I’m not one to leave reviews but this is the worst Indian I have ever had! Its safe to say I do not understand how this restaurant is rated so highly. Me and my partner treated ourselves to quite a large order and we were incredibly disappointed, we couldn’t finish our meal. The Makhani chicken I ordered had such an overpowering taste of coconut which I hate. It is not listened in the ingredients that it contains coconut therefore is why I ordered it. If you are going to add ingredients, list them! I also could not eat more than a few mouthfuls as it was so oily. My partner ordered the Lamb rogan and it had absolutely no flavour and was basically just tomatoes and water. The popadoms we ordered were so stale you could tell they had been out for some time, so were inedible. We also received no dips for them as well! Also the samosas were just like frozen reheated soggy parcels. To top it all off we waited over an hour for this meal.. we had no more than a couple bites of and it was STONE COLD when it arrived. Please don’t waste your money here! Me and my partner have been left feeling quite unwell and unbelievably disappointed.

I live around the corner from this place and this is our go to place for a takeaway on a Friday night. We are always greeted with a smile and the food is amazing! Very quick service. Highly recommend as a place to either eat in for some dinner, or a lovely high-quality Indian as a takeaway.

Ordered delivery a few times recently. Every time has been excellent, really delicious food and very good value for money.

We've had takeaway many times and is always lovley good choices on the menu food is always excellent price is good and arrives in good time. We have now tried the restaurant and it is the best Indian in town. The seats are really comfortable lots of choice on the menu, there was 7 of us all having something different and we all said it was good so whatever you order you will be happy. I had the veggie bararine which was really nice and came with a side vegetable curry which was a nice touch. Portions are plentiful we were all stuffed afterwards! Staff were really friendly and attentive and made the atmosphere feel homely which was really welcoming We had decided to go to the restaurant for a meal out to celebrate a birthday and already want to go again thankyou very much to all the staff we all had a really nice evening great pace to eat in or takeaway will be doing both again soon if you haven't tried it yet you must go!

The guy was rude, food was microwaved. Waste of money. They were literally chucking the cutlery in the table. Not recommended lol

I ordered the food through Just Eat on Mother's day at 6pm. The food was supposed to be delievered around 7.30pm but it didn't arrive until 9.10pm. It was cold and the chicken was tough. Chicken madras had only had couple of bits of chicken in it, it was mainly just sauce. I have ordered from Spice of India many times before and the last couple of times the delievery time was ridiculous and the food wasn't up to a standard which is a shame as we used to love this restaurant.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Ashford, I eat here quite regularly and have never had a bad meal, everyone i have recommended it to have throughly enjoyed it, the owner and staff are always polite and very helpful

Over 1 hour late on delivery. Food stone gold. Naan Bread burnt, just awful. Paid 50 quid for an inedible microwave meal . Shoulda and will stick with Tesco in future

Ordered food on deliveroo, with estimated delivery time of 45 minutes. OK we thought! 1.5 hours later, still no food so we call the restaurant, where the lady says it will be 20 another mins max. Fine. Another hour passes, still nothing! I get Saturdays are a busy day, but leaving us to wait 2.5 hours for 3 items is not acceptable service. Food eventually arrived, and it was cold and disappointing Rest assured we won't be ordering from you again. Thanks

One of the best Indian food spot in Ashford Town. They have the best tandoors I have ever had in UK. Not only Taste, Quantity and Quality too. Food on reasonable price only. The best place to hangout too. Staffs are really polite and quick. Whenever we order from home they everytime surprise us with complimentary stuffs too. Great fan of Tandoori Chicken and Naan. Their Biriyani is also really nice, like eating from India the same taste. Nice work guys. Please keep quality everytime like now.

I've been going here for well over a year now and the food is always delicious. This is probably my favourite Indian takeaway in Ashford. I like to treat myself every now and again to a good Indian the food here is exceptionally good! I also think the pricing is very reasonable they also offer 50% discount at certain times via delivery.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent takeaway experience I had from your establishment. Unfortunately, several issues have significantly marred the overall quality of the food and service. Firstly, the chicken in the curry was notably dry and overcooked, resulting in an unpleasant texture and compromised flavor. This deviation from the expected standard of quality was disappointing. Furthermore, the delivery service was subpar, as the food took over 2 hours to arrive. Such prolonged delays not only inconvenience customers but also undermine the freshness and appeal of the dishes. Regrettably, my disappointment didn't end there. Upon consumption of the Korma, I discovered plastic in the dish, a concerning and unacceptable occurrence that raises serious questions about the restaurant's adherence to safety standards. Lastly, the curries were excessively oily, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. The excessive oil content was not only unappetising but also suggested a lack of attention to detail in the preparation process. As a loyal customer, I believe it is imperative for these issues to be promptly addressed to maintain the high standards of quality and service that your establishment is known for. I kindly request a thorough investigation into the matter, along with appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence. Hands down the WORST Indian food I’ve ever had in my life. First of all, our order was an hour late (which we understand can happen on busy nights, not the fault of the staff). However, when our order finally arrived, we had half the wrong order (which we couldn’t fix as the restaurant weren’t answering the phones). The butter chicken was a weird yellow curry that tasted nothing at all like a butter chicken should - it tasted like some weird baby food (could only eat a spoonful then had to give up as it was actually revolting). We also ordered a cheese naan and got a plain naan instead (that wasn’t cooked correctly). Don’t know how this place has good reviews as this was shocking! We actually feel sick after trying to eat it. Would not recommend.

We have used this restaurant for a couple of years now including a visit. But the last two deliveries have been well short of their usual standards. I do hope it improves again.

Nice find, Lovely food that was full of flavour, generous portions and served quickly. I had chicken that was tender the vegetarian options were also really good which is quite rare. Good meal offers with plenty of variety. Restaurant is small but cosy, nicely decorated with a nice ambience

Had a takeaway (delivery) from the Spice of India last night. It was a large order (£166}. All food was delivered correctly and still hot. The quality of all our dishes was excellent. It's now going to be our goto Indian for the office Saturday night curry 👍

Ordered a takeaway this evening. Hands down best curry I've ordered in a long time. I usually have another local spot but thought I would try something different and safe to say they have a new customer in me. Portions are great size, food was delicious and I am so happy compekerky full watching a film on the sofa. Had a pants day and this has made my evening. Thank you

Went there for the very 1st time after moving to Ashford recently. Thrilled to meet the owners of the restaurant who are from Bangladesh. The environment in excellent with good seating arrangements. The owner came and helped us with the order. Each and every cuisine had been mouth-watering, juicy with the tandoori chicken being tender and melts in mouth. The lamb biryani had an attractive aroma along with the set of kebabs that we had beside the buttery naans and Tarka daal. The restaurant also has take-away option beside dine in which is really handy. Overall, this restaurant is an outstanding one especially, in terms of food. I would be happy to dine here anytime with friends and family members. Timings are 5pm to 11pm , 7 days a week. All foods are HALAL here too. 😍

Cannot say a bad thing about this Indian! We ordered a CTM curry, special rice, lamb biriyani, Papadoms and a naan, and it only cost us £22!! Not only that, our friendly driver was just ahead of the scheduled delivery time. And to top it off, the food was brilliant. We are so full! 😊 Thank you!!

This Indian restaurant is so good not very big, but a great atmosphere. The food is well presented, decent size portions and has all the tasty spices you would expect in a good Indian. The staff go out of their way to ensure you have good evening, they are very respectful and polite. All this and the prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit

2 hours later our delivery has yet to arrive, they’ve disconnected their phone so can’t contact the restaurant- already taken payment, no update or means of contacting them. Don’t care how good the food could be, this is a joke. Imagine waiting 2 hours for food at a restaurant…

After speaking with the manager about our previous experience here we decided to give this Indian another chance. So pleased we did. The service was amazing. The manager even called to say our order would be ready within 5 minutes for collection. The service when entering was great and the food was also superb! Could not fault it at all! Thank you so much spice of India. So pleased we gave you another chance as this meal was amazing!

Very clean and cosy environment, service is nice. We enjoyed a fine dinner at reasonable price. The prawns were not tasteless pre-cooked frozen from supermarket. Masala curry was not as good as the traditional green curry, whick was so good. And also I personally prefer chicken thigh, so I give 4 stars. The bill of both curry dishes, with a mixed vegetables, fried rice with mushrooms, and a plain naan costed £33- Good choice I have made.

Excellent food. Amazing service. I booked for a birthday celebration. They decorated the table with balloons. I took in a birthday cake prior to the booking. The owner lit the candles and brought out the cake. We sang Happy Birthday and he took photos for us. Nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend.

This, unfortunately, was one of the worse Indian takeaways I’ve ever had! The poppadoms were totally stale, the curries was not even lukewarm, but stone cold and completely tasteless! The chicken was as tough as old boots, we had the wrong curry sent etc etc etc… total disaster from start to finish… there was honestly nothing about this meal I could say was good. We tried to speak to the staff to explain that it wasn’t up to the standards of other restaurants we’ve ordered from before and they just weren’t interested. In my opinion this is an overpriced restaurant servicing inferior quality food. If, like me, you know a good curry when you eat one, I certainly wouldn’t order or eat anything from here! I very rarely leave a bad review, but in this instance I make an exception as I really have no choice… from 6 different meals/dishes there wasn’t one that was nice or edible.

This was the worst curry I have had in a long time. The poppaoms were stale, the chicken was dry and my chicken korai had no flavour and was cold. When speaking to the manager it was very clear he wanted us off the phone, with a promise of a full refund. When following this up a few days later he then refused and wanted photos. (was a little late then!) almost like he had done this before. This isn't the first time we have ordered from here but it will be the last. I'm not one to review normally but it just get my back up when my dinner is this bad we threw it in the bin. Reply: Doesn't answer why the poppadoms where stale the chicken was dry and the Korai had no taste. Not once did you ask for photos on Sunday when reporting it for the first time. There was no offer to exchange that evening. My wife was told full refund and the phone was put down. I'm glad that not everyone has experienced the same as we have and long may you continue to be in business. This is just our experience and just wanted to let people know.

This is called the “Spice of India” but I’m struggling to taste the spice. Maybe it’s just because I’m American, but they shouldn’t dull down their spice to appease the English.

It was pleasure meeting Sam! Great food, fantastic ambience and fun conversations with Sam!!!! He went out of the way for customer satisfaction & offered me Indian tea which was delicious!!!! I will for sure go back again!!!!

Great little curry house food is excellent

We went here on our first stop during our roadtrip through the UK. We’re so glad we did, because it was a wonderful dinner! The food was amazing and so flavourful. Sam, the owner was so amazing and welcoming, he even made a mixed plate for us when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to order. Can recommend visiting the place in person, - ordering Take-out obviously gets you delicious food, but the service was excellent as well and you wouldn’t wanna miss out on that! We felt very welcome and overall it brightened our visit. As soon as we’re back in Kent, we’ll be coming back!

I've been using these guys for years. From when they worked in former restaurant. Always been pleasant. Tried a few other Indian restaurants but they have never come close to the food these guys make. Of anyone wants and Indian food then give this place a try. Polite and great food.

Was walking past on sunday and asked wether the restraunt was open as the door was open with open sign - only to be greeted by a sullen curt remark by the man cleaning the windows - infact closed door on me.... Excellent customer service I must say I can only imagine about the service for food Not setting foot on here again ..... [ I had a nice meal at nearby Nepalese restraunt ]

Tasty food, great service and very competitively priced.

The food is really good and suited us immensely. The service in our (group of 4) opinion needs work as we've had hospitality roles ourselves and know it can be done better. The server was very friendly, no doubt about it but needs some light improvements. We all agreed we'd definitely have the food again and would even order it to go if we were back in the area again.

It is a very nice restaurant situated in the downtown of Ashford with quite environment and light Indian music. It is an ideal place for Indian spicy recipes, especially for South Asians.

Lovely meal delivered to us, the guys were really friendly but we waited in total around two hours, phoned several times and was told that the driver had tried getting in contact/knocking but we have a ring doorbell and our number didn’t ring once, full signal. We understand that these things happen and are very easy going people, however upon complaining by email, no response was ever made back to us which left us feeling unheard and disappointed. Communication and transparency is as important as good food. Shame as this could be one of our go-to takeaways!

Been to this restaurant several times and was a regular when the guys were at Singleton before it closed. The food here is amazing and the staff very polite friendly and accommodating. Had not visited this restaurant for some time, but as we like a curry thought we would return. We took advantage of their half price menu on a Tuesday night.the restaurant is very comfortable and cosy, this is complimented by the huge selection of choice on the menu. The portions were fantastic as was the taste. We received very good service and for the price it would be hard to beat. In all it was a nice evening, we will return

I have been buying from these guys since they were at Singleton going back 25 years the food is amazing and I was upset when singleton closed - so to have the same wonderful guys now in the town centre is a win win - the food is absolutely top notch and I will not go anywhere else the customer service is unbeatable and the quality of food simply beautiful - I have tried other restaurants but you get what you pay for - give this restaurant or their take away service a go - you will not be disappointed! Cannot recommend enough !!!

Ordered a chicken corma with rice, the chicken had red stuff all over it, textures was nothing like the corma which I normally have, going elsewhere to get Indian, the waiting time is sometimes almost an hour as most….
