Came here for a family meal, sadly some people in our party were unable come, the man in charge then proceeded to shout at us infront of other customers and telling us too leave all because we were unaware some people were going to be unable to attend without our knowledge. Very rude staff will never be returning.

Absolutely beautiful food and great service,we will definitely be going back.

Friendly staff and good food. Have the tempura prawns to share and the steak and chicken shawarma. All tasty and well cooked. A little hidden away but well worth a visit.

My family arranged Mother’s Day lunch here. Food was great. It gets very very busy. This time we were more comfortable than an evening meal we’d had here previously. Last time we felt very squashed in. It’s a popular place so booking is recommended.

Me and my boyfriend came to the Earl for our valentines meal and had such a lovely time. The staff were super attentive and every course we ate was absolutely gorgeous. Couldn’t recommend enough, we’re 100% coming back to try the sunday menu asap! 🙂

Had the Sunday lunch. Lamb was good, everything else on the plate was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The best elements were the swede puree and the Yorkshire pudding.

I went to The Earl for Restaurant Week lunch last week with my parents. Interesting menu with a varied selection, delicious food, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere! I hadn't eaten here for over two years, I will definitely be gack again soon!

Quite probably the best Sunday lunch ever! The food was so good, we had Lamb and belly pork, with a side of piggies in blankets, everything was just perfect! The place is very quirky, so great surroundings and the staff just the right amount of attentiveness, will definitely be going back!

Possibly the best Xmas Dinner I've ever been served. Absolutely top drawer!

From going through the doors and smelling the FANTASTIC fragrances of the food, the variety of drinks on offer...and sadly I can't recall which real ale I had...but it was pale yellow in colour and it was the best alcoholic drink I've ever had!! Golden nectar it most certainly was. I had the Korean Chicken and it was absolutely superb. Looking for a hidden gem? You've just found it!! Enjoy!!

Great food and friendly but felt a bit chased out - took away our wine glasses when we’d still wine left, bringing in plant pots from outside and turning lights off around us at 9:15pm.

Treated my sister for her 60th birthday today. Didn’t realise it wasn’t a la carte during the week and my sister didn’t like burgers but wasn’t disappointed as Bo pulled out all the stops and asked the chef to cook her something special which he did and i had the delicious tacos from the lunch menu. Then Bo, Katie and the chef ( sorry didn’t get your name) sang happy birthday. It absolutely made her day very special - thankyou so much xx

We went on 26/9 day after my birthday expecting the a la carte, not to be they don’t serve on Tuesday, so disappointed. Bo the server spoke To the chef and he asked what we would have from the a la carte, I chose the lamb randani which was amazing and he went out of his way and rustled this up for me. I honestly couldn’t fault the service I had the Eton Mess and they even put a candle in it and both Bo, Katie and chef sang happy birthday. We can’t thank you enough we had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be back and maybe not be so demanding ha ha sorry girls

Fabulous couple of meals here with friends and pup in tow. Really well looked after, great food and the dog got a lot of love 🐩🥰 Food is a mix of nicely executed Asian influence dishes and traditional British favourites. The tempura prawns are huge, juicy and crispy, with a very moreish noodle salad. The burger a decent size with goodb"normal"fries and the Sunday roasts really really generous portions with loads of gravy. Loved this place and the staff!

I first had a Sunday lunch at Pitt Street in 2018. I remember it being a hidden gem and couldn’t believe I hadn’t been sooner. When my friends requested a Sunday lunch spot, I knew this was the place for us and it maintained my high expectations from 3 years ago! We were all so full and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. It’s worth noting my vegetarian friend was so happy with the nut roast, as these all too often usually disappoint! The sticky toffee pudding was also sooo great for dessert if you have space!

Delicious Sunday Lunch, visited for the first time Easter Sunday (Collection only). The food is delicious, everything is cooked beautifully & so so tasty! The price is amazing for the quality of produce you get. This is our new favourite for Sunday Lunch & can’t wait to try some of the other dishes when lockdown ends. Staff were lovely and friendly. We will be back next week!

Having had our Christmas away cancelled at the last minute we had little hope of finding a click and collect meals service for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but the Earl of Pitt St came to the rescue.Even though we had missed the deadline for orders by one day, the helpful staff were pleased to help and on Christmas Eve we collected two magnificent feasts of delicious food. We counted ourselves very lucky indeed. Superb in every way.

Delicious Sunday lunch by takeaway. Easy to order and a pleasure to eat. Very good value too. Roll on next Sunday.

Located just a five minute walk from St James' Park this gastro pub offers great food at great prices.The restaurant is located on two levels and the decor is a little on the quirky side.We went for the 3 course lunch menu for £21.50 and there was also a 20% Facebook discount.Our party of three enjoyed all the dishes although particular mention goes for the Cauliflower Soup, Massaman Curry and Frangipane Tart.The lady who served us was very attentive and kept us entertained for the whole time we were there.We will definitely return.

El personal fue muy atento y acogedor. Me sentí muy seguro y todo el lugar estaba impecable.

Mi pareja y yo hemos visitado aquí dos veces, una durante el período festivo y otra vez para un asado dominical. En ambas ocasiones hemos estado muy contentos con la comida y el servicio. Llegamos con una persona extra un domingo ajetreado y el caballero que nos atendió fue muy servicial a la hora de encontrarnos una mesa a pesar de que estaba tan ocupado. La carne asada se derrite en la boca y la selección de verduras es deliciosa. Buenas cervezas locales de barril, ¡ojalá tuvieran más ron especiado o algunas ginebras adicionales en oferta! Pero, en general, no podemos esperar a volver una vez que todo esto pase.

Our Favourite restaurant in Newcastle. Friendly staff, reasonable pricing, great food, plus a good selection of Gluten Free. Even better, take out during a difficult time. Sunday lunch is the best.

After eating here once before on a Saturday Night, we decided to test out the Sunday Lunch. We werent dissapointed, shown to our more than adequately sized table for 2 (sometimes tables can be cramped), the place was spacious and not overcrowded.Staff were attentive but not over pushy, very much on the ball. Starters were fantastic and not too much. The main course menu was typical sunday lunch but everything had a bit of a twist. When it came the size of the dinner was more than enough, and the meat was to die for. Only downside was the side of pigs in blankets for some reason had a weird taste which we both thought, but didnt spoil the rest of a fantastic lunch, not enough to be marked downWould

My husband and I had our Sunday Lunch here today, the food was fine, although I found myself chewing on a piece of black wire at least an inch long, I pointed this out to the waiter and he apologised, the bill came and he said “we have taken off the 10% surcharge”......yes they had taken off an ‘OPTIONAL’ surcharge (tip).... had they actually taken something off our £46 bill I would not have left this review.

Can’t rate this restaurant more highly food amazing and the restaurant soo cosy and relaxing very bohemian. When you first go into the bar they seat you in the bar area and then take you to the restaurant upstairs . Staff friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend

Came as part of restaurant week in January. Food was really nice, flavoursome, well presented and the setting in the restaurant is welcoming and cosy. We all got 3 courses and were all really happy with each course. The staff are friendly without being in your face. First visit for us and we will definitely return.

Something of a hidden gem that deserves to be better known. A lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends, with a good choice of drinks that are very reasonably priced. Also the ladies toilets are great (never underestimate the power of clean and shiny toilets to improve your visit to anywhere!) The food is very good indeed, with an interesting focus on East Asian dishes. Recommended.

Great for the Sunday dinner amazing portions. Came for restaurant week loved it so mutch came back 2 days later for the dinner. The staff where attentive/friendly and gave our dog a mini beef meal to have with us!

Booked a table for a party of 20 people to celebrate a colleagues retirement. We had a fantastic night with great food and service and friendly staff. Everyone had a great time and as usual the Earl of Pitt Street lived up to its reputation of excellent food, service and value for money.

We visited the Earl of Pitt Street for the second time today and, as ever, it lived up to our high expectations. The staff were great and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! So happy we have found such a good restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

Arrived at 7.15 for our table booking for 15 people ( birthday celebration ). We were greeted by friendly welcoming staff at the bar. The food was amazing ( ranging from vegan menu to steaks ) the manager plus the bar staff/waiters couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Nothing was a problem especially as it was restaurant week and it was really busy. There was a great choice of starters, mains plus deserts that couldn't fail to impress. All food arrived swiftly and as ordered. Thank You Earl Of Pitt Street Team for making a birthday celebration a very memorable occasion we will certainly be back.

Regular diner at The Earl and decided to take advantage of the £18 for 3 courses offered during Restaurant week. Even though it was extremely busy, adding to the ambience, our food and service was faultless. I love this place, always feel welcomed on arrival and during our meal.Thank you again for a wonderful evening

Great food, poor and unprofessional service. The manager was so busy gesturing to the waitresses how much she wanted our table to leave, she forgot she was doing so in the middle of the restaurant and customers can see her. Very off putting.

Just a corner kick away from St James Park is this fabulous traditional Geordie pub ! With a fabulous interior! The decoration is worth the visit alone ! immaculate toilets great welcoming atmosphere we ordered some drinks and bar snacks. Ham hock terrine, beef skewers, halomi and garlic prawns! Great selection beers wines What a start to an afternoon in the Toon! Hats off to the kitchen team food was well presented fresh perfect portion sizes and was fabulous! Worth a trip even if the Toon are not playing even if it’s just for drinks’ Will need to try out the main menu as this looks amazing oh they have an upper floor ! So popped upstairs it was full with a Christmas Party! Would have loved an invite! It was buzzing Fantastic place!!

What a fabulous find in an unexpected yet central and accessible location! A warm welcome in every sense, with a beautiful thoughtfully controlled vibe and atmosphere, coupled with an eclectic mix of Asian fusion and British dishes. The service was 5* the food tasty, hot, delicious, beautifully presented, the wine list varied and the price affordable. Keep it up Earl of Pit Street!

I love the food here and the service was excellent. We had Thai lemongrass sea bass fillet and prawn curry with jasmine rice and desserts. They were delicious and you could taste the authentic Thai taste in it.

We walked up here after reading the menu online and hoped For a lovely meal, only to be told that the chef had gone home And food was closed. The website stated ‘late food’ and that last food orders were 21:30 - we got there at 21:05 and were told that food had finished and that the restaurant was closed. ( on a Friday night ) disappointing.

This is the 4th time we have had lunch at this restaurant. Each time we have been with very warm and welcoming staff. The menu is varied, cooked to perfection,looks and tastes amazing. We have even been here for our Christmas day out. Well worth a visit. We will be back

Visited here on a cold Saturday lunchtime and had the skewers and curry, great cant remember what it was called but it had a roti. Really lovely restaurant, a bit quirky in decor which works well, excellent service and good prices.

Have been a few times, but we went with friends for a wedding Aniversary meal. we decided to have the 3 course special and we were not disappointed all of us enjoyed the food so much only empty plates went back to the kitchen.

Visited The Earl with 2 colleagues for a mid week meal. The staff were friendly, attentive and personable and we were warmly greeted by the owner. The food was outstanding, great choice, well executed and full of flavour.

Had an amazing night last night at Earl of Pitt street .

Busy when we arrived, we were early wanted to have lunch upstairs so about 20min wait but it was worth it for a fantastic beef dinner with plenty of veg. The staff we great after we went upstairs for our meal the young girls were friendly and didn't wait long for our meal. Don't forget if you want to go here it's best to book up.

Wow what a plate of food. 7 varieties of vegetables and a massive amount of beef! The owner and staff are really good here normally through the week, and that was no different today. This is an old style pub that is quirky, clean and friendly. I was amazed at the value today.

We had an OK meal, not great - but more than acceptable.

From the outside, this look like a fairly 'ordinary' place but once inside the wow factor takes over, the decor is wonderfully odd and the food outstanding. If I was local I think I would become a regular visitor.

We visited for a Birthday Sunday Lunch, we had booked for 11 people but at the very last minute 2 dropped out. We were on 2 tables pushed together, and with it being an uneven number, we asked if we could move the person sitting by themselves and put them at the head of the table so we could be more sociable. The owner acted as if we had asked him the hardest question in the world, he took away one of the tables and expected 9 of to squash around a table meant for 6 (at a push).

I have been looking forward to visiting for a while and therefore found the average food particularly disappointing. It was restaurant week so a cheaper meal therefore I wasn’t expecting 5* but it was bland.

Ate in the bar on my own off the restaurant week menu. The food was superb and incredibly reasonably priced considering the quality. Staff were really nice and friendly and made me feel very welcome. Would definitely return on future visits to Newcastle. Highly recommended.
