Worst fish and chips ever. Chips are grey and fish is the size of baby's palm. Real disgusting.

Placed an order via Deliveroo. They accepted the order by mistake when they were closed and I waited an hour before venturing to the restaurant to find they were closed but my payment had already been taken. Went to the Corner Plaice later that day when they were open to discuss and was met by a VERY disrespectful young man who was trying to argue with me and claiming I was raising my voice - I wasn’t. Customer service should be that we made a mistake and we’re sorry but instead he was trying to defend what had happened and made out I was being unreasonable. Absolutely baffled. So baffled that I tried to explain several times I had email proof of my order and payment being taken but he wasn’t having any of it. So I have no food and they took my money and were not helpful when I went there to talk to them about it. They offered to give me some food but by then it was 5 hours after I placed the order so funnily enough I’d eaten something else by then. Young lad seriously needs to learn some customer service skills. I asked him how would he feel if he had placed an order for food and had to go to the restaurant after an hour to investigate as app kept saying order accepted and on the way!!! To find they were closed!!!! I had no food and payment had been taken. Apparently I am in the wrong and being a difficult customer. Again, baffled. Madness. Manager didn’t say much and just allowed the young lad to answer me back. Horrid experience and very sad as I have been a regular customer for several years. He even questioned me on that when I told them I was a local and regular customer. Sad times. And the young lad just wanted to argue with me for the sake of it instead of just saying sorry, we made a mistake.

Very soggy batter on are cod which was cooked while we waited. I don’t think we will go again £15 is a lot of money to us.

Ordered chips, a pie and a large cod. Chips were thinly spread out under the cod (Although they were separate and not for the fish (For a picky child). Once I scooped the chips to one side of the box, this is all there was. Shocking for large chips at £3 Cod is very cold, only a slight hint of warmth about it otherwise if think it was a left over or something from yesterday. The pie was piping hot and great. Won't be ordering again!

The cod and chips from this restaurant are ok to be honest but I no good if you like your batter crispy as I do. Their batter is just thin and flat and a bit soggy.

Greeted by an impatient, stand offish delivery driver. Wouldn’t wait for me to make sure my son was safely sitting on the sofa before banging on the door multiple times. More or less slung the bag at me and left. I’d rather he had taken it with him to be honest, it was bloody awful. Cold sausage, cold saveloy, soggy wet chips, flavourless fish in sad limp batter, only 1 of 3 sauce pots arrived and a stale and difficult to eat pie. I wouldn’t even let Katie Hopkins eat this trash.

Really good chips and battered sausage (not the buttered sausage offered on JustEats). You can park on the road fairly near and they were very quick. Excellent fish and chips.

Just attempted to eat rock hard chips with dry cod and hard batter. Just because we wanted home delivery, does not mean we should be given sub standard food, especially considering the cost. Everyone should be served fresh good quality food, not leftover refried garbage.

Been twice this week staff member was very helpful with putting plenty of salt and vinegar on our chips as we asked for. Very quiet around 2pm but would use again

The battery was soggy and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil, the chips were OK, the mushy peas had been watered down more like soup, the fish was nice once all the soggy batter had been peeled off.no vinegar on chips at all even though requested. When we called to explain that we were not over the moon with the order, the staff were rude. I will not be ordering again from here .

I also have had the greasiest wrapping I have ever had in my life ,soggy including the box,carrier bag actually covered in grease ,the chips were hard and some of them were actually not even cut properly (they were circular) ,jumbo sausage and the fish weren't wrapped separately, the business has very much gone down hill QUICKLY i would have to be literally wasting away to eat here again.

Disgusting waste of money! Battered sausage had barely been dipped in batter and the chicken burger was an absolute joke! Will never order from here again. Almost 12 quid for this...

Mushy peas came out like soup, doughnuts were from Asda. The fish was ok and the chips were typical chippy kind. Overall very disappointing.

Worst fish & chips i've ever had!!

Absolutely terrible, given no chips when it's a large portion and costs loads. An added bonus is the chips are cold! Avoid at all costs

We always use The corner place but since it’s changed hands a couple of months ago the food is now of poor quality, greasy and the portions sizes are now a joke. I ordered 1 large cod & 1 medium cod last night and what I got was a soggy small cod and what looked like an over cooked fish finger......Sadly I’ll be going elsewhere from now on 😦

We ordered Large Battered sausages and chips via Uber Eats. Well what can I say. Paper soaked in oil and yes soaked. Then the HORROR of all 3 sausages under cooked!! Did not feel right when cut into it. I'm annoyed and be warned if can happen to us it might happen to you. 🤮🤮 Never in all my life have I ever been given so much grease on the paper you use to wrap foods and then when I cut into my undercooked sausage I yelled to everyone stop eating it and I checked all sausages and they was pink

Have ordered fish and chips for relatives in Folkestone three times from here in past 6 months, and had delighted feedback every time. Was reliably told that the food was very freshly cooked, and delivery was punctual and courteous. Particular praise for the cod!

Ordered through UberEats and was half an hour late. The bigger issue was the tastelessly greasy over cooked food. The fish was greasy and bland, onion rings and popcorn chicken cooked to death and a jumbo sausage that was the most processed piece of meat I’ve ever seen. Half of it went straight in the bin, would definitely not recommended.

Placed an order for £40 worth for the whole family, collected it and after sitting down to eat realised the quality was the worst i have seen for years, dry fish with dirty dark batter, looked like it was cooked hours ago, the sausages were not fit to be given to a dog, and tasted so bad everyone threw them in the bin, the chips were dark, dry and hard. All in all a very bad meal that they KNOW they are giving you, instead of cooking fresh and asking you to wait a bit longer. I will never ever go to this awfull place ever again and honestly do NOT recommend them for any food, other than if you want to waste money and feed your bin !

The lad serving is rude and speaks to customers like something at the bottom of his shoe the food chips cooked in the same oil as the fish which is a big no no won't be back

Used this place a lot but tonight it was awful. You could squeeze oil out of chips. Fish was very small in 2 pieces and soggy. Shame because it used to be very good. Will def go somewhere else from now on. My partner had given V good review before but now does not deserve it. Shame.

We've been visiting this place most weeks since its reopened to deliver fish & chips to our elderly parents who had been missing this treat.We are always greeted with a smile, we've been so often the gentleman remembers our order! A Clean establishment, freshly cook fish and chips which are delicious. This comes fish and chip shop is highly recommended by my parents, who are very passionate about their fish and chips.

MR Singh not only fries great cod, haddock, plaice, skate, huss but also does Kebabs, he is very customer oriented and a very generous shop keeper who deals with his customers like clients, very good services.

ordered 2 pies they were cold in the middle 1 had lumps of grissle in it , large chips and 2 small battered sausages , they put the sausages in the same box as the chips and soaked them in vinegar by the time i got home the batter was soaked and just fell off !!

We have had fish and chips from here on numerous occasions and its always cooked freshly in front of you and they take the skin off of the fish too which we quite like, its immaculate inside and great value for money.

We were passing through Cheriton and stopped here for Haddock and chips. Parking can be an issue in the immediate area. The shop was really clean. The service really good at the counter. Freshly cooked and delicious.

My son uses this place regularly, he highly reccomended trying it. So we decideded to give it a go. We had fish & chips from The Corner Plaice last night, i had haddock my husband & daughter had cod. I must say this was the most delicious fish & chips i've had for years. Everything was freshly cooked, the batter on the fish was light & crisp, the fish cooked perfectly. The price was excellent value.I would say this is the best fish & chip takeaway in Folkestone. I highly reccomend this place, give it a try.

I very rarely do reviews . But i have to for this beautiful PLAICE . I have used it before but this particular evening surpassed all . Hasid the delivery driver goes out of his way to ensure the customers are satisfied with their food delivery. Which has to be the best fish and chip shop in folkestone if not the south east. So order order order its reasonably priced and the food is amazing . Well done guys keep up the good work

Popped in to get food on the way back from the beach. Friendly staff, good value for money and the food was delicious, even the kids had clean plates.
