With so many chains in the high street in Windsor, it's hard to find an independent bakery/coffee shop, so Rex is an excellent find. The sourdough breads are great for taking away and toasting. Pastries fresh and delicious. But what made it stand out was the service from Meral, the manager. She knows how to welcome people, prepare an excellent eating experience , providing us with all the sit down service. We didn't need to ask keep asking for anything. She was instinctive and knew what we wanted. She is an asset. Thank you Meral!!

Charged us 85p for tomato sauce & 30p for milk for a cup of tea. Not advised at any time we would be charged. When mentioned when we paid the bill. All they said was we should have been told. They did not offer to take the charges off the bill. Outrageous! They are not interested in walk ins only regulars. The food was mediocre.

Great place to eat on the High Street. I've eaten here twice this week. A peaceful spot away from the crowds going to the races. Lovely team. GREAT FOOD. The local Bacon is fabulous..Thank you

Wonderful food. Great service. What a selection of homemade artisan products. Give this place a go before the others. You won’t be disappointed

On race day I found this fab place for brunch. I had the French toast with bacon. I asked for the bacon to be extra crispy and it was just perfect! Coffee was great too. Not busy and friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

Amazing quality ingredients and brilliant service. Firstly, they try to accommodate everyone here. Dog owners particularly welcome. The food is really fresh and you can tell the ingredients are good. The bubble and squeak is worth having and the soup of the day too. The coffee is also very nice.

The coffee at Rex is excellent and the freshly baked goods superb. We are regulars because the quality of everything is exceptional. Good to have this in Ascot.

Popped in for coffee and a cinnamon bun early one morning. I am a coffee snob and a quick look down Ascot High Street told me this was my best bet for a good brew. Not disappointed. Great cappuccino and good service. Lovely buns! Highly recommended. Ascot High Street has certainly got a lot more sophisticated in recent years.

Firstly a sausage roll that was a bit over priced. The sausage kept slipping out of the end of the pastry which was too firm & greasy hence why it didn’t grip to the pastry. The sausage meat should be soft not rolled like a ball. The most awkward sausage roll to eat. Then to charge an extra 30p for milk for my tea was ridiculous. The profit being made by charging for the milk beggars belief. I’ve never been charged extra for milk in my tea in any other establishment. Just because it’s Ascot doesn’t justify that.

I only popped in for a takeaway sandwich for lunch but I was so impressed with the customer service - I really felt valued as a customer. The lady in question was (I think) of Eastern European origin with blonde hair and was such an excellent hostess. The food was fresh and the bread was lovely too.

Place is fine and sandwiches very good, but really don't want to be 'bothered' for a tip!! Its a coffee shop FGS, not fine dining or the Ritz! Really off putting so much so we'll give it a miss next time and just go to Costa's etc. Bad show Rex.

Called in on way to Ascot races. Lovely environment and organic produce appealled Asked for flat white coffee and sausage role. Was served tea! Sausage roll soggy, under cooked pastry.....but worse was the under cooked sausage meat! Inedible! ......refund and left.... after drinking coffee that I eventually received. Not a good experience.

Called in here today prior to racing and it was one of the best picks of the day! Two bacon rolls, excellent sour dough, with 2 almond croissants and top coffees. After many trips to the races here we know how poor the catering is on course and we have now found the solution. Very tidy throughout and with a very clean toilet. Absolute pleasure and will definitely return.

Disappointed! Ordered a takeaway flat white and they have changed the cup size for one much, much smaller. It would have been nice if they had informed me beforehand that the flat whites were now tiny as would have ordered something different. Basically five sips of coffee cost me £3.85! Won’t be going there again!

This bakery has a wonderful story and a real emphasis on a family run business. The products are superb, sandwiches, bread and cakes - it’s hard to decide what to have. The coffee was made with care when I explained I prefer less milk and it was outstanding. The service was really friendly. This is a tremendous addition to the Ascot high street and personally I would prefer if every food outlet was independent like this one.

This is my second time at Rex Bakery and both times it was an excellent experience. Toasties are tasty, baked goods are delicious and the coffee is excellent. If you are after real home made goodies look no further! The staff take real pride in what they do and provide a great service.

Have been here regularly since it opened in December 2022 as I work at Ascot racecourse, food is very good quality but was shocked that over £2.00 was added to each item in Royal Ascot week, complete rip off and will not be returning in the future, I hope many more local people take the same stance and use other establishments like Fego just over the road as there prices stayed the same

Went for a quick coffee with my wife. Have been going since it opened. Friendly staff, and excellent food. Can be quite pricey but worth it. Believe they charge more due to the quality. Well worth it and one of our favourite cafes.

This recently started business always welcomes me and my dog when we pop in for a snack and a drink. The food and service are great and a reasonable cost.

La Croisette situated within Daniel's department store. Family run restaurant serving great food all day, whether it's a fulfilling breakfast, scrummy lunch or just a coffee or tea break, call in & have a relaxing meal in a lovely store, you won't be disappointed!
