The person on the counter couldn't bring himself to ask me how he could help, or what he could do for me, or what I would like, so satisfied himself by looking at me and saying: "What?" So I left. In Hebden Bridge you only have to walk 20 yards to find another restaurant where they talk to the customer with a modicum of respect. If you feel like paying through the nose for a sandwich served by someone without basic social skills go to Squeeze.

Never been in here before despite living in Hebden for many years. They don't allow dogs if you want to sit in and I almost always have my dog with me. Didn't eat here but I did have an amazing coffee. Double espresso and it was just how it should be, like a kick to the head. If you want water it's from a dispenser and not sold in plastic bottles which for me was another point in their favour. The staff came across as being friendly but professional which suits me just fine. Loads of big comfy sofa so a great place to meet people and natter or watch the world go by.

The food we ordered was ok, but I ordered and paid for chicken nachos and then no chicken was to be found. I always judge a place on how they fix issues like this. Not great. Will not be coming back. If you do go, make sure you check your order. What else are they not serving you that you’ve paid for?

Popped in initially to have a coffee, Then noticed someone next to us eating a lovely looking breakfast. So myself & my wife chose the breakfast stack, When we ordered we didn't know what to expect but when it arrived it looked amazing. Freshly cooked with fantastic ingredients it tasted amazing. Over the course of the week we had breakfast in York, Manchester but nothing could touch this. Awesome & so cheap in comparison to what we had in other places. The staff were very attentive & happy.

We enjoyed our lunch here and the service was smooth and we didn’t wait too long. Plenty of room and a reasonable choice. However, in this capital of vegan/veggie food why do you think it appropriate to charge 20p extra for a splash of soya milk in your tea/coffee? Soya milk in 1litre cartons lasts for many days in a fridge and in this location why charge? I don’t take sugar but others do - you don’t charge for that and you shouldn’t be charging for Soya milk either.

Really love the look of the venue, stylish but also cosy. Food is mostly good. It’s the staff that are the problem. Feel the girls come across as stern and the owner (I think) came across almost aggressive when another customer was making a simple comment. Not a friendly reception and some of the girls appear really untrained and rude. Been hearing similar things locally. Called in here for lunch with a vegetarian friend. The staff were very helpful and adjusted the food to cater for our needs as my friend doesn't like "too spicy" and I can't eat garlic. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend this little cafe right in the centre of Hebden Bridge.

I met my partner in here for a cup of cappuccino coffee, and we also each had 2 of the small Portugese inspired small egg custard desserts for a £, which were a bit different from the norm. On a heavy shower day in the summer holidays around lunchtime there were quite a lot of family groups enjoying the facilities, but the children were all well behaved. it was the first time i had personally been here, a slightly bohemian atmosphere, music on in the background, children enjoying healthy smoothies, and a steady turnover of customers, almost full most of the time. The mainly young staff were friendly and helpful, there were some comfy seats around small tables, and a line of stool type seats along the entrance window. The coffee was good, service was fine, overall it had a nice vibe to it, and is well worth trying out. Other customers were having lunchtime meals, and seemed to be satisfied with their more substantial meals. Well worth giving a try, a bit more trendy than some of the other more traditional cafes around, and family friendly

I cannot recommend Martha, Julian and their staff highly enough. A colleague and I had arranged an open invitation to join us for a drink in Hebden Bridge to celebrate our retirements from the Fire Service. We wanted somewhere that would feed an unknown quantity (we had no idea how many would turn up). Julian and Martha were fantastic. They talked me through suggested times to eat, what food they would recommend and, most importantly, were very flexible about numbers. We initially went with 40 as a possible amount but ended up with around 70/80 on the day.Martha was brilliant and took it all in her stride. People wandered in and out over a period of about 2 hours. Everyone was fed and all very impressed. There was not one complaint (a first in our job). Thanks to everyone for helping make the day one to remember. You don't have to be retiring to visit Squeeze but it certainly helps! (P.S. Have you any part time jobs?)Tommy (retired Firefighter).

This is fast becoming our favourite brunch spot! And in Calderdale that's a tough competition! Squeeze is relaxed and informal with gorgeous smoothies, great food (especially the smashed avocado on toast with bacon!) and EXCELLENT service. And then- to top it off - the best coffee.Love it! Xxx

I absolutely love squeeze, it's so unique in a town full of cafes! The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming! Every time I go there the songs that are playing are so uplifting that I could sit and nurse my coffee (which is also delicious) for hours on end! Well done squeeze you have really grown in the new premises and I can't wait to see what you do next!

We (me the wife & baby) were in Hebden for the duck race. We walked past and saw the menu in the window. (Not many do this anymore)Had a walk round and decided to go back as it was well laid out with room for us to get in with the push chair. Really quick service with a proper cup of coffee. Really nice deco bear brick, pipe work, big station clock and plenty of wood. And we had a (healthy) jacket potato & a quesadillas both were spot on. Help with the push chair and a high chair. More than made up with the visit and will definitely be there again on our next visit. Life is to short for cheap coffee and struggling with the push chair. Make a note if your visiting to check out the excellent hospitality.Spot on.

I rarely went to Squeeze when it was in a smaller unit round the corner but since it moved into a much bigger space in the centre of town it has become a regular haunt. It's all exposed walls, cosy sofas and rustic tables plus decent wifi, It's fully accessible. The service is always good and the duty manager is particularly attentive. I often have the soup which is always homemade, usually veggie and comes with a hefty chuck of bread. Not bad for £4.50. I have also have had the veggie sausage sandwich (£3.95) which was tasty. My partner also had the Falafel Beetroot bowl (£7) which was delicious but it is even better with added Halloumi for a quid. On this trip I had the veggie breakfast (£7) which was well cooked and comes with two sausages, two fried eggs, beans, tomato, Halloumi (nice touch) , mushrooms and toast. Be warned brekkies are only served until noon. I has mug of latte which was nice and strong. My 12 year old usually has the Merry Berry which for £3,50 is nice and thick and packed full of taste. The atmosphere is always relaxed in here but getting a seat can be tricky as it is so popular. Their reinvention has worked perfectly and Squeeze is one of the best cafes in a town full of them.
