Good food and friendly staff. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Served promptly and food was very fresh. Would recommend making the short walk from the town centre.

Its a local workman's café. Excellent price and service. I prefer the breakfast bun, though happy with the breakfast in a box.

Friendly staff, well presented and good size helping. The service is very quick. I was recommended by my grand daughter and have taken my young grandchildren there and they love the food and eat all.

The food is always good and usually so is the service. Today, however, an elderly balding man was serving and it made breakfast more stressful than a coach tour of Helmand. He was aggressive, rude and and messed up multiple orders. Before entering again a cursory glance through the window to see who’s serving will be required. Shame, tasty grub.

This is a proper British Transport Cafe and surely a dying breed now, which is a tragedy as the great British (Italian owned) London cafes are also gone too. For anyone not in the know, the differences are thus: eggs cooked properly and traditionally, basted in oil - NOT served in some odd circular shape and over easy. The toast is thick, proper bread - not wafer thin catering slices. The sausages taste good and are NOT supplied from a trading estate in Tottenham. The tea is medium to strong by default - Not served with the tea bag still in a tall thin mug on a saucer. I could go on but you get the picture. Tabloids also supplied!

Very rude lady behind the counter serving - dark hair - didn’t want to be there - so don’t !! No smile , no friendliness. Your not doing us a favour we are the customer - the young girls bringing drinks out were smiling and attentive please take a head out of there book - disgraceful behaviour treating customers with such disrespect

A wonderful historic pub in a beautiful setting. We visited with 17 of us for a birthday celebration. The meal was on a Sunday and their Sunday menu had plenty of choice. The quality of the food and its presentation was of a very high standard. The welcome and service was excellent. The 85 year old birthday girl had a fabulous time! We followed up with a visit on a Thursday afternoon with at least 10 of us. Again, the staff and locals made us feel very welcome. Again, Maggie and her team were great. We cannot recommend the pub, food and staff high enough. Just marvellous!

Prior to going for a breakfast on a Saturday morning, I looked up times of opening 9-5. It was a cold icy -3. We are O.A.P’s. We arrived there a couple of minutes after nine. No lights were on and there were no times on the door. Soon after the lights came on and the staff arrived laughing and chatting. They looked at us and through us as though we were invisible. My husband started shaking as he felt so cold. Then one of the side windows opened and I asked what time they would open. I was then told 9:30. We considered leaving but hoped they would open the doors as to allow us in to wait inside. No they were not compassionate they showed no caring or feeling whatsoever…Inhuman treatment… and no humanity shown whatsoever. They didn’t say good morning they didn’t say goodbye. They just didn’t care.
