Excellent little cafe/restaurant and tea room in the heart of Hamstreet. Excellent service and excellent good quality food in such pleasant surroundings. Trevor has been an invaluable addition to the already lovely team. Well done Sadie, Danielle and Trevor for making our visit enjoyable. A must visit for anyone who likes a great experience in both food and company.

Had a brilliant afternoon tea today. Best I’ve had in the Ashford/Romney Marsh area. A lovely start was the small cup of soup, then the sandwiches followed by a lemon posset to cleanse the palette before the scones and cake. Everything home baked Superb!

We came across The Cosy Kettle a few weeks ago on a run, and saw the pancake breakfast (order 48 hours in advance) so booked for a birthday treat. It was outstandingly amazing, super yummy, really lovely environment, friendly people and great value. Definitely will be back as there are so many other things on the menu we want to try! Would completely recommend the pancakes too.

Lovely quiet setting, great service with freshly prepared food made with fantastic ingredients. Chose a few items from the extensive list and ended up with a full English, the service was fast considering it was made freshly, not that I was in a hurry, it was just a great place to site and read the paper. I definitely want to return and try the pizza menu they offer later in the day.

I booked for my friend and I and we had a lovely little table reserved for us when we got there. The service was good and friendly and we didn't wait too long for food, we both had jacket spuds and they were good, amazing homemade coleslaw on mine. The best part was the gluten free toffee torment cake, it was fabulous and both my friend and myself had to stop ourselves from stuffing it down, it was so good. Bought a piece home for hubby and he loved it too. Would highly recommend this little cafe and I'm looking forward to going back and trying their afternoon tea next time.

A request to clear our table after the previous occupants, was met with… well, difficult to describe, - petulance? the waitress took one object from the crowded table. We cleared the remainder onto the adjacent table. Our table with crumbs from the previous people remained unwiped. I couldn’t wait to leave. I can visit better places than this to be treated rudely! We’re fairly local and had been looking forward to trying out this cafe, but we won’t be returning.

I've been in several times over the years and sorry to say I think it's gone downhill a bit. We went in for a cream tea and the scones were rather hard and inexplicably had lemon peel in them. Personally I like a plain scone in a cream tea, which wasn't available. We also had one of the large shortbread biscuits which was disappointing too. On the positive side the staff were friendly and helpful and the coffee was good, it was just the baked goods that let the side down.

A surprise Mother’s Day trip with my daughter and 3 year old granddaughter. Greeted on arrival and given the perfect table by the toy corner so that my granddaughter could go off and play safely near us. Fantastic selection of sandwiches and cakes. Bread so fresh and filled with delicious ingredients. Triple layer sponge cake, small fruit tart, salted caramel brownie and or course a large fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. As much tea as we wanted. My granddaughter had her own tray of sandwiches and cakes and thoughtfully the salted caramel brownie was substituted with an Oreo brownie. We didn’t feel rushed. A lovely bunch of carnations was handed to both me and my daughter as it was Mother’s Day, such a lovely touch. Very friendly staff, fresh, tasty food and a lovely setting. Will definitely return.

I really liked this cafe when I first moved to the village but since they introduced a train set and children's books I love it! Very child friendly, good food and coffee. I've eaten excellent quiche, baguette and panini here and the chutney with the ploughman's is gorgeous. We ate here last week and our 2 year old was uninterested in eating so the lovely lady working there spent ten minutes playing trains with him while we got to eat our lunch - amazing! Talk about service! It's worth noting that there isn't a baby changing station due to a lack of space, though I'm sure they'd provide one if it were possible. They also can't take cards, but there is a cashpoint in the shop across the road.Overall a huge asset to our village!

The cold were even brought over to our table for us which is a nice touch as they are right there in the fridge when you order so they could ask you to take them with you.The food was served quickly and was really well presented. It also tasted really lovely, and we left enough room to choose a piece of cake (back to the deliberations as there was such a good selection to choose from).Milk (for the kids) is served in gorgeous little milk bottles, things like this just give it that 'extra touch'.I would highly recommend going to the Cosy Kettle and I will definitely be back again.

I found The Cosy Kettle through TripAdvisor reviews when looking for somewhere for a light lunch en route to Rye. My partner and I enjoyed the homemade quiche, and we were tempted by the brownies and rocky road for dessert. A measure of a good cafe is the standard of the tea - the pots were large but served with sufficient teabags to make several cups of strong tea - perfect! The Cosy Kettle is obviously much used by locals, but we were welcomed and looked after, it was Bank Holiday and so the two staff were kept very busy - but you only had to ask and they'd be right with you. The place is light and airy with a pleasant atmosphere - I would heartily recommend a visit if you are ever in the area.

My wife, daughter and I were looking for somewhere for lunch. My daughter suggested the Cosy Kettle as she had been several times before. I, initially, was not too keen as I fancied something substantial for lunch rather than light bites in a coffee shop. How wrong was I?! We were warmly welcomed by Nicola and had a very tasty drink to start. My coffee was excellent and the tea and hot chocolate also hit the spot for the girls. I had a chicken and pesto panini, my wife a mozzarella and tomato panini and my daughter a vegetable quiche. They came with a delicious salad and creamy coleslaw and were suitably substantial for Mr. Fatboy Slim! Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

I came for a Sunday breakfast with my wife and child last month and had a very poor meal unfortunately. I had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was tough no hint of being crisp with a layer of unrendered almost raw fat and mostly all barely warm. My kids had the pancakes and were expecting something light and fluffy but they resembled a stodgey scone with no real taste. My wife had a cold poached egg. I dislike leaving a negative review but we were all looking forward to breakfast and at £70 ish not cheap and not worth it. One thing - I had a nice coffee and good service - just very poor food.
