I was shopping at Newbury retail park. When I had finished I fancied a coffee so went into Starbucks. When I went to pay with cash I was told that they are cashless. I reluctantly paid with my card. I will not be returning. Costa on the same retail park is always busy and full of life. They are happy to take my cash.

Sooo nice !! Staff were actually very sweet and helpful, very young but definitely working hard. Coffee was delicious and the whole place bright and spacey and clean.

Disappointing visit. Their coffee and chocolate drinks were OK but certainly didn't warrant the price charged. The staff seemed disinterested and the service they offered, ambivalent. Such a shame, as they could do much better.

Started of great with asking the server what coffee was what and what she recommended, I was happy with my order! After that went abit down hill unfortunately. Just looked at me blank like I knew what to do then said oh everything comes over there, I barely go to starbucks so wasn't aware. We sat down where we could easily see it when it was ready. Shouted my mums drink but then proceeded to talk to her friend that was next to the bar ignoring my mum as she went to collect her drink, ended up asking the girl not in uniform can you ask your friend if I could have a spoon please, gave her a wooden one, OK? Then mine came great, then my mums food came great and then mine came! However as she grabbed it, she noticed there was no knife, but the girl walked off chatting to her friends again then when she finally gave her a knife it was a takeaway one? Wheres the metal ones? I struggled to cut it using the wooden, anyways I never leave reviews but I was just so shocked at the service! All girls in their early 20s running the place chatting with mates very loudly. Enjoyed my food and drink just the service that let it down.

Quite disappointed with this store, it was really messy and untidy. Crumbs and bits all over the floor, the sofas and tables. Tables clearly not wiped. Staff were standing around chatting. The wifi also didn't work.

I have been in a few times and always all the tables have dirty cups and plates so you have to move stuff to sit down. Then you don't want to put your bags on the floor as it is full of crumbs and needs sweeping.

Hi went there this morning Sunday the 2 order drinks to seat in I got them as take away didn’t ask for cream on top of hot chocolate but got that out of question for cakes they give knife but no fork it’s nice place nice coffee but need improvement very disappointed really

Lovely building but in afternoons and weekends pretty awful. Seems to be run by a group of teenagers who stand and talk whilst tables are left unwiped and piled with used mugs and plates. It shuts at 8pm but the floor is mopped at around 7pm and you're made to feel as if you need to leave because it's closing. We've had people moo the floor literally around us whilst we were talking. Not on! Attitude behind bar usually good weekday mornings but some late afternoons and weekends can be poor. Not friendly. Slack workers. Not a nice experience.

If you love Starbucks don’t ruin your experiences by visiting this one… Every time I’ve been it’s just gotten worse and worse and now I’ve given up before I lose my love for Starbucks coffee because of how bad this one is Flavourless half full drinks, all of the food is mislabelled, the staff are rude and careless and quite frankly bitter, I’ve never had an order given to me that has been correct

Was visiting the area for a couple of weeks and although the staff were friendly they had barely any stock, which was a common theme every time I came in. No caramel, no pink drink, no soy milk, half the bakery section empty and each time a different machine not working! As a chain I can honestly say I have never been to a less functional Starbucks. Much better to got to Tot Hill and pay the extra to actually be able to get what you want.

I visited Newbury Retail park starbucks on 21/04/2022, 1730ish. I ordered for a latte with Hazlenut syrup. Syrup is charged which is fair. While drinking I did not get any flavour. Later when i asked them, they said they ran out of syrup. Had I not asked, they would have happily stayed as is after charging me for syrup. bad service. Very irresponsible.

Popped into the store last night to get a latte and some ground coffee. The member of staff who was serving was really friendly and the latte was perfect (as usual). I'd definitely recommend getting a coffee here !

Great COVID19 safe precautions, friendly welcome and service by a young man, coffee ok but a little weak and cake dry. However, what really let them down was the unfriendly, surly and unhelpful blonde server; difficult to find such poor service elsewhere! Such a shame when the rest of the team work hard.

Obnoxious and condescending staff. The boy taking our orders was really snooty and impolite. Whilst drinking our tea, we’ve just watched the team leader shout across the store to someone walking towards the bathroom. She also initiated an argument with another customer who was trying to order. These people should not be in customer service nor hospitality.

I went here with my family on the ‘eat out’ deal - firstly we were not given the full amount off our bill - after complaining and very reluctantly I was given a refund - staff rude and incompetent- never saw any cleaning going the hour or so we were there - would not recommend this place to anyone - I shall give Starbucks a miss next time

Well, here i am at 6.20 pm with 40 minutes of the store still open. The Fridges are all covered up so new food then. Got my coffee and now surrounded by chairs stacked on all the tables. The staff clearly just want out of here. Why are they closing down at 6.20? This isn’t the first time that i have been in here and it’s like this. Starbucks in and around Newbury needs a shake up, starting here and then the outlet @ Tot Hill. What is going on?

This is the third time I've been here and on the first two occasions I ordered my cappuccino and asked for it dry among other things, but it came out both times wetter than a latte.Both times I asked for it to be remade to be greeted with grunts and groans and no improvement to the coffee.The last time I went i didn't order for myself, just daughter #1 who wanted a classic hot chocolate with whipped cream, but they had no cream ... They don't offer a discount for not bring able to supply a drink to the menu specifications, which doesn't surprise me but they are quick enough to charge me for a babychino when it states they are free.Not the best or friendliest of Starbucks if honest.

We have been here and eaten probably six times this year and I absolutely rate it. The staff are always happy and helpful (especially the younger ones which I thought might be a bit surley)! The atmosphere was lovely and sometimes there is a big queue but hey that’s not the end of the world, if you want quick service go to McDonald’s (debatable I know!!) We last had an afternoon tea, which was lovely, the only thing I would suggest to put you above everyone else, is to provide a selection of sandwiches you can choose when ordering, I would have an afternoon tea again if I could have tuna or cheese! But I won’t as you don’t. The actual garden centre is way better than Rosebournes which was just a glorified gift shop with restaurant. The selection of plants and outdoor furniture etc is superb. Keep going Hillyers the Weyhill store has really benefited, although some of the Rosebourne staff you still have are a bit on the miserable side the newer staff are far more helpful, you are doing great!

I grew up in Chieveley and was back visiting my parents with my partner on 5th Nov. Hearing that the garden centre had had a new extension we thought we’d drop in. My partner said he fancied something savoury so we dropped in at the restaurant in the older part of the garden centre. We ordered and got sat down, I then went off to use the loo and found another lady in there wondering around and she said there was no loo roll in any of the cubicles. She had managed to get some from the disabled loo and shared it with me. I then told one of the members of staff with a trolley that there was no loo roll and she said she wasn’t sure if it was ‘their’ responsibility. And walked off to check. She then came back to our table to tell me that as she thought ‘they’ don’t have access which I assume she meant rosemary and thyme - at this point our hot roof had arrived - she then told me how they don’t have a key for the cupboard and can’t get to the loo rolls and that I would have to go and tell the staff in the new section as it’s their responsibility…. That would have meant me leaving my coffee and hot food - going out in the rain walking across the carpark through the new bit to find someone to tell….And I thought ok maybe you don’t have a key but how ridiculous to expect a paying customer who just sat down with hot food to go and tell another member it staff?!!! The lady should have just gone over and told the other section when I first told her. Also being a morning and for there to be no loo roll in what looked like 4+ cubicles and not checked before opening for business that day when you’re serving food and drink is just not on. Cost of living makes you really question where you spend on food and drink / treats. It’s just so disappointing.

The food wasn’t good, hard rolls on the burgers, advised this was the type of roll it is, but it wasn’t edible. Staff friendly enough but the toilets really let the place down, they really need a good clean. Shame as I know their food can be good.

Had a beautiful roast in the crown today. In the area for a gathering of friends and visited every day we were here. New manager is amazing and very welcoming, catered to all needs. We will definitely be back if we visit the area again.
