The best fry best fish and chips i’ve ever had. The fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Chips were golden and seasoned to perfection.

I have eaten food from many places but their food is very good and delicious and the best thing about them is that they deliver on time.

Had some garlic mushrooms, obviously not cooked to order, just reheated, full of oil , overcooked. I had a terrible night puking up 🤮

The breaded mushrooms were over cooked and brittle. They just crumbled when I used the folk to eat them.

I have not used The Best Fry for many years and hoped they had improved. I did an on-line order for Haddock and small chips for a timed collection (1 hour notice) I do this in the hope that it is cooked fresh. I arrived 10 minutes early and they said that they were just finishing my order, I said no rush as I am early, I sat down and waited. When the chips were finally cooked they completed my order, but I noticed that they took a Haddock already wrapped up in the warmer and had been sitting their more than the 20 minutes I waited. I got home and the Haddock was only just warm and was very sad looking (difficult to explain but not light and crispy) , poor quality batter which was soggy for most of it and but burnt one end to a crisp. The chips whilst cooked fresh again were not good no taste and poorly cooked. I was extremely disappointed with this meal, and did not eat much of it, for £10.99p it was not value for money. Needless to say I will never be using the best fry again. I had hoped the best fry would have improved but I was so wrong.

chips arrived cold not very happy about that

I got wot I orderd and it was okay, I say okay because i orderd it to be deliverd for a set time because that's when my partner was gonna get home and it was early by 25 minutes so it was a bit ruined by the time she got home.

It was a **** experience and I will never and I mean never be using this place again I would rather wait 3 hrs for the other place to open or walk ten miles in the snow than use them again. 1st del went to wrong address 2nd del took forever have they not heard about GOOGLE MAPS. don’t use them they are ****

Food has no flavour what so ever and the price was a lot for something that didn’t satisfy me or my family.

Absolutely appalled my the lack of care. Tonight, after being accused of ordering something different. They had to cook a large plain sausage. Which when I bit into it, Was stone cold! This has clearly been fried straight from the freezer. With no care if the food is thoroughly cooked through. So I returned and explained the sausage is still raw and I’ve just eaten a bite. No apology other than ‘you saw me cook it fresh’ I received another sausage and my now cold portion of chips back. After a very poor ‘I’m sorry, but you did see me cook it fresh. I don’t know what happened’ I left. I then finally sat down to eat, only to bite into yet another raw sausage. Again stone cold, straight from the freezer. The attitude from the 1st lady who served me, who genuinely accused me of ordering something different. Combined with the concerning lack of care. This establishment needs to reconsider its training on customer service. Also how to thoroughly cook food and serve in to the public! Avoid!!!

Went as a treat.. rubber soggy haddock batter. 2 pieces stuck together. Put me off fish and chips forever.. minus stars given yet so well presented in rope handled carrier bag.. deeply annoyed. We were so looking forward to this.. my review has been very tamed down

Food was alright, same as normal. Unfortunately we were looking forward to the fudge cake but received something entirely different without communication, left disappointed.

Me and my partner decided to treat ourselves to some chips and a battered sausage, the old fashioned way of going in to order. We had no issues with any queue in front of us, ordered a small chips, medium chips with a battered sausage and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. 25-30 minutes later we finally got our order, it appeared deliveroo/just eat orders were more important than customers standing in front of them. 25-30 minute wait is what you expect from ordering on a food delivery app. Chips weren’t the greatest and the battered sausage was alright. Won’t be rushing back for a walk in service

Whilst it tasted quite good they don't know how to prepare a kebab, no cabbage even though I ordered it and they simply laid half a pitta bread in a tray and piled a very meagre portion on top.

Doner meat is fantastic, chips are good quality although expensive for the portion size. Fish is okay but the batter went soft & stuck to the paper. The best value imo is the donner wrap meal.

When the shop re opened it was great really nice, I can't say that now the quality is poor I have experienced uncooked fish and a disgusting fry it, I will be using a much nicer shop in Thatcham

I looked at the reviews and thought I must give this place a try. I wasn’t sure what I fancied. There was nothing on display to gauge what the final product would look like. Had to wait 10 mins for food to be cooked as they said they cooked to order fresh. Chips tasted bland, dried up and tasted like they had been reheated and were covered with black bits. Oil didn’t taste fresh. Fish looked nice but tasted undercooked and rubbery. Staff seemed grumpy and I asked for children’s menu and was handed a flyer like I should know better. Having to dodge all the black bits in my hard crusty chips was not enjoyable. I shall not be revisiting.

Because the portions are so big , I ordered 2 kids fish and chips , even that a far size , chips are perfect and the fish is lovely and fresh , also you get a sachet of vinager, salt and mayo included :)

I ordered cod and chips, small, to go. Waited about 10 minutes before the cod and chips appeared and was wrapped in traditional paper. A member of staff appeared from out back during the wait in full hair net and snood which gave me reassurance that the shop was clean. However, on getting the fish home, the Cod itself was OK but the batter was very soggy with nothing crisp about it at all. I removed the batter completely and ate the Cod on it’s own.. It was a Thursday night so maybe custom was slow with the fish left standing? Price, about £9.50

Not bad tasting chips but absolutely pitiful portion size, £3 for a small chips, appreciate they are a business and need to make money,but give a good serving of chips for that at least!

Arrived early, food was delicious. Only gripe is that I ordered chocolate fudge brownie Ben and jerries, and they sent hagan dasz. Quite disappointed because my girlfriend is very picky and it was specifically listed as Ben and jerries.

Terrible service ordered at 6.50pm said it be 45mins to an hour got to 8.30pm called up to ask were our food was, They came up with different excuses and contradicted themselves said it will be to us at 9pm!! The women I spoke to on the phone said she will refund me which I have not received!!! As I paid by card which If I would of had the cash I would of just gone some were eles and not waited for this delivery....but I had already paid for the order, when it finally arrived at 9.10pm food was cold and they forgot my husband cod so all he had for dinner was cold chips!!! Kids were all tired and didn't want thier cold food what a waste of £37!!!! Absolute joke will never order from this place ever again they say they will refund you and they don't!!! AVOID!!!

The customer service was amazing, and the food just as amazing. The delivery was also on time and the food was still pipping hot. Would 100% recommend.

The food was late and cold, all because the driver could not find my address. The driver called so I gave him directions and still could not find me. I then called twice back to find out what’s going on. Eventually I had my food which was not as nice as the last time a member of my family ordered from best fry. I have not contacted the best fry and probably never order from there again. Very disappointed…

Food good hot but missing an item and also chips with curry sauce didn’t come as per picture so husband couldn’t have any of those recommend you change the picture or serve separately.

Fresh ,hot on delivery, quality meal

5th time I have used them in the past 6 months. The food isn't bad BUT, it is always warm... NEVER hot. I only live around the corner from the shop and am constantly disappointed. I try every month or so, in the hope it has improved...but oh no. It's not even quick service so you would expect it to be hot surely. Last they'll see of me !!

Very disappointed. Received a flyer through the door, ordered online, they cancelled my order so u called and asked why, they said it’s £30 minimum for delivery plus charge. So for small families there’s no point.

First time using, so didnt know what to expect - pleasantly surprised! Lovely light batter on the fish, chips not overcooked, both not greasy (obviously had a little time in drier, unusual nowadays)....all delicious, good bit of fish too! Scampi was HUGE and mushy peas lovely. Will defo be using again.

Very late delivery, food was cold and not very nice. Even though I phoned and they said food had left and we would be getting a free tub of ice cream, and we know the food hadn't left when they said it had as the driver miraculously had the ice cream with him too!!! I couldn't even feed my child the food as it was cold, the beans had chillies mixed in with them but didn't say that on the menu.

First time ordering from the restaurant, and it went above expectations! Pricing is fair for portion size and food quality. Will definitely be ordering again!

First time here today for Delivery, not many places deliver out to me as we are just out of range for most places Food arrived scorching hot, was packaged up well and is was very good, best fish and chips i have had in a long time! Had a bubble tea which i was very surprised to see on the menu also which was great Banoffee pie great too Couple that delivered were very friendly, a nice change 10/10 highly recommend Will be my new usual for sure! (providing they dont quickly change there website to exclude my area hehe) Thank you very much

Good portion size, well cooked and hot. Enjoyed everything.

Estimated delivery time was 25-35 mins. After the 35 mins I went on the app to see where the order was and it said "order delayed" I then had to call up the store for them to say it's still cooking and would be another 30 mins. In total me and my partner waited over an 75 minutes for the order to arrive and very disappointed with service. Would like to think there would be a way to retrieve some of the money back I paid.
