Went to try out the new vendors and food is so good. Yeastie boys pizza was a personal fav and a must try!

Always great food and atmosphere. Service isn't always fantastic BUT it is always so busy they have a lot on. Goat tacos were incredible!!

Great music, great oesters, great vibe! It was the perfect way to spend the bank holiday afternoon and enjoy the weather. Deffo don’t neglect sitting inside and have an explore!

Love the concept of Shelter Hall - great place to go with a large group of friends as you can order individually and choose from various cuisines. Food has never disappointed. Great setting right on the beach. Returnee customer for sure.

A trip to Brighton always includes a visit to Shelter Hall. This must be my 4th or 5th time here now, and the service and food is always on point. Reasonably affordable, and good for lunch, dinner or drinks. Beautiful in summer with the outdoor seating by the sea.

Food was incredible lots of options however when ordering our drinks came way after the food and only because we chased them which is a shame as it wasn’t busy in there.

As ever, an enjoyable group experience at Shelter Hall. When it's busy it's so loud you have to shout at each other to be heard. Drinks took way too long to arrive. First food arrived before the drinks did even though the food was ordered after the drinks. Food was excellent. One thing, please for the love of all things .... please .... give the plants on the mezzanine some water or we'll call the RSPCP for cruelty to plants. We gave a few of them water ourselves! Thanks ;)

Shelter Hall is great! The idea behind is that there are multiple restaurants in one hall so you find a table and order from your phone, meaning everyone can have anything they want without arguments (someone wants pizza, someone else wants Mexican etc). Been here many times and my only complaint after the last visit was that Patty Guy had left and the burger place that's there now didn't match PG's burgers ☹️ The views are great, the atmosphere is great, the food is (mostly) great!

Food options are good and the service is actually very quick once you get used to ordering on the app. It is disappointing that they do not allow standing drinking outside even if you have a table reservation. Quite restrictive.

Great mysic, love the DJs. Staff really efficient and accommodating. Very small food portions for the not so small price.

Lovely place to enjoy a variety of different foods. There’s something to everyone’s taste and the service is very fast. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the sea view is an added bonus.

DOG FRIENDLY!!!! This place was on the list to try as you get to order from different menus to your table!! Me and my partner ordered separately so was a bit annoying that you get a £7.50 service charge each. But the food was nice but did notice all the chicken was thighs instead of breast personal preference I had the burger which was great but ordered seasoned fries but we're covered with cinnamon which was odd. My partner had the beef brisket which tasted like pulled pork. But pudding was great from Julian plumart 😘

Hate they police it so much. Can't just walk in and find friends you have to be escorted. I hate that it's all remote ordering and the quality of food has really deteriorated over the years. Jazz Music was brilliant though.

Great food hall. We were a party of eight, becoming ten, and were seated easily and efficiently by the host despite not booking - one great advantage of a food hall! Kids and most dietaries catered for. Food and service were superb with several staff checking in on us during our visit. Will definitely be back.

Great food and drink. Loved the atmosphere and the staff are fabulous. We came for a birthday lunch and received a lucky dip for a free item, won a free dessert which was amazing! Great to try lots of new things and have a variety of foods for everyone.

There’s a great selection of food stalls here, with something for everyone. It’s good fun with nice vibe, just a little dark and noisey when we went, couldn’t really hear my partner haha. The three pigs Greek was immense, really really good and I highly recommend it! The chicken was perfect, juicey and charred, with the best tzatziki I’ve ever had and some banging chimichurri too. The bao were good too, fluffy and fun, especially with sriracha mayo that makes everything better, but the nachos from the Mexican were just alright. It’s a good spot for a bit of fun, but the food is ultimately hit and miss with what you order. There’s a bar which has some good options too, and it would be great for big groups to just order whatever you want and feast!

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the dishes we got, especially given the lower price range. There was a live jazz band which provided a great, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I had the absolute worst experience at Shelter Hall Brighton. I was ready to spend money on shots but was rudely denied entry. They assumed I would just use the restroom without paying, which is not only insulting but also discriminatory. Their attempt to shuffle me off to a "free" pub was patronizing. I was even willing to order shots immediately to demonstrate my intention to pay, but they remained dismissive. To make matters worse, they sent a staff member to watch me take two shots and then demanded I leave the premises! As a paying lunchtime customer, I deserved better. Being told I "didn't know where the toilet was" is beyond condescending. This food hall needs serious training on customer service and respectful treatment. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to find a more welcoming place to spend their time and money.

The staff were all super, food came out quick and was hot and yummy. Kate was a shining example of perfect customer service.

Ordered Spicy Burger and was expecting a beefbuger. I was surprised to get a Chicken burger which I wouldn't describe as being spicy.

Decent food - more expensive than you’d expect but great in the summer for a pint on the seafront.

Chose this place as a treat as it had been recommended on various sites. What a waste of money, we ordered a bunch of stuff to share and it was so disappointing. Vip pizza was disgusting, first one was undercooked on the base, the bloke was annoyed at us and then gave a new pizza which was burnt, took one bite and all I could taste was burnt ingredients, had a bowl of Nachos from the Mexican stand and it was covered in mozzarella, couldn't find any black beans and could have made much nicer at home. Other bits were greasy and everything seems to come with super hot sauce. Highlight was skin on fries from the burger place. Tried two macaroons which weren't very nice either, very dense.... Had so much nicer elsewhere. I appreciate it's a food court but there is one on a council easte in Portsmouth that is a million times nicer than this place. Should have stayed home and made my own food instead of spending £50.

An excellent choice for food and drinks on Brighton Seafront. I visited twice during my recent trip as I was staying just over the road. The staff were attentive and the service was great. Shelter Hall offers brilliant views of the sea if you can get a window or outdoor seat. Highly recommended!

Great little place to grab a bite, a bit more on the expensive side but the location and atmosphere make up for it.

Every single dish from every restaurant contains Gluten. Not great for people with allergies.

1st and last time I will go here. Security were rude upon entry and when I complained I was called a liar. No staff to greet or show you to your (pre-booked) table. Food was average. As is becoming the norm you have to order for yourself on a QR code. The place resembles a huge school canteen. Got to be better places in Brighton to eat. The only plus was the cheesy garlic bread!

A nice beach front vibe with friendly staff and a great choice from a number of vendors. The app isn't easy to use, but ordering via the bar/counter made this a none issue.

Really nice place with plenty of options for food and friendly staff! We went for the rice bowl with chicken and some kimchi which was nice (the kimchi was different as this was almost a julienne cut and slightly more on the acidic side rather than fermented - still nice when added to the rice) and the crispy cauliflower wings, which were INSANELY good!! Had to go ask how they made them!

We loved our meal and experience here. Was in Brighton for the weekend and wanted lunch somewhere a bit different and that catered to 6 people incl 2 kids. This place was perfect. Great location- 1st floor table overlooking the sea, and a great atmosphere, buzzy, but not loud or echoey and cold. Great selection of food (tho one party member was gutted to have missed the steak by a few days!), food arrived quickly - hadn’t realised it was brought to your table so that was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and efficient. This place is well worth a visit. It’s easy to over order in food as it all looks and sounds so good. Maybe order a few items at a time!

This 1 star is for the greeting we received ay the Shelter hall.Don't know what the owners are thinking with the current security here. A couple of absolute clowns on the door as you enter...felt like a fast show sketch or something. We were a family of 6 with a booking. The 2 jokers on the door really couldn't have cared less, too busy chatting up a couple of hen party members. We actually thought we had come to the wrong entrance at one point so my pal went round to look for the main entrance and clown number 1 went chasing after him aggressively telling him he could't go that way, crazy. Sort out the way you enter this place Shelter Hall..give people a proper reception rather than a couple of savages greeting people here..unbelievable...

Beautifully decorated for lunar new year Great margarita cocktail and bartenders are friendly as well as people bringing food. The VIP pizzas were great, we all got a selection of things and the pizza seems to be best value for money. Burgers are busiest vendor so if your with a large group expect this to come last, everything will come at a slightly different time :) which is fine! The duck gyozas was good, hoisin mayonnaise wasn't great and tasted very low quality, bao bun filling was gd but not the sriracha mayo. I suspect its the base mayonnaise being used, which should be higher quality with everything else great. Bao buns that arrived were not very fluffy and light, very wet/soggy- think it was just a bad few because have had wonderful baos from them before.

Lovely food, rude, slow service. They love to keep a queue outside regardless of how many tables are free inside. Waste of time booking because you still get stuck in the queue and usually get the worst table.

We had bao and rice bowl really not nice. Overpowering sauce and iceberg lettuce. Deep fried cauliflower not cooked properly and just tasted of fat

The Mexican food was very poor unfortunately. It was cold and unappealing....also the benches to sit on are very unpractical as there's no hollow areas to make them easy to adjust. Won't be going back I don't think

Great choice of foods from various menus, we actually ended up eating here twice over the weekend whilst we stayed in Brighton. Friday night was pretty chill whereas the Saturday night was very busy! First night I had a chilli burger and chips which was amazing, excellent portion size too! second night I had a pizza. Service was incredibly fast both nights and staff were super friendly. Great location right on the beach front.

The service and atmosphere were fine. The food was terrible. I ordered food from Little Bao Boy and it was some of the worst Asian food I've had in Brighton... awful. Don't bother with them. VIP Pizza is good though, so if you end up here go with this restaurant instead.

The food and the portion size is a knockout! They have a lot of options and have quite a few restaurants who offer their menu. On a sunny weekend this place may just be booked out so best is to make a reservation. 10/10

We had an igloo, it was brilliant. We ordered from most of the restaurants, all the food came really quickly and was delicious.

What a great food experience! Went on a Saturday with a large group of 9 people - was a bit nervous as we had not pre-booked, but they found us two high tables which was great! Love that you order via your smartphone, I know that, that is not everybody's cup of tea, but I thought it was pretty convenient having your food and drinks brought to you! Lots of different foods to choose from, which is really nice when you are a large group with different food preferences. I would definitely go again if I ever see myself in this corner of the country. However I would probably look into pre-booking to avoid disappointment, if you are in a large group as there was a bit of a queue when we were finished (I think we arrived just before the Saturday lunch rush started.) Prices OK, normal for the location I would say.

Reservamos para 18 alumnos y 2 profesoras y el trato fue genial desde el primer momento. A pesar de haber algún error en algo de lo que pedimos (normal con tanta gente a la vez), lo solucionaron muy rápido y nos compensaron por ello. Especialmente destacable el trato cercano y amable de uno de los camareros. Mucha variedad de comida y muy rico todo. Volveremos seguro la próxima vez que visitemos Brighton :)

Staff were unbelievable, had a lovely chat with the KP who was telling me about his degree. Food was amazing big up Greg and Matt in Rudi’s for the delicious burger.

We booked a table for 18 students and 2 teachers. The girl who we talked to for the booking was extremely nice and on the day of the reservation everything went perfect, thanks to the waiter, who helped us out with everything. Even when there was a small mistake about something, they immediately fixed it and compensated for it. We felt at home, so we'll be back again when we visit Brighton in the future :)

Sat on the mezzanine, gale force winds outside, waves crashing. Shared a BBQ meat platter. The platter was amazing, the pastrami was more amazinger. Margaritas tangy. Finished up, then watched a hotel burn down for a while. Would recommend. Edit: been back with the kids, they love it.

Order via the app on the table but service is very quick. Choice of various menus (outlets). Every order of drinks or food is another debit from your bank so they show up as individual payments on your statement. Nice surroundings over 2 floors. Can walso walk and browse the separate food menus and order drinks directly from the bar.

this was an absolute gem revealed to me by my friend. we really loved the options available from Asian cuisine to Mexican, burgers, pizza and loads of other food in between. the portions were huge and absolutely delicious- my friend had a chicken burger and i had a chicken sandwich from conchita’s. we shared tater tots and fries which we didn’t finish. i asked for them to be boxed up which was no problem and we were even given an extra portion which was so lovely. shout out to the handsome guy (lol) for that. the staff were so friendly and service was great. 10/10 i will 100% be returning when i’m next in brighton.

I didn't love it here. My friend forgot her ID and despite it being a family resturant was escorted to the table by security to make sure she didn't try and get any alcohol, even though there were literally children here? All the staff talk on headsets and are quite rude, and as you as a table order from different kitchens, your food all arrives at different times. By time you wait for your friends food to arrive, yours is cold. Wouldn't overly recommend, think there's a lot better places in Brighton.

Really lovely place! Lovely idea, it makes group events easier because you have a variety of places to pick from. It’s nice that you can order from all restaurants from your phone and they bring it to the table. Because i’ve been to some before where you have to go collect. Food was delicious too!! The decoration inside is also lovely!!

Shelter Hall is great. It’s a great system where everyone can eat something different if they wish. Patty Guy burgers are amazing - my favourite burger anywhere. EDIT - the new (as of dec 2023) burger place RUDI’S Burgers is a poor replacement and the same price as patty guy was. Shame.

If you come to Brighton and find yourself by the seaside, you should definitely come to Shelter Hall for a meal. Just beware that you might have to wait a little if you come during the summer or at a peak time of the day. They always welcome walk-ins, but ideally, try to book a table in advance. However, if you cannot book, it's worth the wait if you have to! The staff is always quite welcoming and kind, and our overall experience has always been great! I would like to particularly recommend Conchita's Mexican Kitchen! As I mexican national living in the UK, Conchita's is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants that I have ever tried outside of Mexico. Their flavours are equal to those you can find on the streets of Mexico City! Rest assured that whatever you might order from them it will be done right! But don't forget to try their Tres Leches Cake! Simply decadent!

Highly recommend side car made by the bar! Really nice person as well! If you come must try cocktail made by him! Also the BBQ here is awesome.

Always a great place on the seafront and within a short walk to the beach, helpful staff for using the QR code menus for ordering, have been in both summer and winter season times there, hope to come back at some point in the near future for other great times there soon.

A great place to grab a bite to eat! Plenty of choice so it'll keep everyone that's in your group happy - also having the ability to try each other's foods to see if you like it is another plus point for a place like this. Prompt service in delivering food and drinks to the table from the app showed efficient service. Would recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite on the seafront.

We were using the Skylark bar now two years in a row for a Company Christmas event with cocktails and I can they they improved it a lot ever since. Last year it was quite good already, but the cocktails served were a little one sided (either G&T variants or stronger stirring cocktails). This year it was frankly amazing! Such a nice variety of originals and rifts on classics very well made and a nice unique composition designed by the local bar team. The menu was about 20 cocktails long - only, you may think - but these were nothing out of the box, well crafted unique self-composed delicious drinks, which are varied enough to assure there will be something for everyone's taste buds. I am a hobbyist mixologist myself and I could see they know their craftsmanship very well. Highly recommend to check it out and have some well made drinks!
