Railway Tavern in Bexley

Now I've never ordered food here, but I feel the service would still be good 👍

A PROPER PUB! I really enjoyed my visits when working in nearby Erith. It's the best Pint of Moretti I've ever had. The bar has various seating arrangements from a stool at the bar or a high table at the window with more snug seating elsewhere. There's a patio-ed Beer Garden too with plenty of seating and heaters. You might get to meet (the love of my life and I can't remember her name!)... The pub dog. My first visit, a Sunday, had a fantastic Italian woman singing. And then I think on the following Thursday there was a blues guitarist called Nick. Really good. Thank You.

The rudest and most hostile staff ever

Love coming to this pub! Drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is great! Spent Christmas Eve here tonight and had the best night! Thanks to the staff and DJ!

Review of The Railway Tavern, Bexley Village. Me and wife went there for the first time, on a Sunday night in March 2022 - having heard they had karaoke. Arrived about 7.30 and it wasn't very busy so we got high chairs at the bar. DJ Duncan was already set up on a stage in the corner; he does a regular Sunday night session until 11pm. It's a bright, nicely laid out pub on the High Street, unsurprisingly round the corner from Bexley Rail Station and handy for buses including the 229. By 8.30 it was busy and by 9 it was HEAVING, mostly with the late 20's crowd but a fair few coffin dodgers (like us!) and one or two harmless weirdies. The hard working barmaids were run ragged. Great music and singers (mostly, but, well, it is karaoke!). Drink prices reasonable; £10 for a single Bacardi, a bottle of coke and a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord (which was excellent!). A great night out. Recommended.

Nice and friendly, popped in for a quick drink after a walk - it's close to the London Loop, very handy :)

5 of us visited this pub on Saturday 11th September 2021 and have to say what a great pub. The 2 girls behind the bar really made us welcome and their attitude towards the customers was excellent and I would definitely recommend this place.

Staff were amazing just some of the customers were horrible accusing my friends of taking drugs. Won't be visiting anytime soon

Nice village pub, has made the effort to open after Covid by adapting rear of pub with covered heated area served by bar staff. Prices are probably best in Bexley so worth a visit.

I’ve never had a drink in this pub but decided to end an evening out with my friend last Saturday 29 August, so pleased we did. Earlier that day we popped into another pub in the high street, a long established place on opposite side of road. Such an unwelcoming place and with staff who were not interested in letting us have a couple of drinks before dinner as we hadn’t booked (there were plenty of free tables at this point). I pointed out the tables and said we’d only be there for one so they reluctantly agreed. We drank and left for our meal. Once we’d eaten my friend suggested a drink in The Railway, it was like night and day. We were made to feel very welcome and although there wasn’t a table free the lady assured us if we went outside as soon as a table became available she would come and get us. No sooner had we sat down she arrived and told us a table was free. The bar staff were happy and friendly. Such a nicer experience than the beginning of that day and now I’ll never drink anywhere but the Railway if I’m in the High Street.

It might be another fifteen years before we go back, but it seemed quite pleasant and a good pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord which is always a good thing.

What a lovely pub. Safe but not too regimental. Social distancing observed without being Unenjoyable. Great staff behind the bar willing to help with everything. Great little boozer. Great atmosphere

The pub looks rather different with anti-virus precautions, but nevertheless there was a festive atmosphere. Everybody was glad to be back and working around the new restrictions. While they are rigorous about hygiene, there is still the traditional pub atmosphere

Fantastic local pub, recently completely renovated to a clean high degree. Live band's play every week creating a real "night out" atmosphere . Plenty of staff so no waiting ages to be served really great beer. Highly recommended if you visit Bexley.

A great atmosphere on a Friday with a decent covers band playing live lending to a more mature clientele. The under 30 brigade tend to amass at The Miller's. Reasonably priced bar too.

The Railway Tavern is much improved in recent years, a decent re-fit and good bar staff have gone a long way to freshen the place up and improve the ambience.

First time here with my best friend. Really lovely atmosphere. Bar staff friendly and landlord ( i presume) went out of his way to make 2 newbies feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

Lovely pub visited Fri evening. Quite busy and with a great atmosphere of people enjoying themselves. So impressed with the bar staff, because there was many, so professional and I was served each time unbelievable quick. Great service. Live band made a great evening.

We went here with friends before going to dinner. I think it’s recently been refurbished so was nice and clean. It had a friendly atmosphere with good waiting staff.

Best music venue in bexley on Friday nights. The landlord also a musician. Great pub anyway. Recent refurb (which was long overdue) has made a real difference. Service excellent. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself.

Staff rude, unfriendly and unsatisfactory. It's as if they don't want to be there and I wish I wasn't if it wasn't for the friends we had agreed to meet there.

Fridays and Saturdays are the best times to visit for a night out,as on Saturdays there's no entertainment and it's quiet.

The reason to visit has gone, the Thai staff have left the establishment.and they have removed all evidence of thier presence.

A primera vista un pub básico, pero la cerveza es buena y la comida es maravillosa. El personal de catering del lejano oriente y el catering tiene una clasificación la comida sea de 5 estrellas. La comida que tenía era fresco y cocinado en la demanda. Ofrecen un servicio para llevar.

El pub ha visto días mejores, la primera cosa que notas es que es necesaria una renovación completa, pero si no que sería llevar su encanto, me recuerda a los viejos pubs calle de South East London hace 50 años. Las bebidas son el mismo precio que otros bares de la zona y la selección disponible es buena, normalmente hay uno o dos cervezas. No Comida tailandesa desde el almuerzo hasta las 9:00 pm creo que es muy buen valor por la cantidad y calidad que se obtiene. Hay un pequeño jardín de cerveza mal cuidado de la parte trasera. Los caballeros deben estar en el top 6 para el peor en pubs bexley. Hay alguna forma de entretenimiento musical tres noches a la semana y noche poker es jueves. Tienen una cerveza barata y lager hasta las 7 pm. La mayoría de los clientes son gente normal y hay un montón de bromas entre ellos. Me gusta el ambiente es un pub casi en una cápsula del tiempo.
