Lovely, friendly team of staff and absolutely fantastic food, they hosted for our charity curry night and were so accommodating and organised. The buffet was great and all of the dishes were kept warm and refilled, best naan bread I’ve had and the atmosphere was so alive and warm.

OUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE! We love our experience every time :) Such lovely food, full of flavour and the most amazing cocktails- our favourite dish is Neua Yang with sirloin steak! But most of all the best atmosphere and friendly staff! All the staff members are so welcoming and cant do enough to help you! Fahim is our regular server who we love. Also a big thanks to Ragu, Khalid, Reza, Talha , Shuman , Mahbu , Nasin & Bappy, who are a few others that are super lovely too! A big shout out to Jahan who is always there to say Hello and have a friendly chat! So passionate about what he does!!! It was a Particularly special evening tonight when they remembered my birthday and brought me a lovely desert :D We just cant wait for the next tribute night soon! :)

Brilliant place to have both Indian food and Thai food - both menus are amazing and the food is always incredible. Highly recommend the Green Curry with coconut rice and the Choo Chee Goong Yao from the Thai menu. Amazing place to come if your family likes a big mix of food because you can pick and choose from both menus

My recent visit to Lingfield Park Racecourse with my friends led me to the nearest delightful indian restaurant Tarana, and I must say it was an absolute delight! We didn’t book but from the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was inviting, and the service was exceptional - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about their menu offerings. I particularly enjoyed their house special Lamb Shank, which was cooked to perfection and left me craving for more. The quality of ingredients and attention to detail truly made the dining experience memorable. Moreover, the staff’s warmth and professionalism added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. Their recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that every dish complemented the other perfectly. In summary, Tarana is a hidden gem for those seeking not just a meal, but an experience. Awful takeaway. Meat was chewy chicken dish came with bits of fish in it. Lacking flavour. Keema naan had barely any mince in it. Very disappointing. Delivery was prompt.

My family went to the ‘Sunday Buffet’ at Tarana for a treat. Although lots staff about, the service was hit and miss, no-one seemed particularly interested in looking after us. Out of all the 14 food containers, the the only ones which contained any amount of food for a single portion, were those of rice or watery soup. After an interminable wait for more fresh food to appear, it was clear that everything was done on the cheap. The chicken in the red Thai curry was sliced paper thin and was tasteless. The pakoras were just batter with vegetable inside. There was no vegetarian option other than to eat rice, noodles and pakoras. It was almost like the restaurant had run out of ingredients and was eeking out what ingredients they had. A real disappointment.

Lovely food great entertainment. If you want good Indian food and some entertainment this is by far the best local restaurant. We have been many times especially when I lived in Lingfield. The venue is large but also intimate. Staff are great as is Shar the owner.

We had a takeaway from Tarana & had a mix of Indian and Thai food. It was all lovely and I would recommend it & go back. Next time I hope we can eat in!

I'm terrible for writing reviews but after the service we got today, I had to write one. My family are probably a difficult group to accomodate, as we have a very excitable 3 year old, a 5 month old and my mum on a mobility scooter in our numbers. With half an hour notice, the staff were prepared for us all. Our server was absolutely wonderful, always happy to help and the staff very kind and accommodating. It was wonderful to see my little girl so happy to have a cuddle with our lovely waiter (as she's quite picky!), who also showed my 3 year old the fish tank and had a chat with him. They were very helpful when my mum needed showing to the facilities and on hand to help navigate to the table. There was a slight mishap with the access ramp but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The food was delicious, as usual. They all went above and beyond to make our meal an enjoyable one. Thank you to you all, especially our waiter (I didn't catch his name). Outstanding service!

This restaurant is a great place for a night out with friends and family. It Has great food and amazing service.

The quality of the ingredients and freshness is wonderful. So much exotic flavour packed into every dish (I would know had nearly all of them now!) Has been really fun journey working my way thru the menu over the last 2 years. The host Jahan makes you feel at home and very well looked after and the team execute a brilliant service with no mistakes and a good amount of help explaining your questions if you have any! Excellent experience that keeps me coming back again and again, see you soon everybody!

Service was friendly and tentative, food was very tasty and served in a good time, I felt the price was pretty reasonable starters mains and 5 alcoholic drinks and 4 soft drinks came out to £32 per person, we found it quite a rowdy place, you couldn’t sit and have a conversation such was the noise which kind of spoiled it somewhat. The worst part about Tarana is the parking as there is not enough spaces when it’s busy luckily we eventually got a bay. Would we go back? Maybe but unlikely.

Food here is very good Indian. Nothing is too much trouble. We once went to wrong restaurant for Thursday entertainment so we were driven to the right restaurant by them. Thursday at one of the restaurants is usually entertainment. Even if you don’t try this the food here is brilliant. We go regularly and whole family enjoy including children and teenagers really enjoy.

Great night at ABBA tribute ,danced the night away. Food ,drinks and service as always was very good. My only moan is that you have to pay £10 each for a ticket and then diners in restaurant next door can come and join in without having to buy ticket. Apart from that can’t wait till next evening there.

Very good value for money, starters excellent. Buffet food hot and plentiful, sorry no channa masala. Couldn’t fault anything just a tip it’s quite dimly lit where the buffet is and one of our party didn’t see the step down and fell, just a warning. Otherwise excellent

Tarana Review of Tarana restaurant Lingfield , location is very prominent , on the main High Street. The restaurant can be easily be seen on the high street after passing the roundabout as you enter the high street . As you enter the front door , you quickly realise it’s so large in size and very spacious with colourful lighting. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with a wow factor , great ambiance . As you walk through there is lounge bar area on the left to enjoy a drink before you are seated to your table. Tonight we are here to dine and enjoy the Dua Lipa live tribute- singing and dancing so great atmosphere here tonight ! They have a wonderful range of cocktails ( non alcoholic and alcoholic ) with exciting range of drink menu . Great if you’re driving and not in to alcohol , the choice is unlimited unlike your usual typical indian with basic soft drinks . There is dance floor to do some hip hop or just slow , choice is yours! We have been to most of their restaurants and it’s “simply the best” in terms of entertainment/ food and drinks . The prices are very reasonable for what you get from them and service is wonderful with a smile 😊 King prawn butterflies appetisers and king purree , wonderful and nicely flavoured, served with designer chillies 🌶️ and salad . Main courses , Tiger Prawn biryani/King prawn biryani/ duck biryani with side dishes of fresh bindi bhaji / sag bhaji & tarka dall - wow ! Simply mind blowing food 🥘- Average price £45.00 pp is well worth the trip with entertainment included , very reasonable. A meal is never complete without a coffee or indian chai , so for us it was floater coffee ( fresh cream coffee ) A wonderful meal with great food , service and entertainment. 😄It’s a must , if your planing anything from family meal to romantic , business or corporate dinners. Tarana was really nice as we originally booked as group from work but due to a colleague not well the whole booking had to be cancelled few hours before so managed to get away with not the full cancellation cost , so a big thank you for this from all the colleagues. I myself could not let this “Dua Lipa opportunity go “, so joined with some other friends who also booked to join us there, so all was not lost ! 🙂 Hopefully we will make up the numbers on the next visit from work :)

I had a brilliant night out! The entertainment, a Madonna tribute act, was so good. The staff were lovely, and the food was exceptionally delicious! I spent the night singing, dancing and eating fabulous food with good friends. Recommend and will go back soon.

I booked an early new years eve dinner for 6pm.But was called by Tarana at 10.30am asking me to change our meal to 5.00pm. they said they had doubled booked and were very busy . As it was still the season of goodwill, I agreed. It was made clear we'd have the table for 2 hrs. We arrived and the staff did not have my booking. Three different men said to wait. It was disconcerting as it sounded like we didn't have a table .and made to feel unwelcome. Eventually we were seated ...we were the only ones in the restaurant! As we were eating our starters we were told our main was ready , so we had main and starter at the same time. Not ideal. We felt rushed and service was not the best. Wrong food delivered to table too. Still only us and three others in the restaurant. We left around 6.30 and had no thank you or apology for any mix up . And ...the restaurant was still empty ! I feel disappointed as we made a sacrifice to help them out but felt we were not welcome . The food was ok.

Went to pick up my takeaway at the right time, paid and was told there was a 10 minute wait this was at 7.25pmI waited for half an hour then asked again what was going on they went off unheard my name being said and some shouting. The restaurant wasn't busy at this time, nobody came to tell me what was going on. After 40 minutes I asked again they said 2 minutes it was being bagged up.After an hour and 10 mins my food finally came out i was then offered a drink which I declined as all I wanted to do was go home to my family with our dinner! Got home and 1 main and 1 side was missing!! I will never use the tarana in lingfield again. The tarana in turners hill is 1000% better and next time i will travel the 10 minutes extra to go there.

Ordered a take-away Online. Collection was for 6.58pm. Waited for over 35 minutes. Asked 2 different people to make sure they check the order as last time things were missing. Got home and missing 2 items and also received completely under cooked Spring Rolls. Spent over £60, what a waste as have a child in the house and all they like was Satay Chicken and none arrived. Terrible service again and because they let themselves be so busy again the food was not a good quality. Now they wont pick up phone so cannot even report the missing items. Rushed again! Mr Woodd

on thursday i ordered indian food at tarana lingfield,as i came inside the restaurant to collect my food, one of the waiter told me it will take another 5 minute, as i said no problem, as i was standing the same waiter sneezed and coughed and puts both his hands over his mouth but never washed his hands i was monitoring him,afew minute later another guy comes from kitchen and hands the foods direct to him to give my orfer i was so frustated with this waiter who coughed and sneezed on two ocassion and never washed his hands i just left restaurant ,god knows best what would happened if i took thar ored back home,each days and months this place is going down and down before it was a lovely place to dine in or takeaway shame on you mr ashraf who is the owner of the tarana restaurant you might as well close this sort off business if dont have a clue how to run a business

I had booked a table but they seemed to have no record of my booking so placed us right next to another table of people even though the restaurant was relatively empty. I asked the waiter if we could see the Thai menu and he made a sarcastic comment saying we should have asked before we were seated?!! We had to wait ages for the waiter to take our drink order and then again ages before he took our food order. The food was good but the service was diabolical. We felt like we were invisible as none of the waiters even glanced in our direction during the whole visit.

With Vegan January upon us I just wanted to warn any vegans you may sadly not be welcomed at Tarana, Lingfield. I went to order a takeaway here on New Years Eve. On looking at the vegetarian section of the menu I asked the man serving me which options were vegan friendly. To my astonishment he rolled his eyes, held his hands out frustrated and, in a clearly annoyed tone, said 'How should I know' ....'they've all got vegetables in them haven't they?' ...followed by ..'I don't even know what vegan is'. I was so taken aback at this response especially as he was in charge of taking the food orders. So I politely explained that it is important to know, as someone could have an allergy etc. Rather than understanding he said 'you don't need to get angry with me' which was bizarre as I was completely calm. At this point I just said "I think I'll leave it" and left the restaurant. I realise it was NYE and probably an exhausting night (although it didn't look busy at the time) but the end result is that it was actually quite an unpleasant experience. I would add that I have never written a bad review or walked out of anywhere before and I feel sad at having to do both.

The restaurant is spacious and there is plenty of room between the tables. Ones conversation becomes ones own and nobody else’s. The Indian spicy pickles served with the poppadoms are very colourful and delicious. There were 4 of us eating and each of us had a different dish and each of us commented on how tasty each dish was. The service was good. The toilets are very clean and the decor in them is pleasing. Have visited before and will do so again.

Wide selecton of dishes on the buffet and excellent value. Service a little hit and miss but there when you ask!

The restaurant is clean spacious and well laid out, being split into two parts serving Thai and Indian foods. There is a well stocked bar with a good selection of drinks and cocktails available. While it is clean and tidy it is starting to show its age. It is reasonably priced, about average for this type of restaurant.The food is very good and in some cases exceptional from an extensive Indian and Thai menu. On Sundays there is a self service buffet which includes a good choice from both menus.The service however is another matter. On arrival we were seated and as we had elected to eat from the buffet we were basically left to ourselves. It was some ten minutes before we had to ask for drinks to be served as we were never approached and asked. We had to ask for plates at the buffet, we had to ask for spoons for soup, our starter plates remained on the table almost till the end of our meal and we were never asked if we wanted more drinks. In a nut shell the Maitre'd walked around with his eyes shut and took no notice of the customers around him or their needs. The waiters were inattentive and distant, being 5 of them to eleven customers. I dread to think how they would cope if the place was busy. In the end we nearly had to shout even to obtain our bill. There are a good number of good quality restaurants of this type in the area, however this one is going down hill fast where customer service is concerned. It needs to sort its act out. When the owner of the restaurant did enter, he himself made no attempt to speak to customers and appeared to only check the contents of each till. As I say while the food is very good, why pay for service that is at best borderline. Had it been better I would have given at least a four star review.

I can't count the number of times my family and I have visited this restaurant but it's not just because of its convenience to where we live.The food has always been excellent and the welcome at the door makes you feel a valued customer. The whole atmosphere and ambience makes the Tarana a great meeting place and as stated, the meals have been of a high standard and the Staff are friendly and efficient.

It was my first time visiting this amazing restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff so friendly and relaxed. Will definitely return when I’m in the area again. Highly recommend this place and the waiter, Azad, was perfect. Thank you for a great experience.

If you want to spend two hours in the restaurant then it was great but I was hoping for a little quicker service. Arrived at 7pm on Saturday when they weren't too full. Lovely welcome and shown to great seats. The outside seats are all padded curved seating. Modern setting to the restaurant.We got drinks quickly and poppadoms with a fantastic selection of sauces etc. £3.00 for 4 spicy poppadoms and £1.50 for the sauces. We arrived at 7pm and were finally asked for our main order at 7.40pm. Staff are very busy dealing with take aways etc. Our order arrived 27 mins after ordering so we had been there for just over an hour before having food other than the poppadoms. Having been to the Thai side of the resataurant before and having had a long wait, I don't know if it's their ploy that you will just order more drinks whilst waiting!However, the food was really good. Generous portions. Staff doing their best. we were sat near to the main bar area so could see all of the takeaways being brought out and a complaint being dealt with. Pristine white table cloth and napkins but the same as when I ate in the Thai side, they put a runner on the table that lets the table down. See photos. Had to asked for our oil candle to be lit. Fresh flower on the table. Will return again as food was very good but might decide on take away instead unless I really want a slow evening out and not want to return home to watch a film.There is parking in the road outside.

We enjoyed a good value and really tasty meal here. Friendly staff, nice decor, good portion sizes.

Brilliant buffet. Thai Indian fusion Excellent quality and lovely staff, very child friendly. Would recommend
