Silver Spoon in Reigate and Banstead

My partner and I enjoyed having breakfast here with my bro-in-law & his wife this morning (they’d not visited beforehand). We have been visiting his local café regularly for three years and the staff always remember us with a genuine smile & warm welcome. Their mega breakfast is delicious but they have such a super menu selection you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to just having breakfast! Recommended as it’s good value for money. The only downside is how popular it can be, meaning finding a table can be pot luck on a busy Saturday morning. Thankfully we grabbed the last available table this morning. Thank you to the Silver Spoon team.

Great cafe which we use at least once a week and where the food and service is always excellent. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

As a local, I had walked past over the last few years – but never visited. Today decided to skip breakfast at home and visit Silver Spoon before, visiting a friend at local care home. Arrived 10.40am, was offered pot of tea whilst I select my food. After waiting approx. 50 mins to order my food decided I could not wait any longer. Can’t comment on the food as no one served me! Told waiter and thought as a gesture of goodwill I would at least get a free cup of tea. Sadly, no such luck. When I left approx. half the tables were empty. Glad I was not there when it was peak time!

My first visit to the Silver Spoon and I have to say, what friendly staff we encountered. We were greeted as we entered and allowed to chose where we wanted to sit. As we picked up the menus. we were asked if we would like a drink, our coffee was soon brought to the table. Having made out choices for lunch, we ordered and the meal came out, hot and well presented on the plates. At no time were we hurried, even though we sat there at the table just chatting.

I cannot comment on the supposedly poor quality sausages previous reviewers have posted, since I never eat anything other than quality sausages from a locally based organic butchers where you know the name of the farm where they were sourced: I can, however, say their bacon, bubble and poached eggs is first class, and their chips are always crispy, tasty and freshly cooked.

Disappointed. Diner looks so nice from the outside. Today we decided to go with our 2 year old grandson. He had fish chips and beans. The fish was grey inside and it tasted really was awful. My husband added two sausages to his 3 egg scrambled egg ( 3? more like 2 small) and the sausages were simply cheap and tasteless at £1.30 each. Luckily, you cannot go too wrong with a poached egg on bread so my lunch was ok. The person I complained to was arrogant instead of just simply apologising. I had to ask for the bill to be checked as to me £17.50 was too much for two adult meals and a child meal but was told that other places charge £30 for a two person meal so their price is good in comparison. If you think charging this amount for poor quality food to serve customers is ok then you are sadly mistaken. I will ensure my family never go to your diner in the future.

Great looking cafe, clean and bright. Makes good tea. However, very expensive for what you get which is 'super economy' poor quality sauaages (at £1.30 EACH!) and fish fingers. The toast was nice, but then again the '3 egg scrambled egg' must have used three of the smallest eggs known to man.

I live locally in Nork and hadn’t visited this cafe for about ten years, until today. It is a gem - friendly service and tasty food. Two “mega breakfasts” with toast & drinks for under £18 = good value for money. My partner & I won’t leave it quite so long until we visit again. Highly recommended.

I cannot agree less with the deluded review posted below: on the visits by my wife and I we have always received a warm welcome, good choice of meals available (which they are happy to amend if asked) very reasonable prices, speedy and personable service.

Worst food in epsom, cannot believe they call themselves a restaurant. Found Two hairs in my food!!!!!

Back to its former glory: my wife and popped out for a late breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate.

After an early morning trip to the downs, this cafe is exactly the right place to go! Cracking breakfast, no complaints about service, and a very unique interior, feels a bit like an airplane!! The outdoor sheltered garden is very nice as well! I would definitely recommend :)

A welcome return to this cafe, but as the title posits, not as good as our last visit: service and speed, as ever, excellent plus value for money. The quality of the food, however, was not fully on point as before, but no doubt due to the huge turnover of customers due to the nearby Epsom races. Would we return:,absolutely yes.

Visited for first time.on Thursday. Food cooked fresh..waitress very friendly. Recommended home made cake...which was divine. Definitely will be visiting again.

On my way to Tattenham Corner station for the train back to London after a nice ramble from Kingswood with lunch at Walton. Really fancied a cuppa and cake - and would MUCH rather support an independent cafe than a 'chain'. No problem - tea served with a smile and a choice of 2 cakes. Chose the choc fudge: wow! Filled a hole nicely. Not local but would gladly return if in the area and sample something else from the menu.

We tried our usual ‘go to’ cafe first (Drift Bridge Cafe, Banstead) but were incredibly disappointed to see it had close permanently, so drove back nearer home and revisited this cafe as we have had some lovely breakfasts/brunches in years gone by, and it was a resounding success: good CV19 protocol and all staff wearing masks, and my wife and were throughly impressed with the quality of the poached eggs (yolks nice and runny, just as we like them) and accompanying chips/bacon, bubble and squeak etc. We will visit again, but sooner rather than later.

Best milkshakes and excellent food staff are welcoming and friendly. Quite surprised to see the last two passive aggressive reviews below about covid safety because I am someone who has been skeptical through the pandemic and tried to keep an open mind but it was hard to. On my I was actually comfortable with the safety measures they have in place.Some people are genuinely petrified of covid. But,those same people wouldn't be in a cafe eating either. I wonder why they was really unhappy because I don't think it was really about the safety measures. People should not be allowed to leave blatently spiteful reviews.

I absolutely love this place, both for the food and the staff. But I did not feel completely safe in there this week. They have the sanitiser at the entrance which very few people used. The menus are used by all customers ( no disposable ones) The staff did not wear masks and did not keep their distance. And they did not take our phone number for track and trace purposes. Sadly, my husband and I will not be returning until they practice better Covid safe methods or a vaccine is found. I shall miss it.

Great food, friendly & helpful staff. However, customers arrived without masks or bothering to use the hand sanitizer at the door. Staff did not wear masks, Menu was in a non disposable cover so not sure if it was disinfected. No Contact details were taken from us, nor anyone else that entered the cafe. Whilst we have, in the past frequently eaten there, we did not feel that 100% 'safe'.

Sat for 15mins before my order was taken and was ask what hot drink I was having and that was it then sat a further 10 mins for a tea to arrive, still my order not taken. One girl doing all the orders and bringing out the food.Used to go for takeaways quite often not anymore. It's not the poor girls thought but the management for not helping her out, more hiding behind the counter expecting her to run around.

American diner serving breakfast,lunch and dinner on Saturday or Sunday(or up to 6pm on other days.),typical red plastic seats and with rectangular cafe layout. Reasonable parking around with station having a large car park.Service is attentive and food fine for the market it is aiming at albeit not “fine dining” I go fairly regularly and am choosy so it must be ok--try it.

Typical red seated American diner with excellent food and service. Breakfasts and brunches are very tasty but roasts not so unless i was unlucky. certainly worth a visit even if only for a coffee.

Absolutely outstanding service from Jess. Very busy with lovely old ladies, small families, my autistic son and the obligatory swearing racist builder with his mates. All handled with professionalism way beyond her years. The food was every bit as excellent as the service. A pleasure to eat here. Thank you Jess.

This place never disappoints. Go in there most weekends for a breakfast and can’t speak highly enough of both the food quality and the service. Always very friendly, food cooked fresh and is piping hot and the kitchen is on display and always clean. Don’t bother going anywhere else now!

I travelled here after reading the good reviews and was not disappointed. In summary: - Plenty of choice on the menu - Amazing breakfast - Huge portion sizes - Fast and friendly service - Very good value Many thanks guys- will be back!

My friends and I have been eating here for a few years now. It feels like a family run restaurant, the food is good wholesome food, and very good value.There is a very good breakfast menu including full English. Lunch menu has something for everyone including classic dishes such as liver, bacon and onions with gravy. I tend to have the Chef’s salad or salmon salad, both of which are a substantial meal. Very nice apple pie and cherry pie or various ice creams for sweet.It is always very well prepared and cooked and the waiting staff are genuinely keen that everything is okay for the customers.I thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you like good food, well served, for a reasonable price.

Lovely cafe by Epsom Race Course. Staff are lovely, food delicious, prices very good. What else can you ask? My Chilli Jacket was delicious, just enough chilli - most can be lacking in bite and flavour! Will be coming back time and time again.

We visit here quite a lot and always have an all day breakfast, the food is superb, plenty of it and the service is great. It's clean and friendly and is always busy, the food is served in a timely manner. This s is probably one of my favourite places for breakfast or brunch

Meet our daughter here for brunch on Grandparents pick up the kids day Thursdays. Been 4 times now, always good and generous portions. Great tea and coffee too. Jackets really good and make up your own plate of breakfast a firm favourite. Thoroughly enjoy the food, the friendly staff and the atmosphere. We know how to live

The food here is good but the helpings are huge. If you ask for a small portion you are told they are all same size. The service is excellent and staff are friendly

Although a 20 mile round trip for me, this is well worth it for value and courtesy. Food by no means "posh" in presentation but who needs it when portions that are substantial and in some cases enormous. Cannot fault the place for a good hearty breakfast or lunch.

Staff are friendly and food is good can be a bit squashy as in if you are a large person like me sitting on the bunches u might find it a bit hard but is ok other wise

Within 10 minutes of grabbing a booth the diner was full! Spotlessly clean! Amazing belly busting brunch - didn't need to eat again all day! Staff all super friendly! Great value for money. Love this place, shall definitely return & highly recommend.

Food is nice. Staff are friendly and the service is quick. Its always busy too which is a good sign that they know what their doing and do it properly.

Visited on a cold Sunday mid-morning, having been recommended by friends. Parking is available either on the road or close by in car parks - minimum restrictions on Sundays, 2 hourly or so during other times. Arriving at 1100, just in time for brunch. The menu is extensive and caters to all tastes and appetites, both young and old! Please note that this is actually in Tattenham Corner of Epsom Downs, rather than just Epsom as the address suggests - if unfamiliar to the area, head towards Tattenham Corner railway station and follow the road up from the station. First impressions were clean and inviting, laid out with the tables at the front and the kitchen at the rear, open to see cooking and the area to wait for takeouts. We were greeting warmly and shown to a suitable table. We made our choices from the menu - covering all day breakfasts in various forms, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and much more to discover. The children ordered a lasagne with extra cheese and the standard nuggets, chips and beans!! Us three adults ordered a variation of breakfasts, with the choice to add or subtract items as required. The milkshakes ordered by two children and one adult pretending to be a child were frothy, large and very tasty indeed - making the remaining two adults very jealous! The food came along quickly and steaming hot - digging in by all of us and soon after clean plates all around!! The toilets were immaculate and modern and after this, pudding just had to be ordered. The children enjoyed ice cream and carrot cake - BEWARE, the portions are very large - so at the end we had two very satisfied children indeed!!! The bill came to £42.50, not bad for three adults and two children, and a brisk walk over the nearby Epsom Downs beckoned in order to digest all that lovely food!!! Will recommend and return soon!!!

My Son and I came to the cafe for lunch at 1pm. Got a table straight away, prompt service with a smile. Ordered strawberry milkshake and tea, then 1/4 cheese and bacon burger with chips plus onion. My Son had sausage and bacon baguette. Very generous amount of food on plate, very quick to get food and it was hot! They have a varied menu, plenty to choose from. A bustling friendly and nice establishment. Good value for money, will go again sometime.

A small cafe serving excellent all day breakfasts, plus a good menu to suit all tastes and pockets. Easy parking a few minutes walk away, free for two hours, or on road if spaces available

This place has been consistently great with its food, service and cleanliness. Staff are very friendly and attentive and even in the busiest of times attention to detail is superb.

Brilliant family restaurant, huge meals that will negate the need to eat for the rest of the dayService is prompt and unintrusive. If you are there early enough there are newspapers available.

Just opened a Business across the road from this place and it has now become my 'Epsom Office'Fantastic, well priced quality food at Northern Prices.....Makes me chuckle that all 'posh' Surrey still go in for a proper Full English.......Guess my cholesterol is going to be going through the roof!

Family business who also run fish and chip shop across the road.First class service. Super friendly staff who always make the customer feel valued. Food is excellent, fresh and well cooked.Portions are large. Excellent value.

We always have a breakfast here. Price is good for the serving. They have a lovely and attentive staff. Tables were clean. They have a wiFi too. A lot of people comes round here so I guess they're great restaurant. There is a big tele that keeps running for the costumer to watch and a news paper to read whilst waiting for the order to come but waiting does not take long.

Me and friends went on a Sunday morning after a heavy night before, I been several times. The menu choice is perfect and the quality and quantity of everything is spot on. Friendly staff, and good service. Lovely place to spend Sunday mornings

Breakfast they can't mess up but avoid main meal menu. My friend had cottage pie off menu. It was awfull. Stone cold in the middle, just fried off tasteless mince with a ton of mash on top. Watery frozen veg. Was not charged for it. Once again avoid the main meals. They are crap.

BEST CAFE AROUND... Food is amazing , staff offer great service and are quick and attentive , i have nothing to say to fault this place , have been on many occasions and is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast/lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been there several times, both on my own and with my Cousin who travels down from St, Ives in Cambridgeshire. Generous portions of Well Presented and Cooked Food. The Staff are very Friendly, Hard Working and Professional. Excellent!There are 3 other Dining Premises within 100 yards but they do Not have a Patch on The Silver Spoon!What a lot of people don't know is, that there is an Enclosed Garden area at the rear of the Cafe, which is Heated!So if you look in the Front of the Cafe and it is Full Up, just walk straight through the Front Door and Eat or Drink in the Heated Rear Garden Area.It is also 10 out of 10 for Cleanliness!Try It And Enjoy!

Absolutely the best! Friendly staff, good portions, varied menu with all dishes being well presented.

This cafe restaurant is a must. The cafe is very clean and there is free wifi.The staff are very friendly always smiling and very quick to serve you.The breakfast menu is very large as is the lunch menu.The food is cooked to order so is very fresh.They are open on all bank holidays so if you are in the Epsom area keep that in mind. You can park free of charge on the mound car park Tattenham Corner.

Always very busy great food terrific staff great value for miney will always give you what you ask for,do not rush you out only problem too close to other diners.

It is a busy little diner, serves all sorts from workers to the elderly, I often have meetings in there and just have coffee or tea whilst ogling the lovely food being delivered to others. The staff are always very helpful and you can watch all that is happening locally through the big windows

Staff are rude and unhelpful and haven't got a clue what going on to busy chatting to each other Food was awful we didn't even eat it was undercooked We won't be back and I be telling all I know how nasty this place is Rude rude rude!!

We visited this cafe on a Sunday morning, 16 of us, adults and children, all family. We sat on 3 different tables due to the size of our party. The food was excellent and service fast and efficient. The lovely lady who took our orders kept smiling even when several children kept changing their mind! The cafe itself is very clean and always seems busy when I've passed since. We would definitely return.

I have had quite a few breakfasts here and lunch on occasion.Always plenty of food and its good too. Its only a year or so old but the décor and seats are getting a bit tatty - from so much use.Well worth a visit - and open at 0700!

The two times I had breakfast there I had to complain about a hair in my food I forgave the first time but the second was enough they apologies and said sorry with no charge but that was enough for me !!

Always good and the portions are very good. Service also good and it has been reasonable busy every time we have gone. Now the only place I go for a late breakfast or lunch. Could do with a few seat repairs.

We have eaten in this cafe a quite a few times over the last couple of years. The food always comes out hot and generally it's a decent Al round cafe. The staff are nice too!!

Can't fault the food , shame the place is let down by miserable waitress who is so obviously unhappy in her work, verging on Basil Fawlty service style , which, in all fairness was quite entertaining at times , if you want a decent fry up and aren't bothered about service with a smile then it's fine .

As a regular visitor (usually after a heavy night out) the fresh décor and excellent quality of food is a welcome change to the usually run down and poor quality of many of the other local cafes. Top marks

We use the silver spoon at the weekend for breakfast. The kids love it.its a very popular place and it can get very busy.Great food ,quick service right near the race course

Food tastes great don't get me wrong but the prices are awfull 7-8 quid for a breakfast anywhere else that would cost under 6 with a cuppa it's because of the interior design they feel they can over charge only reason I go there now is because I'm to hungover to drive or I just cba to travel to Epsom where you will get a decent size breakfast for the normal price the milkshakes are lovely but there 2-50 I think put it this way break and a drink you won't get for under 9-10 quid and I rather go to get dinner or lunch for the price of this cafe like I say the food is goodscrambled egg avoid it's soggy and tasteless bread is proper thick cut bread which is pleasant cups are stained though. Toilets clean but limited room inside if your of normal build. Parking is good the car park is free for 4 hours next to the station which is cool

Love this place. Variety of breakfasts, that run all day long. Very well run, considering how busy it normaly is. Friendly and cheerfull staff. Very popular, but u are served veey promptly. Strongly recommend.

The best cafe in the area. The full english is amazing. Modern decor and great service, what more do you want.

We were offered a meal by my sister and her partner at one of the restaurants around the race course, but we turned them down in favour of the silver spoon as you are never disappointed with the food, quality, service, value, cleanliness and atmosphere. Oh and the lovely Big pots of tea!!! They have a very varied menu but I do love their big jacket potato with cheese and beans and salad garnish for a fiver!

All round excellent: great food at reasonable prices, nice & clean, very pleasant little garden. But the thing that really makes it are the staff - they are delightful. They always make a fuss of my son (aged 2) and are family-friendly.

This place is just round corner from us and was a lovely find. The food is nice and fresh.and the cakes are awesome. Or just have a cup of tea.staff friendly and prices good.

We went here before a trip to London Fast service, nice food, large portions all at a good price. The only complaint is that if someone sits in the both behind you your chair moves every time they do!

Came in today, had bubble and squeak with fried egg and a fried slice. Was freshly made and delicious. An in-expensive place to eat, will definitely return.

We've used the café since it opened. Great 50's style interior. Very clean. Great service and food. Very reasonable. We have our team meetings, kids parties, lazy Sunday brunch, you name it. Outdoor seating at the back. You can see the kitchens and they are immaculate.
