pies, burgers, pasties, fish, chips, omelette, jacket potato, cakes and afternoon tea). There really is something for everyone. We ordered a bacon and cheese toastie and a ham and cheese panini. All ingredients used were good quality and there was a good amount of filling. The only thing that would have made the panini better was if it was toasted in a panini press once made as it seemed like it had been warmed, and that was it. Saying that, we both enjoyed our food. I like to support independent businesses, so I would visit here again over any chain Càfe. I'd recommend stopping by for a drink and a bite to eat.

Popped in for some food after a long train journey with my partner and son. Food nice and reasonably priced I had the sausage abd mushroom sandwich partner had the chefs fry up, and my son the nuggets. Service is friendly and done by a nice man of wiser age . Very traditional and hasn't been spoilt with modernisation, love these kind of places. I will return.

Place not far from the station, unfortunately there were 20 minutes left before my train left so I quickly ordered the food to take away: sandwich with bacon & eggs, 2 typical English desserts and an American coffee. Once I got on the train I was able to taste my food and…wow, appetizing sandwich, drool-worthy sweets. The gentleman in the restaurant is very kind and calm, a pleasure to deal with: I would go back to Portsmouth just to sit at his table 😄

Only popped in to get a quick drink and sandwich. Looks like a nice family run little cafe offering the usuals, outside there's a few little tables with nice views of the harbour. I sat outside and had a BLT sandwich, normally I wouldn't post a review on a cafe but the gent that served me was very nice and friendly. Also the sandwich was excellent, nice bread, fresh salad and a packed sandwich with lovely thick and tasty bacon. Was that nice it was worth writing a review. Come to this place instead of the Costa in the travel centre. Proper little traditional cafe, run by a friendly older couple who've been on this spot for ages. Order at counter, and food brought to table. Traditional cafe fare, tea served in pot, two teabags, and plenty of milk in the jug. Enough for three cups. Check times coz they're not always open.

The shop us opened in 70s and managed by a couple whose age could be 70-80, thus I will not compare the service and food with those high street chain restaurants. The price is cheaper and the food quality is fair. The decoration is naturally old but you will find it likes a small hub for the local community. I definitely will go to try their fish and chip next time.

Good god how is this place allowed to be open? Filthy doesn't even cover it. It's run by an elderly couple who clearly don't have the physical ability to maintain the place. Cups, teapot all thick with stains. The place is thick with dirt and grease. The gentleman advised watching our bags as people often come in and then leave again. He assumed they were opportunist thieves but the truth is people come in look around and leave because of the state of the place. Honestly the most bizarre and terrible experience.

I felt really sorry for this older couple running the cafe. Felt they were struggling with everything. Coffee took ages to come, cappuccino tasted like it was made with a sachet, owner couldn't work the card machine and cash was best. The couple could be heard arguing as they prepared the drinks. Sad for them - maybe time for a change of management.

FAWLTY TOWERS EXPERIENCE Food was ok freshly cooked not bad price. We had tea, cups were stained, he changed them but replacement dirty too. We are sure he overcharged but he wouldn't consider it, said he had checked twice but failed to give us itemized receipt to check. For 4 teas and one slice of cake it cost nearly £16 which seemed much too much. The tea is nearly £3 a person via a pot to share but you don't get any more each than a pot from Costa which costs £2.20. The cafe is old and a bit grubby, toilet the same all in need of renovation. Male owner grumpy at best, not that keen to provide much of a service. If you like the Fawlty Towers experience then this is for you , if you want a clean good value family meal then maybe not.

Needed fuelling up before hitting the ships - this is as a traditional cafe as you’ll ever see . The old chap running it is a character and I really feel has lost a bit of love for the place after all these years . The food was ok - beans a tad cold and egg shell in the eggs . This place could have so much potential- a little independent cafe in a busy area with not much competition but it was grotty - far too much random clutter everywhere . Refilled sauce bottles that looked old and dirty . It’s a hard time to be in hospitality at the moment and I hate to see places like this swallowed up by big corporate soul sucking coffee shops so give it the love it deserves again and I’m Sure it’ll still be going strong in years too come .

He took our order under duress and was equally gruff at payment the worse part was listening to him berate the woman working in the kitchen (who was very pleasant when she bought the food out.) They argued constantly while preparing the food The food was well below average and I only wanted cheese on two toast with beans instead I got cheese on toast with beans on one slice and a bit of toast on the side, coffee although he insisted was an Americano (correcting me after if asked for strong white) was just instant. I don’t recommend but it was busy so maybe we got a bum deal?

We were staying at the Premier Inn just around the corner but wanted to have breakfast elsewhere. The first day we sat inside, near the kitchen and was fully entertained by the elderly couple running the place. The arguing was like watching a live version of Faulty Towers. I had bacon, eggs and black pudding on toast, my wife had scrambled eggs on toast and my son had beans on toast. We also ordered two pots of tea (one being decaf) and a glass of orange juice. It came to just under £20 It was very nice and the pots of tea were quite big The second day we had a takeaway with a BLT, sausage sandwich and small English breakfast, no idea how much as I was still in bed. My girlfriend and I ventured into this lovely little cafe after a day at Gunwharf, and we loved it, and will be going back for sure. It’s not actually called Café Oasis, the owner explained to me that he had borrowed the barrier from his son’s cafe. This is actually called The Slipway, as it is directly opposite a slipway across the road. The cafe has a great nostalgic feel to it, and took my back to my 80s childhood with some of the decor inside. The gentleman that owns and runs the place is a very friendly guy, and up for a good chat. We ordered our food and paid by card, and took a seat outside to enjoy the weather. Food came quickly and my cheeseburger was so full of flavour, topped with a very nice mature cheddar. My girlfriend had a smoked salmon and cream cheese baguette, which she described as perfect, and was surprised how much salmon was in it. For afters, I couldn’t resist a strawberry ice cream, the good stuff, made with clotted cream and real strawberry chunks. We loved this place and would recommend to anyone. 10 out of 10, will eat here again!

The Cafe Oasis was handy and looked "OK" so we sat outside in the sunshine and had our food. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I ordered a coffee and a black pudding and egg sandwich. The sandwich was excellent; the black pudding and egg were freshly and perfectly cooked (the egg was particularly nicely done with a liquid yolk) and it was spot on for my needs. Don't be put off by possible first impressions, it does look a little "tired" from outside (maybe better described as "having character"), but do go in and try the food and friendliness.

Stopped in for Sunday lunch and was seriously impressed! For £15, I got a main, a pint, and a pudding—such a bargain. There was a great choice of meats and veg, and everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were so lovely and made us feel really welcome. Honestly, one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in a while. Will definitely be coming back!

We popped into the guildhall village before heading off to the guildhall for a show. There was a lovely atmosphere and warm, friendly welcome on entering. Despite being busy, our food arrived quickly and we were well looked after. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Eating in, the food is fresh and tasty, and the coffee is good too. My regular Thursday lunch escaping from work.

Excellent service and helpful staff, went back today to see if I dropped my bank card. I was told by a very helpful young ladies, they had one asked for my details and collected it from the safe. Thank you

Nice place , why can you not do a decent burger ? The chin dribbler is unlikely to live up to its name , todays burgers need to have tomatoes , gherkins, jalapenos, hot sauce , mushrooms onions , not a burger with one piece of lettuce and a value stodgy yellow sauce from a bottle . Just look at 5 guys and try to do better for £7.30 a pint and £12.95 for a dull burger .
