really nice atmosphere, food is decent and standard pub food, prices are decent. atmosphere is lovely, warm and homely inside, lively but not too loud!

Came for a quick drink. Nice large place located right in the centre of Windsor across the road from the castle. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Service was ok. Food menu available but we didn't order any food.

Came here to meet a friend for a few drinks. However we decided to stay for food. Very glad we did, our server Daisy was so lovely with good knowledge of the menu and was really attentive. Food was lovely. We will be back!

Loved it so much. Great service amazing vibes in a beautiful, characterful and vintage interior. Liked that it is fairly relaxed while feeling sophisticated and food prices and very reasonable. Alicia was very accommodating and patient and helped us extremely well with my husband’s dairy allergy. It was handled extremely well and taken very seriously. Thank you Alicia for great service !!

My wife and I took our friend there for lunch. My wife and her friend had the fish and chips , and I had ham and eggs. After we ordered the food, the manager placed a reserved sign on our table saying we only had an hour left to sit at the table.My wife found a hair in her food. My ham was slimy and fatty the eggs one was rock hard, and the other wasn't cooked and was also very snotty. We complained to the duty manager who was very nice and apologetic and refunded one meal.we then explained we wasn't tourists but quite regular visitors so she then refunded all the bill and gave us a free drink but you could see the distane on the managers face as this was happening. It's a shame, but we won't be returning soon.we will return in the summer to see if there has been a change in manager.

I visited the Duchess Of Cambridge recently and had fish and chips. The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly. I think I was served by Stacey who checked on me throughout. Definitely worthy of 5 stars.

Extremely disappointing roast beef (£22.50) beef was like old leather and cold , veg were negligible ( 2 small pieces of carrot and parsnip one small wilted bit of broccoli and a small spoonful of cabbage ) gravy was straight out a packet but the potatoes were good , rather go to Toby Carvery Cliff

A great friendly with great staff and comfy place to stop off for a beer, didn't have the food but it did smell great maybe on the next visit, definitely recommend

I have visited Tha Duchess of Cambridge with my family yesterday. We had fantastic time there. Very welcoming atmosphere, delicious fish and chips. Our waitress Joanna was helpful and lovely. Thank you. I can fully recommend this pub 💕

Really nice place outside of the castle to go too. Good food and drink. Great atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night. Only disappointing thing is the toilets are disgusting on those evenings and are never cleaned.

Friendly staff in a British pub that's pretty much used to having lots of tourists so it doesn't really focus on the quality of food. But it is what it is and serves the local market well

This visit was taken 2 years ago 22/01/23 I still have some pictures on my phone and thought I would give this lovely pub a review, Food is yummy specially the padron peppers we tried to book this place before this visit to Windsor but they closed at 4 pm this is 2 yrs ago so the second time we managed to get a table ! Lovely lunch and drink while exploring the castle 🏰

Omg I had the Steak Fritas and it was lush.. 5 of us ordered different meals and rhe feedback was everything was lush. I would definitely go back. Location is amazing, even the music was good. Staff were helpful and polite.

We were here for a week visiting from the states. This was the BEST gluten free meal we had all week. They have a menu for gluten free. The woman I assume is the manger took time to assist another member of our travel party with his dietary restrictions. Thank you for keeping us safe! The steak sandwich was so great. I’ll dream about that onion marmalade. The gf brownie was fantastic. I was sad we couldn’t try the cheesecake because it was out of stock but it sounded amazing. Thank you for wonderful service!!

The venue was very busy, however the staff were very accommodating and attentive. Sarah was mindful of our requests. Joanna, despite the fact that it was very busy, was excellent, fantastic service with a smile and a chat. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was very good, but the pies could have had a little more mash, otherwise all was perfect. Thank you to the team. You deserve recognition for making our afternoon enjoyable.

Great food in the most touristy location. Would recommend Wagyu burger and pies.

Really poor experience. Starters were dumped on the table at the same time as main course. Food was very mediocre and music was too loud. Tables were sticky so obviously not cleaned after each seating of clients.

Food was warm just microwaved to heat it up attitude of staff very rude sat down and ordered food and then 10 minutes later was told table was reserved and had to get off the table in 45 minutes but it was not reserved when we sat down

Amazing Pub with delicious food and 5 star service, special thanks to (if I remember correctly) Joanna Gaweda really sorry if I butchered your name, she provided us with exceptional service for instance she offered us local Beer tasting which was excellent and unexpected then we asked if there's anything particular she would recommend for dinner and without any hesitation she offered their traditional Fish & Chips as well as Steak Pie I had a Pie and partner had Fish, that was one of the best pie's and fish and chips we ever had, and all credit to amazing Joanna that's super positive, fun, energetic and amazing service provider. Thank you and definitely will be back again

My wife and kids went for lunch today but what an anticlimax, miles below par, nachos terrible, dry nachos without melted cheese around a tiny bowl of grated cheese, random kidney beens, salsa and sour cream mixed together, a child could of put this together, a plate of six chicken strips, ham egg and chips, 2 lemonades and a medium wine, mugged off for £60 plus and a rude waitress to boot, merry Christmas to you too!

Joanna was our fantastic server. In spite of being extraordinarily busy, she was very attentive and ensured we were well taken care of. The fish & chips and sticky toffee pudding were exceptional and are a must-try. Will certainly come back here next time we are in Windsor.

Nice place for lunch after visiting the Castle. Great ambiance and service. Wonderful burger and beer. And very quick service in spite of being busy. Kids menu was perfect for our 3 young ones. Plenty of food and reasonable prices.

Had a couple of cocktails and the baked camembert to share which was lovely. The staff were friendly including a great member of the team who was clearing tables and bringing out food wish I had caught his name as he was an asset. Atmosphere is cosy without being cramped and the Christmas decorations were up which made the place feel very festive.

Joanna did an extremely good job. She took care of us. All the time with a beautiful smile.

Ola was so friendly and helpful! We had their first mulled wine of the season and it was fabulous! They make their mulled wine from scratch rather than just dumping a bottle in a pan and warming it. SO DELICIOUS!!!

Amazing venue!!! We booked a table for 12x adults and our 1yr old son for my mums 70th Birthday. We had a mixture of mains and each one was delicious. The staff couldn’t help us enough and were extremely friendly, they even let us cut our own birthday cake up and have that for dessert. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough and we would definitely return next time we visit Windsor. Thank you 👍👍

Firstly a nice pub in Windsor, there’s where the pros end. We had one person with a dairy allergy and there was no dairy free meat option, instead there was a vegan tart I would not recommend at all. The broccoli was wet, stringy and soggy, potatoes flavourless, gravy mediocre, cauli cheese loads of cheese but no flavour, pigs in blankets burnt to a crisp. Great pub if you wish for drinks just not a roast. Service extremely average.

I love this pub, it's beautiful and staff is cheerful! I love Martin's cocktails, his margarita is my favourite of all!

Really disappointed with the cocktails, £11 for PornStar Martini that is a bad bulk premix, then a Margarita that is no better. Sorry but for these prices, they should make cocktails that taste as they should. Besides the whisky tastes like it is watered down. Not impressed and not a customer to this place.

Had an amazing Lamb pie with veg, best pie I have ever tasted (seriously that good). Great service, warm and welcoming, just like the atmosphere. Sticky toffee pud with both custard and ice cream was recommended by waitress and was spot on. Great place to eat anytime but we went before theatre show in Windsor. Been a number of times - great view of castle and video show on tower in December. 5 stars

Lovely pub at the heart of Windsor Castle. Friendly and welcoming service. Lovely Alexandra recommended the baked camembert and I can safely say it’s the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend and visit again when I return to Windsor!

Visited Tuesday 29/11/24, we were returning family to Heathrow so always stop off for a bite to eat in Windsor , we all ate Fish ,&chips with a beer , staff were amazing and the food absolutely delicious, and two off our party were chefs

Also another positive thing, when we sat down with our family, the staff came and gave our kids som drawing stuff. Family friendly pub indeed, as well they had their own kids menu. The negative things. I ordered bangers and mash. The bangers were dry and cold. Tasted like they were leftovers from the day before. Everything else about the meal was fine. Also the selection of ales and ciders was not very good. The ales I had, not top notch and the selection was not very big. Will I visit this place again? Maybe, it depends.

Amazing food and our waiter Lee provided outstanding service throughout the night. I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. I had the best fish and chips and my partner had the steak and ale pie which he said was one of the best he’d eaten! Thank you Lee for your service - a true asset

We had a chicken and a beef roast. We ordered at the bar and 5 mins later the food arrived. The quickest roast ever! Unfortunately, the potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were dry. Clearly they has been put under a heater to keep warm for some time. In my opinion, not worth the price at all.

Food is nice. The young boy and girl staff are really friendly too. Really friendly thank you for the staff. But sorry that there is an old lady with black hair and glasses who is rude. I question that maybe she is racist since she ignored me standing in front of the desk and helped to order for the girl standing behind me. Seriously please be kind to everyone. I brought parents to this pub not for your attitude.

real5 Networking Windsor & Maidenhead held our monthly business networking event at The Duchess of Cambridge on Friday 18th October. We had visited this venue before and knew it to be good value with excellent food and hospitality. It did not disappoint this time. The front of house team of Ola, Alicja, Sarah and Daisy were so welcoming and helpful, while the food produced by the chefs Rob and Lukasz was both plentiful and delicious. Would thoroughly recommend The Duchess of Cambridge and the team for anyone who wants great food, hospitality and atmosphere.

Lovely pub situated in the heart of Windsor. Great food, decent portions and good value for money. As expected with the location it does get busy however, this was not reflected on the service. All the staff were friendly and welcoming especially our waitress Alex. Alex had great knowledge of the area and made a few recommendations to make our visit at Windsor one to remember! Even going above and beyond, helping us book our tour of Windsor castle. We wouldn't have managed without her. Thank you Alex you absolute star! 🌟

Great experience at the pub! We were greeted and seated promptly! The order came so quick and the portion size was amazing! Think we ordered too much as I did not expect the portions would be quite as large! Definitely recommend. Atmosphere was amazing and the location is just superb for when you are coming for a day out in Windsor!

Had a really great meal here a couple of weeks ago. Great food although a little on the warm side rather than hot but this was really quickly dealt with. The lady who looked after us was fantastic. I think her name was Emily, apologies if this was wrong.

A bustling pub but the food and service were spot on so got lunch without delay. I'm not usually a burger fan but the Wagyu burger was delicious

The claim of serving the best British fish & chips is an overstatement—the fish wasn’t even fresh. We also ordered a wagyu burger, priced around £17 or £18 (I can’t recall exactly), and it was truly disappointing. Will not visit again.

Food was awful. Potatoes and rice were definitely microwaved. Potatoes were rubber. Rice was cheap microwaved rubbish you'd buy from supermarket. Meals were tasteless. Nearly £70 for two mains, two sweets and two juices. Second worst meal we've ever had.

The Sunday Roast was excellent which worked well with the local beer! Our waitress Aleksandra was very helpful in sorting out everything for us after the delay with our drinks and miscommunication with the kitchen regarding the pre-order Roast. We will definitely return to try the pie of the week.

Great pub to enjoy after touring Windsor Castle. Alessandra, our server, was wonderful and the items she recommended were great. The fish and chips and the Pie Tasting Plate are a must do!

My family and I had dinner the day we arrived to Windsor and loved it so much that we returned for lunch the following day. I highly recommend it.

We (3 adults) had the pleasure of being looked after by Kristin. He had that rare blend of hospitality, yet not at all bothersome. When next visiting Windsor, we will be happy to try another delicious dinner .

Was away with partner really fancied a Sunday lunch call in to the duchess. Omg!!!!! Wow the customer service was spot on and staff were friendly . And the lunch was so tasty and satisfying. Great value for money would vist again

Fish and chips are all right. Claiming this is the best of British fish and chips is a big call to make. We’ve definitely had better. Service is OK but nothing special. Atmosphere inside is good, except for the choice of thumping music which somehow is not befitting the establishment. Overall, this is forgettable.

We came across this by chance. Unfortunately, they had sold out of meat pies. Fortunately, the curry was very good. Tables were clean and staff were friendly.

Had run out of roasts so ordered a pie. The pie that arrived was not the one I had ordered and they then told me they had run out of that one. Asked me if I’d like to order something else but by this time my of my party had nearly finished their meal. Overall a bit disappointing but might be better on a less busy day.

We live local and have been coming to this pub for years. We loved the choice of ales, the food and the ambience. Unfortunately all has suddenly changed for the worse. Out of all the ales taps on show only one was available and it wasn't very nice. The staff looked like they couldn't be bothered and when dinner came it was a real disappointment. I went for the steak and ale pie which is what I normally get. It used to be a big fluffy pastry pie with loads of meat and plenty of chips and gravy. This time it was a tiny pie not much bigger than your average pork pie. It wasn't very hot and there was only about 8 chips with hardly any gravy. Needless to say the price has gone up by about 20%. I won't come back here again, which is a a shame because it has been a good pub for years. It seems to be the same story in hospitality nowadays, the minimum wage keeps going up which doesn't make anyone better of because everything in life goes up with it, and the service gets worse and worse. It seems like staff want big wages but don't want to work for it. Extremely disappointed.

Extremely rude and unwelcoming. We sat in an empty restaurant for a quick drink with our 3 children and were told we were not allowed to move 2 chairs to allow us all to sit down. The children then sat ourside and were asked for Id as they were sitting 3 metres away from us. Horrible and unpleasant experience from a rude waitress. Very sad as I grew up in Windsor and expected more.

Could not be less welcoming. We were told we could it even borrow chairs from empty tables to sit down with zero charm or civility.

It started with a smile ... but then went wrong ! Menus looked they were just dried on a radiator !... Sat in the 'waitress service' area with 2 other tables of 2 people so not busy ! . Waited for attention to order drinks... 3 cocktails = but as my 19 year old had no ID so she had a coke, which was totally understandable... Then proceeded to wait 30mins before we decided to leave as there was no "waitress' ... We decided to leave... but got charged for the 3 cocktails ... so we went back to ask for a refund for the difference of a cocktail to a coke ... It was commented that I had an attitude (which I heard!!!!) Guy with bleached hair (didn't get his name) obviously didn't like someone asking for their money back!!! Shame !!

We had booked a table 2 weeks in advance for 11 people. It was all self service as told we were not in restaurant. Disappointing why thet didn't put us i. Restaurant. My mum is gluten free and a simple ham, egg & chips meal was not available. She ended up with egg & chips only. Not good

During a recent trip to Windsor and after a long day of walking & sightseeing I was really looking forward to a Traditional Pub Meal in this well known local Pub. I was sadly very disappointed , the prawn cocktail starter was ok although had to ask for butter for the chargrilled sourdough bread , the main course of steak & ale pie with chips and veg was terrible , pie was dry and I had to ask for gravy which I think was meant to come with it , the gravy tasted like the packet bisto, chips were oven chips and the green veg soggy and tasteless , I left the majority of the food ( after a few chips and some of the pie as I was starving ) I did inform staff that my main meal was poor , I was expecting to be offered at least a partial refund which was not offered , the food was not cheap approx £8.50 for the starter and £17.50 for the pie and chips . Definitely not good value , I had eaten in a Thai restaurant previously and a Brasserie for around the same price both of which served delicious food freshly cooked . The Pub itself is very quaint and I would visit again for drinks but sadly my experience would put me off eating in there again .

We went to see Windsor Castle on Saturday 29 June. Decided to go for dinner before returning to our airbnb. We saw the Duchess of Cambridge pub on the opposite side of the road, and decided to try it. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service prompt. I chose wholemeal scampi and my partner had Ham, Egg and chips. The meals arrived quickly, and was absolutely delicious. It was a hot day, and we were also given an iced bottle of water and glasses. The staff were attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. The music played was very acceptable too. The seats were comfortable, which was great as I have mobility issues.

Called whilst visiting Windsor Castle across the road. Service was quick, and the food of good quality and quantity . Toilets very clean.
