Finding a local take away is always hard, we moved from Hayes, as you can imagine the Indian take aways were great, we had many choices, but finding Rushi is a little gem, the staff are always polite and the food is lovely, we’ve made this our Saturday night favourite . I don’t understand why people have left negative comments. As the meals we have had have been so yummy 😋

Consistently brilliant. The quality, freshness and flavour of the food is the best you can get. I am Indian myself so know what a good curry should taste like and Ruchi delivers the best every time. This doesn't surprise as it is led by Salim (the owner) who is a very genuine and very kind person with high expectations in serving the best food and service. We ordered well in advance last evening and ordered onion bhaji lamb shashlick mushroom rice, chicken tikka massala and a keema nan. there was four small peices of tough lamb in the shashlick and load of onion to bulk it up. the chicken massala was inedible and had an almost vinegar/acidic taste to it , we couldn't even salvage the chicken out of it as the taste was revolting. we tipped both the shashlick and the massala into the rubbish carrier bag and ate a couple of poppodoms ,onion bhaji each and shared the keema nan. Almost £40 down the drain and so dissapointed. I was going to drive back round and complain and give it to them back, but decided against it, needless to say we wont go there again.

Takeaway Saturday 02/05/20 at 18.15pm, positives online ordering straight & easy with a little discount, get a text with order confirmation but had to wait 40mims to collect ?. But you can’t all in and place an order and within 10mims you’ve got your food. So how does that work then. Negatives the price has gone up but the portions have got much smaller!. And to be honest the state of the food has gone down from past months etc. Back in the day it was a struggle to finish a curry as so much but now it’s easy finished and still wanting more. Don’t know if down to covid-19 but either decrease prices to compensate size of portions or increase size of portions to justify price increase. Food is ok but not as good as it used to be.

I've tried a few takeouts from around Maidenhead and had tried Ruchi before but i don't remember it being this awful. It's quite pricey - half way between top restaurant prices and your standard Indian takeaway - and the food was not nice at all. Our chicken tikka masala was very sweet and tasted full of paprika. It was difficult to eat and we left half of it.There are a few Indian takeaways towards Dedworth - think i'll try those next time.

I decided to have a takeaway for a pre-work meal while I was in Maidenhead as I didn't have a great amount of time to eat before starting. I saw that this one not only had a good score on here, but it had a number of reviews as well. I love Indian cuisine, but with this being a takeaway, I still wasn't expecting much from it. I thought that the food here would be at least average for a takeaway, but the poor meat and bland sauces resulted in this place failing to meet even my lowest expectations. The prices here aren't high, but they're a bit more than you would expect to pay at an Indian takeaway. The service was also poor as not only did it take twice as long as they told me to prepare my order, but I didn't receive an apology for this either. The menu is surprisingly extensive for a takeaway when it comes to main courses, with there being a large range of different curries, tandoori dishes and house specials available. When it comes to starters though, the selection is really poor, with there only being ten in total. The limited numbers results in many classic Indian starters being missing from the menu, while the selection available is limited further by the fact that a number of the dishes are similar to each other. There aren't many different kinds of rice available here either, with only five being listed on the menu. Naan breads don't seem to be affected though, as there is a reasonable amount of variety here. Since takeaway curries are usually lacking in the spice department, I chose to deviate from my usual order, selecting a house special for my main course. My order consisted of murgh tandoori to start, which was then followed by murgh green massala with a cheese naan. My order also came with a couple of complimentary items, which were a salad and some mint sauce. The murgh tandoori was disappointing due to the poor quality of the meat. Perhaps I got really unlucky, but there was very little meat and a lot of fat and gristle, which was surprising to find in such large quantities on a piece of chicken. What little meat there was was nice and tender though. The chicken had sadly been overcooked, with one side having been fairly severely burnt, resulting in a strong unpleasant burnt flavour. However, the other side was fine and the amount of flavour coming from the sauce in which it was marinated was absolutely incredible, being much better than one would expect to find inside a typical takeaway. It's only a shame that both sides of the chicken couldn't have been like this. With better cooking and better quality meat, this could have been a really enjoyable starter. The murgh green massala was undoubtedly the worst part of my order. This course is described as 'Diced, deboned chicken cooked in fresh green chilli massala sauce'. Since it was a chilli based sauce, I was expecting there to be at least some level of spiciness within the dish, but there was none whatsoever. There was also very little going on in terms of flavour, with the sauce being extraordinarily bland. The only flavour present was an extremely subtle hint of chilli flavour, albeit the exterior rather than the seeds within. The pieces of chicken weren't diced as described; instead these were fairly large pieces of chicken. I found the pieces of chicken to be very inconsistent as, despite the fact that they were all within the some curry, some of them were nice and tender while other pieces were tough and chewy. Needless to say, it would have been much better if all the pieces of meat had been tender. There didn't appear to be a particularly great amount of flavour in the chicken, which was a shame as both of the key elements to this dish were missing the vitally needed flavour. To leave things on a positive note, there were some pieces of spring onion in here and these seemed to be a cut above your average spring onion. Every time I bit into a piece, a strong pleasant flavour filled my mouth, but sadly there didn't appear to be too much spring onion inside the dish, with yellow onion being much more predominant. The cheese naan was undoubtedly the best thing that I had here, although things didn't get off to a good start. When I first started eating this, I thought that I had accidentally been provided with a plain naan as there was no cheese flavour at all and I couldn't see any either. Unlike most places, they place the cheese inside the naan instead of putting it on top here, which explained why I couldn't see it. I couldn't taste any cheese until I had eaten half of the bread, as the cheese only covered half of it, rather than the bread in full. The naan was incredibly good by takeaway standards, with this not being the list bit soggy, despite moisture being present inside the bag it came in. The bread did seem to be slightly tougher as a result though, but this was much better than it being wet, like they are at many other takeaways. Where there was cheese, there was a good amount of it and while it had a strong flavour, it wasn't too strong and I found that it complimented both the flavour and the texture of the bread really well.As for the complimentary dishes, the salad was rather poor, with this being made up almost entirely of shredded lettuce. There were a few bits of carrot here and there, but these were few and far between. It was also topped with a large cucumber slice and a small slice of lemon. All of the salad had an extremely average taste to it and, since it had no dressing, I threw almost all of this away. Had there been a better mix of different salads rather than almost entirely lettuce, I would have definitely had more of this. The mint sauce here was orange rather than white or green, but I didn't try this as I didn't really have anything that I wanted to put it on, so this wound up in the bin as well. The service here was pretty basic for a takeaway. The menus weren't visible, so I had to ask for one at the counter, which I was shown immediately. I then looked through the menu and told the guy what I wanted, with the prices being punched into a calculator rather than going through a till. I was then told that my order would take ten minutes until it was ready. I debated going for a walk at this point, but as it was only ten minutes I didn't see the point, so I waited inside. However, instead of taking ten minutes, my order actually took twenty minutes. This wouldn't have been too bad as it was after all only ten minutes longer and I could afford to wait this extra amount of time. However, at no point was I told that it would take longer to prepare and when it did I arrive I didn't receive an apology for it taking twice as long, which is common courtesy. The prices here are on the cheap side if you compare them to sit-in Indian restaurants, with the cheapest curries being available for around £6, while most starters are £3.25. There are a number of more expensive dishes though, which can be found for less in a number of sit-in restaurants. If you compare there prices to your typical takeaway, most of the prices are slightly high. The starters seem to be priced generously at £3.25 but, aside from the lack of meat on my chicken, they seem to come at very small sizes, as I only had the one piece of meat. With no extra ingredients thrown in to improve the dish either, this was an incredibly small starter. The size factor takes all the value away and when it comes down to it, this is more than you would expect to pay for what you receive. There was a larger than average amount of meat and sauce within my curry though, so the pricing is far from terrible. This place doesn't deliver, so orders have to be collected from the takeaway. You can still place orders over the phone though and then come to collect them at the time you are given. As this place isn't designed for seating customers, the place isn't much to look at inside. There are three large, soft and comfortable seats for customers to sit at while they wait and a counter, which didn't appear particularly tidy during my visit as the far side of it was covered in various papers. Despite the poor appearance, the place is clean, although it isn't sparkling.

Prompt service as well... cannot honestly remember ever going in there and there not being two or three other people there waiting as well - surely that says it all?

I have been using Ruchi for as long as it's been open, and I have to say that it is probably the best indian takeaway in Maidenhead. The food is consistently tasty and the staff are friendly. The man who works the counter is always prepared to offer advise if you're not sure what dish you feel like, and is sometimes prepared to suggest something thats not on the menu....my new favourite is a Chicken Tikka Madras, something you won't find on the menu.I know people that have moved out of Maidenhead, yet still come back here for their takeaways.A couple of tips:1. If you order more 2 main dishes or more (or the order comes to more than £10-ish), you always seem to get a few free popadoms (so no need to order additional ones)2. If you go in to order your food, it seems to be ready quicker. When waiting for food, I frequently hear them say it'll be a 30 minute wait for telephone orders, yet I'm rarely waiting more than 15 if I go in.

Small shop front but large turn over as people always come back. Take away only and always a 20 minute wait, but the food is excellent. My wife thinks that the Dansak is the best she has had. Not the cheapest but I reckon the best take away in the area.

I have had many take away meals from here and they have always been of good quality. I think the chef has moved on now and so not sure what it is like currently as I have moved away.

We have been regulars for the ruuchi for years. But I don't know if the chef has changed but the food is not as good as the 5 star it used to be. Also the last few times are orders are always mixed up by a lady who now takes them, resulting in us having to return to change or collect dishes misse off. Such a shame.

I love Indian food- and I would have to say this is the best Indian takeaway I've ever had and I have lived in Birmingham (the capital of Indian food in this country!). Great friendly service and above all fresh food, very tasty and good portions. I would definitely recommend the Chicken Saag, huge pieces of chicken and fresh herbs and spices. Lovely!!

Always use this takeaway when visiting relatives and it seems to get better each time - the amount of quality food versus the price is outstanding especially for London - we have some of the best Indian food restaurants where I live in West Scotland ( Glasgow ) however this is up there with the best of them in terms of food quality.

Having tried various Indian takeaways in Maidenhead, this is by far the best. The food smells and tastes great and the service is excellent - they do get busy but I allow for that when I place my order.

The food from Ruchi is incredible. My favourite is the chicken jalfrezi - good chunks of chicken and half chillis; *very* hot. The Niramish (dry vegetable curry) is also great.

Having sampled a few takeaways from various Indian restaurants in Maidenhead I can safely say that Ruchi is the best and we have been back a few times now. Consistently good and tasty Indian food. Nice and spicy and not swimming in grease as can often be the case with Indian food. I always look forward to a takeaway from Ruchi.

If you like your food hot then you won't find a better curry than Ruchi's chicken jalfrezi. The Niramish (dry veg curry) is also great.

This is a takeaway only place hence the low score for service and atmosphere! It would be great if they delivered, but apart from that I can't fault them. The food is really good and they are always quick. By the time we order out food, pop next door for a few beers and come back it is ready. Out favourite takeaway by a mile! Salmon tikka recommended!

I tried this place looking at the positive reviews on tripadvisor. The place is busy with people regularly popping in to collect - a fact I hadn't missed on my visits to the Sainsbury's convenience store next door. The 1st time we ordered 3 dishes , and each one turned out to be average / bad. Tried two more times - but the food quality remained terrible. Service is prompt, but I found the food awful each and every time. Feel bad to raise a dissenting note to the glowing reviews for this place. But being unlucky with the food three times in a row cant be a coincidence. There are far better options in town.

Its the best Indian food that I have ever tasted and my husband and our family use it constantly. The staff always recognise us when we phone in an order which is lovely. Simply the best.

Only take-away I believe, but the food is excellent, and there is bombay mix while you wait (one of my can't resist snacks). Good selection of food you would expect from such an establishment, always cooked fresh (so maybe call ahead so you don't eat all MY bombay mix while waiting?)

We're very fortunate to live walking distance from this takeaway and we heard it was good when we first moved here. We've had many a meal from here now and every time it's been faultless beautifully cooked food, we've been to many other Indian restaurants & take always in and around the surrounding area and none come close to the standard of food from this small looking takeaway.

Shop in The little Sainsburies over the road and always smelt the amazing smell coming out of the kitchen of Ruchis so we had to try. Went and collected a takeaway on a Friday and it was amazing! Best curry round here by a long stretch!

We had enjoyed this takeaway for some time and were regular customers. Unfortunately our last meal was spoiled when a vegetarian dish was found to have chicken in it. My husband (who is vegetarian) found this out when eating the dish - a very unpleasant experience. Paprika eventually (after trying to insist on a discount on a future order) agreed to refund the cost of the dish, but the attitude, although apologetic, was one of "these things happen".

The restaurant was recommended to me by a personal friend. I was looking for something that offers good food, good service and authentic experience for my family’s visit in the UK. The food was mediocre, lacks taste and the portions are very small. It seems like the dishes are different colours but taste the same. The breads were very good though. The prices are expensive for what it is. The restaurant smells unpleasantly. I was sold on the promise of magic shows for my little cousin, and the experience, but other than taking our order, we did not see any of the waiters come up and even ask if our food was ok. I asked if the 3 portions of rice would be enough between the 4 of us and the waiter offered no comment other than just shrugging his shoulders. I don’t really like to leave bad comments, so I also told the owner at the end that the experience was very disappointing and he didn’t seem too bothered. Overall, the most disappointing meal/ experience we’ve ever had.

Went for the Sunday buffet. At first glance I thought there were only four options. But three of the serving trays you see in the first photo are divided into three compartments each. So you end up with nine curries (four vegetarian) and rice. On the side tables there is salad and sauces and dessert. You also get a naan bread included in the £20 price. The curries were all delicious but the lamb one is just amazing. Loved the vegetarian curry too. The naan was baked fresh and tasted very good. Had a look at their a la carte menu too and the selections looked very good and diverse. Would go back definitely.

Very impressive, and generous with portions and the more expensive ingredients. Very well balanced. Can thoroughly recommend.
