Went to the restaurant looking to taste a authentic Indian food , but highly disappointed with service and taste of the food .

Food here is really worth a visit - very different from the run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant. Service was excellent too. Will definitely be back - lost a star on atmosphere only because the restaurant was cold when we arrived.

Excellent service, fabulous foods. The amount of food they serve more than what you pay and they offered some extra foodies to try on the house, honestly this place deserve more than 5 stars. Keep up the good work. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Raviz is located down the intriguingly named Jeffries Passage so you would probably miss it if you didn’t know better. The style is what I’d call semi-formal but not stuffy, the service is fantastic and I enjoyed the little touches designed to elevate this above your standard Indian restaurant experience. We had pork & beef starters (unusual for obvious reasons) and they were lovely - curry and Dosa to follow, the former was again not your standard fare (always welcome) and while the Dosa was a touch buttery it went down well. Overall Raviz has got its USP, it’s ‘different’. Absolutely worth a visit, after all, variety is the spice of life.

Average food, a bit overhyped. Very long waiting between courses, even excluding that it was a generally inauthentic Indian food experience. Maybe 1 or 2 vegan options, which I found surprising as that’s not the case with any of the other Indian places around. No dessert options and the small plates in between (like the pani puri) was given to randomly chosen tables. Good service, but lured by the google rating for a disappointing visit.

A very quiet bank holiday Monday night with few diners. The wine menu is much longer than the food menu, but there was still a range of choices cooked to perfection. This is not a typical curry house but aims to offer an authentic and classy experience and they succeed

We found ourselves in Guildford at the end of our mini-break and needed dinner. We wandered down Jeffries Passage and found Raviz. What a GEM of a restaurant. Honestly, the most gorgeous curries and Indian food we've ever had. Not bog-standard British versions of curries we've all eaten so many times over the years, but intricate, thoughtful flavours, absolute treat for the senses, so very delicious; with lots of lovely complimentary touches like the palette cleanser that came pre-dessert. Plus, we loved the decor front of house, so many lovely touches. If there was a tweak needed behind the scenes, perhaps the toilets needed a bit of an upgrade, and we did end up waiting longer than we thought for dessert (only because we needed to get back on the road home), but the food was divine and the staff so lovely. Compliments and Thanks to the Chef and all at Raviz. We would definitely make our way back to Guildford for another meal at Raviz.

A group of us dined here on Saturday evening and had a very pleasant meal. It should be noted that this is what I’d describe as a more ‘upmarket’ Indian restaurant and if you’re expecting a Tikka/Korma type of menu, you’ll be surprised. That being said, if you’ve an open mind to new dishes, you can’t really go wrong. I had the lamb curry which was very tender and flavoursome. The staff were fairly friendly and the prices were fair for the quality of food and nice environment.

Super rude staff! I called them to book in for dine in. The guy didn't want me to dine in until I see the menu first? What's that about? I asked if I can seat down first but was told to look at the menu before I take the seat. Very inattentive staff forgot the taster pani puri(I was the only person in the restaurant) and just over all experience was ruined by the staff. Near to the end of my meal I saw customers coming in no one was treated like that. It's a shame food was decent but the staff isnt.

I would advise against ordering take away food from here. This might be a great restaurant to eat in and it appears to have great reviews, so perhaps visit in person. I usually do not write negative reviews but I feel obliged to give a warning. The ordering experience has been bad (and I have the emails to back it up) that I would advise against ordering take away food from here..

The staff here are very rude. It’s shocking. I do not recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing food, staff and hospitality were second to none - came away from what was a pretty casual Thursday evening dinner feeling properly wined and dined. Would especially recommend as a vegetarian, not a huge selection but what there is is next level delicious.

My wife and I stumbled upon this Indian one day and stopped for lunch. What a great find. We’re both very particular about good food and service, and this please is great, we loved it! Highly recommended!

Guildford finally has the fine dining Indian experience I’ve always felt the town was missing out on. I thoroughly enjoyed the pigeon salad, the kingfish main as well as the complimentary amuse bouche & palate cleanser. Add to this the wonderful service from waiters and a chap who may have been the own have been more attentive and it created a superb evening out. Thank you Raviz.

If you haven't yet been. GO! This is Guildfords number 1 restaurant for a reason. The decor is classy, the staff are incredibly nice and attentive. The food was the best food/curry me and my partner have eaten in such a long time whilst dining out. Traditional Indian dishes cooked to a 5* quality. You won't find any English inspired tikka masla or korma but you will find your new favourite curry house. I cannot put in to words how much I loved this place.

Booked over a week in advance. The bill was brought to us without asking us if we wanted dessert, they also made us leave the table before we finished our wine. The food that we had had good flavours but we didn't want to be rushed off the table. They clearly overbooked. Wouldn't dine in again.

We went on 6th December for a group of 10 people. Great service and good food IF you like your curries hot. The not spicy options are medium and above. Great for a group that like spice. We had a few non chilli eaters in our group that it didn't work for. We called the day before and asked what was the mildest for a chilli intolerance and they suggested we order butter chicken but there was certainly still plenty of chilli (capsaicin) in the dish. The full groups orders were placed in advance. The staff were very nice about it and offered an alternative fish curry but that was also very spicy. Great venue but it’s not suitable for chilli intolerance.

Great quality food, hidden gem of Guildford. They serve palette cleansers between starters, mains and desserts. Very enjoyable! Flavours are authentic and spot on, probably with a twist of modern. Dosa heaven, dhal, pappadoms with home made chutney/sauces, fresh seabream dish, jackfruit ice cream. Will return soon, as we always have :)

I haven't had the privilege of eating Indian food as refined and memorable as this since leaving West London nearly 20 years ago! Their food is that good. Try it!

Raviz is amazing overall. It does deliver the authenticity of cuisine. We ordered vegetarian which offered limited choices and we ordered almost all the dishes. They all were fantastic and very close to what we have in India!! Will definitely recommend !!

The staff at RAVIZ offer some of the best service in Guildford, whether your eating in or collecting. RAVIZ has become our favourite 'special occasion' restaurant (anniversaries, visiting family, etc). The food is beautifully seasoned and the menu changes regularly enough that there is always something new to try. We love getting takeaways and being able to use the extra incredible sauces to cook with the next night. RAVIZ is the place to go for an elevated curry in Guildford.

The service is really bad. I just called to the restaurant now and the person who took was so rude at me.i was questioning me. Very poor service.

Update 2022 Still love the food (when we can get it) but it’s absolutely impossible to make a booking. The phone is never answered and emails don’t get a response. I’m tempted to try a seance and see if that gets a better result. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Four of us had a delightful lunch here. We were offered and accepted the thali which was a superb selection of dishes. Service was quick and it is not over priced. My only (minor) criticism is that the food was all a little sweeter than I would have liked it but this reflects the regional style of cooking that the proprietors are familiar with.

The best Indian food ever. Come here if you want to experience proper, authentic dishes from South India. It’s a small, but premium menu, of well-prepared dishes. They bring you some complimentary little tasters too. If you fancy something a bit different than your regular “chicken tikka masala” (which btw isn’t on their menu) then you won’t be disappointed! Recommend.

Been meaning to dine at Raviz for a while but then COVID came.. I'm glad it's survived as it has been a while since I've had such a good curry. I took a doggy bag home and it's was even better 2nd day.

Best place to eat in Guildford!!! You won’t be disappointed. The service was another level - nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was even better. The home made chutneys made the poppadoms even tastier (especially the pear!) and both our curries were delicious. They even surprised me with a pudding which was amazing. They also have a very impressive whisky collection given their size. We will 100% be going back!! Thank you so much.

I rang to ask about the use of vegetable oil, as we cannot eat it. We need our meals cooked with Ghee. The person I spoke to could not understand what I was saying or what the problem was. Disappointing from the start so we ordered elsewhere.

This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food was superb gorgeous flavour combinations. We were a large party and every need was catered for. Experience was poor, food was good. The restaurant's response to my review was rude (now removed). It is different, but high ratings not justified in my opinion. Have been before and enjoyed, not this time. Overall I couldn't give it more stars because the service was exceptionally slow..seated at 8.45, starter arrived after 10pm. Large gaps between courses and before being able to order. In a half-full restaurant by that time. We were seated at an unlaid dirty table and the table was laid around us. Not a great start. Some serving staff couldn't take certain orders, so we waited longer for drinks. There was lots of concern from the staff, before I had even eaten it, that the food was too hot (spicy) for me...it was not. I saw they had a complaint at a neighbouring table, perhaps they were a bit nervous I was next. I loved the food, the service was slow and odd. Wouldn't rush back.

Wow! This is one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to...including fancy expensive ones in Central London! You should book a table. Reasonable price and friendly service!

Without doubt the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten in. Service is excellent. Food is out of this world. I’ve eaten in Dishoom in central London, the best Indian restaurants in Malaysia and India and London in general and none of them come close to this place.

Absolutely top notch Indian. One of the best (probably the actual best) local curry houses I have ever been to (and I have been to a vast array) Great service, ambience and absolutely outstanding food. Best peshwari naan I have ever had!

This is hands down my most favourite Indian restaurant. The food is always absolutely delicious, succulent meat, full of flavour and everything I have tried I have thoroughly enjoyed. The amuse bouche is perfect to whet your appetite and the palate cleanser equally sublime. I also highly enjoy that they will happily recommend which dish to suit your taste when you're undecided between 2. If you haven't been here yet, go, go now! You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely 5 star service that I never had elsewhere. From the beginning till the end, we were helped with meal pairings and recommended dishes based on the things we liked. Our waiter (I assume the owner?) was very kind and patient. Everything was so full of flavour with such amazing smells. Homemade chutneys with pappadoms to try, a super spicy but extremely delicious shot of 'soup' to help make any other spicy dish not as spicy (I need need neeed the recipe) which we ended up finishing as well as a kind of delicious crunchy ball with nuts and veggies filled with a sauce... And that's just the little sides we were given between meals. The menu is short and well priced, focusing quality over quantity. As for what we ordered, the chicken starter in 3 flavours was really well made, soft and juicy with different set of spices to try. For mains i went for a spicy curry with rice and my SO went for the large stuffed pancake with a gravy to go on top, both of which were amazing till the end. The portion sizes for mains are very good meaning you will most likely not be hungry for quite a while after finishing the meal. A humble service charge preincluded but you will want to add more, the service we had was so good once again. Will be coming back again next week!

Incredible experience! Everything was so delicious. The flavors were orchestrated beautifully. VERY considerate of gluten free needs and one of the most accommodating. The lemongrass soup in teacups were unbelievably delicious and dessert at the end is an absolute must. Rose ice cream and ginger ice cream and kheer rice pudding were all phenomenal. Maybe one of my favorite Indian restaurants of all time. The service was amazing and we had such a wonderful birthday lunch here. Highly recommend.

Pretty good experience, the food has amazing strong flavours that you don't find in many places. The service was good, they give you a couple free tasters during the meal. The menu was small and daring, and mid priced considering the current inflation. I look forward to going again.

As an Indian, I have very high standards for Indian restaurants. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were great. Everything tasted very fresh. I’m a vegetarian and there were great options for me. The staff were so lovely and attentive, and made my father’s birthday celebration very special.

What an experience the food was everything and more, it was presented beautifully and a real wow on the taste buds. Service impeccable with friendly welcoming staff who seemed to just be there when you needed them without feeling pressured. Fantastic, we are looking forward to returning soon

Well, last night was a treat. Why have I never been to Raviz before? A lovely intimate restaurant with fabulous service. The menu is small, but perfect. We were a party of five, and chose different dishes. All the starters were delicious, and the pork dumplings were out of this world. All the main courses were divine too, but my Masala Dosa made it very special for me - it was outstanding. Wonderful sauces were served throughout the evening, and two rounds of amuse bouche between courses made it an incredible meal. I've never had Indian food like it, and I will now be back there on a regular basis. You've got to try it out.

The meals here are delicious…. The staff here is very friendly as well…. As an Indian, I loved the food…. It is a good place for the Indians to go…. Glad that there is such an amazing restaurant close for the university students….

Wonderful and memorable experience here. Owner and staff were so sweet to us and our young daughter. Took great care of us and were so friendly and hospitable. Food was incredible and delicious. Will return any chance we get. Highly, highly recommend a visit.

My partner and I had a fantastic meal at Raviz. The man who served us was fabulously friendly and attentive, and the food was superb...Not just the courses (which were delicious and unique) we ordered but several unexpected treats in-between. Would highly recommend this as a special meal out in Guildford.

Excellent. Not a Korma, Vindaloo, Tikka Masala etc. In sight (which is a good thing), Good ambiance and lovely food (and comfy seats). I was tempted to reduce by one star as service was a little slow, but we were not in too much of a hurry and it was a Saturday night (so slow service is often slower).

A different and fantastic take on Indian cuisine compared to the more usual Indian restaurant experience that you usually have in the UK. Much more like haut cuisine but good portion sizes. I had a pigeon salad which was not something I would normally try, but it has a great combination of flavours. For my main I had lamb, which was incredibly tender. I definitely recommend.

Absolutely delicious. Actually ended up dining here by chance and what a delight it was! The food is top class, beautiful balance of flavours. You can tell the dishes are made with passion and precision. Very attentive staff, and a friendly owner was happy to discuss the dishes in detail. A hidden gem that will not disappoint!

I rarely write reviews, but we had such a great experience tonight that we really felt we wanted to put 5* on here! The food was absolutely delicious- such tasty food with incredible flavour. Great wine too. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, as well as being kind and thoughtful. Really good atmosphere. We were brought a few extras that are also a lovely addition. The four of us had such a wonderful evening. Thank you Raviz we will be back! Highly recommend.

Lovely Indian food that's not your usual British Indian fair. First off, the menu is refreshingly brief, just one A4 page with handful of starters and main courses. The only dish most of us Brits will recognise is the Biryani. But don't let that hold you back, have a chat to your friendly waiter and ask them for a recommendation based on what you like. Two of us tried the "Chicken Three Ways" to share as a start, followed by two mains. One chicken and the other the Welsh lamb. Both were fantastic. We had them with a single helping of 'Pulao' rice and a Paratha which was plenty. Price wise it's fairly competitive with other places in Guildford, maybe slightly higher. But to be expected the venue is trying to deliver a better standard of dining which for me they did. The only reason I knocked it a star was it was a bit too quiet for us. Would be lovely to see this place getting busier. Enjoy!

We visited Raviz on the 8th July. The food was excellent. Every dish tasted so fresh and unique. The service was impeccable and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Easily the best Indian food in the whole of Surrey.

I was fortunate to enjoy another meal with friends at Raviz last night and it didn't disappoint. I firmly believe this is one of Guildford's best dining experiences. The food is beautifully presented and offer a modern twist of flavors that is simply excellent, The front of house team couldn't be more helpful and informative. A wonderful atmosphere, excellent food and superb service - well done Raviz!

This restaurant is an absolute gem… The food is so authentic and made to such a high standard. Every single dish that came out was beautifully presented that it made the whole evening feel like a real treat. A very special mention has to be made to the staff who looked after us too. We were met with the warmest smiles (how they manage this through masks is beyond me!!) and the most impeccable service that meant we had just the right amount of time on each course. This was my partner and I’s first restaurant visit since covid began and they thought that was enough to celebrate so gave us a GORGEOUS desert on the house. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better they even walked us to our taxi! Thank you so much for such a special evening. You’ll be seeing a lot more of us! X

We had read the brilliant reviews before our meal last night and can confirm that they were absolutely justified. Not only was the food superb but the service was absolutely fantastic. The menu was unique for an Indian restaurant and our courses, ranging from pigeon salad to king prawn kerala style, were exquisite. The gentleman serving us was just wonderful. He was so attentive and offered helpful advice for our dishes whilst making sure our glasses were never empty and also indulged us with some delightful complimentary amuse-bouches. This was one of our best dining experiences in ages and we will definitely be back. If you're planning on eating anywhere else tonight, Raviz your plans!!

Great food, reminiscent of The Cinammon Club, and great to have something of this quality in Guildford. Service is very friendly and generally good. Wines by the glass are fine although it would be good to see some more aromatic varietals like Gewürztraminer which would pair with much of the food really well. If the coffee matched the quality of everything else then the place would tick every box in an accomplished way. Definitely one to revisit

I have to travel a lot for work and always look forward to staying close to this gem. Amazing food every time. Good size portions and great value for money
