Starbucks in Basingstoke and Deane

Stopped for a break on our journey with the intention of using the facilities and grabbing a brew. Facilities were filthy. We were told there was no English breakfast tea……. In a coffee shop??! How is that even possible??!! Surely that’s a staple stock item and you reorder when you reach a certain level! Then we were told we weren’t allowed in with our dog and there was a sign on the door. There was a tiny sign on the left of the door about cctv which, in the bottom corner had a tiny symbol to say no dogs. So upon that and upon receiving such rubbish customer service we went to McDonald’s next door to grab a brew. Oh - and Starbucks was empty too, only 2 customers in and we realised why!

Very empty. Friendly staff member. Tables needed clearing. Toilets dirty. Floor dirty. Very loud music!! Place was empty!

Discusting place. If a Health Inspector had visited the toilets it would have been closed down. We were going to stop for coffee but the place was so dirty we moved on.

It was a beautiful place and a beautiful location relaxing place with the best breakfast in the town and the staff is very kind and supporting

The coffee and iced tea and shakes we tried very thing was awesome highly recommend to everyone how to visit newbury

I attend these services on a regular basis as its on my way to work. The staff are normally very friendly and the seating area clean and tidy. One thing i have noticed over the last couple of cold seasons is that the heating is awful. Management need to get this looked at as the building is cold for a visit and must be freezing to work in.

Stopped in yesterday in miserable rain. Staff made up for the bad weather - all very pleasant and service and coffee was excellent. A bright spot in a grim and wet drive...

DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING,DISGUSTING TOILETS OVER FLOWING WITH VERY NASTINESS, dust everywhere. Children operating behind the service laughed and said it was not their job!! It was the area manager who doesn’t work weekends!! I say children because they were ill mannered, rude and not at all adult in their response to customers. No manager in the building. Total disgrace to Starbucks.

Service very slow and the staff have no customer service skills They are rude and didn’t make us feel welcome We won’t stop there again

what wrong with people in these Places can:t the Manager do there jobs right. Not good when Children go to the loo,

Dreadful place, dirty chairs and tables,floor not been swept and all waste bins overflowing. Avoid this place.

Staff at this Starbucks were very miserable, don’t look like they wanna be there at all. Got our drinks wrong, easy mistake (lack of communication between staff) wasn't pleased to make them again, lots of huffing and puffing. Whilst waiting overheard the manager demanding staff member to run errands, rude and abrupt in front of queue of customers. Tables were messy with rubbish from previous customers Remade drinks weren’t up to standard, should of held on for next services.

Rudest manager (male with a beard) made the whole atmosphere awful felt sorry for the young members of staff. He was patronising to them and rude to us.

I wish I had read Trip Advisor before visiting this Starbucks. Although the food and drink was up to Starbucks usual standard, the place was appallingly dirty. It looks like nothing has changed over the last couple of years. It's time Starbucks intervened.

Starbucks should be ashamed of themselves for allowing one of their cafes to get into this state. Dirty floors with at least a week of grime, uncleared tables and ladies toilet with no soap and a broken hand dried….in the middle of a pandemic! Beggars belief

The only Starbucks that charges for cream on a strawberry and CREAM the strawberry flavour is just poured around the cup total rip off

Driving down the A34, stopped off at Tothill services to get coffee and tea to takeaway. Quick friendly baristas. Everything you'd expect of a service station Starbucks. Good Covid precautions. Only issue is the toilets still aren't being cleaned!

Staying next door at the travelogue so ate here for breakfast. Nice and clean with lots to choose from.

We only come because it is convenient. This time four people behind the counter but half the tables needed clearing. They had run out of normal tea (how can that happen?) and the Ladies loos smelt awful. I think there was a leak. This place is so badly run and the staff take no pride in what they do. Nice building but that is all.

I paid for my coffee, muffin and panini - took the coffee and muffin to a table and waited for my panini to be heated - 25 minutes later, I gave up waiting for the panini and left.

Early morning breakfast.. Bacon roll and coffee...Bacon roll... What bacon?... 3 tiny, wafer thin pieces of bacon, but mostly fat in a dry roll, microwaved.Nice coffee though, with a pan au chocolate... Nearly £9!!!!Dirty floors from night before and french music?..... Will give it a miss next time.

had to clear and wiped my table. 2 other customers and us, 2 young male serving and 3 other staff reading the newspaper, sitting in the corner, which I think was for the customers. hot and stuffy place. asked if I could open the door. had to do it myself no mechanism to hold the door. I blocked it with a chair. tables and chairs available outside but all wet. Still no customers. most tables cluttered with dirty cups and wrappers, no sign of any clearing after 30 minutes. asked to see the manageress to complain. she has been sitting in that corner , reading the newspaper. she was rude, lied and told me she had to deal with a leak which was more important than customer service and if I wanted a table cleared, I had to ask. this lady should be sacked. with her staff. I am 64 and it is the first time of my life that I have asked to see a manager !this appalling situation happened on Tuesday 1 st October 2019 , 14h to 14h30

Probably the most disgusting coffee shop I have ever been in. Stopped for a coffee and my daughter needed the loo. The smell from the toilets was over powering, they were dirty and disgusting and there was no toilet roll in one of the cubicles. Tables were dirty. Service was extremely slow despite there being three people working

Title says it all. For at least 4 months they have a bin and an advert in one of the disabled parking bays. I understand that the adjacent Travelodge has raised this at national level but the abuse continues. AVOID ON PRINCIPLE

We visited on Friday 5th July on our way home. Scruffy appearance slow service most tables had uncleared crockery the floor in the ladies toilets had paper and an empty water bottle on the floor. Badly designed exterior with most people climbing down the gravel bank to enter, somebody needs to look at this.

Right next door I mean. Was introduced to the new toasted cheese toasty, very good with a large capo. And we were off for the morning.

Stopped off on the way to the West Country. Chose Starbucks over McDonalds. Ordered a Latte and two got chocolates. All 3 were the worst we had ever had. Talk about watered down, the coffee had absolutely no taste to it at all....how can you make it taste this bad? Used coffee maybe??Hot chocolate even worse - like it had been made with half a teaspoon full of chocolate in each cup. Just awful.Take away, so no chance of going back.NEVER ever go there - save your cash and go next door.Just the worst Starbucks ever and deserves it’s place as the worst place to drink coffee in Newbury and the locality.

I don’t normally post reviews for coffee shops, as my trips are usually limited to a grab and go flying visit. I thought this visit to Starbucks at Tothill Services was worth flagging up however.

We stopped off for a coffee early on a Saturday morning. It was really quiet at the time. I was stunned at how badly kept the seating area was. The tables were dirty and the floor was dirty too and was covered in crumbs. The toilets also needed a good cleaning. To top it off the coffee wasn't great either... This is way below the standard you would normally expect to get at a Starbucks - disappointing.

Popped in for cup of tea and a flat white. Tables not clean. Tea was served in mug with tea bag in cup . Had to ask for receptacle for tea bag. Toilets clearly not checked very often. No loo roll or soap in Men’s. Toilet paper littered floors. All in all not a pleasant experience.

Friday the 12th of October, mid afternoon. I stopped off at the East Bound Services to refuel and have a sensible rest.

The other recent reviews say it all. We knew McDonalds is unfortunately closed for refurb till 25th Sept, but gave the Starbucks at Tothill a try because that happens to be the geographical best place for us between Buckingham and Petersfield.

Dirty floors uncleaned tables and chairs, appalling toilets. Needing a painkiller I break, we were aiming for McD which wasn’t open, but thought Starbucks would be OK. How wrong can you be.

This place is everything you wouldn't want from a coffee shop. As stated by other reviews it's so dirty I can't work out how the scores on the door is 5 stars for this dump. If you really must stop for coffee at Totthill, use the Costa express machine in the garage.

We stopped at Starbucks en route home from the West Country - we wanted to go to Mac Donald’s but unfortunately it was closed - the queue was very long to get to the ordering point and due to the lack of baristas ( there was only one! ) it took us 15 minutes to get our coffee. Will never return - toilets were dirty and tables had not been cleared. I do not blame the staff as they were flat out just the lack of management.

I stayed in the Travelodge next door for one night and visited Starbucks twice, once in the evening and once in the morning. During the Sunday evening visit, there were two members of staff on shift, one taking orders and one making drinks, which was not enough. When I arrived at the hotel I walked into Starbucks to get a take away drink, but walked straight out after seeing the queue, I went back later on in the evening and waited for 15minutes for a latte, with my fruit toast having to be re heated due to it having gone cold.

Called into Starbucks for coffee I should not have stayed but was desperate 30 minutes I waited for my drink to be made!! Will not ever be going again!

With the McDonald's closed 3 staff were doing their best but as one was a trainee it was painful...no one was expediting the line, there were only a couple of clean tables despite there being only 8 people sitting in. Staff knew the only other sit in venue was closed, yet staffing hadn't been increased. Our fruit toast was barely toasted, yet the bacon butty was so stale and dry I returned it. Our coffee was OK, once we got it. I ordered a drip, but they ran out and had to brew more but after 5 mins waiting they told me they had no pikes place. I had an Americano instead. Will not return.

Travelling toward to South decided to call in and have a break.. 3 staff behind the counter. We seemed to be an inconvenience to them interrupting their conversation. There was not 1 table that had been cleared. Wish I had had ny phone to take a pnoto of it We had to clear one to e able to put our cups etc on it. There were only 6 of us the cafe so not busy. Gave it a very big miss on the way back home today.

Called in at 3.30pm - two staff behind counter, absolutely no queue. Pleasant enough service but the actual seating area was dreadful- at least 8-10 tables uncleared and covered with what looked like a number of previous sittings, floor dirty and lots of food and paper litter around seats, same in outside seating area, poor selection of cake items, mostly sold out so not being replenished. Staff making no effort to clean, chatting and leaning on counter. If this place is being managed it’s being poorly done - why would you bother to call in again, at least Costa has more food at chievley. Need to raise your game here Starbucks!

Stopped for a much needed coffee after overnight crossing from France.service poor not even a good morning, coffee awful, dumped on the counter slopping it down the cup which I had to mopp up.A very disappointed visit, customer service needs addressing.

Driving past the Tot Hill Services, i saw they had a new Starbucks in the old Littlechef building, so thought i'd give them a go.
