A lovely quaint pub with character set back in the outskirts of Reigate. Food was really good however service seemed to be ‘abandoned’ when we asked for the desert menu as the lady of the house never came back to us for ages so we left without.

I had a Sunday roast here. The portions are large and tasty. The pub itself is hugely atmospheric, with a real fireplace and low wooden beams. The staff have fun working together and chatting with customers, making for a welcoming vibe. Setting is beautiful, surrounded by quintessential British countryside. If you're lucky, you'll spot a wild horse wandering up the pub's driveway!

Used to be really dog friendly but unfortunately now they’re only allowed in the conservatory at the back? (No music in there, fluorescent lighting, not cosy like the pub part). Really rude lady who told us “you need to move” after we took a free seat in the bar. Felt really unwelcome and spoiled a lovely walk, wouldn’t recommend.

A lovely pub off the beaten track and nestled away in Reigate. Not a drinkers pub by any means but a classic old style pub on the inside with a log fire and a huge range of brilliant meals on offer ranging from sandwiches and toasties (with proper homemade chips) to full roast dinners, burgers and fish! Has some wonderful walking opportunities on their doorstep for when the weather improves. We settled for an extra beer instead due to the torrential rain we had for our visit.

A real gem of a pub and the front of house staff were lovely. Unfortunately the food was terrible, frozen, deep fried brown food, tasteless, poor menu choices.....I thought I'd been in a time warp to the 1970's. Needs a new menu, freshly produced dishes and probably a chef. Also on a Saturday at 8.30pm we were the only ones in the whole pub? Such a shame for such a great location and historic pub 😕

For £19 for a beef roast it's slightly on the higher end for a roast, but as you get unlimited roast potato's and cauliflower cheese included in the price, plus plenty of meat I think the price point is fair. I used to come to this pub as a teenager and remembered it for its sunken heads and taxidermy 👍 Fast forward 30 odd years and we have rediscovered this gem of a pub (thankfully minus the odd nik naks!!) Every single time we have been here the food has been amazing. It’s hearty pub grub done well. Today we had the roast, me the nut roast and my partner the beef. Both beautifully cooked, plentiful and piping hot. Nut roast was superb.! Special shout out to the lemon and ginger cheesecake. Now that has to be the best I’ve ever tasted, I could eat it everyday. I’ve previously had the fish pie, which totally lived up to the hype and the fish and chips ditto! I did read the hygiene rating in the local rag and was surprised as I’ve never noticed any problems. But anyhow, you know the best time to visit a restaurant is straight after a hygiene review 👍👍

People used to go for a pub lunch because it offered quite nice reasonably priced food in a pleasant atmosphere. These days, going to the pub to eat has become a luxury - and so I’m expecting something better than this. The place is quirky, old-fashioned and charming. The food is very average indeed - like you’d get from a pub in the 1980s. Except these days a few tiny very expensive soft drinks and a very basic meal for two adults and one child costs £50 for lunch. I spent the whole time thinking I could have bought three huge steaks and loads of vegetables and eaten a banquet at home for less money. I’m going to be much more selective where I eat in future. Pubs have got too expensive and most are now unsustainable.

My brother and I would sit outside with crisps and a drink. On this nostalgic visit, we chose a homemade pie, chips and veg for our early evening meal, which was plentiful and delicious. Cathy, who served us was delightful and took time to chat to us and seemed genuinely interested in hearing of my visits as a child. Just a couple of minor gripes....service was sooooo slow, we had only two courses and were in there for over 2 hours, most of that was waiting for orders to be taken/food to arrive etc. There were 4 options on the menu for sunday lunch: Beef, Pork, Chicken and Nut Roast. No Nut Roast or Pork available, which are the things we wanted to order. Just a bit disappointing and baffling as to why, as this isn't the first Sunday Lunch service Skim Castle has ever done, so surely by now they have some idea of whats popular and how much they need to order in?
